The worst GP ever - receptionists are very invasive of your privacy and want to ask you what your condition is before they book an appointment and then they tell you to make a e-online consultation because they cannot book you for an appointment, then they don’t book you an appointment they just say our systems are down! I am in a critical condition and this is. The treatment I get - worse GP in my life do nottttt come here

I’ve I had the option I would leave no stars. The attitude of that nasty women they’ve hired as a receptionist is scary. Not only did she (who is not qualified) tell my elderly grandmother to go to a physiotherapist when she complained about her feet that have been hurting for weeks, but she told her that she was holding up the line I did not need a doctor. Is this the type of environment I trust to look after my grandmother? The answer is no.

I have been with this practice for over 15 years. When it changed hands, the staff who handle the administration , front office and telephone enquiries are a nightmare to deal with. I choose to remain with the practice because of a few salaried doctors & medical staff who are excellent. This practice was one of the best practices when Dr Rowberry’s & Dr Harri’s management. It is an ongoing struggle with the telephone receptionists. Today I spoke to Ambika, do not know if she has any medical experiences, but asked me questions a qualified medical staff member would ask, then she asks me to fill in an online e-consult form. Did not want to give me a telephone appointment. When I asked to speak to a senior staff member, she was willing to give me an appointment. After booking my appointment asked her to transfer my call to the Practice Manager or give his number. She asked me to get the number from Google. If not for Dr Kapoor,Dr Duggal, Dr Pettigrew and Dr Taylor, nurse Adrian and the Phlebotomy service, I would leave the practice. I sincerely hope the practice manager ensures the reception staff are patient focused.

Anytime I have tried to get an appointment for myself or my child they are so reluctant to give you an appointment as they are always complaining of being short staffed. If you do manage to convince them to give you an appointment you’ll find yourself waiting a MINIMUM of 40 minutes to actually be seen anytime you have an appointment. Not to mention how unhelpful and unprofessional the staff actually are. Would definitely not recommend!

Had very upsetting experience today. Had to wait for my daughter (6years) to be seen for an hour and a half. Just one doctor working today! Needless to say how difficult it is to get an appointment. THANK YOU RIMSHA The front office service at TFGM is improving definitely & there is hope for patients to experience the level of service we used to have during Dr Harris & Dr C Rowbury’s time at the practice. Today for the second time I spoke to a wonderful staff member - Rimsha . She has been consistent in her approach whrn dealing with patient enquiries. Talking to her as the first point of contact, gives hope to be a patient at TFGM. We have exceptionally wonderful doctors but it’s always, the front office staff who create hurdles. I would like to thank Rimsha for all her support. When you raise an enquiry with Rimsha, & if she is unable to resolve the query whilst you are on the phone, she will definitely come back with an update. This is my personal experience and I am sure anyone who talks to Rimsha will feel the same. Thank you Rimsha.🙏🏽

I registered up for this GP in the end of 2019. I'm in good health, I exercise and eat well, so I didn't need to see a doctor for the first three years. Unfortunately, I had some serious stomach problems last year and had to turn to them, and I quickly discovered that seeing the doctor in person was really difficult; I was constantly forced to accept visits via phone. However, they did expose me to a series of extremely complex and invasive tests to screen for cancer. Some of these gets additionally pushed me to seek treatment sooner in private, paid facilities in Italy. After a year of hospitalisations and visits, thankfully all with negative results, I still have the same major difficulties. I went to a private clinic two months ago, partially because I was weary of feeling sick and partly because of this GP's lack of professionalism. They told me right away that I had a food intolerance and given me a plan to follow for a month. My problems had practically disappeared after a week. The private clinic advised me to get tested for intolerances and allergies such as gluten, lactose, and so on. They told me to return to my usual doctor and request that these tests be performed as soon as possible. I went to my GP today and discussed everything to the doctor who has been observing me lately. She wouldn't let me take these tests, only the gluten testing. She also refused to allow me to get a dermatological examination, which I had requested for months. She told me that she could only solve one problem per appointment, 10 min. max. Very good, but the government, they take my money to pay your salary in full, not just a portion. And I can't say no like you do. There is no problem, doctor. Every time I visit your centre, I note senior citizens who are desperate and upset at you, complaining about your service. So, since I can travel freely moving around, I registered with another GP as soon as I left your clinic today. I know I haven't done much, but perhaps you'll have a little more time for someone else from now on. And others will do the same as me, and there will come a time when you will have few patients to follow, and I'm sure you will be able to listen better, be kinder, and spend more time to each one. All the best Federico Usai

