Visited this quaint little eatery in Kirriemuir and was really impressed. Entrance is up a close and it leads into two-tiny rooms with a genuie homely atmosphere, emphasised by the fact that the whole , show was being run by a staff of one! The lady in charge welcomed us warmly, apologised for the lack of staff but still managed to achieve a friendly, efficient service as well as prepare an excellent lunch.A brunch panini was something special and a helping of the home-made chocolate cake washed down by an excellent pot of Early Grey tea cost a mere £13 for the two of us. Good value to say the least.

I live in the town but still can't resist Karen's scones with a nice cup of coffee. They also do a very good Panini with homemade salad and dressing for lunch.Give it a go while you are in Kirriemuir.

The Auld Surgery needs some surgery. Premises shabby and down at heel. Soup was tasty, but a very paltry portion. Toasties were flabby and wet. No way worthy of a five star rating. Sorry!

A good range of gluten free and dairy free cakes and shortbread .. It's lovely to think that someone cares enough to include those of us that find it so difficult to eat out .. The little gluten free +dairy free cup cake were a pure treat which I can highly recommend .

It's a very cosy little tearoom. There is two different rooms to sit in and there's a little gift shop as well. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent, all homemade.

We stopped here for tea and cake, we had a huge pot of tea, along with a delicious home made dairy free custard cream and the freshest, lightest scone we've had in years. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and were happy to chat with us until the cafe filled up with other happy punters. We'll definitely stop here again next time we pass through Kirriemuir. They bake cakes fresh daily and also make gluten free and dairy free cakes and biscuits.

Wanted coffee and cake mid-afternoon and came across the Auld Surgery. Coffee good, strong and hot. Fruit cake very good. Might go back again if ever in Kirriemuir and try for lunch.

This is such a sweet little tearoom which serves delicious 'proper' homemade soup. We had the soup and sandwich deal and the sandwiches were very tasty. We finished off with a made to order strawberry tart - yum! I would highly recommend this establishment. The service was friendly and efficient and for those who enjoy a wee browse, the tearoom also has a little shop attached with lots of cute bits and bobs. Of course I spent too much money on these and saw even more I liked -so a return visit is essential :)

Good fresh food, although the menu isn't very varied if your looking for lunch It's in a lovely setting and there's a small play park for children. Dogs are allowed and well catered for. There's plenty parking but this is where I felt badly let down. There is no allocated disabled parking! There was a challenging walk on my crutches from the carpark to the cafe as the surface isn't very wheelchair friendly. With the space available in sure there is an easy remedy and I'm sure we'll come back for more of the good food and see if they resolve the parking for the disabled.

The view from the dining room was lovely and the staff were super friendly and welcoming, unfortunately, the food was not great. The lasagne tasted like a poor-quality frozen ready meal and the mac 'n' cheese was not very nice. The chips were good, though. Unfortunately, for several days afterwards I had an upset stomach. Apparently, due to staff shortages, their menu was reduced and maybe they didn't have the qualified staff who usually prepare the food. Maybe we were just unfortunate and did not sample their food at its best.

Friendly staff, good service. Nice to sit outside and look out over the harbor. They do not serve food anymore, but they do have an ice cream bar daytime. Fair prices on the beer.

I've visited this cafe many times as we stayed outside Alyth numerous times throughout the year and more so when my sisters cancer was terminal. The reason I'm back today is to visit where their ashes were scattered as both my mom and sister are scattered here together. (We live in Wales) I would agree with many other reviews on here that this is not the friendliest cafe considering how lovely it is. I will point out that most times when the younger girls serve, they're very pleasant. I was here on Monday for tea and cake and the young blonde lady serving was absolute lovely and gave me the WiFi password, as I've also had on previous trips when I've asked. Nothing worse sitting on your own, Billy no mates and can't use your phone. Today I'm stretching and getting signal on and off. Anyhow, I came In today, Wednesday 16 October, no hello.. nothing. Sat down and rude woman appeared with pen and notepad..no hello.. just are you ready to order or do you need another minute? No smile, no pleasantries. I ordered I then went up to look for the password only for her to tell me there isn't one.. you can't have WiFi as we don't have it. I said it's showing up .. and I got it on Monday. No you didn't as we don't give it out... if everyone uses it our tills don't work.. Really ??? 🤔🤔😶🌫️ I said once again I got it on Monday. - no you didn't !! OK.. seemingly I'm a liar now 🙄🙄😔 Honestly I doubt I'll be back here as clearly the same woman, older, glasses and not a scottish accent I don't believe, Blue in her hair this time. You'd think after many complaints they'd do something about this.. unless she's the actual owner.. which sadly I hope not.. She does not make visiting conditions pleasant .
