Tasty's Karahi Restaurant in Leeds

Baught a portion of seekh kebabs today it was so tasty..both kitchen n reception staff is clean and efficient.small orders are also welcomed.would highly recommend them.

I was recommended this place by someone online. I would say this place is an institution. doing desi way food in such a fresh and tasty way. The food blew me away for real. I got the samosa and kebab roll and chicken boti.

Forgot to take photos of food before, nice food, had the mixed meat and chicken rogan Josh with 2 chapatti and mango lassi, would defo recommend same thing but with naan instead of chapatti coz rotti probabaly nice and thick

Nothing special. Only kebab was tasty. Had channay and meat Balti. Not cooked properly. Not even average take away.

Still fantastic food but portion sizes are going down and prices shooting up I know all restraunts have increased prices but to cut down what you pay for is disappointing

Not a bad little curry house. Lamb on the bone with a garlic naan is highly recommended. Staff were really helpful and friendly.

No thrills restaurant with great food

I've been coming to Tastys for 25 years and it is still as good as ever. Crispy samosa, Lamb madras rich in flavour and perfect texture - but the highlight at Tastys are the freshly made chapattis which are fluffy and almost float on their own to your table. This is cafe curry at its best.

Said it before I'll say it again , best most authentic curry available in leeds. Pakora, chicken masala and keema naan would be my recommendation.

Google won't update but this place opens 12-10 Monday to Saturday. Family run place with traditional home style food, from Lamb Seekh Kebabs to Pakora, Curries like payah, maghaz, lamb on bone. Can't beat it... if you like your spice you'll love it here.

Just drove from pudsey to tastys for a takeaway because I have been told about it so many times I will have it for my tea and let you know, I couldn't resist it ive just tasted it and both dishes were exactly as I have been told about looks like my new takeaway from now on thank you tastys

Paid £43.80 for 3 mains, a mixed starter, 8 rotis and a garlic naan. Are you having a giggle? All dishes served on the bone and my son had some (medium rare)(I.e. pink chicken). The containers are the smaller no.2 foils and even after asking for desi style, no flavour whatsoever. I could have cooked better myself. I suffer from IBS and I am not lying, I was in the bathroom twice within 30 minutes of eating. Sorry guys but anywhere in Leeds sucks at curries. I'm going to stick with Bradford

What a RIP OFF restaurant. Charged double to what is stated on the menu. When asked, reply given "oh, the prices have gone up". The menu prices have not even been updated! AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!

I came a long way from home just to try this absolutely *beautiful* Indian cuisine of a restaurant! MashaAllah the staff are the most friendliest people you could ever be served too. They make sure if everything’s alright and even thought to ask about the spice rate of their food to appeal to me and to future customers (which is very rare). Inshaallah, I will make sure to come over again once more just to be enlightened by their delicious food. I would heavily recommend to come over just to get an insight of fine Indian cuisine!❤️😌

This place was recommended to me by several of my friends, because I was sick of takeaways that didn't or couldn't supply a quality keema curry,well I tried them first time other day, and very highly recommend them,it was buetiful, the staff were so polite and helpful, we ourselves feed and look after the homeless people in Leeds and curry always goes down well with them,but this was something else,,keep up your excellent work. Ordered 3 meals spent £31 on curry’s the curry had no taste but chilli. I phoned and complained they wasn’t willing to compensate for there bad tasted food just apologised. I would not recommend eating there or having delivery from this restaurant Standard below Zero.

Lamb karahi rating: 2/10 Chicken karahi: 0/10 (It should be negtive) Fish: 8/10 To be honest this restaurant don't know what an actual lamb karahi is especially chicken karahi was extremely poorly tasted. Every good desi food is available in Bradford unfortunately.

This place was great for many years but the food is not as good. You order a large container you get three chapattis or rice the same as when you order the smaller container it should be double chappies or rice. They charge what ever they want to. Meaning the prices are not always the same.

As a family we are fans. We are Indians Mostly Asians eat here. NO ONE can make KEBABS like then. Try them in naan bread but be warned. SPICY!!! When they get it right it’s excellent. Like any restaurant it can be better some weeks but mostly it is good. Even great. Yeah Great. Portion size can fluctuate! Lamb/ mutton can sometimes be tough! Different carcasses! Only criticism which they need to bear in mind is that its not very spicy. Good for blandies!! Also no Veggie Food. Fish Chicken is popular in our family. If you want spicy ask to have it hotter but here is the problem the chef will use a sprinkling of RAW red pepper POWDER! Ive lost count of the people who tell me that it gives them Stomach ache the next day. Don’t be put off. Tell them extra spicy and make it with fresh green chillis to add extra heat. They charge enough so ask. Im their greatest fan but go sit in the restaurant it is sooo much better Takeaways don’t taste the same! True

Have been using tastys for about 20 years will eat from anywhere else ,the people are lovely and the food is fantastic, as long as tastys is open will not go anywhere else .