I have been with this surgery for around 12 years, and when it changed hands, it has been an awful experience. I have a hernia, and was seen by two different GP's there, and did not get a referral to a hospital, they just said it would 'Stay like that', no care about the long-term health implications. I have often been 1 hour on hold on the line on the telephone, just to speak to a receptionist. They were supposed to make a referral to a specialist clinic, they did not send my ultra-sound for 6 weeks, which delayed my being seen, and I am still waiting. only found out about it as I insisted on being given the number, and rang them myself. They are very incompetent, uncaring, and the health department should shut them down. Don't bother registering with them, as they don't care for patients, or their health.

However, when I didn’t hear anything from them after 15 days and I went back to the GP, I was told by the receptionist that they forgot to send my urgent requests for the norologist and Scan. Bit tricky to get in touch... Called and was told to ring out of hours dr, which I did but was told they couldn't help me and to call 111... rather tedious to be passed from pillar to post but I guess that is the system and the NHS is on its knees. On the plus side - the receptionist I spoke to was friendly AND I did mange to book in a telephone conversation with a dr. who was able to help swiftly and effectively. She also gave me useful advice about the next steps if the antibiotics didn't do the trick. It's early days with this practice but based on my experience it's more likely to be the chronic cuts that these services face that is the real problem rather than any issue with the people working in the system who are doing their best to help...

Possibly the most counter-intuitive appointments system ever conceived of in human history. Call at 8.30am ON THE DOT and even then it's a phone roulette you'll be lucky enough to get an appointment. The old system cheerfully informed you "you are caller number 24 in the queue" as you stayed on hold for up to 45mins or more only to be told that there are no more appointments, please call back at 2.00pm ON THE DOT to wash, rinse and repeat the process. Miss either of those times by more than 30 seconds and you won't get an appointment, no matter how badly you need one. "Go to A&E" they say. "Get a better system" I say. Recently, they did away with the 'caller number x' message too so now it's anyone's guess if you'll get an appointment when they eventually answer. Patients are constantly redirected to the online app which routinely offers appointments in surgeries or pharmacies more than half an hour away by public transport. Why would someone ill or in pain want to subject themselves to that? And perhaps more importantly, what does the reception team actually busy themselves with between the hours of 8.35am and 1.55pm? It beggars belief who invented the current system, which was bad to begin with but has degenerated into madness thanks to Covid.

How disappointed I am how patients are being treated by the aggressive staff at the surgery where i have been for 15 years. Thursday when I phoned for an appointment there were 17 people waiting before me, so I phoned again later the machine said i was 1st in the queue, but after 7 times saying this no one answered. Consequently i phoned again today feeling very ill and was told there r no appointments. The office manager was very rude to me and said i had had an appointment with the nurse on 19th july and i should call an ambulance. My previous appointment before that was in April when the doctor was supposed to refer me to a foot clinic for a bad toe, which i have not received. I finally went to A&E where I have been for over 4 hrs that I need urgent tests to be done. They are certainly a very uncaring staff and doctors in this surgery.

They have been very kind in allowing me to continue at the surgery even though I have moved out of area. The Doctors on the Herverd/Grossmark side are excellent . However I am very unhappy at the length of time it takes to get through to the surgery even if you are first in the queue and the attitude of some the reception staff when there is a pressing issue that needs a little less inflexible attitude. A little insight into how the person on the end of the phone may be feeling would be appreciated (not least to say more professional) or else give up the day job as you are clearly not happy or good at it.

