Mcdonald's Restaurants in Torfaen

The staff are lovely and amazing service at off peak times, but at rush hour you're in for a wait. The orders can get mixed up from time to time but understandable when taking hundreds of orders an hour. The restaurant/toilets are always clean and the kitchen is clearly well maintained too. Food is hot most of the time and well prepared. Considering it's one of the busiest McDonalds in South Wales I really can't complain.

Twice they got my order wrong, so I will be checking next time.

Never had any issues here at all. Food is always good nothing ever wrong. If there is an issue then staff are happy to help. Can get busy in there which increases the wait times but I understand that its gonna get tough when its busy.

Went to charity boxing event. Very dangerous, very overcrowded. Definitely a fire hazard. Very overpriced drink and food. Will never go again!!!

Placed our order on the self serve and when it turned up the fries were cold. There were loads of portions of fries just sat there going cold so saw no point In getting replacement fries. Waited a while for sauce. Fast food this isn't.

During non-peak times it's fairly quick and easy, very busy on peak times though! Food is usually good though.

This place use to be good before all the deliveries took over. Service inside the store takes 15 minutes on average and more often than not the order is incorrect when using the drive through. The staff seem deflated and unmotivated.

McDonald's seem to be the only people who can do it..... find the most useless bunch of people and some how find them employable. Fast food is nothing something this branch understand the concept of. Walking in I noticed it was exceptionally busy, there was a couple at the table waiting and a bunch of lads eating already (they must have got there several hours ago). Once I fought my way through the crowd of 0 I ordered. Waiting for only 24 mins to be served my food. Don't be fooled into thinking you could ask someone in there for an update, you would be forgiven for thinking you had just interrupted a teenage boy who has just discovered the "other use" for his manhood. But have no fear, after 24 mins I got my food. I live about 15 mins away from here so headed home looking forward to my food (after all it must be the best burger around with that sort of wait time). Unfortunately I could tell you.... because the burger was missing. So after the other people I was with ate their food I then decided to cook myself something so I actually had some food. Hopefully the extra money they had from me for the burger i didn't receive can go towards vocal lessons for the 3 x factor wannabes who can remember the words to "Cher - do you believe" but can't count to 1 when counting amount of burgers in a bag. I get the concept of take away, fast food and all that comes with it, but come on, it's pretty much as simple as it gets when cooking and they still can't employ people who can get it right. Hopefully this September when all the current youths in school leave and are looking for a career in burger flipping, they have had enough of a maths lesson to make it to 1.

I was sat in drive through for at least 45 minutes and food was cold

Once again a lukewarm latte and food that wasn’t even close to warm.

The chips was horrible and cold looks like left over chips from today or something and the Burger was ok but to much salad and sauce I personally preferred KFC or Burger King for any day to order food or go in restaurant I won’t be eating McDonald’s ever again I use like eating McDonald’s it has gone hill over years.

The food was fresh and hot. Friendly atmosphere with a member of staff even asking if we enjoyed our meal! This was a completely new experience for McDonald's. Well done Tony.

We had been to local hospital for 6 hrs and left at around 1.30am Hungary, so we past mcdonald's and decided to eat in as we were still 40 minutes from home. The food was ordered and 15 minutes later came out to us, we had our first bite and burgers were luke warm, I was going to take them back but we were so hungry and didn't want to wait again so we ate them and left a empty mcdonald's.... You could see why it was quiet. 😒

Lots of spaces outside, not so much inside; Saturday lunchtime saw a big, fast moving queue at the Drive Thru seemingly being served ahead of the Click and Serve spaces, but it was generally busy. Easy to get in and out of if you're in the area, and easier than trying to drive and park for the central Cwmbran McDonald's!

Luke warm food once again, I think they nest be cutting back on there energy use.

Got my order wrong twice, firstly gave a double pounder with one patty. Then when I went to ask for my correct order, they failed to give me the burger with things removed.

Food not that warm, as the staff puts it together then leave it by the open window. When staff told about this they dont particularly care. No atmosphere..

