Lovely pub this. Landlady couldn't be more welcoming. Had a great burger and a beer before heading off. Good atmosphere with the locals. Prices are very reasonable - burger and beer for £11.

Great little pub friendly local good Guinness

We had the Christmas menu and it was very good.

Excellent place if you're after a traditional cosy pub. Live music or entertainment on each weekend. Charlie was fantastic and had such a lovely voice. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We had my husbands 70th get-together there with a buffet. The food was great, too. Certainly recommend visiting.

The customers in there are great and helpful as I was lost and went in for directions. I did find the place and after I'd finished I did go back in the pub to say thank you and had a pint.

Nice & clean, and very nice. All the people that go in there are local and entertainment is provided and every Tuesday is Bingo.

First time in years going into the Anchor went with a friend for Tuesday bingo very friendly people had a look at the menu while I was there looks very good and reasonably price

Probably the best boozer in Hadfield. Food is also good and the atmosphere is welcoming.Loads of free parking, Bingo on Tuesdays and great food.

This is a very nice place to socialise, there are verious activites thoughout the week, ie darts, domino's pub quiz night & entertainment most saturday nights.

While cycling across the country I stopped at The Anchor for lunch, exhausted and muddy, but received such a warm welcome. Everyone was really friendly and the place has a really nice, homely atmosphere. Plus the food was excellent - can't fault it.

Excellent lunch following a walk with group. Food ordered before walk and was ready on the table when we returned. Warm and welcoming.

Been going in the Anchor for the past 32 years, it is a very homely pub with a good customer here, the bar staff are very friendly and efficient, especially Dawn who brings plenty of humour into your conversation, also do a good menu at lunch time

Friendly staff but poor beer selection

I live directly opposite the Anchor and if you don't need sleep and a place to park your car from Friday to Monday morning then this is the perfect pub for you. I have to say the landlord and landlady are fantastic and do all they can to resolve issues surrounding the pub and they also do a Sunday Roast to die for, it's amazing. But it gets a bit much and frustrating when every Friday we lose our ability to park outside our own homes for 3 days each week. We have to put up with people driving to the pub then having too much to drink and leaving their cars outside our homes for 3 days. And the Anchor Pub has its own car park, so why not leave their cars there ????. The answer is "laziness", these drivers cannot be bothered as it's easier to dump their cars outside other addresses. There are 2 people who have serious illnesses and access is always required to their homes for Ambulances/Emergency Doctors etc 24 hours a day. So to see someone parking their car right outside blocking any parking space an Ambulance or Emergency Doctors may need is to me selfish. I am one of these people that occasionally due to my illness needs an emergency Ambulance, and it's happened on several occasions where I've had to walk a long way down the road to get to the ambulance and help i need. I would like also to make it clear that the landlord and landlady are in no way responsible in this matter. They are good people iwho try to make sure the local community is not disturbed by their pub.

This was one of the most warming and welcoming pubs I have ever been into, it was a pleasure to feel so welcomed into the pub and the manager (Dawn) was second to none with her bar service and witty personality. This was my first visit to the Anchor Inn, and most definitely will not be my last. All the bar staff that served me this evening was so helpful and friendly. Many thanks to all the; landlady/landlord, staff and customers.