Visited for afternoon tea. We had booked but when we were being served the waitress said oh we don't usually have tea this late (5pm). She seemed rather flustered but very pleasant. We had booked in at the bar and the chap said he wd bring our prosecco over. It did not materialise and we had to ask again for it and it came at the end of the tea.Tea itself was on a rather grubby cake stand with a large amount of sandwiches and crisps including smoked salmon, cheese and pickle and ham. Nice and fresh. Large pot of tea and we were told we cd have more if we wanted. Scones were not homemade and not warmed thru but quite pleasant although the amount of cream and jam provided was meagre. Not clotted cream either. There was only one fairy cake each which were quite unimaginative with a large blob of synthetic tasting topping. For the voucher offer it was quite a good deal but wouldn't pay full price

This is a quirky, fun venue for afternoon tea. I had read that sometimes there can be a wait, so I didn’t leave anything to chance. I announced myself, said that we had booked in advance, chose a table and, sure enough, our two glasses of Prosecco arrived ‘pronto’. Cakes, scones, cream, jam and three types of sandwich garnished with crisps came on a tiered stand made out of old vinyl records. The owner makes the cake stands himself. We were offered a choice of coffee or tea. There is a ‘blokes ‘version for the same price (sausage rolls, pork pie sandwiches, cakes and beer). The man at the next table was tempted. I was intrigued by the framed photo collection. What do John Lennon, Paul Weller (the lead singer from The Jam) Queen Victoria and Shakespeare have in common? Answers on a postcard, please! The music was pretty loud (a tad too loud) but we really enjoyed the experience. No complaints.

My Wife and I had been looking for a place to take part in a quiz night. We'd seen this place before and checked their website and noted that they did a quiz that started at 7:30 and finished not too late (ideal due to train travel etc). So we decided to give it a go. We got there at 7 and noted the board outside the bar advertising the quiz We opened the drink menu and then spent some time un-sticking all the pages before ordering some drinks (beer and wine) and they were fine. Overall I couldn't shake the feeling that the place was just kind of grubby. The decor wasn't great and the drink selection was underwhelming and the bar staff looked like they couldn't be bothered. It got to 8:35 and the quiz had still not started, all the staff were wondering around playing with their phones and generally looking disinterested so we decided to leave. Really unimpressed with the venue, service, appearance and false advertising and I will not come back to this bar.

We were not shown to any tables it was more find ‘a space’ type of scenario. The table we selected was rather grubby and we actually cleared ourselves using wipes. The Drinks ordered were soft drinks, coke in fact all of which had no flavour as the syrup was missing. When they were taken back we received four more which were more or less the same. The food took a long time to arrive and we were pretty much the only punters in there. I had the burger which had a tiny patty and not much of anything else. All in all very average. The rely was we would need a larger table but there were other people having an afternoon tea there. This was a Groupon offer yet if we had walked in off the street it was the same price. I had tried for nearly one week to book over the phone (at various times of day) but no answer. As or the picture of the food this is misleading and not what you get. The sandwiches are average, scone dry and cup cake not homemade was very sickly. Salt and vinegar crisps seemed a strange flavor to serve as not everyone would eat these. Finally the music was so loud we couldn't hear ourselves think and the staff did not ask us if everything was OK. Probably OK as a pub but afternoon tea venue it most certainly isn't.

Four of us went for afternoon tea, booked well in advance, on a Groupon deal. They settled us into a nice window seat, served prosecco immediately then a few minutes later the food arrived: fresh sandwiches, home-cooked cakes and scones, tea/coffee all beautifully served on retro crockery. One small gripe: would have been better to have clotted cream rather than double cream. Excellent quality, in fact one of the best afternoon teas we have had (and we've had a few). Staff friendly and attentive, nothing too much trouble. Place is a cross between a bar, a bistro and a tea room - probably all of those at different times of day. The Sandwich selection was reasonable - Ham, Smoked Salmon and Cheese and Chutney. The Scones and Cup Cakes didn't have a homemade look about them and were probably shop bought - a bit disappointed that they were brought out on several metal round plates and not the proper tiered jobby, They did have some as another table got one. They maybe need to buy a few more as they had a bit of a run on the Afternoon Teas and obviously didn't have enough! Someone else has mentioned the small tables and we did have to have another table pulled up next to ours to put the food on. That said, Staff were friendly and attentive. They could do with stocking some more variety of soft drinks as the kids wanted J2O's but there weren't any. Decent selection of adult drinks on draft. All in all, reasonable fare at decent prices. Would try again.