Best McDonald’s I’ve had for a while and I rarely log into my Google account to make a review. It’s been a while since I’ve had a McDonald’s and felt satisfaction, instead of pure disgust at myself for resorting to it. Sat at the drive through for a while before realising it wasn’t working though, only downside

Lovely experience. Manager was so very nice. He brought special kids packets to our children and was so engaging. Food was wonderful. So many options! Clean facilities and prompt service.

I have to say that out of all fast food restaurants in the area this McDonalds is by far the cleanest. I feel safe eating here.

The food was fine per se. I ordered my burger without pickle, but I ended up with pickle. I ordered a happy mean with a toy, it came with a book. It's also freezing in there, take a winter coat if you eat in.

Always get orders wrong. Latest one i ask for mozzarella sticks and got spicey nacho wedges . Most of the time staff are friendly just need to listen and get orders right.

had the most amazing experience here coming here first time. i was served by a lovely young lady by the name Nerys. i believe it was her first day and she did an amazing job, she was so friendly. i hope to see her again soon😊😊

One of the slowest drive thoughs you ever go to Just make sure you fill up with fuel before going though 👍 and then when you get to the intercom thing they say just a minute hour later and ten other cars go through the other side like do teens know how to tell the time 🤷 these days and a cappuccino ends up like a flat white

Thank you Keiron!!!! He made our evening!! We were booked in at The Otter at 6:15pm (15/9/23) for my daughters birthday, big mistake. We left at 830pm after a refund as our meals were forgotten about! Absolutely awful attitude from their manager. We then walked over to McDonald's and I asked Kieron if we could bring in a birthday cake, he quickly checked with management and said yes! He was so lovely and he genuinely made our evening much better with his humour and jokes. Please give him a big well done and recognition!!

Staff were very friendly and prompt with the order. Restaurant was very clean and tidy.

I went to get some breakfast with a guest before continuing on to Cwmbran for shopping. I placed our food order, which was then taken to a different table, and the customer at the table brought it back. A young staff member took the food back & left it on the side, not asking if it was theirs. I waited 25 minutes only to be told that it was my food which had then gone cold. This store has a lot of staff but, they trip over each other which causes problems such as this. If I was asked, "Would you go back," my answer would be "maybe.."

Got there at 1am after an A&E trip, It was shut! NOT A 24 HOUR RESTAURANT, take it off google, save customers the drive.

Couldn't get on my app straight away for some reason,once ordered food took a while as priority seems to be for the drive through,we had table service and some of the order was missing,the table behind waited ages and still their order was wrong, plus side was the lovely lady cleaning tables and helping others with their order

It's a maccas. Don't really think it needs a description but food was decent and we enjoyed it.

Having ordered pancakes and sausage meal and requesting 2 syrups (gladly would have paid for extra syrup), we were asked to park up. 10 mins later the meal turned up without the sausage or syrup. When they were returned I was told that even due to a 10 min wait, and the order being wrong, that I would only be allowed one syrup. Awful customer service. Definitely would not recommend.

Attended to collect a breakfast where the server had the mental ability of a particularly slow amoeba. After what I believed to be a resolution of the issues surrounding a simple order of two breakfast meals, I have them proceeded the the collection window. I was handed the correct drinks and the food and ensured I checked the bag as I would normally do. Everything seemed to be correct at the time. On returning to my chosen alfresco dinning location I found the food cold and completely wrong. Can you imagine the appointment of finding bacon when all you wanted was sausage. In a words Devastated

Pontypool McDonald's never get ordered food right 0/5 staff just don't care, missing items off food just strug shoulder

Just about had enough of Pontypool McDonald's (New Inn). Had a few breakfasts delivered via Ubereats and there is *always* something missing, wrong or 'broken'. Being key workers, we look forward to a weekend treat and New Inn McDoanld's shatters that treat every time. Typical problems: hash browns missing from meals, syrups missing from pancakes, bacon missing from sausage & egg McMuffins (when extra bacon ordered and paid for). Even had hot chocolates turn up only half filled. What a huge waste of money. So disappointed. And nothing you can do about it because you can't contact anyone to speak to about it (Ubereats say contact the restaurant). Verging on a scam.

