The Angel Inn in Test Valley

Very nice pub, always happy to see you, in a great location and a lovely building. And the fantastic landlady removed my splinters for me! I am now very drunk at a reasonable price and am glad i stopped in!

I always come here with my dear friend who is a regular at this pub and this was I think my 6th or 7th visit so I thought it would now be fair to leave an honest review. I must say it is a splendid little spot with nice indoor and outdoor decor and they serve the finest Guinness that has ever touched my lips! I rated the food 4* as I only had a couple pints so cannot comment on it. I would highly recommend this discreet spot in the heart of Andover!

It's my second time here but it's the first Saturday and they had a barbecue(hamburger & hotdogs) going.....It's was great. Really nice place to come and chill . The staff is very friendly.. it's a must if you ever get the chance to come to Andover. 2 👍🏼👍🏼. Highly recommend this place.

This has to be my favourite pub in Andover. Amazing management and staff, great atmosphere, friendly people, and a proper traditional English/Irish pub with so much history that's written on nearly every wall. I'd highly recommend it when visiting Andover. It's always nice to pop in for a pint or two when on the way home from work.

Great pub, great staff who are really helpful, great selection of beers, lots of the regulars are really interesting characters and everyone makes you feel welcome. Brilliant small live music venue.

Good value and cosy atmosphere :)

I didn't eat but It's always a good place. One of the oldest coaching Inns in Andover though there's no inn service these days. Rumour has it Dickens stayed here and was inspired to write Oliver when he saw the workhouse. There is a nice open fire and a cheery welcome from the landlady

What an amazing place. The staff were great, the landlord and lady made us feel welcome and amazing company. It's a great place to visit when you are in Town.

Good atmosphere and reasonably priced

I have visited The angel in Andover a fair few times now. It is a traditional boozer. There is always music playing and a friendly atmosphere. There is a sitting area outside in the old court with table and chairs. They often do live music I believe. The building itself has so much character that comes with its age with a big fireplace. There is even a dog paw print in the concrete from when it was first built and it was also visited by Henry 8th. Reasonable pricing and in the town centre.

Fantastic atmosphere and great except for the little boy in the white Fred Perry polo shirt...well what can I say! You need to choose your friends or tour business.. bless you!!!

Friendly staff and customers, nice vibe, went before and was a live band, no complaints

Good pub with an old-world charm and very friendly staff and locals. Visited for first time one Friday afternoon last month to find a fairly busy pub with a good range of ales and lagers. Has pool table and jukebox. Jukebox was playing very loud and would have given 4 stars as a consequence if not for the bar staff being very welcoming and efficient and the many friendly regulars who were quick with welcoming smiles and nods even though they didn't know me from Adam.

New owners seem to want to run as a classic pub Good atmosphere and reasonable price for beer Keep up the good work guys

The pub is lovely an old coaching in at the end of the high street. Personally not eaten there but friends tell me the food is good but I have drunk there and the bar and beer are excellently kept. Inside is spacious with plenty more space outside and the landlady alway gives a warm and friendly welcome. Always a mixed crowd plenty of regulars and dogs are welcome. Would I recommend, absolutely

Absolutely fabulous pub steeped in history, Yvonne the landlady is brilliant very welcoming literally can’t do enough for u! Courtyard is a proper sun trap the perfect place to sit out & chill for the day. Will be back definitely

What a great pub I’m in Andover for work and went in a couple of times - the landlady Yvonne is amazing suck a lovely lady and recognised me as soon as I went in and couldn’t do enough to make me feel welcome as someone on their own travelling for work Highly recommended

One of the oldest buildings in Andover. Such History!! Enjoyed my first Pub Pint after Lockdown in the outdoor courtyard. A nice suntrap in the afternoon.

Quiet place don't order whiskey BM 16 quid for 2doubles

Proper old boozer which I really like, open fire, loud and atmospheric. I wouldn't take everyone here as it doesnt feel like a family put but if you want to go with your mates for a few bevvies it's a winner.

Visit here a few times a year, the atmosphere is good, the drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are always good fun!

Hasn't changed in 30 years since I was last in there apart from the addition of Friday night Karaoke

A old pub atmosphere even now. No wine bar refurbishment and a host of regulars who are very friendly.

Great pub, full of history. Took a few of my American friends there and they lived it. The girl behind the bar was exceptionally friendly.

Only stopped by for a drink ended up having two. No food available in the evening which is a shame or would have stayed longer. Outside seating area is lovely and catches the setting sun. Much improved from the last time I stopped by.

Reasonable selection of beers in this historic establishment. King John once came here so it can't be all bad, plenty of outside seating.

No craft beer but nice building, music could be worse, and the place has a good, vaguely alternative, atmosphere compared to other Andover pubs.

Just stopped for refreshments. Traditional type pub plenty of seating in courtyard which was. .not attractive. Bit disconserted by the loud club type music playing 4pm in the afternoon.

A nice pub in a bad town. The breakfast hear was fantastic albeit a tad pricey for what you get and the fact so many places in a close proximity off more for less while being the same standard of quality. Steeped in history it is a place worth visiting. Limited options on beers but what they do have is nice, fresh and clean. Can get a bit rowdy on the weekends but then that is just Andover.

Followed to the toilet by male staff member who ORDERED me to go back to the bar instead of being allowed to use the loo after a friend. Female bar staff were pleasant.

Friendly, cosy, relaxed atmosphere. Good Sunday lunch. You don't have to book but it's wise to as it is very popular.

Recommended the spicy sausage casserole.

Sunday roasts are out of this world!! Proper home cooking at a really great price, £6.95. But you have to book.

1 of my favourite pubs in town. My friends and I love it here. It's chilled out and has a beer garden. It has a pool table. Great bar staff.

If you like a historuc pub then this is one for you. Never ate there but heard good reports. Akso has a folk clup once a fortnight where every one is welcome.
