I walked by and saw them making homemade pasta and knew I had to stop in. The food exceeded my expectations! The staff is very kind. We were able to grab a glass of wine next door and enjoy it with our food.

It was so, so amazing to eat here tonight that I almost want to be selfish and NOT tell people, but frankly it was too great to keep to myself - service was beyond spectacular (shout out to Santiago) and the food was to die for, put this place at the top of your list!!!

Walked into this place with a good feeling — and we were right! We had such a great lunch. The pastas are made in-house, super fresh, and packed with flavour. Still thinking about those crispy meatballs served with pesto — absolutely delicious. We also ordered the focaccia, and it was fantastic! Can’t wait to go back. 🍝 Don’t forget to order the £5 tiramisu to finish off the meal 🤍🫶🏽

Pasta took ages and was undercooked, even for pasta. No licence so no alcohol. Took ages to be served. Basically a take away with a couple of tables

What we went for was not on the menu. Replacement was not adeguate ( I expect filled pasta to be replaced with filled pasta, not gnocchi). The shop is small, which is fine but there is no loo, so you have to go next door to use wash your hands! Also people come and go the entire time from the next door shop making it freezing, loud and very uncomfortable. They do not offer coffee or tea either. As we were very cold we’d have loved a hot cup with our dessert. Will not return. I do not recommend.

I wrote this a couple of years ago: "Perfect pasta, great vibes". I was a regular and was looking forward to my dinner there last night. I'm now sadly editing this because it fell far short of expectations. Very tiny portions and much higher prices. Did not enjoy it at all.

This is my favourite pasta place in the whole of Edinburgh. The portion sizes are really good and although it is quite expensive it is 100% worth it. The source for each of the passes was really good for the flavour and I know they’ve recently just changed their menu and it is a bit smaller, but it is still just as amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough. We also got the tiramisu but I did forget to take a picture of it but it is one of the lightest and freshest tiramisu I’ve ever had and I’m not a massive fan but this really wowed me.

I don’t understand the good reviews, we went there influenced by the good comments, they didn’t have half odds the menu and no other dishes out of the menu. Lasagna was awfully. Not recommended to anyone

The food was delicious, but I brought out food other than what I ordered, and the chef brought it back to me, but he left the food without saying anything. After me, he served another customer and told them to enjoy their meal, but he didn't say anything to me, which didn't make me feel good.

Such a shame that the pasta maker was broken so there was only ravioli😭😭😭 Still delicious tho! So creamy and the sauces are amazing. Will come back again for the hand made pasta. Tiramisu was also delicious, shared with a friend and realised we should have each order one ourselves! Definitely better to reserve since it was packed.

Gnocchi with gorgonzola were super light and fluffy, waitress was very sweet.

Food was great, service could have been better. In our particular case we found the waitress/receptionist to be rather uninterested.

Excellent small restaurant. Highly recommended. The crispy meatballs are excellent. It’s juicy inside and the sauce is very good. Fresh taste! The pasta is also well made and is very cheesy and rice in favour. Lasagna is good. The cantucci (almond biscotti) is also great. I love it overall and I am definitely coming back! Regularly!

The food and atmosphere was perfect- we enjoyed every bite! Our server Angus was fabulous, he was so on the ball and very attentive. Will be returning on our next trip for sure!

I’m confused with reviews as my experience with this place was different. Weird place split for 2 buildings so constantly cold because of open door. Service doesn’t exist there/is very poor. Table which we booked was not ready when we arrived, staff keep forgetting to prepare cutlery for fresh courses. Food was just decent, homemade pasta was good quality but that’s all.

Had an excellent meal at The Artisan Pasta Maker and would highly recommend others to try it. Quality handmade pastas in terrific sauces accompanying each dish. They don't sell alcohol but suggest going to the wine store next door and bring a bottle over if you enjoy wine with dinner. The dining room is very modest with about 12 seats, but the friendly services is top notch! Also my wife uses Apple Maps which said they were permanently closed, however Google was correct in posting them as open thankfully.

Great vibe and real tasty food. My partner's portion size was absolutely horrendous for the price though. Just be warned that a main here is probably not going to even half fill you up.

