Excellent. The waiter was on his own and did a fabulous job of taking orders, serving food a d taking payment and all done extremely efficiently. Good food and generous portions. Would definitely recommend.

Walked in here as the board outside advertising roast dinners. 5pm - no roast left, no veg either. I wanted a salad but with no cucumber - wasnt able to as the salad was pre-made and had cucumber through it. I asked if i could just have plain lettuce and tomatoes- "None left!" Husband had sweet and sour chicken - almost £14 - was just dried chicken with an uncle Ben's jar thrown in it! I asked for the Halloumi burger, asking the waiter if this was a vegetarian burger with Halloumi- "yes" he replied. What arrived was 2 pieces of burnt Halloumi on a stale burger buns with limp lettuce and a couple of pieces of sliced tomato- which wasnt available 10 mins prior! - no veggie burger in sight. I called for the same waiter who said it was vegetarian- yes but I wanted the burger! He then proceeds to say he didn't understand- we didn't eat our food, still paid the bill - £32 - I work in hospitality so would not dream of not paying, but thankfully won't be in Yarmouth again anytime soon, and would avoid this place if it was the only place open!

100%recommend it !!! The portions are big and filling. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the staff are absolutely amazing. Will be returning again xx

For another 2pounds you are better off going down the road for a good roast.The roast mixed meat was ok but the vegetables that came with it were terrible…….I would not serve them even to my worst enemy. The vegetables were overcooked and not edible. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection very good…..the rest of it Iam struggling to rate it.for the price of it I think it’s not worth it…there are better places than this one.only good thing about it was the meat the rest no no no and no out of order.2/10

Been on "date night". Warm greeting, though we were 15 mins early we were greeted and seated immediately. Waiter and waitress were tentative and despite getting busy took time to chat and make us comfortable. Not a large wait for the food and I must say I would have waited longer for what we got! It was very very good with plenty on the plate. Dessert was more than equal to the meal. Highly, highly recommend. Rick and Mandy.

Very warm and friendly welcome upon arrival. No problems getting seated. Nice home cooked food and fairly priced too.

We recently stayed in Great Yarmouth for a couple of days and visited the Arches on the first evening. There was a lovely and varied menu, including a varied kids menu for my 9 year old. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the restaurant was quaint and clean. The starters were delicious...we had the Garlic Mushrooms and the Cheesy garlic bread. We then had lasagne, BBQ ribs and a child's Spaghetti Bolognese. Again...all delicious and piping hot. We loved it so much that we booked a table again for our 2nd night. The prices were reasonable and I would definitely recommend it. We look forward to visiting again next summer!

Had visited last year and was nice went 3 days ago Very few customers. Service was not great. Food was atrocious. Ribs were frozen, looked like they were bought in Asda. Salmon fillet was awful, tasted like it was microwaved. Wine was expensive My view. Stay away

Cannot fault the service. But when you ask for haddock and they give you tasteless cod, it was disappointing. When we visit Great Yarmouth we always go here. But not anymore

Have visited this establishment many times over the years. Perhaps it has changed ownership again this year (?) but I won't be going back. Very small portions for my main meal (Steak Pie) with very few potatoes & veg meaning I'd finished eating in under 2 minutes. My friend ordered Burger and salad with chips. Hardly any salad though and so few chips we thought there was a potato shortage. Even the drinks don't escape criticism - a pint of squash was pathetically weak. Didn't bother with a sweet course.

We visited twice we had a great 1st visit on the Saturday (we were a bit tired after travelling and wanted something fairly light to eat and somewhere nice & comfy to sit and eat it. We had a very attentive, welcoming and friendly waitress, the service was great, the waitress on hand to check if we needed anything, she brought our requested salad cream promptly and then checked back later that everything was okay, it certainly was the salads were gorgeous! The 2nd time we visited we were served by a waiter who brought my daughters salad and my Sunday Dinner and offerred to bring any condiments/sauces etc I asked for apple sauce to go with my pork however he promptly forgot and didn't come near the table until we had finished. He didn't really seem interested in serving us. The salad my daughter had wasn't as good as the one on the first visit. My Sunday Dinner was a mixed bag, in that the pork was nice, though a bit of crackling would have been a great touch, some of the veg was hard, the roast potatoes were divine! but the mashed ones were absolutely revolting you could have laid paving stones with it! I think it was probably smash rather than handmade fresh mash. After the second visit experience we ate elsewhere the rest of the week which was a shame because there was a lot of different choices on the menu we could have explored.

We visited on Sunday, I had a large Sunday roast, I’m sure it was frozen microwaved roast dinner from a supermarket- really really poor , 4 very small roast potatoes, wafer thin beef, lumpy mash etc. my wife had Spaghetti bolognaise, again really poor , tasteless with tough meat that had been defrosted, our daughter had a microwave pizza, they had no puddings , things crossed off the menu with blue pen . Damp smelly table cloths , lights missing , flies , we Will remember it for the humour factor forever, we ordered the food and it literally came out within 2 minutes. Personal preference but i wouldn’t recommend to anyone it’s a dive

Had a meal with the whole family, the food was good value and the staff were very catering - the deserts were AMAZING! Would highly recommend to anyone who is near or local to Yarmouth

Staff was very kind even though they had a very busy Saturday evening. We ordered roasted pork for our daughter from kids menu but we didnt know its gonna come with gravy. She has egg allergy and they changed that straight away. In the end, my daughter also got some candy which she was very happy for. Food was also great snd big portions. Thanks a lot for being so kind ☺️

garlic bread was bulky and tasteless steak pie was mushy and horrible my ribs were horrible looked more like a big knuckle chips soggy best thing was the wine what a waste of money would sooner have had fish and chips around corner will not be returning.