Staff very friendly & attentive. I was thinking that I had found an authentic place & I was looking forward to some good food but in the end it was back street basic. Very similar to your usual kebab/burger takeaway that also 'specialise' in curries, but this place only does curries, so not good. The curries do look the part but the taste was not right with mine, something was a miss, it didn't seem fresh & the spices were simply thrown in rather than cooked off. Had stomach issues within hours & checked their Food Hygiene Rating which only has 3 Stars. The one thing that this place has helped me with is to make sure that I check the Food Hygiene Ratings & practices 'before' I eat at any establishment going forward. Anything less than a 4 Star will not get my cash!

Pro’s: Nice food, especially the seekh kebabs. A very traditional place. The curries also hit the spot. Great service from al of the staff aswell.. Con’s: The speciality dishes are approx. £10 each, but they are served in small containers. Considering that the specials are £3+ more expensive that the standard dishes, they should be served in larger containers. It really wouldn’t cost the restaurant much more (as £10 is probably the most expensive curry in the Harehills area), but make the customers much happier. Also I know its only a small thing but charging 25p extra to have your mint sauce separately, whereas its free to have it directly on your kebab. It makes all the difference as having it separately prevents it getting soggy The separate small tub should also be free

Always great food great hospitality and good price. Bathroom needs a bit of attention!:) Parking can be found at the front :)

Very tasty indeed. I love the special keema spicy asian korma here (not your usual mild creamy korma, see picture!) The chapaties are the best I've eaten anywhere, freshly cooked and perfect. The seekh kebabs for starters are great too. Very reasonably priced and the staff are helpful and friendly. It's a shame I dont get to visit more often these days. I would definitely recommend

Quick service, food is fresh and tastes amazing too. Got chicken on the bone and wasnt disappointed. Also the salad they gave was fresh not like other take outs giving you manky salad

First time ordering and very disappointed. I ordered food for takeout around 7pm that was supposed to take 30 mins but took 1 hour. I ordered a chicken masala spicy with 3 chapatis but got a tastless red curry swimming in oil. The chicken had no flavour. I had a portion of seekh kebabs as a side but I can't complain about them, not saying they were delicious but not terrible. The salad came in a small plastic bag. This restaurant was recommended by a work colleague but unfortunately in my opinion is not value for money.

Went to tastys for a selection of currys and starters . The currys were excellent proper authentic cooking not like the chains that I often use . Not that I am criticizing them it’s just a different way of cooking. The kebabs and samosas were also excellent. There is a constant flow of the local taxi drivers calling in , I guess it’s about as close to there home cooking as it gets . Excellent food will be making it one of my regular haunts when I need my curry fix.

Previous review “needs a few more reviews from Asians”? Just because someone is white doesn’t mean we don’t know what a good curry tastes like! My Indian friend took me to this place and we both swear by it all his Indian friends do as well and one of them is a very well known chef! Anyway I love this place very authentic curry’s at a reasonable price and the owner is very friendly, makes you feel welcome

Ordered my food 40 mins ago- when asked about where it is, They keep adding another 10 mins! Ended up cancelling my order! Please be honest about how long it will take to cook up a curry?! Ended up feeding my family toast and beans! Don't recommend you guys!

Curries are the best with massive portions

The best takeaway in Leeds I cannot find anything better call every time I I am anywhere near I bring lots of meals home for freezer just wish it was near to me.

I asked for Asian style chicken Baltic I was disappointed may be alright for non Asians very bland I asked to hav it spicy overrated needs a few more reviews from Asians don’t get your hopes high.

I really love their food it is absolutely fabulous, if you ever go there try their chicken tikka of the bone in naan. and their chicken masala curry. yummmmmm absolutely delicious I wish I had ate this food every day!!!!!!!

Literalmente no he comido curry en ningún otro lugar desde entonces. Consistentemente buena comida y una gran relación calidad-precio justo en el menú. Probably the longest standing business in Leeds. This place is the Godfather of all curries and Asian food. If your on your way to Bradford do a U-turn and head straight to Tasty's You will not be disappointed!

I wanted this to be the best meal ever, but I cannot day this. Slow service, mediocre popadoms and pickle tray. Average starters. But the wait between courses was ridiculous. What a shame, love it here.

10 out of 10 food. There is a very smiley lad called suty who always delivers within 10 minutes. Amazing how fast he is and a real gentleman.
