TGI Fridays in Spelthorne

We visited the restaurant in Staines for my grandsons 9th birthday and I wasn’t impressed. My husbands burger came out stone cold and he had to send it back which meant we didn’t eat together at the same time. The member of staff was apologetic and got him a new meal but that’s not the point. It is not the cheapest place to eat in fact it’s quite pricey and you would expect food to come out hot not cold. I will say one thing the staff who served us were very pleasant and sang happy birthday to my grandson which was nice and gave him a slice of cake that’s the positive but I’m afraid the food is not up to standard and we were very disappointed.

Marj was a fabulous server and so attentive. Nothing quite like a TGI’s for your birthday. Great menu, great food, great service!

About 9 adults and 6 Children went for a yearly get-together meal. We all turned up between 1 and 2pm as a few of us had unexpected things happen in the morning but ordered straight away. The food took ages to come out, as there were only 2 chefs in the kitchen to cook fir everyone in the building but it was yummy, especially the sweet potato fries and bacon potatoes. The one thing I noticed about the 3 hours we were there,was how amazing Our waitress, Olivia was. She tried hard to get everyones meals out around the same time, whilst dealing with all the kids and a few of us adding more drinks to the order. When other staff got confused with our orders, she was on it! You have a lovely, polite hard working member of staff there! We don't live near Staines but I will go back at some stage soon

Vastly understaffed, lots of waiting. Staff did their best but poorly managed. One poor staff member trying to do all the bar orders by himself. We could see our desserts in the just kitchen waiting to come out under a light by the hot food. Hence they were all melted and frankly not worth the £10 charged for each of them! Will not be returning, such a shame as it was a birthday celebration 😟

Holly was great with us. Very helpful and very quick service. The new menu was great. Good food introduced to the menu. Very happy

The atmosphere was welcoming and warm, everyone had a smile on their face. The service was excellent and the food came quickly. Would definitely recommend coming here with friends and/or family!!!

Chloe was lovely, friendly ,she made our evening, food was nice despite a mistake on the food it was good. Menu got smaller though which is a little disappointed but other than that it was good.

Popped in for lunch, recieved great friendly service from both the manager and Marj, food was very good as usual. Always come back every couple of weeks and have a good experience

We enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere was good and the decor in the restaurant was very good. I do however have a problem. The person serving us seemed very reluctant to let us see the discounted menu. We had to ask to see it. We all ordered from it because it was good value. We were then asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. Again she brought over the expensive menu. So once again I had to ask for the uptown downtown menu. Which was disappointing. We were informed that she had no idea that this menu had dessert on it. Which is worrying. It's either a reluctance to serve us from this menu or she hadn't been trained properly. Either way it shouldn't happen

As a group of 4, we left TGI Friday in Staines feeling very disappointed. We had a £180 bill for food, 1 refillable diet coke, 1 coke, and 4 x 2 cocktails for £16. There was absolutely no atmosphere in the restaurant. We ordered 4 meals, and one of our group had opted for a sharing starter as her main. This arrived first, and we had to find a waitress to remind that we had only ordered 4 food items that should all come together, also to remind of the cola that had not arrived. So one of our Group ate alone and had no food while we all ate. When the mains arrived, 2 of the group had a half rack of ribs, which tasted really good but was honestly very poorly sized for £20. The upgraded loaded fries, which added an additional charge, were less than half the size of normal fries. The refillable diet cola was taken away to be refilled and never brought back until requested. Desserts were luscious and totally worth their cost. We went to order a final round of drinks only to be told the bar was closed, with no notification when this was happening. Granted time had passed quicker than we had noticed, but most places will give you some notification. The restaurant was really not busy. There was an issue with each of the toilets in the ladies, from missing locks to no toilet paper to not flushing. I know some of these are not major complaints, but altogether, I left the restaurant feeling hard done by for what we paid, in terms of value for money , from a food and service perspective.

Imogen was so good had the best service! Very polite and friendly! And made me feel very welcome! The food was very tasty and cocktails was were great! Would definitely return!

The place was awful wanted a table for 8 in an empty restaurant took her 5 minutes to come up with the idea to put a couple of tables together. Seems like she either didn't want our money or just couldn't be bothered to be there. Drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive. Food was OK nothing special small portions missing items. No check back was done just genuinely poor customer service considering it wasn't busy at all. Prices ridiculous for what you are serving up. Embarrassing to be honest the waitress we had was lovely and totally wasn't her fault. Carry on with that service I can't imagine the company being there much longer. Menus filthy no cutlery on tables had to ask.