Food average and order incorrect.Uber Eats Delivery Drivers walking around with no masks and ordering food on the touch-screen without sanitizing hands, however customers being spoken to in an assertive manner regarding COVID rules.Staff (including manager) discussing confidential staff & driver issues in the restaurant in front of customers, whilst using inappropriate language. Very unprofessional and sloppy..... Nothing changes at this restaurant.

Well well well, McDonalds Pontypool you have exceeded expectation of pure don't give a crap about the food you serve. The large quarter pounder was the worst ever, photo below, not quite sure anyone would refer to this as salad, nonunion, 3 stands of lettuce, absolutely dire and stone cold, as was my partners big mac and our large fries!!!! No what we wanted when we ordered and paid!! perhaps because it's a drive through staff may think it's ok as people drive away and don't bother to complain. It's not ok you're letting the whole brand down and diddling customers of hot and tasty food.

On the 8th Oct 2020 05.15 drove to the first order station waited for service two cars got served on the other station, still waiting so I moved to the other station waited then another car got served on the station i was on originally still waited then eventually spoke to the operator and when I question about the long delay and 3 other cars were served before me I was told to leave without an apology or explanation. Staff to busy messing about and not concentrating on thier job, very rude staff attitudes and this isn't the first time this has happened won't be going there again.

Came here with my friends on our way to camping and we were very impressed. Welcomed at the door with social distancing measures by a lovely gentleman named Neil, sanitised and given a sparkling table. Food was delicious! Best McDonald’s i’ve ever had, wraps distributed evenly and tasted delightful right to the last bite. The chips were salted to perfection. Table service was great and were checked up on during our meal. Service came with a smile (under masks of course). We’re planning our route home via this McDonald’s, see you in a couple of days!

Called here for a late lunch, after completing track and trace we were shown to our table, from the start the restaurant was cool so much so we put our coats back on, the air vent outlet was above our table. Food didn't take long to arrive and we asked that the blower be turned down or off ... needless to say nothing happened! Having taken our food out of the bag .. it promptly blew off the table closely followed by the empty chip containers ... within a short while once hot food became cold, not looking forward to a return visit anytime soon

Customer servicing from this store is terrible! I only ordered 2 boxes of chicken mc nuggets and 3 apple pie. It took more than half an hour to get my food and I even had to speak to the store manager in order to claim my food as it was completely forgotten after having made to wait more than 25 minutes at one of the parking bays.I will not recommend this store to any of my friends.

I arrived just after 11:00 and upon ordering meals at drive thru was told no milkshakes are available. Then driving around to payment window there was a customer Standing at that window in the heavy rain holding his paper bag complaining that items were missing from his order. On receiving my order I decided to check my items only to find the chicken nuggets were missing. These people do ONE thing and even that is beyond their limited abilities. They are utterly pathetic

Completely shocking service this morning I had decided after taking my dog for a walk that I was going to treat my husband who is working from home due to Covid19 to McDonald’s breakfast I made my order which was two sausage and egg McMuffin’s one with a latte and one with an orange juice I’ve always enjoyed the hashbrowns so I thought you know what I’m going to treat myself and I’m gonna have additional hashbrowns. Why did I think that was a good idea well upon Reaching at the payment desk which the boy was lovely cannot fault him very pleasant all good only down side I Was at this point nobody told me that the hashbrowns were not cooked. Reaching the next window for the boys say to me that the hashbrowns were being gCooked so I will need to wait. I need to pack up the dreaded words *you need to be parked* up genuine story if you don’t have it in stock let them know at the order window or payment window, you’re gonna have to wait a few minutes because we don’t have a cooked at the moment not hard is it. me being stupidly nice person park up and think nothing of it until ........ I watch the car behind like two seconds behind me get served hashbrowns The very reason I had been Parked for, I know this is because the little girl was holding them out the window to cool them down as they drove past cruel I know... getting a little bit disgruntled thinking oh well my food I’ll be out now immediately because I mean that’s all we are waiting on was hashbrowns no five cars later six if you include the one with the woman walking over the zebra crossing I was served and I was thinking you know you’ve taken my money and you’re still waiting to give me my food it’s not even funny so I got annoyed I did tell the lady I was going to make a complaint going to make a complaint think it’s absolute disgusting not the first time and I’m sure as hell think it’s not gonna be the last. but getting home giving my husband his food... Has anyone ever had warm food from here??? Decided eat in and couldn't get a seat although they allow load of youths to just sit in there with no food taking up the seats. Bit pathetic really

some times have to wait in designated area for food to be brought to you. Can often be a bit of a wait.

