Super friendly staff. Lovely food and very easy. It's really enjoyable, and the fact you can keep going up and getting more is incredible. 100% will be returning. Definitely filled me up for the day.

14 of us just had a carvery and pudding. Food was on point and service was great! Will definitely return! Good job all round

What a great night for my sons 40th, the manager in charge last night Saturday the 11th was amazing, he went above and beyond with everything, the food was fantastic as was the service, prices were amazing for the amount of food that's served, also the chef done a great job, I highly recommend the Anchorage, I don't normally do reviews but I had to with this place, Amazing.

Went with 10 friends sunday afternoon for 1st time. Had the cavery and it was lush. Everyone enjoyed food .Good price and alot of food . Drinks good proce too. Clean and attentive staff. Honestly best cavary ive been too. Can not fault. I will recommend and go back again .parsnips where the best🤣

Had heard the food was good, and tbh it didn't disappoint ! An 8oz rump and a lasagne. Very good food and large portions...neither of us finished our meals. Apparently, Sunday carvery needs to be booked at least a week in advance. We'll done Anchorage, will be coming again for sure. 19/12/2024 - Just been here again and the food was fantastic value. Total bill £50 for 3 of us for Lasagne, 3 meat burger and ham/eggs/chips and a drink each. Portion sizes still large. The ham was decent, thick gammon ham and lots of it - and on offer at £9 - bargain ! Only rated service down by 1 star as had to go and ask for the coffee one of us had ordered and they forgot to bring.

Had a carvery here and you wont leave hungry, lots of veggies to choose from and 3 different meats, also the plates were big. Didn't like the tv being there but they kindly put us as far away as they could from it. Most of the staff were great.

I went with my mother to the dementia xmas party. They made the meal super affordable and they can actually do roast potatoes right! Which so many get wrong. On a previous visit the chef Sam made a meal for my fussy 7 year old step daughter even when it wasn't on the menu. If your a big eater you will love it here if you prefer gourmet dining this isn't for you.

Heard a lot about the Buffet Breakfast so we went and tried it for ourselves. I would highly reccomend, Great food and great friendly service. We will be returning for an afternoon- evening meal.

What a fantastic place for a breakfast!!! Friendly staff, fresh food and pleasant atmosphere. What else could you want! Well, you get an all you can eat breakfast for less than tenner, and the food is very tasty.

This pub is on billacombe road in plymstock. I went there with my son for a full English breakfast. Plenty of seating and also seating outside. Very spacious inside. With a good number of tables to sit at. Once given your bacon and sausages of which it's ample and of reasonable quality. You can then help yourself to a good selection of what's on offer. That part is unlimited but believe me it soon fills you . Hot and cold drinks are served and at a reasonable price. You can also have toast with breakfast or with jams after. I found it very filling and of good quality. The place is very clean and with helpful staff. We really enjoyed our breakfast and will go again. Give it a go in think it's worth it.

This roast was amazing every vegetable you could think of lovely meat potatoes and gravy Yorkshire pudding stuffing you got the lot was absolutely delicious and not skimpy on the portions either so could have bubble n squeak next day beautiful ❤️

Been there this Tuesday, absolutely lovely ,share 3 sides .have a steak for a main and it was absolutely lovely .will be back very soon.Service was amazing too,get to meet new chef 👩‍🍳 he was so polite and lovely.

Ordered a roast to go, booked it for 530 got it at 7pm It was cold phoned to complain and their excuse was traffic has been bad, no excuse would never order or go to the anchorage again very poor service

Went over again this afternoon to check the food out the menu was great the food was excellent 👌 I don't understand the bad reviews, The meals are big the sides too. Would I recommend this place 💯 and I will be going back again.

Iv visited here for the carvery breakfast on many an occasion and will be returning for many more.

Sunday carvery was absolutely delicious plenty of meats to choose from stuffing Yorkshire pudding and not often do you get offered but suet pudding as well. Every veg you could ask for and gravy that was thick and tasty. Staff are so friendly and accommodating as we booked for 1 pm arrived early and they gave up their own diner table so we could eat early. Place is immaculately clean would totally recommend this place.

It was all good till I woke up the next day had bad belly and had diarrhoea for ages not good

Went for Sunday carvery, Food was disgusting, everything was frozen food, tasteless and bland for the amount they charge some fresh veg would be nice, potatoes were awful will never go again

Called in on way to ferry. The fish and chips was poor, greasy, had better at local chippy.i felt the fish was a very thin fillet of one of those farmed white fish. Staff friendly enough, but the place was deserted.

We came here last night to see the Amy winehouse tribute act - she was amazing! However we found the rest of it a complete joke! For a start the venue is not set up / the right size for these type of events. Unless you were in the front 3/4 tables (which the staff reserved for all of their locals) you couldn’t see a thing due to pillars everywhere and it being very narrow. The bar staff were extremely rude, no thank you or smile. We went to the bar once then not again as they made us feel uncomfortable and like we were an issue. The locals were very passive aggressive we were getting stared at and shoved the whole time. Was clear we wasn’t wanted there we were made to feel very uncomfortable. Would just like to point out we did nothing to deserve this behaviour we sat at the back of the room and only spoke to each other. None of this reflects on absolute Amy! She was amazing will definitely see her again just not at this venue.

This knocks other well known pub carveries to touch, with its fresh vegetables, ample meat potions and great prices. This place does not disappoint! Quick service and the staff are so friendly and welcoming, its well worth the visit.