Incredible place, the best Italian food restaurant I have ever tried and incredible is in Edinburgh, Scotland, it is a place where they make the pasta right here, it is only for 12 people. 10 rating

While it says it’s open throughout the afternoon, don’t try and come here except at dinner as there isn’t any pasta earlier in the day!

Flavors and textures of the food are just spot on. Best Italian I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying outside of Italy. Service was welcoming both over the phone when making a booking, and in person! It’s a tiny place and expect to probably sit on stools to enjoy your meal, but this is food made with love, talent, & beautiful ingredients. Highly recommend.

Went here for our anniversary, the food was exquisite and we were well looked after by the waitress as well as the equally delightful Kiwi bartender at the wine bar next door where we were seated (overflow from the cosy restaurant). Need to come here regularly to sample the ever changing menu x

To start off, I want to stress that our server was absolutely lovely. However, the rest was unfortunately disappointing. The restaurant was cold, the chairs uncomfortable, and the wait time for the food was crazy. Though we were sitting alone in an empty restaurant we had to wait an hour between the starter and the main course because the restaurant was catering to a large party next door. I understand this must have been stressful but I booked ahead for a special occasion, not to mention the fact that I was sitting alone in the actual restaurant. The pasta was good though simple and small for the price. And call me sacrilegious, but it was too al dente for my liking. I didn't love what we ordered, but perhaps that was due to taste so I won't criticise that. The restaurant also doesn't serve drinks or have a toilet, so you have to go next door for both, where you'll be charged at least £9 for a medium glass of house wine.

The Servers where really nice, the food was really good and the Ambient Had a vibe that Just Made sense.

The MOST delicious pasta served by charming staff. You go to the wine bar BACCOs next door, choose your pasta and it is brought to your table with the most incredible sauces. You can buy the pasta to cook at home but like this washed down by Bacco’s lovely wine you are in a culinary paradise. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! We had Spinach and ? Ravioli and tagliatelle wit octopus DELICIOUS and exactly the right amount.

We've been here on two occasions, we came for lunch and another day we came to take away to eat in a pot. The quality of the pasta is unquestionable, very well made and tasty, really worth it. The place is quite small so you need to be lucky to be able to eat there. They also don't sell drinks, but there is a market nearby and other places that do as well. It's definitely worth taking this delicious pasta home to eat.

This tiny mostly take-away & dine-in spot is sublime. On a rainy day, we walked in at 12:30pm mid week for eating in. Our starters were fococcia, polenta with ragu, & a rocket salad w/tomatoes & something else that I can't remember. All were excellent. For mains, we had the pappardelle w/ragu and the beef ravioli. Both were fantastic, but the ravioli had a hint of rosemary that was just extraordinary. Truly the best pasta I've had outside of Italy. Wine can be purchased next door to bring over. They had beef lasagna cooling in the window for takeaway that made me wish we had more time in Edinburgh to take it home and reheat. It looked absolutely divine. Service was helpful and on point.

I had the worst experience at this restaurant. I originally found it through an online recommendation and regret ever setting foot in this place. When I ordered my food, I found what looked like light paper in my food. I then told the waitress about this who then took my food to the chef, and told me that it was onion. I wasn’t convinced and decided not to eat the rest of my food. The waitress proceeded to SHOUT because I did not agree with her on what was in my food. Despite our differences I still paid. I ignored her and wanted to leave asap but she came out of the restaurant in the street still shouting at me because I refused to engage with her. Overall, it was a very poor experience and I was shocked at the poor customer service. There are ways to speak to customers who are not satisfied with their service and food. At no point did I raise my voice at the waitress, I just expressed my concern at what looked paper in my food. When I became uncomfortable with what I had seen, I decided to pay and leave. The fact that the waitress became aggressive and shouted at me was very much uncalled for. Overall, it ruined what I thought was going to be a nice lunch.

A place that makes fresh noodles, sells noodles, and also sells pasta. No need for any other modifiers, just stick to the basics and it’s delicious.