Food order taken straight away, 2 minutes wait for food queue to go around in the drive thru whilst watching people being people and driving over the central kerb then getting stuck. Hilarious. It's not rocket science to stay in lane.Payment was taken quickly and order checked at this point. Food order was ready when moved to this point.Would recommend.

when i came here to eat and use the wash rooms i was shocked to find that there was feces all over the bathroom and the food tasted 2 days old and the chicken tasted unprepared i do not recommend this place.

Ordered hamburger and fries from the drive-through at 3.15am. Was asked to wait in the carpark while it was "cooked fresh". When I got it home I opened up the burger to find 4 of the 6 advertised ingredients were missing and tasted like it was cooked yesterday. This place really is run for children, by children.

Visited here the other evening, first time for awhile, things have improved since my last visit, the food was hot and edible.

Me and my friend waited 30 minutes for our food, which came cold. We were sat down waiting for our food, in which time many others were sat/stood waiting for theirs too. This was late Tuesday evening, around 11pm. It was a total joke! Totally enough staff on hand to be putting out orders quickly and efficiently. Another customer even offered to go and find out where mine and my friend’s food was, as they’d come in, eaten their food and were about to leave and all this time we’d been sat at our table waiting for our food! I come here frequently and I’ve always had a good and quick service (apart from coming late to find there being no ice creams or milkshakes, but then again, when do they ever work?) but this has really soured my taste at this. McDonald’s and I‘ll definitely be going to Newport for a while rather than here.

So fed up of coming back from this McDonalds annoyed!I've complained numerous of times over the years about the service here.Recently went to the drive through and asked for a syrup porridge.That was it.I got told to wait in the bay so ten minutes later it comes.I drive off as I'm going to be late for work at this point.Probably my fault but I didnt realise there wasnt any syrup.so had a discusting porridge without the syrup and was too late to go sort it.It doesnt seem a massive issue but when things like this after often it gets extremely irritating.The voice on the drive through was extremely miserable.Literally no effort and sounded like they hated there job and there life tbh.No good morning just a bland ok drive around.The staff ar this place needs extra training for sure.Training on how to speak to customers and training on how to read the orders.As there is always somthing missing from mine or its stone cold.

Great location which is open 24/7.Always use Drive thru.Staff are friendly at taking orders and payment then issuing out food.Had to park up but this was less than 5 minutes with the food delivered to the car.Food was piping hot and milk shakes were still thick when I got home.Would recommend.

I went to McDonald’s drive through In pontypool with my 3 year old daughter. We made our order and Paid our bill. We were then asked to wait in the bay for our meals. We waited 5/10 minutes. A lovely member of staff gave us our food. He was slightly more senior than the others serving on the drive through. He chatted and was very friendly. I drove home to my partner to eat our meal. When I got home, we found that a quarter pounder meal was missing & my signature spicey was a cheese burger with bacon in. So I got back in the car, left everything to go cold and drove to McDonald’s. I arrived and explained my issues. Within 10 minutes, I was given my whole order, cooked fresh and drinks too. I was more than happy with how they handled my complaint and I went home to enjoy my meal. Thanks McDonald’s team at pontypool , your a friendly bunch!

Good food really fast service even when it's busy always go to this one when I'm in work as you never have to wait long and also food is hot

I do not know why people are unhappy with this place, because all of the staff are always so cheerful and happily accommodating. McDonald's food is standard pricing and you get what you always get there, but the staff make a place better by being so cheerful, the only downside was that we could not find any space outside to eat as we had our dog with us.

I know it's meant to be British Summer Time and the clocks have gone forward but it was cold in there yesterday, my insipid fries got cold and limp quickly. The bun on my Big Tasty was falling to bits as I ate it.

