I came in to the alchemist after having a really bad day but Frankie one of the servers gave me really kind words and made my day so much better and brighter! I would come back to the alchemist just on how lovely and kind Frankie was … thank you so much for making my day better and the amazing drinks!!

I had to take a moment to write about Jason, a truly exceptional waiter at The Alchemist. From the moment I was seated, it felt like I'd walked into a Michelin-starred experience, all thanks to him. His professionalism is second to none, and the way he seamlessly balances friendliness and knowledge is genuinely impressive. Jason has this rare ability to make you feel like anything you could possibly want is right at your fingertips. He doesn't just take your order—he curates an experience. The way he speaks about the food and drinks with such genuine passion makes you want to try everything he recommends, and you can tell it's all coming from a place of real expertise and love for what he does. To be honest, I’ve been to The Alchemist before and had quite a disappointing experience with the service. I wasn’t planning on coming back, but Jason has completely changed my perception of this place. His energy and attitude turned what could have been just another lunch into something special. I honestly wonder if the management realizes how incredibly lucky they are to have someone like Jason on their team. He sets the bar extremely high, and I hope he’s being recognized for the amazing work he does. He’s the kind of person who makes you want to come back—not just for the food, but for the service.

It took one hour for the food and it wasn't that good no Offense(take offense)

I’m writing to share some feedback about a recent visit to your venue, which unfortunately did not meet the high standards I’ve come to expect. I usually visit The Alchemist for both food and drinks and have always had great experiences, but my recent visit for my birthday this year was a letdown. To begin with, our server was difficult to understand as he was wearing a face mask and mumbled quite a bit. He also came across as clumsy—at one point he dropped a pot of mayonnaise, which was particularly distressing for me as I have a strong phobia of mayonnaise. It splashed onto my head and dress, and he didn’t offer an apology or even provide napkins to clean it up. When our drinks arrived, he didn’t wait for the recipient to see or enjoy the visual presentation, which is usually one of the highlights of visiting The Alchemist. It felt rushed and impersonal. The food was also disappointing — it was served cold and was overly salty, which took away from the enjoyment of the meal. Additionally, there was no acknowledgement of my birthday, despite us mentioning the occasion and spending over £400 as a group. A small gesture or recognition would have gone a long way in making the evening feel special. Finally, our server left during our visit without saying anything or introducing someone else who would be taking over. We were left unsure of who to approach for the rest of the service. This experience really fell short of the exceptional service I’ve previously enjoyed at The Alchemist. I hope this feedback can help improve service and consistency for future guests.

Been here a couple of times now and each time it’s been a bit mehhh.. First time was just for drinks and they just felt a bit showy and lacking flavour and definitely not as tasty as I’d remembered from visiting other branches. Last time was for breakfast and as a lover of toffee, passion fruit and white chocolate I was so excited for their pancakes (not a huge pancake fan generally) but it was just kinda mehhhhh… the toffee crisp was ok, passion fruit cream had little flavour and there wasn’t enough of it either, it was all a bit clammy and stodgy - honestly can’t remember what the missus had but I don’t think she enjoyed it that much! Strike 2 of 3 - maybe it’ll be 3rd time lucky?!

Perfect place to wait for my daughter who was visiting the Us Embassy. Attentively served by Jason. The breakfast was divine. All staff great and a warm friendly environment.

I recently went in here due to having to wait for someone at the US Embassy which is opposite, it was 8:30am but they were more than happy for me to sit out of the cold, the waiter was extremely friendly & helpful, I didn’t eat, but even the tea was like something out of Harry Potter, would highly recommend, staff were amazing considering it wasn’t actually officially open til 11am!! The atmosphere was lovely & friendly & was under no pressure to keep spending!! Thank you 🙂

I have always been a big fun of The Alchemist and my last visit did not disappoint me. The ambiance is great, awesome service and delicious food and cocktails. My cocktail of choice was the Plantpot Picante - incredible! Food wise, I had some of the snacks that were great too.

The experience was exceptional upon our arrival. The service was impeccable, the cocktails were among the best we've ever had!

Absolutely amazing place to go for a drink or to get something to eat. Jason was on of the best server I've seen in years and the chicken-in-the-basket was delicious.

My partner and I recently visited The Alchemist Battersea for valentines day. From the moment we walked in everything was perfect. We were greeted by one of the bar staff who took us over to the bar where we take place in a cocktail masterclass. This was lead by Sonny who was absolutely amazing and he made the experience so much fun. he was a good laugh and explained everything very well and was super easy to understand. I made the TnT cocktail and my partner made the French Kiss both were lots of fun to make and drink. We were then brought to our table. To start we ordered calamari and spicy chicken which were both incredible and very well presented. For mains I ordered the fillet steak which was cooked absolutely perfect and my partner ordered the chicken wrap which was nice but not amazing. Then our waitress Frankie (who was also amazing) suggested us to order the Mad Hatter Cocktail which we did and we was not disappointed it was amazing such a cool experience we both had and the staff made it so much more fun as well. Will 100% be returning.

