Taylors in Woking

Visited for the first time in a while. Ordered 3 hot chocolates and all were dreadful. No option of toppings or extra cream. Additionally, had the waffle biscuit from the counter, tasted like plastic. When the cups were bought to the table, waitress had a large hair band on her wrist, not very hygienic. Finally, this listing says closing at six, got asked to leave at 4.50. As we live local, we will not be returning or recommending this establishment to anyone.

Visited for the first time in a while. Was shocked how filthy it was. Under the sofa was thick with dirt and the toilet was long overdue a clean, it just felt really grimy. One of the guys there was sitting on the worktop on his phone, not ideal for an area where food is prepared. Was once a regular but not sure I’d return again. Such a shame.

I live around the corner from Taylors and often treat myself to a take away coffee to have at home. The staff are lovely, really chatty and always give me a warm welcome. The coffee is fantastic, the beans are from a rosters in Woking, you can taste the freshness and quality. Highly recommend.

Staff are incredibly friendly and serve some of the best, reasonably priced coffee in Surrey. The coffee house itself is well - styled and the brownies and other treats are also amazing!

Friendly enough. I asked for semi skimmed milk in my flat white but was told they only had whole milk as no skimmed had been delivered. So the coffee was quite milky and not what I would normally expect for a flat white. However nice enough on a cool day.

Best local coffee, always get a flat white with chocolate on top which I know is wrong but so good. Always very friendly, reasonably priced and a cosy coffee shop.

An outstanding Cofffe shop with an extensive range of magazines and Art on the walls, one can leave flyers in the front window, which is excellent as it gets an eclectic mix of visitors.

Beautiful house blend delivered at the perfect temperature (that a lot of old school Brit’s don’t understand isn’t meant to be boiling like chain coffees) so anyone complaining about temperatures can safely be ignored. Cortado super smooth, so took away a Flat White too. It’d be a crime to have the coffee too hot to not taste how good it is. Even an ordinary barista could make really good coffee in a place like this. The girls working there were friendly and the decor and chairs comfy as heck, small food offering clearly due to the size of the place behind small but what they do, they do very well.

Stopped off here for coffee on my circular dog walk. Partly posting as there is no mention of dogs in reviews. Dogs not allowed in cafe, fair enough, so I sat outside and a very kind customer offered to look after my dog while I used the facilities. I’ve been here a few times now and staff are efficient but not particularly friendly. My latte was luke warm but I couldn’t go in to let them know as I had my dog and just too difficult with queue.

Had half an hour to burn in West Byfleet and found Taylors next to the Railway Station. Coffee is really good, with a wonderful caramel type taste to it, different from many other bland blends. Service with a smile (Easy I know, but all too often missing) and clean facilities t'boot. Independent to add to the reasons for making this a choice venue

Lovely place lovely cup of coffee! It's the best place to go and relax read you book. Customer service was excellent the girls are lovely and smiley! Definitely recommend 😊

Love the girls in here, they are friendly & down to earth. Food is simple & yummy. Coffee is always good & there are plenty of dairy free options.

Called in on Sunday. No welcome, no service - cleared the table ourselves without thanks. Why bother using an independent when the two people serving only want to talk to themselves and offer nothing in the way of a personalised service. Poor.

They buy locally brewed coffee beans. They are marvellous. Staff lovely. Taking care of the process. That’s all!

I’ve popped in a few times on my own as I’m new to the area. It’s a nice, relaxing coffee shop where being alone doesn’t feel out of place.

Taylor's is a stylish and cosy café in West Byfleet. The coffee is delicious and much better than anywhere else locally. Food is more limited but the brownies and blondies are delicious.

Perhaps it's getting near the gloomiest day of the year the 10th January. I had wanted to try this place since I saw it in the summer. Two of us went in. At the counter a lady was not very welcoming but I ploughed on and Sao we want a soft drink and got it from the self serve fridge. No hello or welcome. I ordered a coffee and chose a cake. I asked for a tray a cold stare. You can carry that I was told. I then said oh do you bring the coffee over trying to be helpful and polite.

Taylors! I wish it was a national chain! The richest smoothest coffee and every kind of format. Try their “Bullet” double espresso, 15gbutter 15g coconut oil blended and POW! 90 mins of flying time- a real kick to the metabolism.