They should have a sign saying there's no milkshakes after a certain time because every time I visit in the evening there's never any available. Also the food is cold, you would think as it's quiet it would be fresh but I think they cook the food up and leave it until a customer purchases it. Overall an unpleasant experience..

Absolutely truly awful customer service by Katherine the "Manager". Id question if she really is the Manager as her sole purpose seems to be to impress her work colleagues at the expense of the customer. Seemed to address any issue with the purpose of winning an argument rather than getting to the issue.

I stopped off here for supper. Ample parking space, with no litter. Excellent service from Nicole and my meal arrived very quickly (considering how busy it was). Surroundings were again clean and tidy, which was constantly being cleaned by Pat. People could've helped her by tidying away their own mess you'd have thought. I don't know, some folk?

Just off the A4042. We used the drive thru which was quick and simple. Food prices are reasonable and both the food and drink were spot on. No issues to report after reading other reviews.

Used this restaurant recently with children who take a while to eat. Was parked in the car park 5 mins longer than they apparently allow and so they now want to charge me £85. Essentially this particular restaurant should not be used by people who want to sit in and eat.

Once again given wrong food. Cold fries, half full coke, wrong ice cream, chicken mayo given instead of legend.

I naively thought, it cant be constantly bad,so popped in purely for the ease of using the drive thru. Checked the bag before leaving as they usually leave something out.

What a waste of money when over half of your food is cold and inedible only one place for it and that's the bin.

First time I have ordered via the touch screen. Quickly choose our Breakfast and sat down. 15 mins Later our Meal arrived (Fast Food Not) and it was warm I had the wrap and the wrap was cold on the outside which didn't help. The member of staff that was front of house must have been on the drink the night before. Kept drinking coffee all the time in his little room and when we left was asleep on the chair by the door. don't think we will bother with this place again

I have given up using this branch of McDonald's. Slow poor service and poor stock control - they ran out of fillet of fish on a Saturday afternoon. I took mine back because the meals were cold and they could not replace it with another one as they had no stock left.

Parked in the waiting bay as food was being cooked ,Suppose it will be fresh so fine, as we're sat there three rats came over the bank from the railway line OMG really , and once the food did arrive after 15 mins it was wrong and bit missing I had to go back in anyway

Waited at one of the drive through points for 10 mins after someones order was placed to ALL the cars on my right (even after arriving way after i did) getting custom before i did! I finally managed to reverse and go through the second drive thru point to cars arriving AGAIN and getting served FIRST on my left!! Finally placed my order and drove around to see a young lad on his own (YOU NEED MORE STAFF) to go to the collection point to see a group of people messing around (NOT WORKING!!) then to top it all up I had to park up to wait for my mcflurries!!!! A normal 15 min trip turned into 35 mins!!! Awful!

All McDonalds food is processed and I would not eat there of choice but on this occasion I had to. The chemically enhanced flavours are truey awful.

Made a very small order at drive through. Was made to park up and wait 15 mins. Only to be asked what my order was when they came to the car. Pathetic.

Once again items missing from the order, leading to another wait in the parking bay,the food that they did actually remember to put in the bag, naturally goes stone cold during the inevitable 10-15 min wait.When you ask for fresh food, you just get a puzzled look and "I will need to check with my manager".At this point I am losing the will to live and just drive off with my food, some hot , some cold. I shouldn't really moan because this is standard at Pontypool Mcds. Saying that,the drive through is easy esp if you have the kids with you, just be sure to check your bag prior to leaving as you will be lucky if they haven't messed it up, quarter filled boxes of large fries are the Pontypool branches signature dish btw

I have had so many bad experiences at this mcdonalds - cold food, parts of order forgotten etc. But today we went inside to eat and the food was hot and prepared fast. A staff member gave my daughter a balloon which she loved making my meal time easier (parent thing). Lets hope they keep it up

Our first visit in some time and we found that this restaurant had had a new upgrade. Very busy on this Saturday evening. So much so that the cars were nearly queuing on the main roundabout for the drive thru. The main carpark had ample space.

Rubbish service, food thrown together. Car park messy and full of boy racers! Would rather starve than have to go...

As so often happens here, totally over run with unruly teenagers, only 2 out of a dozen bought anything and...