This was my third visit to Temple Street Social - the first two times were good but this time it was terrible. I had booked a few weeks ago for an afternoon tea and was given a time. We turned up on time and it didnt even look like they were expecting us - they told us to "go and sit over there" and they gave us a glass of prosecco which was part of the deal. Not sure why I had to give a time considering nothing was set up and we were lucky that there was one table free. We then had to wait for 40 minutes before we got our afternoon tea - a couple who came in AFTER us were served their afternoon tea whilst we sat there waiting. My partner went up to ask what was going on and they said it would be a few minutes - well it was another 20 minutes before we got anything. Yes they were apologetic and offered us another glass of prosecco but it was food that we were after not drink! The food was nothing to write home about - sandwiches average, scones were small, hardly any cream, strawberry jam and 2 cupcakes. So all in all a disappointing experience.

Stumbled across this by accident the first time, & really liked the atmosphere, very non-scene. Also liked the £10 bottle of wine (pre-7.30pm)! Decided to go back to try the food. Firstly the staff were not so friendly this time, then we were told that the special offer wines had changed, although all the menus were still showing the original ones. Had to wait 45 minutes for food, although only one other person was eating! The pulled pork burger was good, but the chips tasted old and just not very nice. The coriander & horseradish burger tasted of neither - we did tell the waitress, who just said 'it's all mixed in with the beef'. It just tasted like a normal burger; OK but nothing special. Also the side order of coleslaw did not appear & we had to ask the waitress, who did apologise, but evidently there were no carrots/cabbage/mayo in the kitchen to make some with (at only 6pm). The price was excellent though; £14 for 2 burgers with chips. For a cheap, early evening visit the place is not bad, but it wouldn't take much to improve it.

I booked the side room for a friend's surprise baby shower. The owners and staff were so helpful and friendly, the afternoon tea was lovely and amazing value and generally there was a lovely atmosphere. A great place for a gathering and nice to see a bar in Birmingham that is a bit different.

been here many times and the food, atmosphere and value very good. Cannot undrestand why they have mini tables the size of a place mat !!!, its almost impossible to get a few drinks on never mind a meal even though lots of space so why not use it . Whatever genius designer came up with the idea pleeeese rethink TSS its a real pain. Other than that the food is a little slow coming but always really well prepared, fresh and tasty, the tapas plates and wine offer is terrific. Great music and atmosphere, excellent for sports fans too - whats not to like. Will keep going just hope someone sees sense and gets some proper tables in.

I'm lucky enough to live in Birmingham and eat at the many great places to eat and Temple Street is right up there. The two recent 1 star reviews are obviously from the same party, and i never understand why people do that?! Anyway... The place is very quirky, with music, decent food and a good atmosphere. We always nip in after work and grab the 3 tapas and a bottle of wine for £20. I've actually had the mint lamb burger and with sweet chilli and it's amazing. Another reviewer claimed it was tasteless, but if i was them i'd maybe go the doctors because it's full of flavour. It's is a little noisey at times, but it's also a nice little hang out after work and for a small place it seems to always be busy. I felt the need to write a review and stick up for this place. The food is good, the drink is well priced and if you want a bit of atmosphere then give it a try. Ignore the picky people and give this place a try

Having pre-ordered meals for a number of colleagues we arrived at this restaurant full of hope of not having a long wait for what looked like a delicious menu. How wrong can you be? We were waiting for pre-ordered food for over 45 minutes which, when it arrived, was cold and tasteless. Having ordered the lamb, mint and chilli burger I was bitterly disappointed to find no taste of mint or chilli in it whatsoever. The staff were fairly unapologetic even when they were told the orders were wrong or still outstanding after 50 minutes when others in the party had already finished their meals. I will make a point of never visiting this establishment again and would urge others to do the same. I am only sorry it is not possible to zero rate it.

