Terra. Cucina Italiana in Stroud

My partner and I had a wonderful meal here with great and attentive service from Clara. We shall definitely be returning! Highly recommended!

We have been twice now. First time for lunch and I had a delicious truffle risotto (cooked perfectly) and my husband had fish which he said was very good. We had a coffee and mascarpone cake and tiramisu for dessert and our 2 year daughter was well catered for with tomato pasta and ice cream. Have also been for coffee and cake which again was delicious. More expensive than your average cafe but the cakes are incredible and very generous portion. Highly recommend and I hope they succeed. Only down fall I think is not enough people know about them as in the department store and only do one evening a week.

Midweek lunch with a friend in December, we'd not booked and turned up on spec, there was only a single other table occupied. Most of the main courses were £18-£24 with sides on top. Service was pretty good but unremarkable and we had to request the side which had evidently been forgotten and arrived when we were well into the main course. The food itself was absolutely fine but nothing to go wow over. I wish them luck but left feeling that they're positioning themselves at the top of the market and the ambition hasn't yet matched the reality.

This is a real hidden gem. The nicest meal that I have eaten out for ages. The menu was small yet filled with so many amazing sounding things (think Butternut squash and bacon creme brulee!). What arrived was full of flavour, beautiful presented and just the right size to accommodate the whole 3 courses (although the tiramisu for pudding was huge....but the nicest I have ever had so I definitely couldn't leave any!) Service was friendly , helpful and efficient. The culinary talent and experience here were so good, I can't help but feel it should be a stand alone independent restaurant which is a destination in itself, rather than tucked away in the back of a department store! I would definitely recommend visiting here, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely restaurant with good menu and lovely service. We went with friends on the later night opening on a Friday. It was reasonably busy and the atmosphere was good. The menu was not to large and the choice good. The standard of ingredients and cooking was very good. It is great to have this addition to the Stroud restaurant scene, just a shame that it does not open later on a Saturday evening.

A gem of a find! We’d heard very positive things about this restaurant and decided to book an early evening table for four to enjoy an apperitivo - and what a great decision that was! We each had a limoncello spritzer - limoncello with Prosecco, topped up with soda water, with strawberry, ice etc - which was fabulously created at the bar from fresh! Truly authentic!! We then shared a charcuterie board served with a lovely selection of hams, breads, cheeses, grapes etc … and again all freshly prepared! Simply delicious! Too complement it all, the service was great too! The other dishes coming out from the kitchen for other guests looked amazing! I have no hesitation recommending this restaurant and we will certainly visit again to enjoy lunch and dinner! Well done Terra for delivering a fabulous experience!

Lovely surroundings, pleasant serving staff and interesting menu. Bottom of menu mentions 10% service charge which can be removed on request. At time of payment I asked for this to be removed. Student waitress returned to till to ask how this could be done and was told to return to us to ask why we didn't want to pay it. I did not like to be challenged and thought it bad form that the inexperience member of staff was sent to do it rather than whoever was supervising. Not a nice experience for us as diners nor the waitress who carried out the unpleasant taks with great dignity and politeness.
