Tesco Cafe in Medway

Food Nd Coffee was very good and a good price. But when a member of staff cleared a used table they just removed the tray and did not wipe the table which wS dirty and had baked beans and scrambled egg left on the table even though we where waiting to sit down at said table this member of staff didn't come back to clean the mess. My husband asked at the counter to get it cleaned our food was placed on the dirty table and we again for it to be cleaned. Eventually the same person that took the tray went to get cloth and what happened next just astonished me the baked beens where removed from the table and deliberately scattered on the floor where someone could easily have slipped on it and had a serious accident. We said to this person can you remove them and the person just walked away disgusting. They definitely need more training in cleanliness, health and safety for customers and staff alike. Before the mess was picked up Eventually by which time we had finished our food and drink. You might ask why we did not pick the mess up ourselves the answer is we was very interested to know how long it would take the staff to make the place clean and safe. We asked other staff to clean it up and they didn't either but we placed our trolley over it to stop someone sliding on it. We are absolutely disgusted when we spoke to another member of staff to say we are going now and taking our trolley which was making the area safe for others and that they are lucky that someone didn't have a nasty accident which they possibly could make a claim against Tesco due to there lack of care. And before anyone asks no they where not that busy.

Waited over 3hrs and it was stone cold couldn't eat it and refused my money back will not order again I ordered because I'm disabled and can't get out the house due to stroke and need food to take meds but the service today as been really bad

Great experience here, the food was Amazing and the service was just as good. Definitely recommend the new breakfast dish here.

Big selection of hot drinks, which were great quality. Avocado smash on toast was really well presented with perfectly cooked poached egg. Halloumi burger was delicious in a brioche bun with perfectly cooked chips. Outstanding food for a supermarket cafe. Service was quick and friendly

Orderd 3 breakfast and 3 portion of chips only one breakfast arrived

If you have an allergy basically don’t bother. Tescos have put a warning against basically every food item for every allergen. Went for breakfast and couldn’t order any item of food (including just a slice of bacon!) because an allegen warning for nuts had been applied

There was no one serving at the till when I arrived at 12 45. From getting bored of waiting and setting my timer, it took 10 minutes before I was served (there were possibly 6 people ahead of me), then another 8 minutes before my burger and chips arrived. The chicken burger was OK, bit small; the chips were covered in some seasoning which was not to my taste and the menu offered seasoned chips as a side, not as part of the dish I ordered. The coffee was below average. I won't be back. I was so disappointed, I forgot I'd gone to Tesco to do a shop. Walked out without my shopping! Still won't go back.... 😉

Inside the main Tesco. Super clean fast service. Great coffee or have a beautiful full English breakfast. Very reasonable price. Even do healthy options on the menu. Light bright and nice atmosphere.

The meal was like cheap food you would find at a cafe and overpriced, greasy and small portioned. The waiting time for cooked food was stupid. Also I got shouted at by an old lady working behind the till because there was a wait time for food, very rude and very short tempered. The service was mediocre as there was food over many places on the floor having not been cleaned up, a lot of dirty plates on tables, all the while one staff member just seemed to be loitering about doing nothing (a big girl). One staff member was working her best but she can't do everything on her own I guess (little lady with an accent and a ponytail). The atmosphere was unacceptable because there was a party seated with mentally impaired people included and some till staff were very rude about them because they were "loud". The public needs to know the facts about this place before deciding to go there and waste their money and time. Mentally impaired people do NOT deserve disrespect either, it isn't fair and it isn't right.

Didn’t get the cup of tea I ordered. The food that we ordered was really good and came on time though

Horrible and unhealthy food. Staff members who serve at the till could be nicer and have less attitude problems which would make for a nicer atmosphere. On a positive note the little Polish lady who works there is wonderful and the male manager is also a lovely guy. Wouldn't go back there for food or drink again having had a few bad experiences which I'm not allowed to post on here.

