Afternoon tea with a friend. Maybe I booked it at their busiest time because we had to wait for quite a while before the food came, even though our table had been reserved for us. But when it did come it was worth the wait. The man who brought it to our table said that he has been adding hot food to the afternoon tea plates. And it was hot! A miniature quiche with the shortest shortcrust pastry ever, light and crumbly; a mini sausage roll, a tiny little bowl of lentil soup, pieces of skewered chicken with peppers and onions, hot enough to burn our mouths. Then the cold food, a lovely arrangement of a variety of sandwiches, and on the top layer, sweet things; carrot cake, a tiny little chocolate tart, ginger cake, chocolate eclair in miniature, and more. Almost like a tasting menu, with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Between us we ate every bite, it was so good, and we didn't even notice the lack of scones until later. Not that we needed them. The cafe was busier than I'd have expected on an early afternoon midweek, but then I've passed it a few times and it always looks busy. This is a Good Thing as we plan to eat there again, having seen some of the food that was carried past us as we munched our way through everything.

I used to be a huge ambassador for the allotment Cafe but sadly it's become a victim of its own success. The live music on a Saturday might be a welcomed addition but it just means it's very busy and the small kitchen simply cannot cope. Twice now we have been on a busy Saturday and waited offer 30 minutes for our order to be taken followed by a further 30 minutes wait for food. Sadly now I'll not be returning if it looks busy.

We had the morning tea and it was superb. The quality of the sausage, black pudding, yoghurt and pastries were all five star. Excellent value for money and best breakfast I ever have had anywhere

I purchased an itison afternoon tea voucher for my mum for her Christmas. We attended and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were helpful and the service was great. The afternoon tea is one of the best we’ve ever had with a wide verity of savories and cakes for an amazing price. We got a massive pot of tea as well to share. Highly highly recommend and we’ve purchased another voucher already to reattend for the Morning Tea.

As we were in the area returned to find the Allotment cafe has expanded.More seats lovely design. Previously we mentioned about 'long hair dangling' around food.....We were served by a different person. Food piping hot ,fresh.Extra salad/lovely soup/bacon rolls all delicious. Owner Erdal is a man who knows his onions...tables cleaned, people waiting only for short time.Thanking people, helping others...what a lovely man.He makes this place along with the majority of his team. So fab we will be back.

Took my mum here today for afternoon tea for her Birthday, had heard good things but unfortunately failed to deliver. Tea was served in cappuccino tall mugs which isn't what afternoon should be served in but a fairly minor thing this one. We only got scone & we had to ask for Butter & Jam (basic stuff) the server who's hair was down was very dour, no smile & no interaction. Strange as the other lady with hair in bun was lovely. The sausage roll, quiche & chicken kebab (strange) was pretty tasteless. Seemed frozen. Never offered anymore Tea & also we sat 25 mins with our table not cleared and eventually had to go to till to settle up. Positives were the little soups were lovely & the cheesecake thing was also delicious, presentation was good but as an overall afternoon tea experience it unfortunately has to be scored as poor. A shame as has the makings of a lovely little cafe but need bit more attention to detail and better service from the server mentioned.

We were passing (on holiday again) and know this little place has fab staff….sadly 1 person with hair dangling in the food ,not tied up ,not a smile or remote flicker of any acknowledgement at all..has let this visit down. The team are usually quite fabulous and even when super busy the outstanding service is obviously down to a great team. Not so today. If I could mark the food 5 star I would ,sadly long dark hair dangling in food and half hearted attempt at clearing/cleaning a table is not for us.

The food is tasteless, microwaved Mac and cheese that tasted of nothing and lentil soup that was basically water and nothing else. Wouldn't eat there again if they paid me. There only saving grace was the good service from the nice waitress.

Dropped in for lunch with my american pool chum and a catch up. We looked over the menu and both opted for toasties both cheese and onion with coleslaw on the side. We were not disappointed they were loaded with cheese and the coleslaw had a lovely homemade flavour. We had cans of juice to wash down our food perfectly chilled. Overall total satisfaction and would recommend to anyone. Will definetely be back soon. 10/10.

Came here for breakfast several times while visiting family in falkirk. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. it gets pretty busy but there is a small waiting area if needed. There was one morning when we decided to go elsewhere because the wait would've been too long due to how many people were waiting for tables. That was unfortunate but of course a good venue will face that problem sometimes, so can't really complain. They have a good selection of cakes, i didn't try any cakes myself but my mum and her friend did and they said they were very good. The coffee also is very good. My only criticisms are that they don't ask how you want your egg to be served- I like it overeasy but they serve overhard as standard. However I did not ask them to cook it overeasy, they probably would've if I did but i forgot each morning until my breakfast arrived. on one of the mornings the waitress didn't ask if I wanted my toast to be white or brown, but of course making one mistake shouldn't be what the place is judged on. other than these small issues the experience of central perk was very good. I love the fact that it is named after friends too!
