Dirty, nothing on the breakfast counter, 2 staff 1 had only just started absolutely shocking

We had a gathering there for my mum The service was great and the food was delicious thank you.

Visited for breakfast whilst staying in the next door Premier inn. On entry we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated in the virtually empty restaurant, because there were no staff to be seen - one of our party eventually asked one of the kitchen staff ,who found someone to seat us. There was no explanation of how the buffet worked or the cost. There was a good choice of continental or cooked breakfast items, but IMO the pastries were not very good quality. The plates ran out, there was no ketchup or marmalade available - it was all a bit unloved. When we went to pay we were asked whether we'd had continental or cooked , as there's a difference in price - surely a standard price would be better as most of our party had a combination of the two. Not up to the usual standard I'm afraid.

Visited the Airfield Brewers Fayre tonight, and was disappointed with the amount of food and drink on offer. We were a table of 8 people where most were not able to order the food they had wanted due to having very limited stock. When the food came out it was not to its normal standard, however, our server Sam was extremely lovely and very accommodated. We could visibly see he was being put under a lot of stress however, was still very friendly and professional. I would not recommend for people to come here other than for the gin and lemonades!!

We had this Airfield Pub in Hatfield book for fathers day a week in advance And Management called up night before to Say they Run out of Food ??🤔 Don't brother using this Venue when Times are gonna be Busy as seems they can't Cope !!

If I could give no star I would totally discussed we book a table for father's day to be call today they cancelled our booking with the excuse no food been delivered total joke

Portion sizes are a very stingy

Sam and chloe are the best, bartender ever. Nice smile, look after the customers. Always there to help the customers.

Hardly no food out and the food that was out ran quickly and was no more to offer. For a bank holiday Monday was disappointing, but for the food that was out very nice as always.

Firstly, the staff were lovely. Very attentive and caring. The food on the other hand was atrocious. The food came out very fast. We had 3 courses and they manged to get every one wrong. The Caulibites were raw inside but looked overcooked. The fish and chips were awful. The fish didn't taste right and the batter looked burnt. The oil obviously hasn't been changed in a long time. The presentation was shameful. The sticky toffee pudding was almost cold in the middle but the custard was boiling. The brownie was like mashed potato. It was mushy, soggy and smelt burnt. The refillable drinks were flat. We left most of the food uneaten. The loght over our table was out so it was dark and gloomy. This place needs to step it up. This is one of the worst brewers fayre I've been to. They shouldn't let food leave the kitchen like this. The entire building is run down and needs an overhaul. Not at all impressed. The staff are lovely but need retraining. Especially the kitchen. I would be ashamed if this were my kitchen and food was leaving with all these problems.

Walked past today and what a dive. Either people had had a heavy session by half 11 this morning or they hadn't bothered to clean up the beer garden from last night, grim

Had the Mac and cheese over cooked

We went there on Monday asked for a 2 for 11.49 menu was told it’s bank holiday it doesn’t apply (nothing in the menu to state this), their website says they have a softplay well they do not have one. Despite all this I wanted to order anyways but there was no one to take the order or ask any question! Also it’s very cold inside. I would not recommend this place! Avoid! Better places for cheaper!

Wanted to share a meal with 4 guys from our church. The place was empty and we got refused a table because we didn't book. We wanted to eat outside that's not good service

We walked over at 15:30 on Sunday as we often do. Looked around and the place was pretty empty. Was asked if we were looking for a table for 2, said no, 4 please, were then told that as they are short staffed they are only taking bookings. I won't be in a hurry to go back

Easter Sunday at the Airfield. Carvery has goto be the best in Hatfield. 3 meats Turkey, Gammon and Beef. Huge Yorkshire puddings and the best Macaroni cheese! . Drinks reasonable with a choice of wines, cocktails, Beers on tap. Staff always have a smile especially Chole , Victoria and Xanthe and the chap carving the meat ( Jamie) My Mum said carved beautifully !Had a lovely time with great company and good food will definitely be back very soon. 🙂

Sticky tables toilet need A good wash

My husband, 3 children and I had a lovely Mother's Day lunch today at The Airfield Brewer's Fayre. Staff were very helpful and doing their best to serve everyone.

The pub is in a good place for motorway travel stopover. Premier Inn for longer. Plenty car park space. Friday was nasty, windy, rainy day. Not busy, staff had every right to be miserable, but were very friendly and helpful. Two of us met for catchup lunch. Not big slapup so one drink and light meal. May well use venue again for larger meetups.

