The Artisan Pasta Maker in Edinburgh, City of

A wonderful place a stone's throw from Princes Street. If you're tired of burgers and fish and chips and want to treat yourself to a plate of pasta you absolutely have to stop by! Handmade and well-seasoned pasta is certainly not easy to find in Scotland, with them you will feel like you are at home. We ate lasagna, walnut triangles, focaccia, cantucci and tiramisu, all delicious! Thanks again to Milena and all her wonderful team for their hospitality ❤️

I am an Edinburgh local and I must say this is the best pasta I have ever had. You can literally taste the quality of this self made pasta. For me, this place is pasta heaven. The staff is super friendly and I also love the unique atmosphere they managed to create in this beautiful little restaurant. I am really looking forward to my next visit!

best pasta in town! in fact, best pasta ive ever had!! im honest, this place is the number one reason why i have to come back to edinburgh next summer. i went there two times in just three days because it was so damn delicious ♡ the staff is super nice too and makes one feel welcome and at home. the amiance is amazing too, i really love this place so much ♡ burranra pasta, triangoli, laglierini were all more than amazing and the tiramisu was so nice and creamy i still dream abou it. everything has an amazing quality, one gets free water, even refills without having to ask and the prices are more than fair too. i cant wait to be back next year ♥︎

A unique little restaurant where you get delicious homemade pasta dishes freshly made, and pop next door to the wine bar for your drinks and pee breaks! Lovely vibes and friendly staff. I definitely recommend getting any specials they have on offer that day!

What a find! Such a gem. My family and I have been in Edinburgh for nearly a month now and this meal was easily the best we've had and we've been eating out every night. Not only was the food super fresh but the service was spot on and the shop, which doubled as a restaurant had a great atmosphere. To top it all off it was one of the cheapest family meals we've had as well. Highly recommended.

Pasta was so good, we ended up ordering a 3rd between the two of us. Service was quick. The restaurant is quite small but we didn’t have an issue getting a table for lunch. There is a wine bar next door which is also incredible and complimented each other perfectly.

Nice place and above all excellent for eating pasta made like in Italy. You can eat on site, order takeaway or buy raw pasta and cook it at home. Friendly and very helpful staff, the owners are Italian. If you are in Edinburgh I highly recommend it!

The pasta is simply amazing, made from the finest ingredients. It's a small, cozy spot with excellent service and a relaxed vibe. You can get wine from the bar next door. And don’t miss out on the tiramisu! I'll definitely be coming back.

Had a wonderful meal with friends. We were served by Bella who was absolutely delightful. We all chose different pasta dishes and they were all delicious. Had to try the tirasimu and was definitely one of the best , also very good sized portion. Will be back soon , thank you.

Extremely cozy little Italian pasta Restaurant/Shop. Better than anything I have had in Rome and Milan. Service is friendly and the menu although small (fitting the size of the restaurant) is very tasty. Do try the Tiramisu for dessert. A reservation is recommended but there is a partnership with the next dir wine bar that provides extra seating and good wine.

Such a lovely place! We went saturday lunchtime and the server was so kind. They have a wine bar next door so you can order drinks from there - the pasta was 10/10 though! I recommend the polenta taleggio for a starter/side, it was fab

I had full plans on eating in but when I arrived it seemed so exciting to take some pasta home and cook. I bought the cacio e pepe tortellini, the staff member recommended 8 pieces which was plenty for one, could have even been enough for two depending on the meal. As I've been traveling for a while, this has been one of my favorite meals! I really loved seeing one of the other staff members making the pasta. Magical. Thanks!

Best pasta I have had in Scotland so far! I had the Tortelli Maremmani with braised beef and it was absolutely delicious. You can see all the freshly made pasta on the counter and they are reasonably priced. We dined at the wine bar next door since you can order the pasta to have it there with some wine. Totally recommend!

Fabulous food fresh and authentic

Perfect place for dinner. The staff is lovely. My waitress Giulia was super nice Italian girl. The whole atmosphere is so great. I feel like I’m in Italy. Especially on a Saturday night I’m transformed. The food is so good. Handmade by an amazing Italian lady. I’ve been all over Italy, and the tiramisu here is something else. They make everything in house (including the tiramisu). Such a hidden little gem in Edinburgh. Must try!

A lot of different amazing pasta’s for a lovely price. Really nice tiramisu as well. The wine bar next to it is also perfect. On Sunday you can buy the pasta / tiramisu etc on the Stockbridge market

Sitio pequeño, acogedor y buenísimo. Los platos que pedimos estaban increíbles, se notaba que era pasta fresca y artesana. Pedimos el menú de entre semana que te ofertaban 2 platos o 1 y un postre por 14'95 libras. Platos de máxima calidad a muuyyy buen precio. Si venís a Edimburgo no os lo podéis perder!!