I called in and asked if TSS could cope with a large (10 ish) group of co-workers, 3 of which have special dietary requirements. I was told that this was no problem.I pre-ordered our food and made it very clear who was having what, and what the dietary requirements were.On arriving, we had to wait 50 minutes despite pre-ordering. The food that did arrive was then cold. The food came out one (cold) dish at a time, so the first to eat had long finished by the time the last plate (after several reminders) finally arrived. More worryingly, the staff had no understanding of the allergy issues, and tried to feed me (a coeliac) pitta bread, despite being told in advance that I can't eat bread, and despite them having actually recommended this particular dish as suitable for my needs. Worse still, when the dish was sent back, it was brought back a second time with some, but not all, of the offending bread removed, with some still stuck to the hummus. Generally, the quality of the food was poor, and everything was under-flavoured.Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Visited this place with my girlfriend on a Monday afternoon for a quick snack. We sat down and decided to both have fish finger sandwiches. When we went to order, we were told we had to wait half an hour before we could even order due to a private party that was arriving shortly. The area that was blocked off for the private party must of been big enough to hold 10 people max! We were the only other customers in there. Instead of waiting around we decided to leave. Will not be returning. The place also had a strong/overpowering bleach smell to it.

This bar looks nice from the outside, so we sat in the window seats, these were the best in the bar, the decor inside is a bit cheap looking. Initially was nice to sit and chat, but next to us was a football games table ??? where a large group (who were very drunk) came in and played, so we had to leave as we could not hear a thing. Not one of the better city venues.

Noisy, noisy bar badly run with bad service. Had a bottle of wine here while waiting for San carlo opposite. Service very bad and surly but obviously survives by being an "in" place. Loud music plus TV plus hard surfaces all contribute to a most unpleasant noisy experience.

Went here for Sunday lunch last week. The place is modern with a welcome twist of quaintness. They offer a very reasonably priced afternoon tea with all the works, which will no doubt tempt me back at some point. Had a beef dinner while the Mrs had a mushroom pie. And apple pie with sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Good honest food - "simple food, done well" - hit the spot. Washed it down with a glass of red and a pint of Amstel. Excellent price. Cracking music on, ranging from Neil Young, Stones, Beatles, to Winehouse, Frank Turner, Alt-J etc. Formula 1 on a big screen, Sky News on another. Great stuff. Walked past here on a Friday evening, and it's rammed with suits, so if you want their food, Sunday looks your best bet. Will be returning.

This Restaurant/ Bar is situated right in the centre and the overall experience was Good but the Furniture was uncomfortable for longer periods sitting there but it has a prime location so always busy. The Bar was small but service was quick, The food which was not sampled seemed very simple and uncomplicated but the menus did not seem very inviting or interesting. The Restaurant part which was used for the over flow of Drinkers only was not used by any Customers so purely moreso a Drinking venue. The Bar/ Lounge part was warm and inviting but the music was played rather loud at 1600 in the afternoon.

On impulse we stopped here for a drink (which happened to be 'Happy Hour') after a full days shopping expedition and what a little gem it is!! The staff were extremely friendly, the place was very clean including the toilets which even provided hand lotion. The atmosphere was lively and the clientelle were a mixed group without the posey, snobby, stuck up attitude often found in other establishments in Birmingham. The music was a great mix of well known tunes and loud enough to be heard but without having to shout. After a bottle of wine we decided it was time to eat and chose to stay as we were really enjoying a well earned rest on the comfy armchairs. We didn't want a large meal so we went for the special of 3 starters for £12 and had one of these each. The six starters were excellent and we both felt very satisfied with the quality of the food. All in all a great place to visit.

Started with a few drinks (they have rekorderlig strawberry and lime cider on tap) and got hungry and the menu looked good so we decided to eat here.We had beer battered cod with hand cut chunky chips, minted peas and tartare sauce £8.95, pad thai prawns £8.95 and social supreme roasted chicken topped with bacon and cheese, served with mustard mash and garden vegetables with a side of cream and white wine sauce £9.50.The cod and chips seemed small when first bought out but it was just the right amount of food for me. The batter on the cod was freshly cooked and crispy. I thought the fish was a bit dry and definitely wasnt fresh fish. My friend said he doesnt like peas but the peas that came with the fish were nice. The person who had the social supreme chicken said it was really tasty and a good portion. The chicken was good and tender. He liked the mustard mash but it was a bit dry and the asparagus was overcooked. The place was busy when we first got there at about 5.20pm and there was no where to sit but it seemed to empty out a bit about 7.15 so we could get a table and get some food.

