I liked the place. A warm welcome on arrival. Great beer served by very friendly young team. Lovely menu with super variety. The food was delicious, plentiful and presented well. The young man waiting tables was attentive polite and very personable. Great atmosphere, obviously liked by the locals. Will definitely recommend to the travelling Argyle Green Army when we come this way.

We had terrible service at the bar, the staff don't seem to be aware of the people waiting to be served and in what order they should be served. After waiting about 15 minutes we were eventually served. When returning for another drink all the staff were in the kitchen so we decided to leave. The pub needs new management as it used to be very popular but it's often empty now and very disorganised.

I came in with my dog and my friend,, sat in the window, we ordered a Pepsi each and the waitress spilled it as she came to the table, she apologised and then left the spill on the table with no offer to clean it up. We then both ordered the pulled pork burger, they arrived and they were plain cheeseburgers, I told them that the order was incorrect, the waiter said ‘oh does it not have pulled pork on it?’ And I said no they are plain, he went to the kitchen, and within 5 minutes he had returned saying that he gave us the wrong order, however it was quite clearly the same meal just with pulled pork added onto the burger. The food was good. However the staff were sat on a table next to us, talking and eating and it just felt a bit strange too be honest. Really not the best experience I’ve had and it’s a shame as I’m local and would love to have gone back.

Stopped inTadcaster for lunch and found this restaurant. We ordered a pizza each. The pizzas were prepared from scratch and put in a pizza oven. They were absolute delicious and very good value for money. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We would certainly return again if we found ourselves in this area.

Have visited many times. Staff wearing masks and tables well spaced out. 50% off pizzas Mon-Fri. Excellent pizzas but pizza menu is unusual. Not many classics. Definitely alternative pizza toppings such as falafel and tzatsiki and squid pizza. Not that great for the unadventurous but worth a try. Other options such as burgers, tapas and flatbreads available.

(30th September 2020) Stopped off in Taddy during a little golf tour. We initially fancied an Italian but they were not open when we found it at around 5-20pm so we decided to go to the main street and try 21. All the usual Covid restrictions in place but got a table no trouble. We were given a menu and decided to have the burger as it sounded really nice. After ordering I noticed on the wall that they were still participating in the eat out for less offer and that same night was 50% off pizza's. I was kicking myself as I would have rather had a pizza but wasnt going to cancel my order and reorder something else. £13 for a couple of burgers and fries was actually ok. The food was quite tasty so thumbs up. The staff very helpful and polite.

Pre booked a table for 2 for 7pm as part of the eat out help out government scheme. We were shown to our table and handed a menu. We both decided to take advantage of the offer so picked the most expensive choice- steaks Unfortunately when we came to order they had no steaks left! We ordered the burgers instead. Slightly disappointed with how the burger was in the wrong bread ( very tricky to eat!) and the whole meal on a slim wooden chopping board ! However it tasted fine . Staff were friendly and service was generally ok. Would go back and recommend.

After visiting this establishment when they reopened I discovered the staff to be very ignorant and rude. Especially the gentleman I believe to be the manager. Even stating at one point that we had to wait for him whilst he has a cigarette. We had 2 pulled beef Yorkie wraps and the “Aromatic Garden Burger”. I’m still unsure what it was about the “burger” that made it a burger as it was served in a baguette and was just a hot sandwich. Very disappointed in what was once a great restaurant. My previous visit was in June 2019 and it did not live up to any of my expectations this time.

Collected a meal for the family last Saturday and service was very friendly and professional and the food as amazing as ever! The pizza melted in the mouth and the beer batted onion rings and fries were amazing! My very fussy toddlers literally inhaled their portions and tried to eat ours too :) Plenty for a family of 4 and at under £20 very much worth it, we may possibly be going back again today...:)

We visited as visitors to the area and were pleasantly surprised ! As someone who is intolerant to dairy, it can be more difficult to eat out. However the chef was particularly proactive and spoke to me about my meal. The food was lovely with very quick service and the atmosphere was equally pleasant. Also the menu was well priced and in comparison to surrounding restaurants was considerably cheaper as well as having a good menu variety. Would highly recommend!

Had dinner with friends today, five pizzas and 9 tapas dishes. The pizzas were really quite nice, fresh and plenty of topping. But the tapas is really cheap quality, the sausages were inedible they are so cheap and one of my friends actually had to spit back out the soggy fish from the fish and chip tapas. The chips were undercookd/raw and the prawns were overcooked. It's a very nice venue, cost and spacious, some of the staff are lovely, one of the women was particularly moody when bringing the food, didnt ask if we wanted anything and didnt bring any cutlery just kind of put the food down not saying anything and walked off (undercut hair). Had to go ask which a friendlier waitress brought the cutlery for us. Overall, not the worst, but would seek other options before returning for food. Would definitely reccomend for a drink, the beer was good quality...but Heineken is made in Tadcaster so....you would hope so

Popped in here with family for a quick pint before the Kendal - Tadcaster game. We'd already ordered drinks for everyone and got a table when rest of family arrived with our dog. They joined us but we were then quickly told that dogs weren't allowed but we were directed to the rooftop terrace where we could take him. So jackets, scarves & hats were put back on and we headed upstairs. It was a nice little area but some of the heaters weren't working & those that did stayed on only for a about two minutes. It was no hardship though and we enjoyed our drinks but drank up quickly and headed to the warm bar at Tadcaster FC where the dog was welcomed with open arms.