Ad accoglierci c’è Fabrizio che con la sua gentilezza buon umore e professionalità ti fa sentire a casa. Tantissimi tipi di pasta fresca fatta in casa, con diversi tipi di sughi molto stuzzicanti. Il posto non è molto grande, però per non fare mancare nulla! Ci sono gli amici, un locale a fianco che in amicizia collaborano, come per esempio con le bibite, qui come in tutta Edimburgh l’acqua è gratis, però se vuoi della buona birra ci sono i vicini! Un locale molto accogliente (Bacco Winebar) ho visto una bella scelta di Vini pregiati, purtroppo non ho bevuto il vino, sarà la prossima volta!! Se volete la migliore pasta fatta in casa, questo è il posto giusto!!! Non dimenticare di assaggiare il Tiramisù fatto da loro, un poema! Locale accogliente, buona musica, gentilezza, tanti sorrisi!! De beste pasta die ik ooit heb gegeten! Echt enorm lekker. Qua drinken serveren ze enkel water maar je kan bij de buren (Bacco Winebar) wat anders te drinken halen. Ik zou ook aanraden om daar te gaan zitten en je pasta te laten brengen, dat doen ze namelijk ook. De sfeer in het restaurant van de Artisan Pasta Maker zelf is niet zo gezellig en ze hebben maar 3 tafels. Laat je daar echt niet door tegenhouden: ga bij Bacco zitten en geniet van geweldige pasta!!!

Each time I pass Dundas street in Edinburgh, I get mesmerised by the look of fresh pasta being made which you can see through the window. They sell freshly made ravioli, Lasagna and tiramisu etc for you to take away or you can dine inside. One of my favourite dish is porcini mushroom pasta which is packed with incredible flavour. It’s so complex and deep. Perfectly seasoned and you can just feel the freshness and the earthiness of the mushroom. The young and charming lady owner is very attentive and the feel and the ambience of the place is honest and welcoming. Now that they are introducing the lunch set menu- I might visit there very soon!

Lovely fresh pasta, with al dente bite to it. Wife had the parpadalle with ragu, I had the pasta squares (I forget the proper name...) with pesto. The ragu was good, but a little too salty. Pesto was great, and was cut together with some very soft boiled potatoes, which actually complemented it quite nicely. No drinks served from the restaurant, but they have a partnership with the wine bar next door and encouraged us to pop over and bring a glass from there back. Which I did, and had a nice full bodied Toscana red with my meal. Host was pretty entertaining, very energetic and practically bouncing off the walls, but respectful with it and could take a hint if people weren't feeling chatty. "Alexa... play Italian music, this is an Italian restaurant... *curses Alexa in Italian*" 😂

I've been in Edinburgh for 6 months, and after tried a lot of restorants, I can say that Artisan pasta maker is one of the best places in the City. The parma ham pasta is particularly amazing, and the staff is super cool and nice. You also can order a glass of high quality wine from the store nexdoor, and bring it to the restorant. Besides, after spending a week in Rome trying diferent restorans, I would say that I still prefer to eat in Artisan Pasta Maker.

The best meal I had in Edinburgh

This place is absolutely wonderful! The food is so delicious, I especially loved the walnut and mascarpone ravioli. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff is great. I made a reservation and they accidentally sat someone else down before me, so as an apology they gave free prosecco, even though I was sat down less than 5 minutes after the reservation. And the price is surprisingly cheap for such great quality food. Highly highly recommend.

Went here for my husbands birthday after seeing good reviews online. It absolutely lived up to this and more. My husband had the lasagna and I had the nduja pasta dish. I am lactose intolerant which can be a nightmare in Italian restaurants but the lovely server accommodated me so easily. We will definitely be back!

What a great concept! Fresh pasta made on site, which can be taken away or enjoyed in store. It's also next to a cute wine bar and you are able to mix and the two experiences. Fresh, authentic food. I wished they had a vegan or a few more veggie options but hopefully thats to come in future. I think this concept is wonderful and I hope they continue to have a lot of success in the years to come.

The pasta were amazing! Have to comeback here to try out the other pasta dishes. It's a but on the pricey side for what you get though but overall it was good.

We had three dishes. Incredibly delicious plates of handmade pasta and there is nothing to improve on the beef ragout either - perfect. The tortellini are amazing. I could sit there and eat all day. Unique in Edinburgh!

I'm so glad that finally an Italian pasta maker shop opened in Edinburgh!!! I've been regularly going to this shop and tried many dishes and I've never been disappointed. A special mention has to go on the kale gnocchi with pecorino fonduta and guanciale ,which I had last Saturday: simply oh my Goodness!!!! Simply one of the best dishes I've ever had! Congratulations to the owner, and the team!

Enjoyed the pasta here immensely. I went for the bucatini amantriciana with pork cheek with and it went perfectly with a glass of Nero d'avolo in the wine bar next door. Very reasonably priced at around £10. Will definitely be back soon!

My partner and I came across this lovely pasta shop while driving past in a taxi and noticing them making the pasta in the front window. We had the octopus seafood spicy gnocci special and the ragu spinach and ricotta pieces. So tasty and lovely to sit in, we missed out on wines next door as we didn’t realise they combine the two shops! Lovely staff, friendly service.

Beautifully prepared fresh pasta and tasty sauces, with a wide variety of flavours and fillings, eating in and taking away, have made this establishment a local favourite. The desserts are an added bonus and the service equals the quality of the food.

This is the best pasta hands down I ever had, it is top notch. The pasta is made daily with traditional fresh ingredients, there are vegan and veggy options and lots of dishes to cloose from. Dessert and starter are also unmissabke. Not trying them is a crime. Go guys and see for yourselves!

What a find! Delicious pasta in a great location and relaxed atmosphere. We really enjoyed our dishes: gnocchi al tartufo for me and tortelli maremmani for my friend, both absolutely divine. And of course, how could we resist a scrumptious helping of delicately-flavoured tiramisu. Bravissimi!!!
