The Armoury Public House in Stockport

I recently attended a retirement party for my Uncle at The Armoury. Jodie and her team went above and beyond, and made it an event to remember. Nothing was too much trouble, they were brilliant! The homemade food was delicious. But the main thing for me was the ‘service with a smile’ from the whole team. The ale was perfect too, as you would expect from a Robinsons pub. Well done to Jodie and her brilliant team. 5 stars.

Nice little pub, but didn't have any food on when we visited (which was a bit dissapointing).

Regularly pop in with the dog for a beer (or three), wonderful staff and regulars.

Nice pub with a couple of real ales, well situated near the ground. Beer was good. Just strange that it was home fans only for a friendly match on a Friday night. No sign of food being served

Been many times. Been much friendlier/ welcoming after the refit. Staff are great, being s Robinsons equals great beer. New Open Mic was amazing

One of a select few, and i do mean few pubs in Stockport that isn't full of idiots, is lovely and clean, the staff are fantastic, and is generally a nice vibe/welcoming atmosphere. Looks absolutely brilliant now they have refurbished it, and it is awesome on match days. Can't fault the place at all Excellent 😃

Called in on Saturday night the bar staff were terrible will not be going again not recommended

Popped in here prior the Stockport v Crewe decent pint of Dizzy Blond and decent laid back atmosphere.

Can’t lie — being the only person in the back beer garden, and having to listen to loud compressed, and tinny pop music isn’t my idea of enjoyment, only bemusement, and simple annoyance. The Guinness is good, and I’ve been here a couple of times… but again, not much to recommend, especially with the prices, and in my opinion, smoking areas should be the most peaceful areas of pubs unless you’re in Manchester, and it’s gone midnight … it’s 8pm… also I didn’t appreciate being accompanied by spiders from webs when I drank I’ve been back in since a couple of times, and the new guy seems nice enough but now the outdoors area stinks of piss lol

I'd definitely go back, and looking at the league tables in the Championship, and League Two, probably next season! Having Robinson's Trooper on draught almost made up for the disappointment when we found the brewery locked up, and deserted on a Saturday, but this place had a warm welcome for strangers (groundhoppers, rather than away fans), and all the staff were cheerful and friendly, and they will serve you eventually, no matter how many barrels need changing!

Fabulous Sunday lunch, cannot fault both the food and the service. Roast ham in particular was superb. Will definitely return.

I just hopped in for a beer. The bartender was really friendly and helpful. I went for a cider and it was really refreshing. All in all it was a nice experience.

Perfect for pre-match drinks with the best bar staff I’ve ever met. I’ve not had a meal here but have had a couple of offerings from the reduced options menu like a chip barm etc. Top notch

For the last 12-13 years I have flown to Manchester, from Denmark, and visited The Armory every time. Once a year. There has always been good service and the staff remember you. Thank you and see you again soon.

The Armoury has had a fab new refurbishment. There is a great selection of beers on tap and a friendly atmosphere. All the food looks good, we had the roast barm with crispy roast potatoes and plenty of gravy to dip everything in all served piping hot.

We always visit here before we go to the local Indian. They didn't have plain Smirnoff Vodka which is a standard drink so tried the Mango one which tasted a bit strange with orange juice but doable. They have a good choice of beers and comfortable pub to sit and chat

I've not had a pre match pint for years and had never been in The Armoury until today. Thoroughly enjoyed a good busy, old fashioned pub experience. Full of County fans and a few away fans too. Welcoming, good service at the bar and you can't beat Robinson's bitter. Will definitely be back.

The food is in generous portions, the atmosphere is traditional pub yet still family friendly. The staff couldn't have been nicer throughout our meal. Clean, welcoming and good value for money.

Few beers and food before Stockport vs Stevenage, Feb 2023. As an away fan, we were welcomed into a great atmosphere with lots of friendly Stockport fans. Just 5 mins from the ground and I would highly recommend for any away fans looking for drinks before the game.

Visited on Saturday 29th October when we went to play Stockport County. We were a group of Sutton United Supporter's who had time to spare as we arrived early On the Supporters'Club coach. Good beer and food served by the bar staff who were very pleasant as were the Stockport fans also in the pub..

Had the fortune of stumbling by this wonderful place on the hunt for a Sunday roast. The prices were fair, service was wonderfuk friendly and welcoming. The food portions were incredible value for money and the Sunday Roasts were plentiful and delicious. The gravy was superb. Will 100%% be back whenever we're in the Stockport area.

Was decent. I asked if they served good and the lad was honest about the lack of ingredients at the time. Still had a decent wrap and he did his best to make it nice. Chips were really good.

As a nurse out in the community working most Sundays I decided to treat my self to a roast take out. Wow it did not disappoint it was excellent. Well done chef an thanks. Are you open Xmas day I would love an Xmas lunch x

Vandalised by Robinsons - walls removed, historic bar and fireplace replaced, now a totally unrecognisable identikit ‘pub’.

The Armoury has reopened after refurbishment. Now open plan bar area, flat access and disabled toilet. Beer garden at rear. Well kept Robinsons beer range.

Wonderful warm welcome. Posibley the best pint of Robinsons in Stockport. An old fationd pub and long may it stay that way.

Over the last week we've had different groups from our office drop in for a festive lunch and a quick pint and every single one of them has raved at the nice atmos, great service and the belting food, I had the fish and chips and it was stunning (obligatory pic for proof) looking forward to returning in the new year

Visited with friends on Remembrance Day and used the Hatters back Room, had a great time, service was excellent and now the friends who hale from Connah's Quay, Manchester, Littlebrough, Sale and Levenshulme all want to vidit again for a meal.

We have been to The Armoury a few times since it reopened and found the staff to be really friendly. The pub itself is cosy and we love the outside area at the back which is mainly under cover so protected from the wind and rain. When we learned they had started serving food we went to try the Sunday roast and were not disappointed. Fantastic value for money and extremely tasty, the beef was succulent (not chewy at all like in some places) and the portions were huge! Would highly recommend.