Waited 5 mins to be served, too busy chatting around the back, when food came out was not hot and the fried egg was solid.

One of the staff members there called Joy is a nasty piece of work who has a big attitude problem. Been to the cafe many times and every time Joy has been serving she was complaining constantly about the customers and her colleagues, mainly verbally insulting, making faces behind peoples backs and even having a rude tone to fellow customers. I've seen this by just standing in the queue and watching her 'work' and have experienced it firsthand with her directing it at me. Numerous times my coffee has been cold due to her laziness and when I brought it to her attention she would give me attitude like it was my fault the drink was cold. Tesco should really look into her conduct and sack her because she drives away custom. Will never return to this Tesco Cafe all the time staff such as this work there! Disgusting!

Driver didn't know where they were going Food is cold And it wasn't presented as I previously had it and disappointed Then my drink spilled Last couple of times, I have ordered I had no problem. Until now and I am upset

Finding somewhere that does a full breakfast and and ice coffee (with syrup) Is normally so hard. Food was good, coffee was good, and service/delivery was fast.

Went for breakfast and I was very disappointed. Firstly, there was only one member of staff at the counter who was expected to take orders, prepare drinks, give cutlery and take payment. Secondly, there was very few tables considering the size of the store. Empty tables were not cleared or cleaned Thirdly, there was a long wait for my food, approximately 20 minutes. Long enough to drink my pot of tea! When my food arrived it was disappointing, a small sausage, 2 greasy hash browns and baked beans that that were drying out due to over heating I believe they can do a lot better.

Well that was an experience!!!! Looking at my breakfast , I would say it was sat under the hot plate for a while . Beans had a skin on them , bacon was like rubber , sausage tasted rank 🤮. Hash browns weren’t much better and the toast was ok . Don’t waste your money

Food was terrible absolutely stone cold

Two items on the vegetarian breakfast was missing and I had meat sausages and not vege sausages as per the set breakfast items . The egg I added extra was awful underneath aswell .

Liked it but had restricted menu i guess due to staff shortage. Staff very pleasant and quality good.

Order was missing two items. Rolls were stale. Bacon barely cooked. Bacon and black pudding stone cold. Horrible

The place is okay for a coffee , but anything more demanding than that seems to meet the too difficult box. We did go here for breakfast, but after some shrugs and long times quoted for the items requested we settled for the coffee .Staff members not overly helpful

First time I have ever been to a Tesco cafe and it won’t be the last. I ordered a roast chicken, chorizo and cheese panini and my partner ordered a cooked breakfast. The food was so tasty and great value for the money. We didn’t have to wait long for our food either. Speedy service.

Stone cold food and items missing. I had a refund for the missing food now have to wait up to 3 days for an email about cold food refund. I have taken pictures and binned the food.

The food was nice pretty good overall, though the hash browns tasted a little weird which was unfortunate. They forgot my sauce too but other than that it was fine. The delivery time was great, food was hot when I got it

I walked in at 3:00 on a Sunday as the place appeared to be open and the main store was still operating. One of the staff came out and shouted "We're closed!" I was quite surprised by this and asked when they closed only to be told rather curtly "Now!" This is no way to treat customers. I made a complaint online and was told my "feedback" would be passed back to the store manager. I asked for a call back as I doubted it would be dealt with. This was eventually agreed to. As expected there was no call back. Clearly the staff and management at Tesco Gillingham consider rude service as acceptable. I would not go back!

Food was freezing and hash browns are hard and egg have black on

I’m sure I have a kidney infection and my mum had to order stuff off there to get me some water anyway I’m eating my breakfast half way through my egg and look to so raw egg that could make me really ill the thought I’ve just eaten an undercooked egg is making me feel sick the thing is that could make me really ill I’m 16 years old and I’m raging I was already ill and In pain without being worried of more now !

Good and fast delivery but you don’t get much for your money.