I had a homemade mousaka followed by strawberries and cream, absolutely delicious and good value. No complaints and everything was very well done.

Lovely fish and chips crisp batter

Me and my two sisters went today 3rd July for a late lunch. We all had mushroom omelette with chips and peas/beans. It was great. It came up piping hot and was freshly made - you could tell. We even joked the peas were like lava. It’s somewhere we will definitely go again when we’re in Gr Yarmouth. We’d travelled in for the day from Norwich. Cannot fault the restaurant, service or food, it was all good. We even overheard another customer at a different table rave about the roast dinner he had just had - always nice to hear that other meals were just as good as ours. 👍👍

Well what can I say first visit since last year, Di had fresh fruit cocktail and ice cream, I managed liver and onions, roast pot's, veg and gravy, pics before and after, was excellent best restaurant in Great Yarmouth in my opinion.

Booked a table for a Birthday meal, the staff and atmosphere in the restaurant was absolutely amazing! Food was delicious, totally recommend fillet steak half lobster!! We're 100% going to visit again.

My Wife and I had Sunday lunch there today. Wifes was roast turkey and mine was home made steak pie. Both were brilliant with good helping of quality veg. The service was excellent and we will be dinning there again for sure. Thanks.

We have been visiting Great Yarmouth at least twice a year for the past 10 years and and we always eat at The Arches. The food is amazing and the service is first class. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly and cannot do enough for you. Easily the best restaurant in Great Yarmouth.

The best food and service in Great Yarmouth, homemade steak pie is the best anywhere I've had the meat melts in your mouth , been going there as long as I can remember, the booths where you eat are great and comfortable, and service is always great , whenever I'm in Yarmouth always come here best by far , Anita, Courtney, the team best ever

Went in here after a recommendation from somebody who had just left. First impressions are a sticky floor and outdated so my expectations were low. Food was average and overheard staff complain about other staff. Pushchairs were in the way so couldn't initially sit where we wanted around our table. With a lot of tlc and staff training this place could improve a lot

Space is limited inside so be careful if arriving with pushchairs. The food was good with decent portions. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal very much. My steak pie was nice but I suspect it was meat from a tin, although the extra gravy was made perfectly. I'd go for lasagne next time.

Wow cooked to perfection 👌 Compliments to the chef 👍😁 We ordered fillet of steak and lobster Thermidore and it was just beautiful we were both amazed at how good our dishes tasted. The restaurant was full and people were queuing at the door for the next empty table this just speaks for itself thank you so much we shall def be returning not sure we will ever find a meal as delicious as this one from your restaurant anywhere else 👍👌 thank you.

Sticky carpets, extremely poor food, stay well clear

Lovely food. Service was good but however unable to enjoy our evening as too many screaming kids and felt very cramped in this restaurant as lots of pushchairs everywhere.

Food was mediocre, was so hot in there and no air con, mains came out within seconds of finishing the starters, portions were not too great and chips undercooked, came here 22yrs ago and revisited but wasnt great, wouldnt rush back unfortunately

We had a lovely meal here on saturday. Server did well and the food was nice.my only concern is that a few days later we ate at the place next door and we saw the server/manager come out the arches, stand by the lampost and smoke crack/from the unmistakable smell. This was around 8pm

The staff were charismatic, our server was great and very polite which is what the star is for. We ordered the beef roast dinner and the cod and chips. It came out within minutes, but the only warm thing on the plate was the gravy and the chips. To my disgust, on opening my fish I discovered a parasite inside. I dont know what passes for good food in yarmouth but I can guarantee its not this. The server was very quiet about it, but accepted what was wrong with the meal and didn't charge us for anything but the drinks. I will never return here, and will be tipping off health and food standards to make a prompt visit, this restaurant will end up harming someone.

Such a warm and friendly welcome at this restaurant. We were greeted and sat quite quickly (considering there was eleven of us) The service was spot, including the meals we all ordered they were cooked to perfection. Clean plates all round we will definitely be returning to this restaurant, what a fantastic experience.

Food was amazing, the steak was the best I’ve had in a long time and I eat out regularly in Norwich and London. Staff were very friendly and polite. Myself and the family will be coming back the next time we visit Great Yarmouth.

This has always been our first choice when it comes to eating out but following our last visit we will not be returning. The ‘manager’, Fabian was rude and arrogant. The large party of males were in the restaurant and were loud and foul mouthed....

The food here is lovely. Sadly the service is shocking. Take your custom to a place where as a customer you are valued.

We tried to book by phone, but were told that they weren't taking bookings. Too busy. So we just turned up on the door. Had to wait 10 mins for a table... (not bad?) Ordered the food, had to wait another 35 mins for the meal. Unfortunately, no draught beer, so we had bottles. "What about the food? " I hear you say..... Well.... we asked for the chef to be sedated because we wanted sirloin steaks, very well done. You know what? It was Great....! Nice thick slabs of meat, perfectly cooked (for us) Not tiny portions of sauce..... proper gravy boats full of sauce and mushrooms (one Diane, one Chasseur). It's a good job we didn't order starters, because we wouldn't have ate it all. So, to sum up, with the booze, about £74 for a proper meal we could NOT FAULT. And, it was well worth the wait. Would do it again in a heartbeat. We offered our Thanks to the chef, and the waiter said he would try to wake him up....... LOL
