We went here for afternoon tea following an overpriced experience elsewhere. Friendly welcome, comfortable chairs and a fire - we were off to a good start. Terri the owner brought through a plate of fresh sandwiches, a plate of savoury rolls , then scones and pancakes followed by a cake stand with small cakes. We could have as much tea and coffee as we wanted and Terri came through to check that we had everything we needed. Excellent value for money and just the place to spend a dank day in October.

I booked rooms at The Albert Hotel for my colleagues who were working in the area over a period of weeks. The owners/staff have been beyond accommodating, I have spoken with Terry on a few occasions & she has always been helpful and went out of her way to make the guys stay enjoyable. They have raved about the place! If I ever need to book somewhere in the Peterhead area for personal or business reasons, I will not hesitate to contact Terry.

I had already eaten in the Bothy Bar which I had really enjoyed, and knew this was from the same kitchen. I thought the menu wasn't really interesting enough for a hotel. My main of smoked haddock and poached egg was all right, but unremarkable.

We always have a meal at this hotel when in Peterhead. This year we all decided on the sirloin steak which was excellent as always. We cannot fault this restaurant at all - the food is always well cooked and tasty and the staff are always very helpful and friendly. Even the drinks are very reasonably priced and are cheaper than you would expect to pay in a hotel.

We had afternoon tea at the Albert Hotel in Peterhead today and I cannot recommend it to potential visitors enough. There was lots of tea and coffee (and we can drink tea) and the selection of cakes, sandwiches, scones, pancakes and warm savoury pastries was excellent and certainly more than we could eat. But no worries the leftovers were all boxed up so we could take them home. It was a lovely afternoon and all for the very reasonable price of £10. Certainly good value and lovely room all to ourselves.

My friends and I decided to try the Albert for a mid week supper after hearing good reviews.I had booked through messenger (Facebook) and the booking was confirmed, however later that day I messaged again asking to change the time of the booking for half an hour later than I had originally booked. I never got. Reply but assumed it would be okay. When my friends and I arrived an elder woman met us at the door and barked "your late" I explained that I had messaged and changed the time of the booking, The woman was having none of it, saying "there is no record of the time being changed!" After being told where to go and sit The woman still bumped her gums about no record of time change. I took out my mobile and showed her the message I had sent which she wouldn't look at and STILL insisted that she knew nothing about a change of time, and informed us that if we had been a few minutes longer we wouldn't have got any food at all as the chef was getting ready to leave! The woman's attitude was very abrupt and NOT at all welcoming.3 of us agreed that the food was "nice and that there was plenty of it, however the 4th person had ordered chicken curry and it wasn't until she was nearly finished that she realised there were 2 different kinds of chicken in her curry, fresh chicken breast and processed chicken which u would buy in packs for sandwiches etc. My friend chose not to mention this as she thought it would be too much hassle and didn't want any arguments from the woman.Although this first experience was not the best I would go back and give the Albert another try.

My Partner, daughter and myself visited The Albert last Saturday, early evening. We were greeted quickly, and sat in the bar area with our 15 month old daughter and asked to wait until she 'found' us a table, the manager then came through and said oh no no you can't sit in here with a child and insisted we moved straight way, when we then said we were sat here by the waitress she said yes and I'm moving you to a table, I'm in charge here. Anyway, we sat and we ordered our daughters first - starter of garlic bread and main of sausages and mash.. The garlic bread came quickly, and was rock hard, her main then came and no exaggeration here the mashed potatoes looked like a plate of lumpy rice pudding and there was little chipolatas. It was edible and actually quite tasty, just presentation could definitely improve. We ordered ours, of starters - haggis and sweet potato Bon bons and a fish platter, they were both very tasty and presented well. I ordered the steak rare with hand cut chips and asked if they had any peppercorn sauce as it wasn't an option on the menu, she said the chef could make me one which he did and was very tasty. The steak was not rare, it was medium, and the way it was presented on the plate was awful, there was a side of cream cheese potatoes, new potatoes, vegetables, mushrooms, and what I'm presuming were supposed to be like onion rings, but looked like they'd been sitting in a fryer for 3 days, anyway the steak was too over done for me and I put it back, I said I didn't want another one I would just look at the dessert menu, the manager then came to my table rather rudely and said I tasted that steak and it was definitely rare next time you should order it blue. I proceeded to say that it wasn't rare it was medium and she continued to argue with me, all in all the food was a let down, as was the atmosphere and attitude of the manager. I absolutely would not go back and wouldn't recommend it.

Came here for my friend's birthday meal, and didn't have the best experience unfortunately! The menu was a bit limiting and for someone who eats out a lot, I found it really hard to find something on the menu to eat- as did my friends! We all ended up ordering more or less the same dish! When ordering our side portions it almost seemed as if it was a big deal to the waitress. We waited quite some time for our meal to arrive and then when it did, quite a few of us didn't enjoy it. Then when we asked to pay the bill separately it was another carry on! All in all, I wouldn't rush back here sadly.

Good location as close to town centre although may struggle to get parked on the street at the front. The dining areas are not the biggest so booking is definitely recommended – there is also a large room at the back which is great for booking out for private dining such as birthdays. The lunches we have had here have been perfect and on one occasion we also had an afternoon tea which was also super!!In terms of evenings, although they have a great menu and my meal has been fine every time, my partner and friends steaks have been wrong every time - why bother to ask how they want their steak cooked if they just bring it out the wrong way anyway? We pointed it out but said we were happy enough to just stick with what we were given rather than waste time swapping all the plates about (as the sauces on top of the steaks were all different we could not really correct the mistake ourselves). However one or two of the waitresses attitudes were quite rude and unprofessional, including one even mouthing off about one of the fact that one of our guy friends had said he was not happy with his steak being cooked wrong to the rest of the group!!It is one of the nicer places to eat out for dinner in Peterhead but a few improvements are needed.

Party of 4 went for dinner Saturday night. 2 had chicken marylands and 2 had chicken & pork strips with Stilton and walnut sauce. Chicken in the marylands was very dry and they came served with boiled salad potatoes and potatoes cooked in a cream sauce.... The party of 4 were also provided with a small pudding bowel of chips - frozen, not the norm for this place... They normally serve real chips..? The chicken and pork dish was a real disappointment, it had been pre cooked and kept warm this resulted in the meat being dry and the chicken stringy. The sauce didn't taste of Stilton at all... I actually wonder if there was any in it in the first place. Desserts were lovely according to my fellow diners... I didn't partake but the trio of ice cream was massive and topped with a strawberry dipped in white chocolate while the ban offer and waffle cheese cake was appreciated by the others. Food on Saturday night was not of the standard normally served here.

We are now regulars at the Seafield Arms as it is so good. It was my birthday and where else would we go for a special meal. This time, we tried the surf and turf block. We were not disappointed as the seafood and steak were cooked to perfection. As well as the fresh local vegatable selection. The hotel manager had to get up at 4am to get the lobster. That is dedication to perfection. Our friend had a sirloin steak, cooked to her satisfaction. Our daughter had the mac and cheese and was more than happy. The girls finished the meal with sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee. Yum Yum. The service was professional and very friendly. We have a concern, what will we have to eat the next time as it is all so good.
