Now open as Philly cheesesteak and does good burgers and cheesesteaks. Sit in or takeaway available. I love the new decor too! Friendly staff.

Unfortunately this cafe is closed and is now called Philly Cheese Steak which I never actually saw open, if you want a great breakfast go around the corner to Maggie Mays

We stopped in here for a Saturday morning catch up with family. The breakfast was great and the service matched it. A relaxed , friendly atmosphere with a good quality and reasonably priced breakfast. The staff went out of their way to be helpful!

We called in for some breakfast (all day breakfast - handy for the hangover days!) Gary met us at the door and we instantly felt at home, cracking away with jokes :) first time here loved it will definitely be back!

Called in on sunday to avail of the new takeaway menu, went for the roast beef, the portion size was excellent, two lovely thick slices of beef, creamy mash and lovely cooked vegetables . Highly recommend

Stayed in Belfast for my husbands birthday., food while staying was terrible to say the least (jurys inn hotel) so decided to go out for Sunday breakfast... came across the good reviews online for the allotment. On arrival the outside street view didn't look to promising to be honest, but inside was okay staff was nice and the food was great!! Seems like everyone in Belfast enjoys the food here too as customers just kept coming Left really happy and would 100% come back. Thank you..

We had a great lunch here. Kids meals were prepared on request and we had excellent waiting staff. Nice wee place.

This is the best place for a traditional breakfast, i.e. a fry up. I always get a vegetarian, fried breakfast and it's delicious. The prices are very reasonable. The staff members are very friendly. I always go here for my breakfast when I am visiting Belfast. I would definitely recommend this place.

Food was acceptable for people without restrictions, albeit with smaller portions. But, not so for vegans. Considering how accommodating most restaurants in Belfast are, I don’t consider a condensed breakfast of oddments to be the best “vegan options” I’ve ever had.

Went here by chance after looking for nearby places to eat during a quick stop in Belfast. Greeted by a friendly waitress who upon hearing one of us was Vegan went to fetch the chef who promptly offered to cook me 'anything you like'... Went for a mixed vegetable sandwich with vegan cheese and lentil soup in the end...delicious and a bargain at £6. Meat eaters also well catered for. Couldn't fault this cafe for how welcoming and flexible they were and great price. Also 5 minute walk from the Europa bus/train station. Thank you.

Estuve allí con un amigo la noche que estuve allí, puedo recordar que la camarera te preguntó si querías una nueva comida fresca y la camarera no era más que amable. Acabas de quejarte de que tu salmón no es una de tus otras comidas. Tu esposa fue muy grosera todo el tiempo y la camarera trató de hacerte feliz. Sinceramente, creo que serías del tipo que se queja por una comida gratis. He estado aquí muchas veces y honestamente puedo decir que la comida y el servicio es excelente.

Having read the reviews on here we booked in for an evening meal as we prefer to support small bistro style restaurants rather than the big chains but what a mistake. From the start we were concerned when we were the only guests in the place on a Saturday night when surrounding restaurants were buzzing but we believed the reviews on here and thought it would be worth it.

Such a fab little place , take your own drinks and eat excellent food in there , the owner is amazing loves to come say hello and be sure your food is up to scratch , we had no issues with food best I’ve tasted in a long time , highly recommend this place

Recientemente cené de Navidad en la asignación. Hemos comido aquí como un grupo grande antes y fue muy bueno. Esta vez, sin embargo, todos estuvieron de acuerdo en que estábamos muy decepcionados. Our team had booked Christmas dinner at another Belfast establishment and they wouldn’t meet even the simplest of special dietary requirements of one of the party. Thankfully The Allotment were able to take our last minute booking. The food was delicious, freshly prepared and served piping hot. The chef was so accommodating about any special requests. The price charged was very reasonable for the quality of the food we had and the service was top notch. The waitresses were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend The Allotment to anyone looking a lovely meal in the heart of Belfast City Centre.

Went with a couple of friends last weekend for lunch. Staff were so friendly. Menu choice wasn’t huge but I can honestly say what we had was beautiful and all home cooked. The fact that it was BYO was also an added bonus. See you again folks - we loved it and your hospitality (and the lock in before dinner!!!) My daughter also called as she needed to heat up some baby food for my grandson and they were more than helpful with this too. Definitely a high five from us 4!