The iced coffee I ordered came spilled in the brown bag and I didn’t notice it when I got it. The coffee was spilled in the bag completely making a mess all over the house. It must have spilled during the transfer as well cause the cup was totally empty.

Took an hour and 40 mins to arrive. Had to microwave all the food as it was cold. Ordered 2 bottles of Fanta and got 2 bottles of irn bru. Rubbish.

Food was packed nice but didn’t get much for your money and it was cold when arrived.

I don’t mind luke warm food as I understand sometimes it’s difficult to keep warm but this was stone cold. Tiny amount of food the beans came in the smallest pot I’ve ever seen and chips can’t be rescued once cold so they had to be binned. It seems like they want the money but don’t want to give the service . I wouldn’t bother with them

Miserable staff rude from ordering at the till to the male staff member wiping the tables. Asked for ketchup and salt for my chips and he walked off very disgruntled that I should ask for help cashier spilt my coffee on the floor so had nasty stain down on side of my cup. They all look like they don't want to be there. Cutlery was dirty see photo.

A group of adults with learning disabilities from Harris Community Support visited the cafe today the staff went above and beyond to get our group seated with all the relevant restrictions Thankyou !

The food is quite nice, the tables are spaced out to maintain social distancing. It can be busy at lunchtime so you may have to wait for a seat

Ordered a Goats Cheese & red onion Panini... it has nothing but onion & a couple of spinach leaves in. Why?

My breakfast wrap was small and didn’t taste any good. For nearly £5 I fault it would have been better. However won’t be ordering again in future. Restaurant service was excellent and delivery was quick though.

Absoloutly disgusting scones very dry and served up with frozen butter uneadable !! coffee like used dishwater ! Floor filthy left the whole lot and went to Dobbies !! Will never set foot in their again !!

Food and drink is okay, it's cheap enough so no major issues there. But you'd think the staff were in prison the way they deal with customers. Service with a smile is lost on some of them as the lack of customer service skills is fully on display at the till area. Impatient, rude and grumpy staff is never a good look. Good people skills can go a long way and can make all the difference. On a positive note, the lady clearing tables and bringing out the food was very pleasant and polite. She must be in disbelief at the poor attitudes of others. This should be a decent little place to stop for a coffee and bite to eat, but sadly it's our second visit recently and on both visits we had a similar experience from different staff at the till area, so this was our last visit. It's a shame but this place is badly let down by unhappy staff who make the customers feel ever bit of that unhappiness. It really shouldn't be that difficult, it's a Tesco cafe, the expectation isn't high, it's not a gourmet restaurant, so just smile and be polite, job done!

Nice and clean continuous wipe downs with helpful service, made me feel at ease even with covid 19, food was good, tasty and well presented, definitely come again

Sickened to hear one of the staff members (supervisor / manager) actually making comments about the "Stupid" customers not spending enough money in the cafe, and how some of the Cafe staff were " Lazy" and "Useless" for not wanting to work in the store during the Covid crisis, and choosing to being furloughed instead. I had a poorly made Latte, and the mood in the cafe was like being at a funeral. This Stupid customer will be taking his money elsewhere as this place almost does not merit being kept afloat. Reading previous comments on here, there is no wonder, this place was on the decline before the virus hit us.

Had one of the breakfasts which was ok. Good for supermarket cafes. little on the warm/cold side when it arrived. Lady behind the counter had the worst mood, reported to me it was because she hadn't had her lunch break yet, how this was unacceptable and went into this rant. It had only just turned midday. It was very unprofessional.

Always cold and unhappy staff,food nothing to write home about. Be careful if you go shopping and then meet up with friends for a meal or coffee,you only get 3 hrs parking. This happened to us and we were fined.

