Not my cup of tea overall lady behind the bar was pleasant and have no complaints there .. all beer is served from the barrel which I'm personally not a fan of no head or body looks unappealing.. the venue is cold and uninviting hard wood seats just doesn't draw you in .. orry not for me

Quite otherwise I’m sure it would have been a 5* atmosphere. Great beer, very well priced, kind and interested staff! Great quirky location and building, if only I lived in Belper! A pint of farmers was my choice - It was excellent

Great micropub tucked away in the corner of Belper market place. Located in an old, interesting building with some seating outside, and fairly plain decor/seating inside. This is an absolute gem with a good selection of beers poured direct from the keg/barrel which are on view behind the bar. The beer is very well kept, and snacks are available. I tried the cheese and onion sandwich which was wonderful and complemented the beer. Friendly locals. Will definitely visit again.

Great micro pub, currently open Thursday - Sundays. Amazing selection of beer and cider, changes and has special events. Really good prices and poured straight from keg. Outside seating with blankets and heater. Worth repeat visits as drink selection changes. Friendly staff

Wonderful little beer emporium.

Definitely coming back. Bartender was a great help finding my dad and I the right drink for our tastes. Cheapest drinks in belper! Limited space ie micro.. Takeaway options for select drinks

Lovely little micropub in beautiful Belper. Fabulous beer list, and ale kept in perfect condition. Has the feel of an old fashioned proper spit and sawdust pub. Definitely my favourite pub in Belper, and very much worth making a detour to!

Some describe out as a room overlooking a car park true real ale and cider lovers it's worth a pilgrimage always top notch

Tucked away in the corner of Belper market square with limited indoor and outdoor seating. It's a freehouse so don't expect the typical (not particularly good) beers; however, in my experience the beer choice can be a bit hit or miss. They're on Real Ale Finder, so it's worth checking to see what they have on before visiting; however, the beer is in good condition so it's really a matter of personal preference. Staff and customers are all friendly and it's generally nice and relaxed. As a side note, I spotted a bottle of Thornbridge Necessary Evil which is an outstanding imperial stout.

October 2022 Update: The Angels Micropub has survived the dreadful pandemic! Still one of the best places to have craft beer around town. Still rather eccentric opening hours (Thursdays to Sundays only), like many micros. Along with the newly established The Belper Tap, The Angels Micropub is your best option by far in Belper for a pint of craft ale or cider. It is a hidden gem indeed, tugged into the far corner of Market Place - you have to be very close to the northern east corner to actually see it's there. It has a narrow patio area with a few outside tables, and the single room in the pub holds only about 30 people. The range of carefully selected real ales (directly from the cask) is excellent, as is the one for craft cider. And they're only 3 quid a pint, no matter how high the ABV is. I had three excellent pints there: two beers (Titanic Plum Porter, Plummeth Grand Cru) and a flavorful cask-matured cider (Thistly Cross Whisky Cask). The young woman who was running things on the day was extremely friendly and welcoming, herself an enthusiast for real ale and cider. The atmosphere is very friendly, and you can always strike up a conversation with a fellow punter. Note: The Angels is open only between Thursday and Sunday! Cannot recommend this superb place enough: Keep up the good work!

Stopped here for a pint after the Parks Life fell run in Belper. Great location close to parking and decent beer selection. Food looked really good but can’t review that as didn’t have any!

Person behind the bar was a bit miserable but offer than that it's a great little bar. Only had one drink in there and have a large bottle on amstal for £3.50 which was one and bit pints and there was a good atmosphere

Really friendly place. Great people, wonderful beers... My favourite is the plum porter... Absolutely delicious. Also dog friendly. Dog biscuits on the bar for your favourite pooch.

If you like your beers, and trying ones you won't get many other places, come here. They don't do food but are happy if you bring something in. Decor is basic but comfortable, staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

A secret little gem hidden away on Belper market place. Micro pub where all real ales/ciders are just £3 a pint. There’s occasional live music too. Fortunately, there’s seating outside as it’s popular which works to double capacity on hot days...the down-side is that the pub has limited hours: Thurs to Sunday only & early closing.

Good selection of real ale and proper cider, all priced at £3 per pint or £1.50 for a half. Only downside is they don't accept debit/credit cards so you'll need to nip to the cashpoint before settling in for a session.
