visited twice so far, but will defo go again. The order was delish! My pal got chilli beef nachos, I tried them and they were superb!! Sadly no sour cream on them tho 😔Very quick service, can't wait to try some other things

Had the chicken and rice soup which is a favourite of mine at The Retro also the hot chocolate with all the trimmings is soooo good!

My colleagues and I have filled rolls from Cafe Retro on a weekly basis, and have done for many months. The food (both in terms of flavour and value) and service is always excellent.

went here after reading a range of reviews, the breakfast that we ordered was really good value, freshly prepared and very filling, service was very very pleasant indeed. great little local business

Walked in for table friend waiting for us. Perused menu till server came to take our order. Friend ordered breakfast roll. I ordered large breakfast, other friend ordered cheese and onion toastie. Asked for no potato scone had not been taken off when breakfast arrived and friends toastie was not grill enough, same with my toast, very soggy in the middle with butter. disappointed from service we had last time. had a think about it and not likely to be back for a whie.

Service take to long then thay only got have off our oder and have pot off tee when I ask she took the tea pot and whent do to something else had to say what about the tea I would nor not recommend little

Had been working out in Denny one morning and was in need of something to eat, and had time before I needed to be back in Glasgow, so thought I would stop in Bonnybridge and grab something to eat for on the go. Decided upon Cafe Retro in the heart of the down. Nice enough little cafe which was busy enough for a Saturday morning. Grabbed a breakfast roll and coffee that was freshly prepared in no time. Very tasty and good prices, so if in the area again I would certainly return here again.

Just a nice wee local cafe. I came here while waiting for my car to go through its major Service at the local MOT Station. I was able to work with my laptop and it wasn't too busy. I had the mini retro breakfast with square sausage fried egg bacon and a slice of brown bread, I got an extra square sausage as I don't like potato scone! Everything was good apart from the square sausage I found them to be a bit dry and not that tasty. Felt like they had been sitting for a while or reheated maybe? The decorations are all in retonstyle with moped memorabilia plastered all over A nice wee cafe will definitely go again next time the car is in for something!

Out walking and got caught in the rain and wanted a cuppa and to get inside for shelter. As we had the dog, phoned ahead to check if it was dog friendly and yes it was. Bonus. Food was terrific and great value for money

Been in bansko for 7 days… been here 3 times. The coffee is delicious and the staff are very kind. Lovely atmosphere and the outdoor seating was very pretty. Would recommend to anyone!

Highly recommend this local cafe, food always cooked fresh, lots on menu to choose from, staff very accommodating and friendly. Club sandwich and French toast is a personal favourite.

No welcoming faces on arrival, staff all look miserable as sin. Very poor quality food. French toast looked like a piece of old leather, undercooked bacon. Food was cold and so was the cafe - will not be returning

Basic fare but ok for coffee and a quick snack, very reasonably priced.

Waiting for indoor snooker halls and pool to open up we decided to meet up at this venue. Two of us had been before so we knew what we were looking forward to. We all opted for breakfasts. My friends chose the retro breakfast while I chose the large option. Mine came out well presented with fried eggs, bacon,links sausage, square sausage,mushrooms,tattie scone,black pudding,haggis and toast on a side plate. Every mouthful was a delightful fresh taste. It was served hot and kept warm throughout adding to the quality of the food. My friends had coffee and I ordered sugar free irn bru which came perfectly chilled. We finished off with millionaires shortbread which tasted home made and complimented our choices. We would recommend this establishment to anyone and we will definitely return soon. We had booked a table to ensure we complied with covid regulations.

went there last april when on holiday at bonnyside house. was a cracking wee cafe, great staff and the breakfast was magic and well priced. Ended up going back a couple of times during the week

Just tryed this cafe wasn't expecting much for the price we paid for our breakfast but the food was excellent every single piece of it especially the haggis

It was really nice, but a staff member when asked what drinks do you have, she shrugged her shoulder like i don't know. Toilet sink was very dirty, i cleaned it with the flash spray which, in there, and don't think they should let animals in, i have pets but wouldn't take, them into a cafe. A man had his dog in, not ideal for a cafe when food is around, and no it wasn't a guide dog. I enjoy the food but the toilet and dog mark it down for me

Excellent friendly service always made to feel welcome.

Open all day serving delicious soups sandwiches and other dishes as well as teas, coffees, cakes. Nice place to have lunch after visiting Bonnybridge and District Heritage Park just around the corner.

We had chicken and rice soup for lunch and it was DELICIOUS. Can't wait to go back to this friendly and very clean cafe. X.

We walked the circuit from Falkirk Wheel through the Rough Castle and back to Falkirk along the canal and were hungry at half way. We spotted Cafe Retro but were just looking for a sandwich or something. There is no cabinet food and that nearly put us off. But we went inside and were immediately welcomed and provided with a menu. There is a world of choices, much of it standard fare including burgers, sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, salads and main items. We both ordered a toasted sandwich and both were delicious - plenty of filling and nicely toasted on brown bread. We had a choice of salad and coleslaw on the side. Our lunches were served really quickly and the service was friendly. The cafe decor is simple and yet a bit funky with posters of old stars including Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Elvis. And everything was incredibly well priced. Great.

A wonderful cafe with very friendly and helpful staff. Selection of food was great and very reasonably priced. We had a lovely family lunch and will be back soon.

Very disappointed in hot chunky chilli.. Totally bland.. No chilli flavour at all. They didnt charge me for it.

I go to the Retro once a week when the missus has her hair done nearby. The cafe is always busy but the staff never seem harassed and are always pleasant. There is a good [cafe] emu and the food is always booked fresh so I don’t mind waiting a wee bit. The decor is brilliant, it really is Retro with pictures of Lambretta Scooters on the walls and other old time stuff. Well worth a coffee just to look at the walls.

Love the retor look. Just popped in for a tea while my car was being M.O.T. but I would definitely come back to try the food. Chocolate muffin was excellent.

Very pleasant staff, great sandwiches, fast service, and good prices. Small, clean, and a bit different decor. The sandwiches were quite substantial and we ended up carrying away half for later.

Serves good home cooked food but not much of interest in cakes etc. Soups are excellent & served with good brown bread although I think they have the ordinary white stuff too. Mostly cooked to order so worth the wait. Great addition to village.

We have been going into cafe retro since it opened. They do so much lovely food but must say I love my toast beans & black pudding ( kirks) it's my saturday brunch.... great place & staff. We also go in on a Thursday with the girls & meet up with other friends on a Friday

Recommended by a local family member, we thought we'd give this 60's style 'kaff' a try. It certainly tries to portray a 60's feel but, to be fair, so does pretty much everything else in Bonnybridge. Despite an obvious effort, the 'memorabelia has a kind of 'budget' feel, as do the plastic chairs. At the rear it is hard to ascertain where the customer seating ends and the storage area begins. Shame really... because the service, the food and the pricing are really good. Only the presentation lets it down.