I would highly recommend the newly established Temple Street Social, it's really relaxed, cool and welcoming no matter what time if day or night it is... Ran by pro's the service is smooth from both the bar staff & food turnaround / quality. The Wednesday night quiz is a great addition to the bar... The quizmaster is hilarious, always uses original & current rounds & material to keep all participants occupied!! I would highly recommend popping in for a quick half, a full on 3 course dinner, a crazy night out in Birmingham, a Sunday roast, the Quiz or even just to use the posh clean loo's!!! A beaut addition to Brum!!!

We were the first people to sample the christmas menu last night for our works do and every single person loved it!I often find that places that normally serve amazing food really let themselves down when cooking for bigger numbers for christmas parties, I am please to say this is not the case with Temple Street Social.I had the Chicken Liver Parfait served with plum chutney & rustic bread followed by Turkey Paupiette turkey escalope rolled with a cranberry, sage & onion stuffing, wrapped in bacon and Koko Kanu Cheesecake served with lime zest crème fraiche. All the food was served promptly and my main was piping hot. The food was fresh and the turkey was really succulent. I had a little taste of the chestnut soup and brie fondue and both were really tasty. Some of my colleagues had the steak and the salmon and all were very happy.A really nice twist on traditional christmas menu options. It was only £19.95 per head for 3 courses too so excellent value for money. What was really nice as well was that they started the christmas menu 2 days early for us because of our crazy working hours in December (retail!) that was the only time we could go.I'm already a fan of this bar, it's very clean and tastefully decorated with hints at a retro vibe but not at all in a cheesy way. everything looks very classy. The bar staff are friendly and quick to serve and the music is amazing! Northern soul, 60s, funk, indie... I've heard nothing but great music every time I've been in. They do cocktails, have a good selection of wine and beer and high-end pub food which is the same quality that you might get in a nice restaurant. So far apart from the christmas menu I've tried the roast dinners which are hands down the best in the centre of town. They have a restaurant section which can be separated off from the bar as well.I loved it so much I've booked another christmas meal with all my female friends in December for a nice girlie get together!

Temple Street Social is not really as the name suggests, it’s a nice classy bar in the middle of Birmingham City Centre and from what I’ve seen so far in passing, it’s often as busy and bustling as it should be. I’ve been in a couple of times and on each occasion found the staff very friendly and approachable. Wednesday night, I believe, is still quiz night at TSS. I’ve attempted the quiz only once – and came LAST – but have been inside during others and I have noticed that the questions are GOOD questions, not like some other bar quizzes that I’ve been subjected to! It’s worth mentioning also that this bar is home to some pretty good DJs and so I often find myself singing along to a bit of soul or motown! As a vegan, I can only eat the chips here but they are very good and the chef very friendly. From what I am told by my meat-eating friends, the burgers are particularly good and worth a try. In terms of seating, you get a choice of table and chairs, sofas and booths, so there’s plenty of space if you’re in a group. There is also an additional dining area. I am quite a fan of TSS and will be frequenting it over the xmas period, I’m sure! Also - check out their spirits, they have some good ones!

My partner and I plus two friends visited this restaurant last Sunday (25/11/12). Having read the previous review, I am shocked as we had a completely opposite experience. We found the service to be polite and attentive. The roast was brilliant. We frequently eat out for Sunday dinner, and this was definitely one of the best we've had. Especially the Yorkshire puddings which are a particular favourite part of the meal for me.The place itself is beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere was lovely - they had acoustic singer/songwriters playing in the window.Value for money was superb too! £10 for roast and desert. We will certainly be visiting this establishment again. Some of my work colleagues tell me it is a great place to go for after work drinks, and I noticed they do some great deals early evening with wine and cocktails. My one minor complaint is we had to wait a little while for the food, but the place was busy so its understandable. Its great to see independent businesses thriving in an era of corporate monopolization.Looking forward to returning soon...

I have been a regular customer for a long time, years actually, and I usually have the same thing, small kebab meat and chips with salad. After today's visit I won't be back. There was a fresh kebab meat cooking, but they chose to scrape out the last sessions scrapings of overcooked and burnt meat from a can at the back, which should have been binned. I vote with my feet. I did eat the chips and not very fresh salad but binned the meat. Worst £4.80 I have ever spent.