Came for Sunday carvery, was much better ! New chef is spot on.

everything was in tip top condition will definitely come again from Belgium

We had lunch here on a Sunday at just after 1pm. Food was generally quiet good but service was extremely slow and spoilt the experience.

Overall an ok brewers fayre attached to an underwhelming premier inn that I think is a bit outdated and a little tired, could do with a revamp, brewers fayre is mediocre with ok food but nothing special, some items on the menu weren't available which in my opinion is never much good, didn't have any bread for toast etc at breakfast which I found poor, and milk was served still in the plastic bottle it was delivered in, overall some attention to detail is required here

First time here for office Xmas party. Place was very quiet, a few locals who had a chat with us and were nice. Food was quick and delicious. Staff were friendly and relaxed and they had a laugh and jokes with us.

Didn't actually eat here. We wanted lunch but they were short staffed so only doing carvery. It looks nice and clean. Will probably go back another time

This used to be a very popular bar and a great place to eat at a reasonable price. But I ate here recently and the service was so slow, food was cold and I never enjoyed my meal as it was tasteless l. I shan't be returning in a hurry.

Fabulous deal and meal with my family

Having read some of the reviews we weren't expecting much, but very pleasantly surprised. Customer service from Will was excellent and food was great, especially the Nachos which were some of the best we've had. We felt the Smother Platter was also great value for money.

Casual place to visit with a calm environment!

Small portions, the vegan coleslaw was a joke, literally 2 mouthfuls.

It's a beautiful place for out, any kind of small party, nice food, excellent service, almost everything is good, recommended

On arrival you were greeted by a lady who clearly didnt want to be there i asked for sparkling water and managed to get still we ordered food when it arrived the burger was cold i had smothered chicken with bacon the bacon was cold the coleslaw and salad were supposed to be in bowls instead they were on the plate and everything was in a bowl the burger was changed for a fresh one which we were supposed to appreciate that good job no one had a thermometer to sum up it was rubbish nobody cared its the first time i haven't left a tip and we wonder why the hospitality industry is in the toilet

I ordered the Big Stack Burger, taste is ok, so no complain. The service is not the best, the lady who serve us looks miserable and seems not that happy to what she is doing. You don’t need to wait to get a table, you just need to grab your own and order the food and pay in the bar straight away. There’s a lot of parking space which is free for 3 hrs.

Empty, very friendly and helpful service.

This brewers fayre is getting a bit old now and could benefit from a refit . The burger fries and coleslaw was good and at a reasonable price

Fish and chips were very nice, but the batter was a bit greasy, apart from that very nice.

Great food at reasonable pricing. The staff are top and really great people, it is a real pleasure to dine in.

It's linked to the Premier Inn Hotel next door, so I went there to try their Premier Inn breakfast. At £9.99 for unlimited food and drinks, it is far better value than most other places, once you include fruit juices, cereals, yoghurt, croissants, hot drinks and everything, in addition to the hot breakfast items. It's all self service and was up to Premier Inn's normal high standards.

The only reason I would give this restaurant one star is because you can’t not give any. It was absolutely horrendous from start to finish. Went for a carvery, and there was no carvery as they had run out of food. Ordered mains and once they arrived one meal was wrong and we had all finished by the time the right meal had come out, then we ordered dessert and only 3 came out, the rest were completely forgotten and dinner plates still remained on our table until we left. Disgusting experience.

Went up to bar see the beers we wanted then had to walk over to the staff as didn't acknowledge she said I'm at my till come over to me this is wrong the server should of come over to us so we went to her ordered the drinks 1 beer got put my us the 2nd got put half way up the bar my friend asked if there was a cash point or cash back at bar had to ask twice my larger got poured into a cider glass I was talking to my friend privately they over heared us came over and was rude I stated to the server that as I'm an expublican and said they should of come over to us to ask us what we wanted then we could of had the option of then going to the server to pay of they come back to us not just to be told I'm at my till then 2 others came in and the server was still arguing at us she said she new them and let someone else serve them they should of left us and served them not just keep moaning at us we walked away

Been 2 Sundays and both times food limited in choice but ok. Beef was not tough or fatty. For the price it was good.

Been to The Airfield just the once to meet for tea, coffee and breakfast and it's spot on, would definitely recommend this establishment.