Small but cosy and with interesting furniture. I love this place when I visit my friends in West Byfleet. We stopped for coffee and couldn’t resist the salted caramel slice (totally delicious - I need that recipe!)......happy days!

A very warming and comfortable environment with lovely staff, perfect for a meet up with friends or just a solo trip. The coffees are great and they offer a wide selection of other hot and cold drinks; whilst the food selection is limited, it is all so fresh and delicious. If you're looking for somewhere a bit more special than your average coffee shop, I highly recommend!

Great and slightly alternative coffee shop. Friendly staff and lovely coffee. Not the range of foods / snacks as some of the other cafes but it's fun !!

Small but cosy. Friendly staff. Good for popping into for a quick porridge or pastry brekkie or mid morning/ afternoon cake. Coffee here is very good- especially if you prefer a less sweet offering than (Costa next door) The hot chocolate is thick and seems to be made from a molten, slightly bitter chocolate which is not as sickly as some and definitely good quality and real chocolate rather than chocolate 'flavour '. You get what you pay for here.

Fairtrade delicious coffee however you take it. Nice sereen surroundings inside to relax in with their newspapers amongst a small eclectic collection of seating and tables. Homemade cakes, pastries and some soft drinks available. Vine undercroft seating outside too to people watch.

Great Coffee and atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and offer a great range of cakes and fresh bagels.

Fantastic coffee. Really lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated establishment. The service has also been nothing but friendly and warm every time I have been, too. I find it a travesty that people even bother going to the Costa a few doors down rather than here!

I love this coffee- strong and flavoursome. The staff are lovely, and it's got great little spaces whether you are a larger group on 4-6 or on your own.Good cakes / buns.

I popped in here for a coffee early this morning. Sitting having a coffee 5 extremely rude young men promptly placed themselves down at my table. Never asked if they could sit down, I think they thought I would move! Then to top it all a dirty napkin was thrown across my table and landed in my lap. Such a shame as the young girl on the counter was delightful. I will not be visiting here again can't take the risk of these rude people being there again

Walked with the parents to West Byfleet on the 27th and we stopped in for a drink. Mum enjoyed her hot chocolate and the two Americanos were good and strong. The decor is unusual, not quirky or quaint its just a mismatch of seating that suggests more office waiting room than independent coffe house but then you dont go Taylors for the chairs.

Quiet, friendly and comfortable cafe. Terrific for a relaxing coffee and snack or a quiet meet up with a friend or colleague.

Friendly team and atmosphere, very relaxed and welcoming and the wifi is free. You will always be welcome at the independent coffee house to work, rest or meet friends. A fantastic alternative to the big chains.

I don't go here anymore, I gave them a chance but things didn't get any better. Coffee usually lukewarm at best and over priced.Bellamico next door is a much better service altogether although the husband of Nella (part owner) is normally very surly and quite rude. Luckily Nella makes up for him.

Taylor's has become an office away from home ( I work from home). You are always welcome, great food and coffee, good wi-fi and cozy. The service is friendly and this is what a coffee house is meant to be! Spend hours there working and it is a place where friends meet and that sets the tone.

We moved to West Byfleet just over a year ago. We stumbled across this place early days. Now on my days off, Taylor's is certainly factored in for a coffee fix.They do a good selection of sweet slices and have a range of toasted bagels if you need something savoury. The decor inside is stylish and comfortable. Plus on a nice day the seating out front is a great addition.The manager is super friendly and always seems to have time to have a quick chat before tending to other customers.

Simple offering - coffee, homemade cakes and sandwiches. Comfortable ambience, newspapers for customers to read, charming staff.... But most important, delicious coffee. The Costa chain just up the street doesn't come close to being in the same league.

I've been here pretty much every week since it opened. It has consistently delivered fabulous coffee and sandwiches at reasonable prices. The decor is contemporary with enough space for private conversations, buggies, laptops etc. The most exceptional thing is the service. Always a smile at all times of the day.

Lovely independent coffee shop with very nice staff and beautiful decor. Idea for a quite coffee on a busy day. I'm a fuss pot when it comes to a well made flat white but I couldn't fault it in any way with a nice piece of home made lemon drizzle on the side, lovely :)

Taylors is definitely all about the coffee and with good reason. I find a lot of places over heat the coffee which destroys the flavour and you end up with something akin to boiled milk. Here it is just right. A pleasant outside seating area just the otherside of the station makes it a great place to have a caffeine fix before going off on your travels.