Two of us ate breakfast here at the weekend. The place was busy and we got a table. Order was taken for two small fried breakfasts.

I went there on sunday with the boys for a nice easy relexing Sunday. What a way to have that. We went in at 9.15am and was instantly welcome. We sat down and first thing was asked was "coffee sir"? We got out drinks sorted as we got sorted. So when it was time to relex there was no waiting on the coffee. We all were giving the menu and kids being kids, there was no problem picking a choosing our own b/fast. Always a smile on the staffs faces. I had large fry. We got the food and within 5 minutes plate was emtey same with the kids plate. The boys where given a lolly each and atmosphere all round couldn't have been happier with my experience. We followed that up with a walk round the town and on way home got me a coffee to go on way past.

I would avoid.dirty tables.unorganised.girls prefer to stand behind counter.chief comes out with wrong orders then asks loudly to girls why..

My husband and I chose to eat breakfast here. My husband chose the small breakfast which he said was ok. I chose the pancakes and bacon. All I can say is best not to choose the pancakes.They were soaked in some sort of grease which tasted of other fried foods. It was obvious that the pancakes had been fried alongside other foods. The bacon had very probably been reheated and was completely dried up.There was a sparse amount of some kind of syrup on the plate which was most definitely not Maple syrup. The surroundings are dingy to say the least and I wouldn't recommend having food here. I agree with previous reviews that it is a greasy spoon cafe and I cannot see how anyone could give it positive reviews. Best to avoid in my opinion

We went here on Saturday night . A group of 15 ladies to celebrate our friend's special birthday.

We had a group booking for 7 girls and had the best experience. A warm friendly welcome, our champagne placed in the fridge til all guests arrived (£3 corkage), a wonderful seasonal menu with all guests’ requests catered too. The pâté starter was a particular hit! This is so well priced for the city centre and the best service I have experienced in Belfast in a while. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough for a group outing in the city. Thank you!

Visited as a family of 6. Breakfast was delicious including the vegetarian offer. Very friendly service and the food was all freshly cooked. Hope to revisit during our stay.

We dropped in for brunch at The Allotment. At first we thought it was closed because the place was completely empty (a warning sign for us usually). But they were open and welcomed us to sit down. We were the only ones there the whole time we were there. Nonetheless, our food came (after a bit of a surprisingly long time given that there wasn't anybody else there), an omelet and a breakfast bap, and we were very pleasantly surprised that the food was very good.

Centrally located near city hall, this small cafe, unassuming from the outside, serves up classic Ulster Fry, great coffee and warm service. The soda bread is delicious! Very reasonable price too!

We went here on a Friday night as a party of four (two couples) and were drawn by the good reviews and BYOB policy. We ordered mains and desserts and all the dishes were excellent. Waiting staff were good although the overall meal was disturbed by the Hen Party at the large table by the window. Now I appreciate that Hen's are out to enjoy themselves but the noise levels and general disruption had a significant impact on our overall enjoyment. In the circumstances, I think we should have been given the option to rebook rather than sit through the "din" and some diners who came in left before ordering. Something to bear in mind in the future. One little point the apple crumble dessert is weird (see photos) and not what you would expect.

A relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a good hearty Irish ☘️ breakfast. I really enjoyed the taste and texture of he potatoes bread and the soda bread, with my selection. The porridge was also very good with raisons and honey. A good place to start the day in Belfast. I will return again.

The food menu wasn't a lot of choice, we ordered steaks which were not the warmest one had to be sent back as not Cooked to order, the chips were frozen chips from a packet the pepper sauce was tasteless, at 22 pounds for a steak I'd expect better , the staff were friendly but I wouldnt go back as I just didn't enjoy my meal and the restaurant wasn't very warm either

This a nice establishment, only a short walk from Belfast City Hall, with a noce decor and atmosphere about the place. My husband and I both came to this restaurant for lunch and got the soup and sandwhich meal and found the food to be overall good. The only real issue we had was the speed of service. It wasn't busy this particular lunch time and it took over 30 minutes to be served a sandwhich and bowl of soup. We both have a short lunch break so we felt rushed to eat the food once it was served so that we were not late back to work.

