A delight ; all tea rooms should emulate this establishment ; the tea pot and its contents "was perfect" , not a tea bag insight ; our cheese scones ( and we've had many ) was Delicious ; Ashburton should be proud to have them , and I suspect they are ..

We booked 2 days in advance for an afternoon tea. at 1 pm. Food arrived at 1.25 pm. Very poor choices 2 luke warm sausage rolls ,a small quice ,a selection of very poor store bought cakes and 2 scones that tasted like they were baked the day before.

We went to this lovely tearoom for the first time today. We were met and welcomed by an absolutely charming lady who discribed cakes and other options. We only went in today for some tea and cake, but will definitely go for lunch next time. The cake and tea were brought to the table with impeccable manners and charm. The tea was authentic (leaf, not bags) and the cake was beautifully moist and not too sweet. We will definitely be back!

Popped in for lunch while exploring Ashburton. Nice traditional (but not twee) interior with lovely tables and china. The table service was excellent from a very frendly and helpful waitress. The menu for lunch is limited to sandwiches but they are very generous sized and tasty, made with good quality bread. Home-made cake selection is amazing - this is the place for afternoon team with cake! All in all a very enjoyable experience, we'll be back!

A lovely welcome, absolutely fabulous cakes in the window. We wanted cake, oh but the choice and something savoury. My husband had a cheese scone with cream cheese and chutney, I opted for toast. A good range of sandwiches were available and there was a soup of the day. The scone was apparently one of the best, if not the best scone he’d ever eaten and trust me when we say that might be a few. Our cakes were delicious, the teabread served warm with butter was a combination of a perfect chewy outside and a stuffed bread on the inside. My husband had Elderflower and Lemon cake and it didn’t disappoint, he was also rather chuffed with the generous potion size. One of our best tea stops ever, if only we lived closer!

The staff; quite charming with smooth efficient service The menu; I liked it, limited choice, some would say, but what we had was very good. Sandwiches, cakes, scones etc. The room/s; cosy with a number of painting and, I would say, a genteel atmosphere. Table ware; very tasteful. Highly recommend if you are visiting Ashburton and would like a light lunch

Absolutely loved this place, it had such a lovely warm and cosy atmosphere. Really traditional and excellent quality in presentation and choice. It was as you would wish all tea rooms to be. Well done.

24 hours on and Mum is still confident in her assertion that ‘yesterday’s cheese scone was the very best I’ve ever had’. Not bad testament for the quality of Taylor’s Tea Room than the words from an Octogenarian heading for her next decade ! The experience of this listing is ‘lovely’ in the very best definition of this word. Quintessentially English, everything here is quality - from the service through to the food and dining environment. There’s an effortlessness about it all, a serenity ! But there’s a buzz too emanating from everyone enthusiastically appreciating what’s presented to them. The home made soups are terrific - taste & consistency par excellence. And the cream tea ? The best ! Congratulations all round to the 2 ‘owning’ Sisters and their band a fantastic co-creators !

Called in for a spot of tea and cake. Good selection of both, served by a very friendly young man. An unexpected highlight of a day out in Dartmoor. I was especially pleased to see they use ethical toilet paper too!

Fantastic service very friendly and helpful. We had the cream tea & omg melted in the mouth lashings of jam and clotted cream. They had an excellent selection of mouth watering cakes and a good choice of drinks. Will definitely be going back again. Thanks guys for giving us the perfect ending to our trip out.

A lovely pub with friendly staff and good food, served swiftly and efficiently. We had been on a long uphill walk to get there, and were very glad to be able to sit at a window table and look at the wonderful view. Will definitely return when we are in the area again. There was a huge log fire in the other room which would be great to sit near on a cold winter day.