Went to TGI’s today to celebrate Father’s Day with my family, NEVER AGAIN! Rudest staff I’ve ever come across, 1 hour 10 Mins no food no communication and met with attitude when asking simple questions (muttering under breath and sarcastic smiles) to follow up where everything was, had to go to the bar collect our own drinks, my 7 year old crying over the staff and confrontation and begged for her grandad to take her outside, we left to go to Nandos where we had a lovely hot meal and was out within the hour with a service with a smile. And because we walked out without eating they said we are now BARRED!

Not been to tai for some time and won't be going back. Ordered chicken pasta which was nearly £20.00 Came dry and had to send it back for some cream sauce. Had around 5 small bits of chicken and the rest made up of pasta. If this cost more than £3,00 to make I would be surprised. Poor food no flavour and so overpriced its unreal. Some of the others in the group had the ribs and were equally disappointed. I total a complete rip off

I wanted to say thank you to marj the waitress she was such a lovely lady with a welcoming smile. Nothing was too much trouble and she even persisted with a broken coffee machine to make me one. She made the whole experience an inviting one, would definitely return . She is an asset to any staff team and should be commended thank you

we did not have booking but the staff accommodated us. The service was great… friendly staff… the food was very good. Would definitely come here again with family.

Unfortunately we had an awful meal, which was such a shame as we were celebrating 2 family birthdays. the drinks took over 20 mins to come, my potato skins were burnt to crisps and the cajun pasta was very bland! the ribs my husband had were tiny (for £25) and the corn on the cob was watery - clearly cooked from frozen! No-one in our group was happy with their meals which are very overpriced! after ordering more drinks we ended up going to the bar to ask for them as they hadn't been ordered and then went up to collect them. the restaurant was very under staffed - we wont be returning! also the reviews on here don't look real!

Really good night out, nice food. Mike our server was super helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend just based on his service

I have been to TGI’s a number of times at different locations. The menu has reduced significantly and has very little for vegetarians or pescatarians. The food was below the standard I expected for TGI and took a long time to come out. Our meals came out at different times which is never ideal, this wouldn’t have mattered as much if we enjoyed what we had. Where we were sat was also uncomfortable - an old sofa that was well worn and very low to the table. Positively the waiter, and service he provided was excellent, he done his very best but this didn’t make up for the food.

The uptown and downtown menus are really good value, very clean and the ingredients tasted fresh especially the chicken Marj was very attentive, and fast service would recommend

Mike has been a brilliant host. I have come in this diner before and did not have a good experience. Mikes service has been exceptional and always has a smile on his face. He deserves a pay rise!

Paulo is a superb waiter in TGIF restaurant up to typical American standards. Definitely would come here again.

Paulo was very helpful & attentive from the moment we sat down at our table. He was helpful in recommending dishes & drinks, nothing was to much for him when we asked. Thank you for a great visit, before lockdown.

My friend and I visited Tgi Friday's in Staines and received the best customer service from Marjorie. From the minute we arrived she was extremely attentive, always asking if we were ok and if we needed anything. She was extremely polite and had a lovely vibe about her! :)

Paulo was amazing very attentive hood food but I would get the vegan burger next time as I found a few bones in salmon also the sharing nachos was rubbish for £10

Paulo who served us made sure our drinks were all filled up at all times, made us feel comfortable and safe in the environment. Very friendly and uplifting and brilliant customer service. Definitely deserves a pay rise!

We really enjoyed our visit. Our server was really nice. No doubt ,she looked after us really well . The food is good as well . The only thing , I have to say which turned me off about the place were the toilets . They were disgusting , poor hygiene. What a shame !

First time we had visited this TGI Fridays. Seated quickly and shown what we needed to order via the app. As we wanted something not showing on the menu our server sorted this out with no problems. Great service, good food and great cocktails. Would recommend.

Me and my boyfriend had a lovely meal here with plenty of amazing cocktails and fab food. Great atmosphere amongst the staff and in particular our server Paulo! He was so great and just radiated positivity which made our night even better. Can’t wait to visit again!

Having vowed never to return after a bad dining experience some years ago, my wife managed to convince me to stop in here as a spur of the moment bite to eat before we headed home. I'm both relieved & pleased to say there have been GREAT improvements to this branch. We visited at a relatively quiet time of day so there were less people to attend to; nonetheless we were seated quickly & our waiter (whose name escapes me) was both friendly & attentive throughout our visit. Provisions in light of Covid regulations appear to have been implemented well, & the food arrived VERY quickly! Overall, I still think the brand is pricey for what it is - otherwise I'd have been minded to award an extra star. Nonetheless, it was a tasty treat & I wouldn't have any reservations about visiting again some time.

