The Anchor, Brampton in Chesterfield

Fish looks like it was double fried, as the crust was so thick. The fish was stiff. The fries was good.

Just called in on the off chance, got food, it was pleasant.

Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch today. Beautifully presented, generous portion, cooked to perfection and served by very friendly attentive staff. We had to wait a little while but it was well worth the wait. Highly recommend The Anchor - will definitely return.

My son and I often go here for midweek food and also Sunday dinner. We absolutely love this place, the food is always out of this world and the staff and service is faultless, extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Went here for lunch with my fiancé, quiet and delicious food for very reasonable prices!

Burger and chips was seasoned so well, delicious. Staff was kind and it was clean.

Local pub, decent selection of beer

Only popped in for drinks but will be going back next week as we loved it. There weren't many in so we were able to chat to the landlord mainly about beers. Hoping the Crackendale will still be on as it was such a good well kept pint.

Brilliant place. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. Made us feel so welcome. Very impressed with the service Food was super tasty I had the tomato pasta with Salmon and my friend had sausage and mash. We both highly recommend

Had my Sunday Lunch it was absolutely amazing! I was a walk in customer, a table was made available for me to have lunch even though tables had already been pre-booked! Outstanding service, outstanding food! Definitely be coming back - I will ring next time and book a table xx

Impressive! Didn't realise the Anchor had been done up recently. Food was really nice and a good selection for gluten free and veggie/vegan customers. Beer really good as you would want on Brampton. Would recommend to anyone.

I took my little boy today here. The staff were exceptional immediately so attentive he has autism changed his mind about wanting to sit inside whilst he waited. The lovely person behind the bar said she would let us know when the food was ready and did. The food was so nice i asked him out of ten and he said "one thousand". He had a chicken burger i had a beef one it was fantastic the whole experience was superb and we will definitely be back

Went to the anchor with some family this afternoon and was amazed by not just how delicious the food was, or how affordable it was, but by how hospitable Georgia and Layonie were!! Truly was a lovely atmosphere and the Sunday roast was just as good, if not better than mums Christmas dinner!! Had all the trimmings with the roast and they were to die for! We’ll definitely be back for more.

Went for Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch, WOW first time in ages there was clean plates all round, best meal out in ages. Lovely staff, great food, I thought cos it was Mother’s Day and fully booked you wouldn’t get great service but how wrong was I. Fantastic Thank you

Great Sunday lunch, cracking service from waiting staff!

The Sunday lunch was OK, usual fare, with a couple of roast potatoes, one slice of carrot and a slice of parsnip, some mash and cabbage with a small sausage wrapped in bacon. As for service, the staff were polite but delivered our meals to the wrong table, whose occupants promised that they had not eaten anything, but unfortunately, the meal for myself and wife was not as hot as we usually like and a little on the small side for vegetables. The meals were however reheated to our satisfaction. Two adult meals and one child's meal (no issues voiced by my daughter) came to £34.97. We were offered a round of drinks at the bar, as compensation, but we declined this offer. The bar area adjacent to the dining area was busy and I almost stood on a dog having a snooze. Two soft drinks (small soda water and lemonade) and a half of cider came to £3.25. There is no WiFi at the Anchor at Brampton.

Attentive staff, great selection of beers and the menu is extensive for non-vegetarian, vegetarian and vegan customers alike.

Great pub, the owners are really welcoming. Excellent choice of beers, largers and ciders. Food is equally as excellent don't know many places you can get a 3 course Sunday dinner for £20.

We often pop in for a pint or two, but had a meal for the first time yesterday. The food and service were excellent - tastiest Sunday dinner I've had in a long time. Beer as good as ever too, and a nice atmosphere in the pub. Will definitely be back!

Went for quiz which was good fun. Place has been updated and improves dramatically since my last visit. Hope it gets busy enough.

We both had chicken and chorizo kebabs with truffle rice and salad, followed by a sticky toffee pudding and a white chocolate and raspberry bread and butter pudding. All the food was freshly made, tasted amazing and presented well. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, serving us desert after the 8pm stated finish time. Allowed us to take dog in with us and provided water. Will definitely be going again

Visited last night with my GF and our dog. We called first to check what time food was served until and if it was ok to bring Willow (doggie). Lady on the phone was very polite and friendly. We both had chicken and chorizo kebabs and they were fabulous. The thing that impressed me most was the genuine warm and welcoming service. We’ll definitely be back… soon.

Great pub, local to us, very dog friendly, loads of outdoor space with seating, only recently started doing food. Chips with cheese n bacon is very good. There's a few poor reviews but they are before covid lockdown and it changed hands since then, I liked it before when it was a biker bar but it's so much better now.

Our second visit for tea on Monday! Brilliant again!! Shared a mixture of starters followed by Delicious 🍔 burgers. Far too full for pudding but soon tempting! Great food, lovely people and a warm relaxed atmosphere. 😌

The Anchor is a traditional, friendly pub with darts, pool table, TVs for sports and even karaoke nights! Can't really go wrong!!

One of several good real ale pubs in the area. Well worth walking down from the town center to try the pubs in this area. Slightly tired decor but very friendly.

Used to go here years back and it was brilliant. But on my visit the other day it was not as I remembered. Quite a dingy pub and the Lemonade on tap tasted cheap and nasty.
