The 27 Spices in Luton

I recently dined at 27 Spices in Luton, and it was fantastic evening. The decor is elegant yet cozy, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. We ordered Punugulu they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a perfect balance of spices. They were served with a peanut chutney that complemented them beautifully—a fantastic start to the meal. And Chicken Dum Biryani was the star of the show! The rice was fragrant, the chicken was tender and juicy, and the layers of flavour were incredible. Overall, this meal was a true celebration of authentic flavors. If you’re looking for a hearty, satisfying, and delicious dining experience, these dishes are a must-try. Highly recommended!

Mauton Mandi was sooo good and the piece was so smooth and was delicious,pungulu was crispy and chutney was thick and tasty ,and dosa was too good and loved it 😍🤤😻😻

It was the worst biriyani I ever had in my life. Briyani was too salty, not tasty at all. Previously it used to be a very good restaurant. Now I am very much disappointed with the taste and quality. I heard that the chef and the management got changed.

I recently visit this restaurant ,the food was impressive and quick service. The staff was very friendly and attentive , this shop was very neet and clean. I order chicken biryani it's very tasty,and after I will order disa it's very good test and nice curry.

Butter nan is not cooked and it’s like a raw dough and in chutney no salt and punugulu are fried in greese and Biriyani is not with rice it’s with oil and paneer curry has not paneer just salt …. Too bad …. Worst worst worst they are making money no service

We were here to celebrate the birthday of my friend. The ambience is calming and elegant. We ordered Royyala Vepudu, Natukodi Vepudu and Ulavacharu Biryani. The first taste took me back home for an instance and everything is worth the price. The serving was a bit late but the taste was worth the wait. The staff were friendly and humble. I'm gonna visit again soon.

Recently we’ve been to 27 spices to experience & taste some good food but came out with a major disappointment, the service is extremely bad as the staff never bothers about the customers, they aren’t even welcoming & there’s no service etiquette’s! Also the food standards are too low, we’ve ordered Mysore bonda, it was not cooked properly from inside, they just served it just like that with out sambar n ginger chutney, later we asked for it and they gave us a chutney which seemed like leftover, they even charged extra 50 pence each for sambar n chutney! Also the vegetable manchurian is totally raw from inside, got a replacement with Gobi manchurian though! I just feel it’s an over hyped restaurant without any standards! I hope the management addresses all these issues! Overall it was a worst experience with 27 spices restaurants food & service! Never gonna visit again

We have been to this place a few times in the last couple of years. It used to be a very good place, but we were disappointed with our last visit. Whether it was the food quality or the service, it was not good. The Veg Manchurian was very hard and not cooked properly. The uthappam was very plain. The butter naan tasted like the dough had fermented for more than a few days. We informed the lady who was taking the orders and serving the food, but it was not very helpful. Won't recommend at all.

Ordered through Uber eats, food took over an hour to be delivered and was cold on arrival. Ordered a prawn biryani, there was one small prawn in the whole portion and the biryani itself was extremely oily. Also ordered a chicken curry and rotis. Rotis were rock hard and cold, chicken curry was average. Spend your money elsewhere.

27 Species Restaurant is a great place for mandi lovers. Their Mixed Mandi is amazing, with tender, flavorful meat and perfectly spiced rice. The portions are generous, and the service is quick and friendly—definitely worth a visit! 4.8/5

Worst service I ever experienced. In the chilli chicken I got the prawns. Then I informed the staff. They were careless. Not even receiving the feedback. The only answer is "I can't do anything, I will just inform this matter to the chef".

I recently visited 27 Spices, hoping to experience some flavorful and aromatic food, but unfortunately, the meal was a major disappointment. I ordered the Mutton Mandi, and it was an utter letdown from start to finish. First off, the mutton was incredibly tough and dry. It was as if it had been sitting around for hours, waiting to be served. The supposed "succulent" meat was far from it—chewy, bland, and nearly impossible to cut through. It tasted like it had been boiled in a tasteless broth and lacked any of the rich spices that are typically expected in a good Mandi. The rice was equally underwhelming. It was soggy and stuck together in clumps, with no flavor or fragrance to elevate the dish. It seemed like the rice had been overcooked and drenched in an odd, greasy oil that left an unpleasant aftertaste. To make matters worse, the portion sizes were ridiculously small for the price. I paid a premium for what felt like a half-hearted attempt at a Mandi that didn’t even come close to being authentic or tasty. The side salad was bland, the raita too thin, and there was no real effort to balance the flavors. The service didn’t help the experience either—slow, inattentive, and disinterested. The atmosphere was fine, but after that meal, I couldn’t wait to leave. In short, 27 Spices failed miserably at serving up a decent Mutton Mandi. If you're looking for flavorful, tender mutton and perfectly spiced rice, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Extremely slowwwwww service. We ordered repeat same curry 3 times and 3 different taste each time. Each dishes take 15-20 mins. We dont recommend this restaurant if you are starving 😡

Has to be one of the worst curries I’ve ever had, tasted as though everything had been burnt. Would not recommend at all if you’re in Luton. Staff didn’t seem bothered that you were there, we asked for a table and they just pointed at us to sit down