Taylors does genuinely good coffee (a rarity in the UK), in a small but interesting little cafe with mismatched funky armchairs, book shelves and newspapers. It's lovely for a solo chill out. There's a small selection of savoury sandwiches and sweet cakes and brownies, but it's really all about the coffee.

I like Taylor's as its a nice change from the overcrowded and noisy Costa around the corner. Coffee is good and place is small and intimate and with a nice ambiance. But I find it quite expensive with not many nibbles/cakes/cookies for sale. Sandwiches look good but cost over four pounds at best.Staff is nice and accommodating.

Pleasantly surprised by the delicious mocha coffee. Full flavour, made with care and delicious. Makes a change from the standard chain coffee. Recommended.

Small intimate coffee shop, very friendly staff, excellent fresh sandwiches, delicious cakes and proper coffees. Great seating, armchair and other seating to peruse the papers provided.

I have visited many coffee shops in the area searching for a barista who knows what they are doing and cares about coffee. I am also quite fussy about my coffee, so I was very pleased to have found Taylors as not only is the coffee superb the staff are excellent. I have never had a bad coffee with them. The seating is interesting and comfortable, the perfect place to enjoy a great coffee and relax whilst reading a national geographic.

I have been to Taylors several times, on this occasion the coffee was quite poor. It was very busy and the staff were rushed. I had to send my coffee back as it was luke warm.

Have been here a couple of times, sorry to say that the coffee is not great and often cold or at best luke warm. I have to say that I prefer the Bell'amico next door where the coffee is a lot nicer and a bit cheaper. Wont be going back anytime soon.

They have nice place in West Byfleet and a nice stand at Woking Market in Woking, Surrey. In both places they offer really good coffee from roasters in Woking and good cakes, etc. If I have a coffee shop I want to have people like those working for Taylor's. Good luck!

Taylors is a cafe in the heart of West Byfleet, 30 seconds walk to the main train line. The atmosphere is really good, the decor is unique and the staff are very friendly. They have delicious and exotic cakes and tasty sandwiches. However the coffee is definitely the best feature. I highly recommend this place! You will not regret!!!

Lovely venue with great service. Lots to chose from coffee and tea wise. Always friendly . Love the fact there are different types of seat from upright to more reclined.

I am so happy that this coffee shop is in West Byfleet, I love going in there at the weekends and the coffee is so tasty.

Lovely coffee and delicious shortbread! The orange blondie was the best! I'm hoping that they're all homemade, but I forgot to ask. Service was good especially from the chatty waitress. Prices very reasonable.

I have walked past this cafe numerous times and I am so glad I finally ventured in. The atmosphere is cosy with soft chairs and mood lighting. I ordered a hot chocolate to take away which was heavenly. I'm gluten intolerant, so it was wonderful to see those options available. I intend to return soon and properly enjoy the seating areas; I was informed that they intend on branching out into lunch options with one of the other places owned in Woking.

If all cafes/restaurants were as good as Taylors our High Streets would be great places to be! delicious coffee and food in a stylish relaxed environment.

I cannot recommend Taylors enough. Working in the coffee industry, it makes a wonderful change having an excellent independent local coffee shop where coffee is actually at the heart of everything they do. The staff seem to have a real passion for coffee and customer service, making it a welcoming experience every time. We need more Taylors around Surrey!

Forget Starbucks and Costa if you love your coffee then try a "real" coffee house. Well put together, comfortable, eclectic and very much in the Australian cafe mould. Thank God.

50s/60s s/steel & leather chairs, with Anglepoise lamps !!! Very stylish !!! The cakes are out-of-the-ordinary too - last time, they had Lavender Shortbread & you could taste the Lavender !!!

I love this place for a quiet relaxed coffee. The service is friendly, the coffee is really nice and the cakes are really delicious especially the carrot cake. I go to costa when I have the kids as I don't want to ruin everyone else's peaceful spot. But if I'm on my own I prefer Taylors. My husband has had the sandwiches and he says they are really nice too. So a great place to visit and they do takeout coffee too.

There's coffee and there's coffee..... This lovely little place prides itself on quality produce and backed up by a very good service. I would highly recommend that you knock costa off your radar and head straight for Taylor's instead. Lovely! thank you!

