Thai Pot - Bedfordbury in City of London, Westminster

Been there twice over the last few months - once for lunch, was great, so returned weeks later for dinner. Service was way too attentive - nice staff but they never leave you alone! Dish came way too fast, felt like they just wanted you to finish and leave. We ordered curry and rice, but rice arrived 5 mins before the curry. Pad Thai and fish both tasted ok, but tiny portions and definitely overpriced.

Do not Order an Aperol Spritz. They cost you 15£ because they make them with Champagne and do not say it in advance. The card says 6.50£ for an Aperol but its only a shot. Who drinks a Shot of Aperol???? The food was good but the size of one order not enougth to fill you up.

Buena comida. Gran servicio amable. Buena relación calidad-precio. Tan acogedor y amable que en el centro de Londres es raro. Definitivamente volveré.

I am a regular at this restaurant. The food is delicious, and the owners (and all their staff) are very warm and welcoming. They always go above and beyond to find you a table even during peak times

Truly authentic Thai and great service. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. One thing I really liked was the assortment of spicy sauces they provide, so you can adjust the heat to your liking.

Saturday evening. Walked in, table for 2. Talked through my dietary requirements with a very helpful server, ordered. Food came quickly. From first taste to last it was delicious. Plenty enough for us.

The best meal we had since arriving in London. Excellent service and wonderful people.

i had the tofu larb and it was so tasty!!!! in general enjoyed the tofu A+ textures and flavours .. prices are super decent and menu is big and varied yayyy.. even cried in here but still had a great time..

Have been here in the past and really enjoyed it, tasty food and good value for money but not any more. Rushed to order from the moment you sat down. The food was horrible yes horrible. £19.99 for the shared starter 😂 then the mains were tasteless and generic. I won’t ever go back. It’s a shame as used to be a lovely little place to eat. 😞

Firstly I would always tell people about this restaurant because of how good it was so this is not the first time I have eaten there. Sadly it’s not the same place. We was asked at least five times what we wanted to eat even before we had properly settled down to our table. Then it was waiters trying to pour our wine in the glass before even ordering food. Then we ordered our food which quite frankly was so bland it didn’t taste of anything. Please avoid this place it’s not the restaurant it was

Have dined here twice and the service and food has been great both times! Service is fast, it does get busy during peak times but I have been able to be seated quickly without much wait. There is a selection of vegetarian options and staff is friendly, they assist well with dietary requirements. The atmosphere is cosy, table for two can be quite a tight fit, but this is the case with many restaurants that have the standard tables. It is difficult to fit meals on those tables. Other than that, the decor and atmosphere is very nice.

Unbelievably tasty Thai food and really kind and hospitable staff. Will definitely come again and I do recommend to anyone.

I mean the food was good but we were scammed with a non agreed 20% tip at checkout. We split across multiple people and didn’t figure it out until we were home. Not cool.

We are real fans of Thai cuisine and regularly visit a small restaurant in Annecy in France where we always enjoy homemade dishes with fresh, quality products with the same pleasure. We had never found a Thai restaurant offering the same quality....until our dinner at Thai Pot!! We ate very well. The delicate flavors of coriander, peanut and lemongrass were there! We tasted delicate and balanced dishes. We also enjoyed the fresh leaf herbal tea. A very extensive menu which can make you fear frozen or non-homemade dishes... But what a pleasant surprise when we discover the freshness of the cooked vegetables and fruits! We had a blast! The waitress was attentive, concerned about our well-being and satisfaction while remaining discreet. The setting is basic, with little atmosphere suggested but the cuisine is worth the detour!!

Lovely staff and restaurant tucked away in a beautiful spot in central London. Warmly greeted and the service was quick. I did find the food very salty however, which caused me to be very dehydrated in the evening afterwards. Based on the other reviews, perhaps it was a one off issue.

Came to London on holidays with the 3 kids. Found this place , it’s so good we came back two more times. Lovely, fresh Thai food. Good ambience, fantastic staff and owners. Recommend.

I have been visiting Thai Pot for 25 years. It has remained a great place for a good quality meal, served very fast, for a very reasonable price. I will keep coming back.

