Tatsu in North Ayrshire

Myself and my wife popped in for lunch, this is certainly one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. The food was amazing, staff were pleasant and courteous. We had starters of Prawn Cocktail, Barbecue Ribs, Mains of Chicken Satay , Chicken Curry and to finish Banana Fritters , all were cooked to perfection, we will certainly be back.

Really good, authentic Chinese, Thai, and Malaysian cusine. There are really big portion sizes, too. The food was fresh and packed with flavour. The staff were very friendly and the cocktails were on point too

Brilliant place for food. The food is amazing, the staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Nothing is any bother. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed every minute there with my husband but as we called for the check, the bar man came to empty our table and took my drink away with him without looking when I hadn't finished it.

Food I ordered was very expensive!!!! It was disgusting not even fit for animals, close your doors and let someone else with better chefs and prices have a go!!!!!!

Was here yesterday for 1pm lunch booking arrived at 12.50pm but door was locked didn't open door until 1pm there was a large queue and everyone was frozen all my party had to sit with our jackets on to heat up! Eventually felt warm after we had our soup can't fault the meal it was amazing but do think the door should be open to let people in before there official booking time

Had a fantastic dinner last night for my dad's birthday. Was my first time eating here and won't be the last. The food and staff were brilliant and we all had a great time. Highly recommend.

Visited yesterday for lunch with friends. Pleasant welcoming staff and great service. All our meals were hot and tasty. Clean plates all round.. See you again soon.

The staff is always welcoming, helpful and friendly. The food is always consistent and tastes great. The wait isn't long for takeaway if ordered on the spot, can also order for pick up and delivery. The downside is parking if you go there in the evening.

Had good meals from here on a few occasions. Unfortunately takeaway today was so overly salted it could not be finished .

It was a busy weekend and I was up for a day trip to irvine with my partner. we got recommended to try this place out from the locals at the hotel and i'll definitely say it was up to the recommendation and my god the food and service was excellent. Too bad it's in Irvine and not in Edinburgh. Will definitely be back in if am in the area!!

I wouldn't recommend anyone to order, chips taste like they have been back heat, batter is very soggy on the chicken balls and chicken wings which both was meant to be salt and chillie, no taste at all, to expensive and you don't get the quality you expect for the amount they charge.

Can argue the best Chinese takeaway I had so far!! The flavors and portion size was great compared to all the other takeaways in the area that I had tried over the years. I would definitely be ordering again from this place and would recommend anyone who has yet tried it give it a go and you'll be surprised by the food quality they offer.

Great atmosphere!! The food was really high quality and the service we had while we were there was outstanding. Me and my family loved the time we had in the restaurant and would recommend to all our friends and family about this hidden gem in Irvine. Can't wait for our next visit to try out many more of the dishes they have to offer!!

Normally very good however raw chicken drumsticks which they call wings. This could have ruined my Christmas if eaten . Takeaway terror

First time dining in here & would definitely return. The satay was the best I've had in a long time & in contrast to a lot of other places, the main ingredient wasn't beansprouts but was packed full of fresh veg. The service was great too

Been here a few times for family meals ....most recent this weekend. The food is always great whether from the set menu (which is good value and choice too) or a la carte. Staff are so lovely and helpful. Will keep going back, still a few dishes to try out

Lovely restaurant with lovely food

Have eaten in here before and always enjoyed however ordering take away was a very different experience. Part of my order was a main course of chicken satay at cost of £8.20. This consisted of 4 tiny skewers (looked like starter size) Given that we had to pay an additional £2.50 for accompanying rice I find this portion size unacceptable for the cost. I called and messaged to complain but no response. Given the cost of living crisis currently ongoing it is shameful that customers are being over charged in this manner. Absolutely over priced take away menu!

This place is literally the best in Irvine! Consistently excellent food and the staff are amazing! If dining in it is superb for choice and service. I only ever order takeout from here now because it’s always delicious! Never once have I been let down!

Ordered satay delivered a curry. When I called up they said it was a curry I ordered. Funny I’ve never ordered a curry in ma life.

Really great Chinese food, easily the best I’ve had in north Ayrshire. Food was freshly prepared and fairly authentic. The starters all tasted freshly made definitely not from a freezer bag. Main courses were great, again freshly made and a big step up from what you usually get. Friendly service, attentive and warm. Definitely our new regular Chinese restaurant.

Outstanding quality every time! Takeaway just as good as eating in. The table service/etiquette is like eating at a 5 star restaurant. very lovely staff, clean toilets and the best bramble cocktail in Irvine!!! My go to for a good meal at a decent price :)

Not as good as it used to be. The menu to me is basic. Not a lot of choice if you don't like salt in chilli spice.