Perfect service! Marjorie was amazing, although it was late Monday evening and I bet she was tired, she was quick and smiling all the time and very attentive to everything! Thank you so much Marjorie! People like you make TGI better!

Great services by Paulo at the TGI Fridays in Staines. Couldn’t be more helpful, great food as always. Couldn’t recommend them enough

Never been before and probably won’t again. Had to ask how the ordering works now, partners dinner was finished before his chips were ment to arrive which they never did & had no napkins or cutlery which had to be asked for. Manager did deal with issue swiftly and to satisfaction. Personally overrated and overpriced for me.

Marjorie deserves a pay rise! She was great! 10/10 service, would recommend. Marjorie is carrying this place on her shoulders :)

First time ever eating a this brand was amazing food and even managed to get a sex on the beach cocktail after the lovely waitress asked the barman to make especially couldn’t fault the food or staff would recommend

Tgi's was my favourite restaurant for years but in the last few years, they've gone downhill BADLY right across the board unfortunately.I've been to so many different restaurants of their's but now certainly won't be rushing back. The Kingston restaurant shut down which used to be my favourite but got really bad in the last couple of years it was open. The 3 in Central London, Guildford, Staines and even as far away as Bournemouth have all let the brand down. To be fair Staines, which is the newest 1 I've been to has been better than the others but I think the brand has sadly had it's day now. I love a burger and it used to be hot and fresh and PRESENTED well with lettuce, tomato and onion in it etc but for some reason, (presumably ££££'s), they suddenly stopped putting lettuce in it. Now all you get is half a slice of mushy tomato and if you're lucky half a slice of onion.Very poor. The latest burger was very bland, luke warm and very poorly presented with just the half a slice of thin tomato in the burger and that was it. Absolutely no passion with presenting their food. A sad decline.

Lovely service by Marjorie, she made us feel welcomed and we received our orders quickly. The food was good, and we enjoyed the promotion they had on, through the app.

Come out for a quick lunch catch up with a friend and her new baby, food was good and service was very good by Paulo.

Came for food last Thursday after a day in Thorpe park. Our server was Ellie? (lady with dark hair, tall and slim) anyway she was great, clearly busy but remained calm and on top of everything, very nice and bubbly. Food was delicious and filling. If ever we are in the area again, we would defo come back! Thank you

We have always had a love for Friday’s or TGI’s but over the last few years it always seems to be the expensive options for easy eating out.The place as always and like every Friday’s was spot on and atmosphere really good.We dined on the eat out to help out scheme thinking we would still get a decent deal but the bill still came to £30 for 2 basic starters and 2 basic mains with a soft drink each.Couldn’t fault the waitress at all.

I was served by Nichole with my sister and she was absolutely amazing. She made sure to keep checking on us and our table was never out of drinks which brings me to my next comment. Jordan made our drinks and recommended all the drinks which was the best I have ever had and Nichole was a great host and amazing at also recommending stuff to us. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Visited here last night. Had pre-booked a table for 5 so there wasn't any problem with arriving and getting our table. Social distancing measures were good as the tables were reasonably spaced out. I ordered the Half Rack of Ultimate Ribs, see first picture above. Was a bit disappointed with the size. I thought it would be larger given the description on their website 'our biggest ribs'. This was just the half and I was thinking that it would be reasonably large and filling. Coleslaw pot was tiny too!!Others in the group ordered 2x Sesame Chicken strips with house fries and Garlic & Chilli veg fajitas and a kiddies meal. Would go back but try something different I think.

Ate hear with 3 colleagues and pleasantly surprised as to how well organised the place is . An empty table between all occupied tables . Really great rib eye steaks perfectly cooked and of a very decent size . With the government scheme in place makes it very good value .

Delicious food! Service was super friendly from our server, Paulo. Starters were bigger than we thought so couldn’t quite finish our main meals but all was still 10/10. Will definitely be coming back here for more food.

Went out for a late 18th celebration, food was delicious, cocktails were lovely (and strong!) and we had a lovely waiter, Paulo. Have been before and will be back again!

Thanks to Paulo, our host, who made our first visit out to a restaurant after Covid-19 a great one! The chicken wings, potato skins and cocktail shrimp were amazing as well as long Island iced teas

We reserved a table but got there half an hour early. They were all very accomodating. Many kudos to our waiter Paulo! He was friendly and recommended a good choice in dessert.

This was my first experience in TGIs since the new Covid measures were put in place and I can honestly say this was a very positive one! Paulo in particular was super helpful, cheery and polite. Nothing was too much trouble and he had a smile on his face the whole time!