I recently visited The Alchemist Battersea with my partner, and the experience was fantastic. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the modern and elegant decor, creating a very cozy atmosphere. The restaurant’s location, in a vibrant area of London, is also ideal, and considering that, the price of £30 to £40 per person seems quite reasonable. Plus, it’s pet-friendly, which is a big bonus for pet owners! As for the food, I’d give it 4 stars. Most of the dishes were delicious, but the brownie didn’t fully convince me; it seemed to be lacking a bit of warmth and a softer texture, which detracted from its flavor. Despite this, the rest of the dishes were great, and we thoroughly enjoyed the overall culinary experience. What really made our night special, however, was the service from Jason, our waiter. He was extremely attentive, polite, and professional, making sure we were comfortable at all times. His service was flawless, with such a warm and helpful attitude that truly elevated the overall experience. A 10/10 service! In summary, The Alchemist Battersea earns my 5 stars for its excellent atmosphere, customer service, and the overall quality of the food, despite the small issue with the brownie. I would definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place in the area, especially those with pets!

I stopped by for breakfast and needed to get some work done on the computer. You have a very polite and very attentive waiter. Even though the place got crowded, he did not lose his interest. I got the Breakfast Burrito and Capuccino, both were quite delicious.

Being a stones throw away from this restaurant, I find myself eating there a couple of times a week for the past 2 years! The service has always been faultless. The staff are all friendly and accommodating and it's generally just good vibes all around! They have a variety of amazing cocktails for any occasion.

I recently visited this place with a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time. We spent a wonderful time together, enjoying breakfast, drinks, and lunch. The area was lovely, and the food presentation was excellent. We had a great chat in a quiet and pleasant setting. However, one thing felt odd. We requested some tartar sauce for our food, and they brought us a very small bowl of it. What was surprising was that they immediately brought the card machine to charge £1 for it. While I didn’t mind paying the amount but Charging £1 in that manner felt a bit out of place.

Came here for a first date and returned a year later for our anniversary! The staff team are so warm and welcoming, they always go above and beyond making the experience so comfortable and fun. Frankie who served our food and drinks gets a special shout out for taking such good care of us and making our first anniversary unforgettable! :)

Visited the Alchemist Battersea with my family and had an amazing time with great food which had amazing portion sizes and very filling and drinks that were served with great speed and care. Loved both Jason and Frankie for our food and drink service.

Honestly just writing a review to express how great Jason is! I have come to The Alchemist many times and each time I have been served by Jason. He’s so friendly and attentive and has great knowledge of the drinks/food menu! He even brought me and my friend blankets because we were sat outside and I said I was cold. Best customer service, will definitely be back + will recommend to friends to come 😊

The kindness of the gentleman who is always at the restaurant is so energizing. The food was well flavored and decently priced. I could NOT get enough of the chicken fried mushrooms. The texture and flavor are out of this world. Great place for vegan and vegetarian options.

The staff in this restaurant were amazing! So kind, nothing was too much trouble. I had the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup (which was delicious) and tea with dry ice which was a bit different. I was waiting for my son at the embassy, and I cannot recommend this place any higher if you are waiting for someone, they look after you. I wish I had taken names to share but unfortunately I didn’t, I am hoping you know who you are and know I am very grateful to you for being so kind and helpful. I wasn’t rushed at all. The menu was great, I was given the option of the breakfast or lunch menu and could have had several items from both. I am not from London but will 100% visit again next time I am up that way.

Food was amazing (Parmesan tater tots), and drinks as always superb (Screwball our favourite, tongue tied Mai Thai and French Kiss I recommend). The branch opposite the USA Embassy, clapham..Jason was absolutely fantastic keeping me warm to a cup of coffee😊 so friendly and accommodating, Jessy super cool, Hannah awesome and kind. Always enjoy going here for a cocktail and a snack. Food is great and cocktails are brilliant thanks to the different effects and ways they are served. Location is brilliant too short walk from nine elms station and it’s a quite and beautiful area as has gardens and greenery around it.

Stopped by for a full cooked breakfast. Great tables outside to watch the world go by and friendly service. Portion size of the full English was a bit disappointing (could have been a bigger- 1 sausage is a bit stingey and having to pay to add hashbrowns felt a little upsold given the full breakfast already costs £13) apart from that though the actual food and latte were excellent!