Excellent food and staff! This is honestly my go to place every single time I go to the Coliseum... or need somewhere in the theatre district you know you will get consistently good and delicious food. The staff are friendly and professional and will offer helpful recommendations. Service is quick but this in no impacts the quality of the food. A favourite with any meal for my friend is the Coconut Rice - we have tried different variations in other restaurants, but Thai Pot does it with amazing flavour.

Quiet at lunch time, with yummy food and our dog was allowed in as well.

Fuimos a comer antes del teatro. No habíamos comido tailandés antes, así que jugamos seguro con el menú para dos. Nos quedamos muy contentos con la variedad. La comida salió caliente, servida rápidamente. Estaba delicioso, sabores distintos y realmente disfruté de las nueces picadas al lado. En general nos quedamos muy impresionados y lo recomendaría. Fue una gran opción para pre-teatro, ya que el servicio era rápido, aunque no apresurado. El personal era amable y atento. No tuvimos que preguntar sobre la reposición de bebidas, vinieron y preguntaron. La señora de la recepción / puerta era acogedor a nuestra llegada, preguntó mi nombre y utilizó mi nombre. Esto fue repetido a todos los que ella saludó. El ambiente tenía un verdadero bullicio de comensales charlando. Disfrutamos de nuestra visita y esperamos volver.

Food was good but the owner/.friends were sitting behind us with a phone call on speaker full blast.

The soup was almost inedible- far too much lemon in it , the noodles were stodgy & bland & some of the staff were unfriendly & abrupt

Lucky to have got a group table on walk in on a Saturday evening. Food was good. Service was fast and efficient. No bells and whistles. Just good food.

The food quality and service has gone down considerably since 2 years. First thing is just after entering the owner announced the table needs to free in 1 hour time. Food was tasteless and seemed to be served from frozen. The fried king prawns was fried in bad oil and I had a preety bad stomach after having it. Egg rice bland again. The waiters push you to order more when you don’t want to as a deadline was given to us! After that they stopped coming to our table as we didn’t order the quantity they expected us to. Only to return after 10 minutes to take the desserts order. Never will enter this place again.

Lugar encantador para comer. Justo al lado de la plaza Trafalgar tan muy céntrico. Personal amable y encantador que es muy atento y eficiente. La comida es para morir. Tenía el curry de pato que era muy bueno. Muy recomendable. Precio competitivo.

Un paseo fuera de la calle, ya que estábamos en la zona y nos gustó la comida tailandesa. El restaurante parece bastante pequeño desde el exterior, pero es bastante grande cuando entras. El personal era amable y atento. La comida también fue muy agradable con el éxito sorpresa es la sopa Tom Kha, que nunca hemos probado antes, pero sin duda volverá a conseguir. También proporcionan algunas salsas picantes para la mesa, que van desde el tipo de picante hasta el derretimiento facial, todos los cuales son muy sabrosos. El precio no es tan malo para Londres y la comida y las porciones justificaron ese precio. Recomendar

We went there for lunch and were served very quickly . The food is excellent and the personal is very friendly too. The restaurant was not overcrowded either while it is spacious and quiet pretty.

The food, the environment were nice but unfortunately the service from the maitre d' was aggressive with her needs for us to order, within 30 seconds of a guest joining the table she wanted to know what they wanted before they had even seen a menu. the fellow waitresses were also asking every minute and there seamed to be this pressure for us to order and get us out the door, yet they were only half full so I don't understand why the pressure! We were asked if we want dessert but not offered the dessert menu. when we asked for the bill the card machine was slammed down on the table in an aggressive manner. service not amusing at all! not sure if I'd go back.

What a great find in Covent Garden. Stopped off on a Friday evening at 5:00 p.m. The welcome was warm and we were seated immediately. The food was great! I love Thai and this was one of the best; and very reasonable for central London. I will come back 😀🇹🇭

Food was ok - not as good as I was expecting. Service was fast and we were a big table - that's why it's a great option for dinner before the theatre. I had massaman and it was ok, I didn't like the coconut rice at all - tasted too strong, almost like synthetic coconut and oil, very stodgy.