Was on my way to another restaurant when my friend and I saw this place. We looked at the menu and knew we had to go here instead. I had the ravioli d’autunno and my friend got the vegetarian lasagne and both dishes were INCREDIBLE and the portions were perfect. We were able to sit next door at bacco wine which was lovely atmosphere wise and the staff at both places were SO kind. No regrets. Highly recommend.

Nothing but 5 stars all the way. Such a fun little place - no more than four tables, so you have to be lucky to get a seat. They serve wonderful pastas and I loved the fact that I could go next door to order a glass of wine that would complement the pasta well ☺️ service was great and so friendly. I will be back!

Remember to leave room for desert, you can't leave without trying their tiramisu. The menu changes regularly, always adding new interesting pasta dishes. I can't wait to go next !!

A quaint restaurant with limited seating- the pasta was fresh and portion sizes were generous. Limited menu choice, however, it is obvious that they stuck to classic pasta dishes. Reasonable price for hand made pasta which was very tasty. Service could be more warming and receptive. Altogether would recommend but have had better in Edinburgh! x

A wonderful place a stone's throw from Princes Street. If you're tired of burgers and fish and chips and want to treat yourself to a plate of pasta you absolutely have to stop by! Handmade and well-seasoned pasta is certainly not easy to find in Scotland, with them you will feel like you are at home. We ate lasagna, walnut triangles, focaccia, cantucci and tiramisu, all delicious! Thanks again to Milena and all her wonderful team for their hospitality ❤️

I am an Edinburgh local and I must say this is the best pasta I have ever had. You can literally taste the quality of this self made pasta. For me, this place is pasta heaven. The staff is super friendly and I also love the unique atmosphere they managed to create in this beautiful little restaurant. I am really looking forward to my next visit!

best pasta in town! in fact, best pasta ive ever had!! im honest, this place is the number one reason why i have to come back to edinburgh next summer. i went there two times in just three days because it was so damn delicious ♡ the staff is super nice too and makes one feel welcome and at home. the amiance is amazing too, i really love this place so much ♡ burranra pasta, triangoli, laglierini were all more than amazing and the tiramisu was so nice and creamy i still dream abou it. everything has an amazing quality, one gets free water, even refills without having to ask and the prices are more than fair too. i cant wait to be back next year ♥︎

A unique little restaurant where you get delicious homemade pasta dishes freshly made, and pop next door to the wine bar for your drinks and pee breaks! Lovely vibes and friendly staff. I definitely recommend getting any specials they have on offer that day!

What a find! Such a gem. My family and I have been in Edinburgh for nearly a month now and this meal was easily the best we've had and we've been eating out every night. Not only was the food super fresh but the service was spot on and the shop, which doubled as a restaurant had a great atmosphere. To top it all off it was one of the cheapest family meals we've had as well. Highly recommended.

Pasta was so good, we ended up ordering a 3rd between the two of us. Service was quick. The restaurant is quite small but we didn’t have an issue getting a table for lunch. There is a wine bar next door which is also incredible and complimented each other perfectly.

Extremely cozy little Italian pasta Restaurant/Shop. Better than anything I have had in Rome and Milan. Service is friendly and the menu although small (fitting the size of the restaurant) is very tasty. Do try the Tiramisu for dessert. A reservation is recommended but there is a partnership with the next dir wine bar that provides extra seating and good wine.

Such a lovely place! We went saturday lunchtime and the server was so kind. They have a wine bar next door so you can order drinks from there - the pasta was 10/10 though! I recommend the polenta taleggio for a starter/side, it was fab

I had full plans on eating in but when I arrived it seemed so exciting to take some pasta home and cook. I bought the cacio e pepe tortellini, the staff member recommended 8 pieces which was plenty for one, could have even been enough for two depending on the meal. As I've been traveling for a while, this has been one of my favorite meals! I really loved seeing one of the other staff members making the pasta. Magical. Thanks!

Best pasta I have had in Scotland so far! I had the Tortelli Maremmani with braised beef and it was absolutely delicious. You can see all the freshly made pasta on the counter and they are reasonably priced. We dined at the wine bar next door since you can order the pasta to have it there with some wine. Totally recommend!

Great pasta, but the tiramisu is the real treat. Can sit in the wine bar next door if there isn't enough space (and you get a nice glass of wine!)