I was walking through West Byfleet last week and was desperate for a decent cup of coffee (the night before was rather eventful). As someone who avoids coffee chains like the plague, I was extremely pleased to stumble upon Taylors. Not only was the ambience welcoming and relaxing but the coffee was Delicious!! It goes without saying that I will be swinging by this delightful find again.

Tried the Taylor's coffee for the first time and had a good experience. Service was attentive. To be honest Taylors coffee is better than Costa.Would love to visit here again.

This is, by far and away, the friendliest coffee shop in the area. The atmosphere is warming and unique in its décor (I do not think there are two chairs the same in the whole shop!). The way it is set out makes it feels like you are sitting in someone else's lounge. The coffee itself is locally roasted and always of high quality and the range of cakes is spot on. We are regulars in here and will continue to be so. There are other local coffee shops but this is so much better than the others. The only problem is that it tends to get busy (probably because they do the best coffee around!).

We don't live in West Byfleet but have stopped here several times when out cycling on the nearby canal paths. It is well situated and has some outside seating. The coffee is very good. I drink cappuccino and my husband black americano. They run a loyalty card scheme which we have now joined as we know we will be back soon!

this coffee shop has put Costa to shame......... And also taken a lot of there custom ! delightful atmosphere and lovely hot drinks , made to your taste. very classy surroundings, and deserve to do well. Lots of yummy mummy's seem to go ! nice touch too have newspapers and no music !

Agree with others: do give this place a go. Was heading to Ripley but gave up due to road works: found this by chance. Great coffee and cakes; chilled ambience.

At last, have found somewhere that serves high quality organic coffee in the area. Not only is the coffee good but the place has an awesome interior and serves great sandwiches and cakes. Staff are friendly and make the drinks exactly how you like them. Easily best coffe house in Surrey!!

I love this place. There are too few coffee shops that get it all right: great decor, friendly service, good coffee and quality cakes and food. The man who owns the coffee shop has a great eye for design and has produced an incredibly classy and enjoyable environment. Open up a few more I say!Lizzie.

If you want excellent coffee (makes Costa very ordinary ) a really cool environment and a personal friendly service, this is the coffee shop for you. The fresh selection of food is very inviting, all at a reasonable price.

Absolute gem of a coffee shop. Just as appropriate to get a takeaway or drink in, really friendly staff and blooming good coffee. I usually drink black coffee but the cappucinos here are perfect! as other reviews have said its also a great place to sit and relax.

I popped in yesterday and was wonderfully surprised. This is a smart and relaxing coffee house which shows the failings of the costa (which I agree with another reviewer feels like an airport) and Italian coffee shop next door (which is too bright). It is a real haven, the decor is trendy and the ambiance is just right. The coffee was beautifully made and the baked goods looked tasty, though I didn't have one. We spoke with the owner who was friendly and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend.

Finally a coffee shop that knows good coffee beans!! I'm originally from Australia and its so hard to find a great coffee here in the UK. I will be going back!! We had a cookie too, you can tell they were fresh and the taste was delish.

A very stylish coffee shop that serves great coffee and delicious food at very reasonable prices. Lovely ambience and brings a touch of class to West Byfleet. If you want to have coffee in what looks like a a scruffy airport terminal, then go to Costa. If you want to be treated like a valued customer and get great coffee in a classy environment, then go to Taylors!

So pleased that this has opened in West Byfleet and I hope people support this independent chain. The coffee is fantastic and the home made cakes are good value - big portions and tasty. You can sit and chill out with a coffee and read the papers. Well done!

Popped in for the first time today after a recommendation from a friend. Great first impression - love the colour scheme and simple vintage (but not clichéd) styling (I could happily live in it!). Very friendly owner/staff, great latte and good value for money. Didn't eat anything but may try some food next time as I'll definitely be going again. I hope it's a success.

Have discovered this gem of a place in West Byfleet. Taylors has only recently opened & its just what the discerning coffee lover has been waiting for. An independent coffee house that concentrates on the quality of the coffee & pastries, being organic & locally produced. Blueberry muffins a must ! Its quirky decor is comfortable & inviting and the staff welcoming & friendly. I'd recommend you call in for a take away on the way to work or just stop in for a leisurely coffee. I'm glad I did!