The food and drinks were good as always in the Alchemist. The service was fantastic here. My phone suddenly died and the manager Jono gave me his portable phone charger which saved the day! He was a legend and the staff couldn't have been friendlier.

A large selection of drinks on offer, I had Brixton pale ale, which is a fragrant and slightly hoppy beer (fantastic). The food was fresh and tasty, and the service was fabulous. Our server was Jason, who was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A great place to eat and drink.

Fancy nice cocktails with a bit of wow effect than this is the right place. The Alchemist is a chain of cocktail bars serving magical cocktails and this location is their largest so far. There are plenty of seats inside but on nice warm summer nights you can also enjoy your cocktails outdoors. This branch also serves food like burgers, fajitas, steaks and more so you can enjoy a meal with your drinks. Service is pretty good and cocktails are great.

Popped in for a light lunch today, the place is beautifully set, the bar and waiting team are great and the food and drinks are superb. Most definitely recommend

My son and I were overwhelmed by the warm welcome and prompt service from Henna and colleagues while visiting today. The food was excellent (smashed potato & egg with kimchi green sauce, spinach etc for me, French dip steak sandwich for him) but it was the friendliness of the staff that created such a lovely atmosphere and put us at ease so we could enjoy our visit. I loved it. Went for my daughters birthday. The drinks were cool ( she had a colour changing one) food was lovely, not over priced at all. I enjoyed the music. The only thing I was disappointed with is that we couldn't seem to leave a tip for our amazing waiter Jason. ( unless we missed it and the payment part) so take some cash with you. Jason was amazing, very helpful very knowledgeable knew the menu inside out gave us recommendations and suggestions and he was super friendly and also took my allergy very seriously. Go there ASAP.. ask for Jason ( I'm sure the rest are just as good )

What can I say, The Alchemist food and drinks are always on point, not only that, the service was amazing too, got served by a young gentleman called Xandra, what a amazing guy, I asked him about the contents of the food, he wasn't too sure and then got back to me with great information, if it was anyone else, they would not have bothered, what a lovely guy, had an amazing smile, he is an absolute credit to your restaurant, the food was also really nice, freshly cooked, will definitely be coming again due to amazing staff and great food.

We came here at 11 o’clock and the staff told us this is the last order so she asked us to order more! The drinks came to the table on a quarter pass 11, the funny thing is the manager came to us have to leave in 15 mins coz they gonna close on 11:30, it was so ridiculous! We trying to argue but the manager said I will call police if you won’t leave at 11:30! They took all drinks at 11:30 even we did not finish it!

The Alchemist was incredible. We had a busy day of touring and wanted to chill somewhere near our AirBnB flat. Couldn’t be happier with this choice. Bartender performed some magical chemistry on 4 cocktails and we had the edamame. Pipe Dream, Red Zombie, Bubblebath and color changer. Would love to try more cocktails!

I recently visited Alchemist Bar and Restaurant (Battersea) on Sunday, 19th May, to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the experience was absolutely dreadful. From the moment we arrived at 7:30 PM, the staff were incredibly rude, displaying sarcastic attitudes and blatantly ignoring our group of 16. Despite having a reservation, we didn't receive our drinks until 8:15 PM, and our starters didn't arrive until 9:00 PM. To make matters worse, our main courses only arrived at 9:30 PM, after an agonisingly long wait. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the poor service throughout the night. The main course I ordered was poorly made, and after waiting so long, I refused to pay for it. When I voiced my dissatisfaction, the waiter became visibly upset. As someone who works in hospitality, I tried to explain that this was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Shockingly, the waiter began to aggressively question me about where I worked, threatening to come to my workplace. This kind of behaviour is utterly unacceptable and beyond unprofessional. Given that this was a special occasion with a bill totalling nearly £700, I expected far better treatment and service. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as no customer should ever be subjected to such hostility and incompetence. This experience has ensured that I will never return to Alchemist Bar and Restaurant, and I will be advising others to avoid it as well.

Service is very hit or miss, depending on who’s serving you. Also if you’re sitting outside they forget about you. Anyways food is always amazing and so is the drinks. Some of the staff needs more training, then it’s 5 stars :)

Didn’t eat this morning but had hot drinks to shelter from the rain whilst waiting for my daughter. Lovely service, lovely drinks and I would have eaten here too but we had to go closer to train station to be sure to catch our train home. Will visit again.