We found this place by accident and what a hidden gem.Excellent service and fantastic tasting food we've just found our new favourite restaurant.

It is our first visit to this restaurant. The staff was amazing, especially Jess and Kelvin, who made our date night extra special. The dishes were excellent, and the flavour suited our picky palate. We highly recommend their chicken satay!!! The best we ever tasted. We also like the cosy atmosphere with light music and low lights. The food presentation was marvellous, and the dinnerwares were stylish too. Especially those sizzling dishes which served on a unique hot metal-bowl ware on a wooden stand, which makes the dining experience so theatrical. We were impressed with the whole experience and certainly will revisit them again. We would also highly recommend you to come try the dine-in experience.

A nice meal. Kids meal was excellent, came in a nice box and for reasonable price. Ordered 2 sizzlers for mains, which doesn’t include rice or chips. The fillet steak sizzler in my opinion was not fillet steak, it was too thin to be that, so for over £18 to get something that wasn’t fillet steak and no sides, was a bit of a let down. The sauce was really nice though. The chicken and pepper sauce sizzler was nice! Went well with our extra order of chips and fried rice and curry. Would go again, but maybe order something different

Best chinese food I've ever had x

Batter not cooked, inside grey and slimey. Got replacement fried rice they couldn't get that right. Refused to refund. Staff rude. Won't be back.! Disgusted.!

Another great night with the family tonight, the food is just superb, the staff are outstanding in every way with a great relaxing atmosphere, the only disappointing thing is we can only visit once a month, roll on August for our next great experience, many thanks 🙏

Had a delivery. Chicken was tough in my chilli honey chicken. It lacked flavour also. Rice tasted chemically. Chicken wings obviously been reheated more than once. Salt and chilli squid was chewy with soggy batter. Only given it 2 stars as my daughter liked her prawn dim sum and her soup. Small potions of overpriced food that lacked any quality for it's cost. Save yourself the disappointment and order from somewhere else!

We were staying at a local hotel and fancied some Chinese food for dinner, this was the first one we came across and boy are we happy about that, we had an excellent value pre-theatre meal, the menu had things on it i’d not heard of in almost 50 years of eating Chinese food, the waitress was happy explaining what things were and one of us wanted to change a meal slightly and that was no problem, food, staff and surroundings were all fantastic, even though we don’t live in the area we will be back asap

Excellent for both dine in and collection. We use on a weekly basis and the food, efficency, and service are all absolutely first class. I am coeliac and need gluten free, and the options for me are great, and have never had a single issue. The people that work there are all lovely, best restraunt in the land!

Amazing for sit in hence 2nd star, food really fresh this way. Unfortunately 2 take aways and both times we never finished the meals they went in the bin, after 1st take away we gave it benefit of doubt as sit in is good but 2nd was as bad as 1st Delivery, £30 plus Delivery and no courtesy prawn crackers it's the small things that make a difference, won't be back and will be going back to Silver City it never fails.

Only gave 2 stars as the food has usually been good but last time not great and tonight it was awful, salt and chilli chicken balls! The chicken was so tough and overcooked and the chips are now awful skinny chips? C’mon tatsu what’s happening?

Walk in no problems getting us seated , service was very good .I ordered the squid for a starter and salt and chill crab for my main with a side of chips got to say it was very delicious and I eat all of it .My friend also enjoyed her food would recommend going here if you haven't already try the food before.I know I'll be back soon

The food here is great value for money, fresh, tasty and the service is good with servers going over the menu in detail.

Always had great meals from here but tonight it was a reheat or way overcooked and very dry ended up in the bin

Best Chinese in Ayrshire, hands down. I am a regular and can highly recommend the Satay sauce, pad Thai, green Thai curry, chicken curry, chicken with green pepper and black bean, salt and chilli chips, chicken balls, hot and sour soup, and Singapore noodles. Service is always friendly and prices are reasonable.

The best Ayrshire Chinese restaurant, staff are amazing and go out of their way to make the dining experience a memorable one. Had a great dine in and takeaway experience. Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Lovely lunch, good value, friendly staff

Very accommodating. I asked for Malay chicken to be prepared with char siu instead of the chicken and not a eyelid batted. Was also the best Malay sauce (loads of soy, hot chili, fresh ginger and garlic, sugar and a nice hint of honey etc) I've had in a while. Nice decor excellent staff, very professional. AND it's in Irvine.