Went for a carvery ....staff were not very clear what the vegetarian option was. Said to us and another customer that it was just the vegetables, until we saw what it should be on the menu above the carvery food( it's not on the main menu) Chef said he had ordered it for us with the gravy when we went up for the food.....it did not appear after 25 mins....lots of confusion by staff at the bar looking underneath the carvery section when we went to talk about it !!! Think staff should make an effort to know the menu better but even the chef serving didn't seem that clear. Poor service, long wait to be served and not even received the order we wanted. Just be aware if your vegetarian that you may be waiting a long time and need to help staff to understand what is being requested.

bar staff are hopeless, they don't know their own business or what food they have left or even their own menu. They cannot communicate with the kitchen.

Cheap place to eat when staying next door at the hotel. Food is OK and bar service most of the time. Post before you eat.

Absolutely fabulous service for breakfast. Our host Will was outstanding and tended to everyone perfectly. Massive group of us for 5 year old birthday brekkie, food was lush, staff were amazing and we sll had a great relaxing time. Thanks to all staff especially Will 😃

It was my birthday yesterday and so we decided to breakfast in style. The English breakfast was superb and special mentions must go out to Mason who took care of us with a happy and friendly demeanour. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Also, good coffee!

We Waited 20 minutes to be served at the bar , then the bar staff asked a man next to me ( who had just arrived) what he would like to drink, thankfully the chap next to me pointed out that I had been waiting for a while. I ordered 4 gin and tonics , to be informed they had run out of glasses and did I mind a pint glass ! We settled for a brandy glass of Gin and Tonic. This was followed by the tonic water situation … there was no normal tonic water , only low calorie or lemonade … erm no thank you., again we settled for the only choice Fevertree. I ordered food , cauliflower bites with Peri peri sauce … laughably I was served a large dish of Tomato sauce instead of peri peri , however at this point I was exasperated and just accepted the food as I was now keen to leave . My friends and I stayed at the premier inn and had breakfast booked the following day … which we were dreading, however, with the exception of the coffee machine not working , the food and service was much improved ( different staff) .

Good food, great staff, service excellent especially as it was pretty busy.. nice crowd of people in the pub too.

Had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. Went for a quick meal, but our order never reached the kitchen and we had to request a refund after 40 minutes of waiting. Despite the restaurant being empty, there seemed to be staff constantly going in and out of the kitchen. They refunded our food but not our drinks, without any apology or gesture of goodwill. Left hungry and without time to find another place to eat before our meeting.

Shockingly bad food rubber chicken 🐔 cold food long wait for food

Woeful. That's the only word for it. Just used this place as part of an overnight in the Premier Inn next door. The first day, we tried to order drinks at the bar. The place wasn't busy, but we were ignored by staff who were too busy having conversations. When we finally did get served, the bar staff had no idea what they were doing, so started another conversation. Rule of thumb in customer service is, engage with your customer. If you struggle apologies as this goes a long way. Sunday morning we got up and went from the hotel to get our limitless breakfast? We waited at the sign saying please wait to be seated and was again ignored by the staff. When we got in everything is serve yourself. The limitless breakfast should be called the limited breakfast. Free for all. No staff. Nothing being brought out to replace the empty food plates. Coffee machine broken. No cups. No plates. No bread. Ask staff and they have no idea. No management anywhere. All I saw was bad service, knackered equipment and demoralised staff. MANAGEMENT. THIS IS DOWN TO YOU. NOT THE STAFF. This is no way to run a business and certainly no way to treat your customers

Popped in for dinner late afternoon on a Sunday. We got a table straightaway as it was surprisingly quiet. Order at the bar service. All the staff were friendly and talkative whilst going about their work. The food came out quickly and everyone (including the kids) emptied their plates. Female toilets closed due to a flood of some sort but the disabled toilets were open and clean. Access is disabled friendly.

Staff r so lovely food is of a good standard. Wish it was a little cooler in the building its a little warm inside

Slow Service I was part of a dinner party. This was booked weeks in advance and the food was pre-ordered. ➡️However, the Service was unacceptably slow. One of the Managers made an unjustified claim that this was because the place was busy. This was simply not true. The service was unjustifiably slow. They had several weeks' notice in anycase. ➡️A waitress was just so miserable too. Service with a Snarl. Avoid this place. The 'background' music was too intrusive. The food itself was OK but service and ambience very poor. Generally: ➡️The Sunday Carvery is terrible. The beef is as touch as old boots. ➡️And if you go there in the evening it is very dark. You can hardly see the menu. ➡️Service is very slow whatever time you go. ➡️ They get orders mixed up ➡️ Some guests allow their kids to run around and disturb everyone else I don't recommend this place at all.

Like using this as a meeting place for work meetings as the service is excellent and they have plenty of seating options, food is good for the price point.