Went for lunch. The person didn't bother. He didn't care. We took chair and called him 3 times. He was on phone (with earbuds) until we left. To place the order we called 3 times and he took only half order. It's a bad experience and we never go again and we never recommend to anyone. Went on 15.10.24 around 3pm. You can check your cameras. My concerns are food is perfectly great and need to improve customer service. Hope you understand and improve. Thanks 🙏

I want to share my recent experience with the 27 spices. We are regular customer of this restaurant and staff is very polite, friendly and always serve us well. But yesterday it was very disappointment with food. We order chilli paneer, palak panneer & naan. Firstly it took 30 mins to get all. The curry taste was not at all good. So we call the staff and he immediately respond and told us to change. But it took almost 20 mins to come and worst part is we ordered the 2 naan which come after again 20 mins. I informed to the reception guy and he apologize and told me not to give up to the restaurant. As we like service & food we will come back but management should take action regarding delay of food otherwise they will loose customer

Have dined in and ordered for takeaway here before. The food is very tasty, but VERY spicy, the filled dosas are such good value for money and I’m a big fan of the whole menu. Only thing I’ll say is the food does a take a while but I was prepared for this based on the reviews. Staff are very accommodating & friendly

I’m not an expert, can’t say if this is authentic hyderabadi food or not. However, I can say that food was great and service outstanding. I’d recommend asking for level of spice in dishes, if you can’t handle too much spice, you should go for the milder option just in case

I wanted to share my feedback regarding my recent visit to your restaurant, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations. We experienced significant delays with our order; it took almost an hour to receive our food. We ordered five biryanis, and it seemed each was served with a 20-minute delay after the first one arrived, leading to a total wait of over 40 minutes just for the initial dish. Additionally, the butter chicken we ordered was spoiled. When we mentioned this, the staff suggested confirming with the chef. After a lengthy wait, we were informed that while the cream on top may have been expired, the dish itself was deemed acceptable. However, both my companions and I felt that the gravy was also off. We were offered a replacement without cream but at that point, we had lost faith in the dish. It was disheartening when we inquired about a discount at billing after spending nearly three hours at your restaurant for a meal that did not meet basic quality standards, only to be told that you don’t offer discounts. As loyal patrons wanting to support businesses, especially being Telugu ourselves, we have visited your restaurant multiple times but consistently faced disappointing experiences. I'm concerned that if local customers or visitors experience this level of service and food quality, it will reflect poorly on your establishment. I hope you take this feedback seriously as it comes from a place of wanting to see improvements for both staff and customers.

We have been here several times, and every time, service is so slow, but this time, my experience was so bad. I ordered biryani, which I got lately and cold with only bones in that. When we got our food lately, they didn't even serve water also, and they served for five people just two glass of water. I was speaking politely by respecting her(night shift lady) job, but she was so rude to me. There was no sorry for being rude, and she was saying I was rude to her. Either she requested for replacement or get hot food but she was just saying it's not my mistake just don't complain to me after all the argument I cancelled my order and she didn't even say sorry for whatever happened. I just don't want to recommend anyone whose management has this kind of bad behavior and attitude. We are paying for the food, and we respect the people who are keeping their efforts to serve, but this restaurant lack this. I paid for my food as I didn't come to eat without paying. I hope there should be strict action that should be taken against this issue.

They went out their way to help us choose good dishes and recommended heat levels as we are not used to the spice level. I ordered a biryani, garlic nan bread and prawn curry, I am usually disappointed when ordering Biryani out but this was really flavourful and fragrant, the curry was lovey but DONT ORDER NAN BREAD. Price was cheap and very reasonable and the food was balanced beautifully, 5 stars, I would go back.

Never trust on phone order. I placed an order over the phone and was told that I could pick it up within 20 minutes. However, when I arrived at the store, my food was not prepared and they informed me that the waiting time could exceed an hour.

Being Indian, we always crave Indian food. We found 27 Spices near Luton Mall and thought to give it a try. It turned out to be one of the best Indian food places in Luton. We had Vada, which came out fresh By far the best dish. Gobhi Manchurian with fried rice, and the Chhole Bhature was delicious. While the bhature were perfect, the chhole had a little too much masala. Tannu provided great service. We will be back again.

‼️Alert ‼️ avoid this place. We ordered chicken Lollipop— it was very hard, unable to bite, not frest and not tasty either. No idea if it was a old one/ previous day left over/ taken from freezer. The green chick gravy we ordered was Red and only had chilly powder. When we called them no good response. Avoid take away and if u want to try go direct and try! Highly disappointed! Note: this is only on the dishes we ordered and dont know about other dishes! Edit: new note: I could see lot of 5 star reviews in last two days— very likely fake Edit on 08/06:: ‼️look at the rundness of the restaurant in their reply. I told the chicken was old and not fresh, they are saying its because i ordered in Uber eats! This is how bad they are and their food!

Went for a lunch with friends today. Service was too slow, mango lasssi came just before we finished eating food. Lassi was full of extra extra extra sugar. Food took a long time to cook. Chicken Biryani had two pieces of chicken. However the flavour of biryani was so nice and delicious. Raita came as runny watery yoghurt with no taste. Apart from taste of chicken biryani, everything else was worthless. Also, my vegetarian friend was disappointed with food quality. Need some improvement and review by management for quality assurances.