10 friends came to this restaurant. One of us were needing gluten-free. So we decided to come here and we were ecstatically happy about our choice. The food was great and the prices were great. Service was fantastic and the lovely lady asked me to review because it was so great and so I obliged. What more could you want :-)

My wife and I had a crackin steak and chips here just last night. We found the food excellent and the owners friendly. Also the fact you could bring your own wine. Perfect Friday night. Highly recommended.

Visited this place with friends as heard good reviews. The decor is nice and staff were pleasant however, waiting 45 minutes for food that wasn’t high quality was a bit extreme. The restaurant was not busy either. Would visit again though.

Entré por mi cuenta y ni siquiera me miraron durante más de 5 minutos a pesar de que había un restaurante casi vacío. Un tipo que parecía ser el dueño se puso a reír con un cliente mientras dejaba la puerta abierta con aire frío flotando. Finalmente, una señora que parecía no saber el precio de las comidas o el precio de un capuchino me sirvió. . Pedí una fritura pequeña y me dieron un pedazo de comida escasa con tocino en exceso que se sentía como un frisbee, un huevo poco hecho y un pan de papa que sabía que estaba empapado en aceite de cocina. En cuanto a la salchicha, este era un espécimen de aspecto desaliñado que no le daría de comer a mi perro. Mala calidad y servicio durante todo el año, no volveré.

Had breakfast at the allotment earlier this month and it was a lovely little find. Warm, homely atmosphere, friendly staff and the Ulster fry breakfast was piping hot, generous portion and very fresh - can highly recommend the pancake tgatvcame with the breakfast!

A busy family run little restaurant/bistro that was very welcoming on arrival. A bit of a wait for food, but it was a busy Saturday night. We could have done without the large noisy party that was there at the same time though. The lamb shank was well cooked and tasty but we always prefer greens with this type of meal. It was a BYO wine restaurant and corkage was reasonable. It needs more staff at busy times, and better heating too( quite drafty at times).

The restaurant was cold, the staff unhelpful, steak underdone. Sent back for another bit of cooking and got a visit from the chef.

Después de ser rechazados por 3 restaurantes, en su mayoría vacíos, que decían no tener asientos disponibles debido a las próximas reservas, nos dirigimos hacia Allotment solo rezando por una mesa para que no nos muriéramos de hambre. A pesar de la limitada decoración y los asientos, nos sorprendió gratamente la excelente calidad de la comida y terminamos teniendo una comida realmente encantadora. Nota: es BYO + tasa de descorche.

After a long day sightseeing in Belfast eight of us needed to Find somewhere to eat. Luckily we hadnt booked anywhere and came across The Allotment in The backstreets. The talented couple who ran this little restaurant couldnt have been more friendly, helpful and produced The most amazing food. Exceptional hospitality, but się would not sell us her painting!!! 16 of us arrived this morning for Breakfast before we went to the may day March for trade unions, the staff were great never got flustered or got anything wrong. The breakfasts were all freshly cooked and we got free top ups as well. We will return next year before the parade but if your in the city give it a try they do great lunches also. Thank you to the staff for you service.

10.30am on a Friday and the place was rammed. Always a good sign. Order taken quickly enough by the friendly waitress. Food arrived shortly after. The "Small Fry" was exactly the hangover cure needed before a day of sight seeing. Well worth the visit.

Found this place on tripadvisor as we were staying at the Fitzwilliam Hotel and wanted somewhere for breakfast that was nearby as the rain was so heavy! We weren't disappointed. Lovely friendly service and great food.

To my better judgement I went inside. It was busy, understaffed, leading to a lack of service and cold food. Concentrated orange at £1.50 a glass and a final bill of over £15 for a simple breakfast for two. Don’t understand the rave reviews.

Me and my family went to the allotment last night and I couldn’t of been happier with my meal!! We all had a starter, a main course and a dessert! And everyone was so pleased with their dishes! La segunda vez en este restaurante te permite traer tu pripia bedida alcohólica y no me podía quejar. La comida era deliciosa, tuve halloumi ensalada que era increíble, pero las otras entradas parecía tan bueno que casi tenía envidia de la placa!