From the minute you work in this place the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Completely go out of there way to make your visit perfect. Where do I start....the food.....Outstanding, huge, top quality. We had to ask for take away boxes. Pudding was exceptional. The most moist light chocolate brownie I've tasted. Excellent value. Without a doubt we will be heading back here. Thank you

Places like this now days don’t seem to exist. Food quality 10/10 Staff 10/10 From start to finish we could not fault this place. We felt so welcome & nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend & will be returning without a doubt thank you

Nice airy surroundings. Comfortable seats (important for a large person like me). Service was excellent, polite and very helpful. I have been there twice and each time we had one of their sharing platters. Good hearty food and lots of it. Not high gastronomy, but good value and tasty. Both times we failed to finish and required doggy bags (that's saying something because I have a very healthy appetite).

We were looking forward to trying out this place, but unfortunately, we'll not be back. We had the Sunday roast. The meat looked like it had the texture of coming out of a tin, tasted like it, too. My wife asked me if I killed the potato, and I said yes. When I asked why, she said hers was really salty. The next potato I had, I can only describe as having a spoon full of table salt. It was vile. I've no idea what you did, but you must have spilt an entire pot of salt on them. I'm sorry, but I'm sure lots of people like your food, but we had a really bad experience with our visit.

First time in forever a very long time ! Went and had a breakfast , myself and son throughly enjoyed it . Great value for money , it’s a buffet style , but we had ours plated by the landlady who asked what we required , and enjoyed it . 👍

The food quality in the Anchorage is abysmal, clearly all frozen and this is not reflected in price point, presentation of some dishes is just bizarre, the glory days of this place are well and truly gone, needs another takeover in my opinion

Really good food and such a friendly atmosphere very child friendly to. Went again and had there all you can eat breakfast and wow it tasted amazing and they were constantly topping the food up with yummy fresh food.

Arrived an hour and half early!!! Not great when ordered for when everyone is home!!!!! - I was looking forward to trying this restaurant but honestly the food was not great!, steaks burnt to a crisp and black!, given 2 breasts then 2 grizzled looked like boneless thighs!, gammon was just 2 lumps of meat pink and grey looking absolutely disgusting full of fatty bits wouldn’t even feed to my dogs! Completely a waste of money had to order somewhere else for the correct time! Will not order from he

Highly recommend. We had a carvery cooked to perfection. Variety of meat & vegetables, tasted beautiful. Even squeezed in dessert, which was oh so scrumpy. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Well worth the price. And we be coming back.

It was friendly good service, the buffet was good, as was the atmosphere. Just no real ale, well apart from Doombar, which I hate.

I’ve been here a couple of times and now they have a new chef the food is to die for ! And with the place being under new management nothing is to much of a hassle , please go visit the place you won’t be disappointed!! Oh and it’s dog friendly so that is a bonus for us ♥️

From time of order we waited an hour and a half for our food. We were told (by the very embarrassed and friendly lady) that the next chef on shift would be in after we had to chase up twice. We could see 3 chefs in the kitchen and there were 3 tables (including ours) waiting for food, another of which was complaining. When the food arrived mine and my Dads “brioche” hot dog bun was in fact on part baked bread… that hadn’t been fully baked 🤦🏻‍♀️ We had my 10 month old with us, and thankfully he was in a great mood. The lady serving gave us a free drink to apologise and we didn’t make a fuss. But my Dad did tell me that was the worst service he had ever received 😳

Very quiet when I went, beer ok,probably more of a place to get something to eat perhaps, looked like your normal pub grub fare.

Phoned twice to make a booking and was told someone would phone me back and they never did, despite taking my details twice! and me waiting for them to call!!

Only started going here in the last few months. I don't know why I haven't been there before! They are great! The staff are AWESOME and really friendly, I feel like I'm part of the family and they love dogs too

Didn't realise it was a sport pub. Too many people shouting over a game of pool plus football on TV as well. The main course was lovely but get there early or the kitchen closes and you don't get a dessert. We arrived at 7.30 not like it was late. Wouldn't go there again x

The Carvery was grim, carrots were rock solid, sweetcorn was soggy, potatoes looked nice but didn’t taste it and the meat was cold. The whole set up for the Carvery was bad as well especially for disabled customers. Made the lord Louis look like a 5* establishment

Lovely food served by very pleasant staff. The place was very clean and tidy. Definitely worth a visit. It's on my list of return visits.

Had to give one star to be able to leave a review but did feel it wasn’t worth that came to Plymouth year and half ago and this was the place to be did see the videos had stopped with the owner but didn’t realize the food had gone so bad looked lovely but overpriced but awful won’t be returning!

Unfortunately the carvery at 5pm was not very nice, the veg was dried out and it was Luke warm. Most of the desserts were sold out. I private messaged them to give feedback because I feel if you are serving 2 courses until 6pm then your carvery and choices should be the same at 1pm or 5pm. The reply was quite curt and ridiculous as the person said "we can't change the veg after each customer" ?? 🤔 who the heck would suggest that I certainly didn't. I was happy to go back and try a different time because the staff were lovely and it's new management so I like to support, however following the response I won't be returning

Good value carvery food, friendly service and easy parking, its also a sports bar with large TVs.

Order our food and sat for 30 minutes, decided to ask how long our food will be we were told their was 3 tables in front of ours and our food hadn't been started cooking so asked for our money back and left, won't be back.

Had breakfast here for the first time, good quality food, excellent service. Food was cooked well, compliments to the kitchen staff

Personally I liked what I had. Yes the toast and eggs had been on the trays a while but what do you expect. I would certainly go again.

I have visited the Anchorage on many occasions and if you have a big appetite this the place to go. The servings are on the large size but nice menus for all.

Didn't have half the things on the menu. Burger was not cooked properly. We were a large party so maybe they were under pressure. Did offer me a free drink or dessert. Wouldn't want to eat there again.
