Excellent meal, courteous service and very clean. I had lamb madras and my wife had meatballs with spaghetti followed by a dessert, all piping hot and very tasty

Went for a meal only. Good food and good friendly service.

Call in from time to time when I use the campsite nearby. Had a few beers last 2 days after a days walking. The outside area is really nice lots of seating also a kids' play area. Large pub with number of seating areas. Dart board and pool table couple of TVs. Good selection of beers. I've not had any food there but the menu looks good. Nice staff relaxed atmosphere dogs welcome.

Comfortable rooms in a great location

Only went for food, service wasn't great, the staff didn't seam interested, had to ask for menu's There was no direction as to whether you just found a table, or had to wait to be seated. I had the home made steak and ale pie, with minted mushy peas and chips. The pie was nice the mushy peas were tasteless and I only got 8 chips, so maybe they were rationed!

The food was what gave this score a 2. Otherwise it would have been a 1. Sarcastic bad attitude from the bar manager, me and my friends waiting for food. 1 of us were served and then all staff dispersed and hid on their phones while the rest were waiting to order. Upon finally being noticed we were told that they had stopped serving food. So instead we were left there having to smell the bar staff with bad personal hygiene (arosol goes a long way). Finally managed to wiggle an order for the rest of us and apparently 1 burger for 3 of us was a funny comment from the bar manager to which the retort of a response was "well what do you want then?" Save yourself the stress and just don't go here. Staff stink with the attitude so go elsewhere.

My party of four arrived for our evening meal that we had been looking forward too all day after hearing great things about the establishment. The location was perfect and the resteraunt itself was lovely. We went to place out order for food roughly ten minutes before food stopped being served, where the first of us was served promptly and in a friendly manner. The remaining three of us were then left at the bar, the staff avoiding us for a full ten minutes, until one of the staff informed us that they had then stopped serving food. The manager then came over and asked us rudely " well what do you want then?" To which I replied " the minted lamb burger please". This was countered (again rudely) by the manager "so one burger between the three of you then" We were then served by a bar member who smelt like she hadn't washed since spring, enhancing our already unpleasant experience. Overall the 2* review comes as a result of an unpleasant welcome, service that was slower than Friday traffic on the A1 southbound, and the rudeness of the bar manager with a stress threshold weaker than wet toilet paper.

Good pub with a lovely garden and play area for kids

Room was ok. Not big but ensuite. The road outside our room was busy for the countryside and there's a traffic light junction. Staff, very good, and breakfast better than average. Perfect for a country break in a beautiful place.

While driving through the peaks our tyre exploded from under us. I asked the woman behind the bar if she could recommend a garage. She recommended 3 and sent James from the restaurant to put our spare wheel on. James refused to take any kind of payment, my wife and I are both disabled and could easily have been stranded for hours with our daughter at home not knowing what was going on. Instead we were on the road in ten minutes. They are truly good people

Perfect location for our hikes in the peaks, we like it so much we plan our hikes around it or commit to extra travel to get lunch there.

Super settings and bot too busy like Castleton so very enjoyable. Nice food.

Excellent food, wonderful staff. Just stopped for some lunch ans was very impressed. Great beer garden, family friendly with play park for toddlers, dog friendly.

Didn't stay in the hotel here but had an amazing meal here. Great place for walks in the Peak District National Park. Hope railway station is nearby too. Would definitely come here again!

Overnight visit to celebrate a family friends 80th Birthday in a nearby village. Check in was quick and easy and friendly staff showed us to our room. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order from a menu and was perfectly cooked and delicious. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Dropped in for an evening meal. Good menu, very large portions, excellently cooked at a fair price. Highly recommended.

Nice place for a pit stop, food a bit pricey for what it is.

Stayed here for two nights on a short walking holiday. First priority was the location and only 10 minutes walk to Hope railway station. Room was great and quiet at night. Nice fried breakfast each morning plus cereal, fruit juice, toast tea coffee. We ate here both nights and the food was lovely (delicious steak and onion pie) and a couple of pints. Staff were all friendly and would stay here again.

Was there on bank holiday weekend and the food was relatively quick considering how many people were there. Great value food with a nice ambience and stunning views of the Peak District.

It's a perfect pub in the countryside. Good food. Not expensive. What more could you want?

Called on our way home from holiday and had Steak Pie, delicious and the Bradfield beer was good too.

Went here for lunch whilst on holiday locally. The location is great, easy to get to and with plenty of parking spaces available. The decor is in keeping with the local area with stone walls and old wooden chairs. The staff are very friendly and the food is great. I can honestly say I had the best chicken gougons ever there. If you are in the area I would highly recommend that you pay them a visit.

Lovely accom. Nice rooms. Comfy Good food. And desserts. Nice ambience Great to have a pool table and darts too. Wish they had more choice of beers though.

Perfect country pub. It’s simple and charming, same for the food, simple but delicious. Really good for a comforting meal or a rest after a long day out in the peaks.

Used as a pub only, decent selection of beer for December, the meal was an absolute gem, Ordered bangers and mash and Wow loved it. Cannot recommend it enough.