I would review the breakfast food but it’s taking so long to get here I’ll end up reviewing dinner at this rate. Never seen so many staff look so busy but achieve so very little. Ooh, food finally here so I’ll give that a 3 star as managed to get it warmish

I visited with some friends hoping to enjoy their bottomless brunch, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. Let me begin with the only positive aspect: the drinks were decent. However, they took forever to arrive, and half of them tasted awful. The food options were extremely limited, and even when they finally arrived, they were disappointing. Most of what we wanted from the menu wasn't available. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place for brunch at all! Additionally, I observed the manager shouting and swearing at the staff, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. I asked our waitress about it, and she confirmed that this was a common occurrence. Despite asking multiple times, we received inconsistent responses regarding when our brunch time would be over. One staff member even said, "I don't really want to ask because I don't want to get shouted at."

I returned to this place in my time in town for its service, food quality, cleanliness, and safe, quiet location. I recommend 100%.

I had my 20th birthday dinner here! Beautiful beautiful location. Even the gardens outside allow a wonderful area to roam around after dinner and drinks. Jason was our server - he was an absolute sweetheart! Thank you very much to him for helping us through the night (We were a table of 11 so I know it can’t have been easy). Food was amazing and drinks even more so! We had a wonderful time, thank you for the special evening. Oh and I recommend the French kiss drink for a little drama and fun if you have a sweet tooth like me :)

went 2 days ago with a friend for an early dinner, and was really pleased with the service and food. I’d give the food a solid 9/10. On the other hand I’d give the overall experience a 10/10, because of our waiter Jason. I confidently say that I haven't had had a waiter this good and so dedicated to make everyone feel so welcome. It was the highlight of my time at the Alchemist. I will definitely be coming back.

Really had a blast - been here on my birthday and I absolutely loved: the service, atmosphere and of course, the fabulous cocktails! I’m a bit embarrassed I am struggling to remember the gent that was serving us for the whole time, he was absolutely the definition of going over and beyond - this happened on Saturday 23 March around 2pm (it was 6 of us). I would love him to know that he has made our day and made the overall experience 5/5 stars! Will be back.

Went in to use the loo and ended up having breakfast! « Jason » the nicest person I’ve ever met in the Uk so far, told me not to worry about using the toilet without ordering food as most places require you to be a customer. I had a latte with oat milk and it was rich and well made. The food was fine but the service was immaculate. You should always tip « Jason » and management should give him a raise.

Honestly the best spicy margarita I’ve ever had! We sat at the bar and enjoyed few cocktails and nibbles ! The bartender Troy was absolutely fantastic!! Great service, super friendly and made us delish cocktails!!! Defo going back there to try more food and drinks ! Highly recommend!!!

Stopped for brunch and a coffee before a meeting nearby. Excellent quality healthy food, beautifully presented. Service was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Excellent coffee and beautiful decor. Our daughter was astonished that I was messaging her from The Alchemist - she says she's never managed to get inside for cocktails! So I gained a little street cred along the way. Great place to meet friends for business or pleasure.

I booked the cocktail Masterclass for the end of February for a hen party. It was simply one of the best things we as a group have ever done. As we were a large group, they catered to us very well. We made 2 drinks and got a free drink upon arrival which were amazing! The vibes were the best, I'm definitely booking this again with some friends. The "teacher" (I belive his name was Troy, sorry if I'm wrong) was pure vibes and defo made it better. Thank you so much for a fun time.

I was on a stroll and came across this place. Decided to come in an it was an absolute delight. Jason was so attentive and extremely welcoming and I was also taken care of by Anaya who was also amazing. They have a good number of vegan food options which was the reason I decided to come in also.

He ensured our drinks were ordered and table cleared throughout our stay. We were really impressed with his enthusiasm, friendliness and assistance. It’s an amazing place , I loved the food 🤩

Visited with my partner and although the drinks were good, I think we were served by somebody who was new, she spilled drinks and dropped our food. Also didn’t do any of the usual theatre you get which is half the point of the venue. Food was also cold. Not the usual level of service received at Alchemist bars.

Had our works party here and was completely blown away by how amazing the staff were. Valentina and Anne Marie were assigned to us and their service was impeccable serving our every need with professionalism and importantly smiling the entire time. The positive attitude from all the staff permeates from the top from Ben who manages his team extremely well. I also have to mention the quality of the cocktails which were outstanding. Definitely worth a visit great job guys thanks for having us.

Spectacular, incredible food, I will definitely come back again

Had a very positive experience here on Saturday. We visited for the boundless brunch, the food options weren’t the best compared to other brunches but the food that we ordered was still nice. The cocktails are deffo the main attraction! Every cocktail was delicious (and strong!) and presented beautifully. Our server, Jason, was sooo lovely and really went above and beyond to make our visit great. All staff were friendly, polite and super helpful. Overall fabulous time and would deffo go back 😊