I always have the pleasure of visiting my Family Travelling up from Newcastle to Fenwick On our last two visits we have also had the pleasure of visiting this fabulous restaurant for a Table for 4 It really worth 5 Stars for many reasons. 1. Ok,,, I don't leave reviews usually, but could not let this one go past, had a multi dish takeaway, and it was the worst Chinese food we have ever had🤢 noodles were like mush, any thing fried was dripping in fat and all looked and tasted the same, my guess is the sauces etc are pre cooked and heated in the microwave, rice horrible,noodles horrible, chicken balls horrible, chow mein horrible,lamb starter 🤮my advice to you is order a pizza

Atmosphere was really cosy and warm, the restaurant was surprisingly spacious on the inside. The staff were super polite and when I asked if they had dumplings with no meat, they offered to make some with vegetables instead which was fantastic! Portions were really good, good value for money and it was delicious. Would go back! :)

Without a doubt the best place to eat in Ayrshire. The food is amazing. The pork dumplings are the best I’ve ever tried. Absolutely fantastic staff who go out of the way to make your dining experience as good as it can be. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Ordered from this restaurant regularly when it was the New Royal Blossom then Royal Garden. Mainly takeaways but also sat in and got to know the lady Mae very well. Never had a bad meal whilst she was there however out the blue the meals changed so we started going elsewhere. I kept hearing it was under new management and the food was expensive but fantastic so we gave it a go. Now I have health issues with my stomach so I need a mild curry now which I always emphasise. We also ordered ribs and the order was £19.30. The ribs were over cooked brick hard and neither of us could eat them so they went in the bin. The curry was not mild so they hadn’t listened. The rest of the order was poor. The sizes are smaller than usual and the prices higher but had the food been good it wouldn’t have been a problem. There are far better Chinese restaurants in Irvine that charge less for better food. Tried to phone to complain twice but no answer despite it saying to contact them if you have a problem. Had to repeat the order several times when being placed so unsure if it’s a language barrier in terms of the mild curry but the ribs were dreadful. So disappointed as had heard good things. Won’t be back and would like a refund. Order was placed on Sunday evening 15th and the boy that delivered has been delivering for years since New Royal Blossom and can verify we are regulars or should say we were regulars. Don’t waste your money stick to the ones that have been around for years.

The meal was nice and the staff were very friendly and attentive, however the price was a bit excessive, £11.90 for your meal then £2.80 ontop for rice. Compared to other restaurants in the area it is quite a bit more expensive. People don't mind paying extra for a better meal ect, however we have had many other meals locally at almost half the price thT have been just as good, if their prices weren't as excessive I would definitely eat here more regularly.

Visited Saturday evening, 3 of us with no booking. Managed to get a table and right off, the staff and service were very good, absolutely no complaints. All ordered 2 courses from the pretheatre menu and portions were pretty big. My only criticism...and it's a big one, OMG the curry sauce was ridiculously salty. I'm not questioning the quality of the ingredients in any way, but the high level of salt in the curry sauce pretty much ruined the dish. I don't think I'll hurry back, its a shame because the staff were so nice.

This is the definition of amazing, the food was tremendous and wish I could go every day. The staff were extremely friendly and caring, before ordering they asked about allergies and made sure everyone was ok. I would definitely recommend to a friend. 👍😄

This was my first visit to the restaurant (my wife's 3rd) and loved every second, we were made to feel welcome from the minute we walked in the door to the minute we left. the food was great staff are friendly and always willing to go that extra mile to make our night. we were lucky enough to be regulars at there previous restaurant in Stirling before they moved to Irvine. will defo be back again soon. Stirling's loss of a great restaurant is Irvine's Gain. i would highly recommend to anyone to give them a try. you wont regret it.

Arrived at 1.40 pm and the staff were more than happy to serve us even though they closed at 2. Staff so friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious with great portions too. Wish them all the best, we will definitely be back ☺️

What a joke been using this Chinese for years but now under new management. Wow if you know how small the plastic tubs are try only getting them half full chicken and black pepper half full sweet and sour chicken half full. Chicken wings starter 4 chicken wings what a joke. Spent just shy of £50 to feed the family no way that could feed us all. Plenty of chips but thats not what you go to a Chinese for. Will not be back.

1st take away and won't b back, food tasted ok but for price your paying poor, quantity lacking, spring rolls were dire!

Ordered a home delivery tonight, everything was really good, but OMG the prawn dim sum was absolutely amazing...also delivered pretty fast given the dim sum takes a while to make. Will definitely order again and pay a visit to sit in. Really impressed and can't wait to try more of the menu..

lovely little restaurant, been here a few times now. had a takeaway recentley and cant complain, was exactly as i remembered. food was great and delivered in a decent time, only downside was my chips which were a little mushy, i prefer them a bit crispier but thats personal choice. all in all a good chinese worth a visit