I meet friends here for a drink and catch up...then of course do a shop 😊 The score of 3 is not to do with the food or drink...that score would be higher. Their cooked breakfast is of a really high standard, and they have a healthy option too. The seating is looking a bit shabby in places...ripped sofas. Very good prices! The let down is the staff... genuinely. I was shocked when I placed an order for 2 pots of Tea..£3 ( told you the prices were good )...and when I gave him a £10 ...and he'd already shut the till...he couldn't work out my change! 10 - 3 = ? Wow! When I told him it was 7...he pulled out his phone to check 😱 And...both the Manager and the other man have 1 speed... slow, and look like they have just rolled out of bed ( need ironing )...complete disinterest in customers. What a shame.. Look past that and you're fine 😊

Staff need to improve their greeting with a smile. Were not relaxed. Stressed. Tables empty, but full with crockery of some kind. I felt as I needed to help them out. Our food was cold. Will just go shopping. Nothing to eat or drink in future.

If you like some food with your cooking oil then don't come here! Everything dripping in oil, more fat than meat on the bacon, toast stone cold, eggs snotty and undercooked, mushroom dripping in oil but still under cooked, sausage dry and tasteless (like it has sat on a counter for a week before being deep fried!) Fried bread solid like deep fried stale bread and literally sat in a puddle of oil! One star is offered for the tea and coffee! Will definitely not be eating here again.

We have just had the worst breakfast ever. The bacon fat was white, not cooked, mushroom not cooked, sausage was white, not cooked, egg was snotty the goo came off & it made me feel sick, the only good part was the beans and toast. My husbands was the same only he had fried bread which was dripping in oil. In future we will stick with Morrison’s which is always good.

I give a low score due to not the food. The food is not bad and is tasty. But the older lady that works there is the most obnoxious rude and vile lady. I really do not know how she is still there. First time we got to the till at yes 11.30am my child asked for food from lunch menu sorry it only from 11.30 it is no it's 11.29am I was like what and by the time she said her moan it was 11.40am and still had to order off the morning menu. Now today I go there it's 11.15am okay yes my child forgot about the time she asked for off the 11.30am menu the old lady there said sorry no food from that menu till 11.30am child then was like oh yes sorry so ordered something else but the women who was next behind my child she asked for something off the 11.30am menu and got it and it was 11.15am after telling my child can't have it. Now she was behind next after my child this older lady is the most worse employee ever. Saw the shift manager she agreed with me it was wrong and said she have a word and offerd her apologies and told my child to get a cake anyone. Ow when she did the older women gave her the most evil look. If this was anyone else she be sacked. No she do it to more people as she thinks she get away with it. If you ever get this lady I hope she is nice to you as they have had complaint after complaints about this women nasty evil women..

Popped in for latte and sandwich on way back to Whitstable. Asked for extra hot latte but got warm took it back to get a hotter one, they heated it up. I had a tuna and sweetcorn my wife had egg mayonnaise with decaf tea. The tuna and sweetcorn had limp lettuce in and the bread on one side had no butter in. The tuna filling needed salt and pepper and just covered the middle of the bread making it very dry. The egg mayo was the same without the lettuce. Definite no return.

Only cooked breakfast available all day ???? .we ordered 2 and it was undercooked slimy eggs cold sauasage and bacon, easily the worst cafe in our area.cutlery dirty and teaspoons m.i.a .tables cluttered and dirty .would like to add something positive but cant .

We went in here and had a toasted pannini and coffee . The service was very slow as only one lady and a young man , that it looked like she was training . Food was fine and the place was clean , access to a toilet .

Always stocked with items, staff are always friendly and helpful. Till service is brilliant too. Always come to this place for some amazing deals.

Often pop in for snack after shopping in Tesco,small cafe serving usual sandwiches,cakes plus meals,Normally have drink with eggs on toast or similar,service varies a lot,some staff are excellent others don’t want to be there I’m sure.food we have had is normally ok don’t wait long,tables perhaps need clearing and cleaning more often,but guess that’s due to staffing levels,Long as you don’t expect to much it’s fine and reasonable.

The staff are generally lovely but today I got almost completely raw tomatoes with my omlette.