My wife and I got lunch here while spending a day and a half enjoying the barley-scentd atmosphere of Tadcaster.Their operation seems aimed at a typical night-life crowd. Decor is contemporary, with color-changing LED lights turning the bar-kick to all hues of the rainbow and an overall sleek appearance. They have a generous private party room and a smallish rooftop terrace.Their full bar provided my wife and I with some of John Smith's ale, fresh from the brewery of that name that's next door. We ordered from their menu of pub foods the quesadilla and the Yorkshire pudding wrap (!) with beef. And then we waited. I did not time it precisely but it took, I am sure, over 20 minutes for the food to arrive--and the place was not half full. We were nursing the last quarter-pint of our beers when the plates finally arrived.Food impressions: generous. My wife enjoyed her quesadilla. My pudding wrap was tasty and intriguing--I've had Yorkshire pudding (it's actually more like bread, to inform my fellow Americans) with a good cut of beef and dark gravy, and this dish came as a sort of hot pocket with a little pitcher of gravy on the side I had to let it cool a bit, and determined that the right way was to eat it from the hand, pouring a bit of gravy on bite by bite. It was not too sloppy that way, and I enjoyed it.The best part of my plate was the fries--best french fried potatoes I'd had in a month. Europeans produce pale, soft fries--these were nicely browned and crisp on the outside, just how I like them. All in all not a good tasting lunch, wish it hadn't taken so much time.

Had my 30th party here last Friday. Whilst the venue is gorgeous and a great size, I was disappointed when I arrived at 7.15 to be told that I only had the room until 11 despite being told it was mine for the night when we booked it months ago. This was apparently because 21 has become more popular on a Friday but then shouldn’t be advertised as a party venue. People were coming in before 11, using the bar and pushing into my guests when dancing. The next HUGE disappointment was the DJ. Despite being for our party between 9 and now 11 and knowing it was a 90’s party as I went up to remind him (and others requested 90’s songs) he kept playing older music and I think two of the requested songs. Then when it opened up at 11 he said THREE times about how it was someone else’s birthday when I was right in front of him on the dance floor! I can understand once but three times is a just plain insulting and he then played a song and said it was because she’d asked for it for her birthday!! Yet didn’t play mine!! Everyone however commented on the food and how nice that was. Overall I would book for a meal as the food is lovely and the staff are really nice but not for a party again.

Came here for a meal after recently moving to the area and it being a venue suggested to us. It was fine when we got there, we ordered our drinks and set up a tab then the man behind the bar gave us menus, we ordered and sat near the kitchen. We could smell something burning and joked it was one of ours....it was! The left hand side of my pizza was black! Not ideal but I ate around it and continued my meal. Halfway through I saw something under my pizza. Thinking it was raw dough I scratched it and turns out it was the barcode/sticker from when they were purchased! One woman walked over and asked how our food was but as my partner began to say she walked off! It was a hi, bye moment. The final insult was when we went to pay and for two drinks, two pizzas and two sides it was nearly £55! Luckily I had sense to question it and when I was given my receipt I found out that there had been 4/5 drinks added to our bill! If we hadn’t thought it was that little bit too much we wouldn’t have checked, would have just paid it and never would have known. If they’ve done it to us how many other people have unwittingly paid for extra drinks?? Sorry but this is one ticked off our list!

It was well before 11pm and no last orders were called. Granted it was quiet but seriously...take someone’s money?! There aren’t many nice places in Tadcaster to drink, we live very locally but certainly won’t be coming back. Why turn money away?! Idiots. The manager was in too but didn’t seem bothered and certainly wasn’t the approachable, friendly sort that you can chat with. Think they all just wanted to be home. Bad customer service. We decided to come here after meeting friends here for drinks recently and seeing the food coming out was looking forward. We were not disappointed. We were two adults and a 13 year old. The bar itself is spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly. We chose our drinks which the bar has a huge selection, Gins, very good selection of wines and real ales, a very thorough choice. We then sat in front of the open kitchen with a huge open pizza oven, which on a cold, wet Yorkshire day was great. We took advantage of the Tapas Tuesday offer and a meat calzone to share. Well, the food was excellent. The potatas bravas and belly pork were great, very good portion sizes, not too much not too little, seasoned perfectly. The calzone came with a gorgeous fresh pasta sauce and was as fresh as can be, we watched the chef make it! All in all the Tapas Tuesday offer, a good size calzone and fries, two soft drinks, two pints of lager and two wines ( one wine comes with the offer ) for three people £34. A bargain. You can't get food this good at one of the chain pubs at this price and the quality was excellent, we will be back! Tadcaster needs places of this standard and hopefully they will flourish. Great staff and a great place.