Great food and professional staff! I love how the staff greet you at the door, seat you promptly and provide menus. The food and drink is served quickly and it’s hot and flavourful. This is one of my go to restaurants before the theatre. And good prices!

I love Thai cuisine and so does my wife. Thai pot food is no inferior to authentic Thai food. And its location is best for London Coliseum.

I took my daughter who is 11 and she ordered a dish that was too spicy for her. The lady came over and took it away and said “I will bring her something she likes, believe me she will love it” and she did! I wish I knew the lady’s name as she made it very special and it really meant a lot.

Looks lovely but food poor and rice was cold. There was a very loud woman, I think, in charge which was quite distracting. Service was good though.

Food was tasty but very little duck in my duck curry. Also when checking the bill they had added the service charge twice...apologised when we pointed it out...accidents happen I guess, good thing we checked.

Ahead of a trip to Royal Opera House we found this gem to eat. There are so many places to eat in and around Covent Garden but if you’re looking for something which isn’t too hustle and bustle this would be an option. Warm welcome. Extensive menu. Very reasonable prices though the portions were smaller than we have all become used to but perhaps don’t need. Cooked fresh and delicious. Would definitely go again.

I’m visiting the restaurant in July 2024. I visited the place more than five years ago and I’m delighted to say the hospitality is as warm as ever and the food hasn’t changed one bit It retains its authenticity in flavour and the service matches intrude high style Ordered a pad Thai for my daughter and I ordered a lamb gai. Started with Tod man pla. I was offered a spice tray with 6 options and they were just amazing. Haven’t had real Thai food in a long while and this definitely hit the mark. it’s consistent, tasty and authentic and the restaurant comes highly recommended for service food and atmosphere

Excellent meal during London Pride. (Sorry ... it was so good I ate most of it before taking the picture!!) Fitted us in, and then all wanted pictures with us. Such lovely staff.

Super convenient for theatres in St Martins Lane area. Humorous and attentive staff. Great authentic Thai food. You can be done in 40 mins without feeling rushed at all. Recommend.

The Gold Pot set menu was truly excellent and plenty for two sizeable appetites! Everything was seasoned and spiced to perfection. Staff were incredibly helpful, polite and attentive. This was a perfect stop before seeing our theatre show at the London Coliseum just next door. If you enjoy Thai food it’s an easy recommendation.

I have been here 4 or 5 times but today I think it was my last ,food was great ,service was rushed and the restaurant was quiet ,it wasn't late it was 1.30 when we had finished the waitrese kept raising her voice saying enjoy you're food but it was said in a very annoying and too loud a tone to the point of when I said this would drive me mad if I was here a while ,the food very good but too too rushed , we were asked if we wanted anything else and wanted to let our food go down ,we were met with "I'll bring you the bill !" For a restaurant that's is clearly not full to capacity you would think they would want to attract people to stay and spend a bit more with coffee etc ,if they were full I can understand but this is typically being treated as if you are on a convey belt ,at they want ypu out as fast as possible . Sorry but the food is great service attitude needs to change

I first came here in 2022 and was so pleased with the food and service that I came back on my next trip to London. The food was served so quickly! The gluten free options are great and it was one of the least expensive meals we have had in London. I strongly reccomend Thai Pot!

Great food, friendly service, bustling atmosphere

Had a quick lunch on my own at this place because I read somewhere that it was extremely good but sadly, it wasn’t. Service was excellent, the menu is extensive and they have several lunch specials but the portions are small and the food is just not flavorful. I had the papaya salad and the corn, mushrooms and beans and everything tasted bland. My sale was £10.50 and the vegetables were £7.50. I might give it another chance maybe with a large group in order to try a variety of things Maybe I ordered the wrong thing ? I don’t know but I was disappointed

Excellent find for dinner before a concert tonight. Staff very attentive & friendly. Food arrived quickly & was very tasty We had the chickens Gang Kiow wang & Gang Ped (green & red curries) Husband was tempted by the mango soufflé desert, which came topped with tutti gritty candy floss! Very tasty

This is a staple for me in London, I am up here a lot and this restaurant is perfectly located. Reasonable priced and as authentic as the food I've had in Thailand! Love it.
