Tesco Cafe in Torfaen

I had an all day breakfast and my wife the Halloumi burger and chips. Reassuring wait for the food, so cooked fresh. My wife loved the fries and said the burger was delicious. My breakfast was a good size, bonus of good quality sausages, rather than the production line cheapies that you normally get in such places. Definitely coming again for Saturday lunch before shopping in the very good, large, well-stocked supermarket.

Musak was a little too modern for the clientele

Ordered a sausage bacon and hashbrown bap, had no sausage in it. Also ordered 2 toffee apple crumbles but they were out of stock. Absolutely fuming will never be ordering from here again.

I ordered a latte and was delivered a milkshake

Black pudding was a bit undercooked the coffee well I didn’t get to enjoy it as it was empty by the time it arrived because it spilled in the delivery drivers car

Can’t fault the portions at all, a lovely environment.

Received a partial order on Monday. Only received 2 out of 4 iced flat whites, and the iced mocha had spilt leaving us with unusable straws, sticky drinks and a huge mess to clean up. As well as only a quarter cup of mocha.bag was dripping on arrival

Slowest cafe ever Poor food poor hygiene looking staff serving.

No beans or butter and only 1 piece of toast with the big breakfast

Disappointing, maybe caught it at bad time (lunchtime !!?? only seemed to be 1 person cooking n serving?), veggy brekky took about 30min to come (I was in a rush too) and wasn't that good when it did. Table not cleaned till middle of meal. About £10 for brekky n coffee seems overpriced. However pleasant staff raise stars to 2 !

Didn’t get the right drinks at all

The drink was great, the portion sizes are very very small, the food itself tasted fine to good (the lemon muffin is delicious though), the avocado isnt actually smashed, the scampi meal didn't include its tartar sauce which made it dry and not so fun to sat. Finally the peas & beans were an incredibly small portion bc they were in little dip pots. Price doesn't feel worth it so unlikely to order again.

I came with my daughter today. There were some issues with tills and evidently staff were facing more challenges than usual. However remained friendly, polite and food was good 😊 thank you

Love that they have vegan options. Priced reasonably for the food. Although canned drinks are overpriced (more than they sell them instore). Staff are friendly, and there's a decent amount of space. Good place to go for a catch up.

Served today by nicola and she made us feel very welcome , my little boy loved talking to her

Took 45 minutes minutes for smashed avocado on toast, ham and cheese panini and and other chorizo and avocado toast. Had requested a poached egg to which the egg yolk couldn't have been any firmer. Asked for a replacement poached egg which took another 10 minutes, which also was well over cooked and not runny in the slightest. Both avocado toasts were supposed to be on sourdough bread and we're just on a big standard loaf of bread. Would of been quicker if I had been allowed into the kitchen and done it myself.

Coffe is perfect in a warm & friendly atmosphere

Took over an hour to arrive. Both toastie and fries were in the same box with the fries underneath the toastie. This meant the fries were soggy by the time it arrived. These 2 items were not ordered as a meal and were for different people so should have been boxed/packed separately.

I can't believe tescos charge the same as a decent cafe when they have only 2 bottles of tomatoes sauce between over 30 tables to add insult to injury they use there own cheap sauce .Seems to me all the food the use in the cafe are the cheapest range ie bread sausages bacon etc.. I go to Boswells in cwmbran at least the produce are good quality.

We visited for lunch after an activity at the nearby ski slope. The menu looked ok and there were plenty of spare seats so we went ahead and ordered. We waited 40 minutes for our food (panini and katsu curry). It would have been nice to have been told that there was such a long wait for food before we ordered. There were lots of tables with used plates and cups so not as much choice of seating as we first thought.

Haven't been here in years as it was really poor food and service was terrible. What a change around! Nice environment now it's been refurbished. Good menu choices. The man that served us was highly professional. We chose posh beans on toast with poached egg and chorizo. Very good and reasonably priced. Coffee was lovely. Will be going back.

I haven't been here for years. Was pleasantly surprised to see that this place has had a refurb. It looks very inviting and modern. But it wasn't at all inviting and I won't be returning here after the awful customer service by the lady who was working on the counter this afternoon. You'd swear she was TRYING to drive customers away. No manners or people skills whatsoever. My partner ordered chicken strips and seasoned fries, I ordered a ham and cheese panini... Now I understand that times are tough with money, etc.. but 1 piece of ham and a hint of cheese flavour from my sad looking panini was shocking.. my partner's 'seasoned' fries were literally a normal portion of fries with a sprinkling of dry seasoning on top.... I know this isn't the Ritz and you get what you pay for... But it's put me off returning here again. Atleast our baby girl had fun and enjoyed her cold scrambled eggs on toast.

Can't understand these critical comments about rude staff. No they're not, they're all lovely ladies, polite and friendly. Always the same there. I went there 14th Feb, had avocado chorizo and eggs on toast and it was a really nice breakfast. The atmosphere is good, no faults anywhere.

What a joke of a place. First time coming in since the refurbishment, went in 3pm on a Friday and told they've stopped cooking as closing soon. They close at 5pm. They've stopped cooking 2 hours before closing. So certainly not suitable for parents after school. The prices are extortionate. £2 for a can of Fanta! It's a supermarket cafe.. then £3 for a kids sandwich, fruit and drink. Yet go in any competitor.. morrisons hot kids meal free. Asda kids hot meal £1. Asda also give you a baby pouch free. I can go in asda, get a full large pizza, 2 large drinks, a baby pouch, and a hot kids meal. £13. Today was £21 for 2 paninis, 2 shortbread, 2 cans of Fanta and a kids meal. Certainly won't be back, well out of touch tesco. The food quality wasn't even decent. The panini is a thin single slice of ham, chucked on a plate on its own. Not even a little side salad. And £4.25!

Never been anywhere and had such a bad experience! The most rude staff I’ve ever encountered filthy looks from them made to feel unwelcome could tell they didn’t want to be there. Food was terrible had fish and chips and the batter was thick and slimy the batter was made awfully and not cooked correctly the fish was mushy inside Sausages were more cold than warm chips were half cooked and stiff raw in the middle. “COLD” drinks fridge was turned off staff said this was because not many people get cold drinks so I had to choose a warm cola and warm orange juice for the kids! Worst experience I’ve had in a cafe appalling

Had a very nice flat white there today. They serve a very good value breakfast and the surroundings are comfortable