We had a Buffet held here on Monday after my Mother in law 's funeral & we must say that everything was fantastic with a good selection of sandwiches & nibbles & would definitely recommend a party there for anyone & staff were so kind & helpful.

Slow, slow, slow. It wasn't busy at all, yet it took over an hour for my husband to get his meal. We had to ask approx 5 times for it. I had a carvery which wasn't great. Only carrots and peas no other veg on offer. Roast potatoes were frozen and although crispy outside, were still hard inside. Manager and server at carvery talking in French to each other?? Not enough staff.

Very bad experience. Went with my family for Saturday lunchtime and we didn't feel welcime. the service was inexistent. Cups, tea pot and cuttlery were dirty, the jug where the milk was had braun mark on top. It was used previously for gravy. Very unpleasant atmosphere. The staff who was supposed to service us was rude. Not really impressed with the whole experience. Would not recommend it.

Full of 'travellers' utter nightmare. Took an age to get served, couldnt wait to get out.

Hardly any staff about, tables and plates were dirty. Hardly any food available and it looked uncooked. A guy was waiting for 15 minutes just for more food to be added. Got a refund and left, will not be returning.

Had lunch here with visiting family, the service, food and staff were excellent. Such friendly helpful staff and meal was delicious. The new menu was so varied something for everyone, will be coming back very soon. Ten out of ten.

Awful experience. Order mixed grill and peppercorn sauce. Steak cooked incorrectly, no cutlery provided for 5 mins, still no peppercorn at table, told another 5 mins as it's frozen. So I send the food back. Which has been heated up until sauce is ready so all food is over cooked and rubbery. Sauce not even defrosted properly. About 10 customers in the entire restaurant too. Shameful

There was no staff poor service and there was kids running around the place

Have visited twice now due to travelling and still not had mustard or horseradish to have with steak also they advertise their special gins with flavoured tonics and fresh raspberries and blackberries and mint garnish and none of this was available

Food was much better than Last time I visited a couple of years ago. I had a steak well done and it was delicious. The sharing platter starter at the moment is very generous for 2 so definitely worth getting. Might be worth taking some cash here if you don't want to open a tab at the bar for your table as there's a limit around card spending which we didn't understand from the lad at the bar when ordering our meal. We were happy to open a tab but it might be an issue if you want to split the bill 👍

Not for vegetarians. It’s average in my view. Even usual items are not that great. Seems like an average American outpost.

Good buffet breakfast, tasty coffee, and plenty of healthy options.

We booked a table for 6 well in advance, due to be there for 6:30pm. We ordered starters, mains, and planned to eventually order desserts. It unfortunately took so long to get any food at all that we ended up leaving without desserts. We also ordered 6 bottomless drinks, but the Dr Pepper wasn’t working properly and so we sat and drank what I can only guess was sparkling water- we were not warned of this before pouring said drink. Of the 6 starters we ordered, they took a long time, and one of them was actually wrong and took yet another 20 minutes or so to fix that. Once we had devoured our (admittedly nice) starters, we waited another hour before actually receiving any mains. Of the 6 mains, one had strangely cold chips, but the other 4 were fine- however, the mac and cheese took another half an hour after this to actually come out! To their credit, the servers are the loveliest people and I believe a refund was arranged due to the awful food waiting times- but we were told “there’s a shortage of kitchen staff” which quite frankly is unacceptable if you’re willing to take said bookings in the first place- even a warning that food may be slightly later would have sufficed but we had nothing at all. At the end, we tried to speak to the manager, to voice our issues and they refused to come out, leaving us to deal with the bar staff (who, again, were absolutely brilliant and in no way at fault). After reading previous reviews on trip advisor, I can completely see where they’re coming from!

Awful experience. The young staff are trying but it’s like a ship with no captain No older / manager staff seen Food was awful, salad was dry and wilted, food warm only Menus were dirty Most food on menu was not available

Avoid like the plague. Ordered nacho starter, chicken and mushroom pie and the gammon as mains. Mains came out before starter. When starter came out it wasn't what we ordered. Staff are young and untrained. The wrong starter should never have made it out of the kitchen.

Booked a table when arrived told to find my own table and order at bar, ordered food just after 620pm starter come out withing 10 mins then waited over an hour for main course, ask for steak to be well done it come out rare! How does that work get new chefs better chefs you might be able to get more custom

Not very busy on arrival . But got busier shortly after our arrival. Only one member of staff manning the bar. Service was excellent. Had Chicken gougons from the 2 for £9.99 . Very enjoyable. My only bad point was the coffee machine was out of action. But that's all.
