I stop here every weekend for a doner kebab!

really good place would definitely recommend amazing food but the waiting isn’t the greatest i had to wait nearly half an hour for food apart from that amazing !!

Rico and the Tasty Turk are part of Whitley Bay and a great little shop. Nothing flash on fittings but a great value and great tasting food outlet :-)

So my son was out in the whitley bay area last night and was waiting to get served his mediocre pizza from this bunch of chancers. We asked for him to pick up a tray of kebab meat, thinking we would get a half decent portion like you normally do from a kebab shop. The picture is what arrived home, and he was charged £5 for it. When you look at the photos, the menu on the board says a full kebab is less than that and you get a salad. Absolute joke of a place taking advantage of people like that.

One of Whitleys Bays hidden gems. This establishment has been a heavyweight in the kebab industry for as long as any local resident can remember. The food here is absolutely top notch and the boss invests in quality ingredients to ensure all customers are satisfied. The kebab wraps are one of the finest creations ever and you can tell the recipe has been passed down through generations that love and understand food. The service is always on point regardless of the time and the boss always has a gleaming smile on his face. Just can’t fault it. Superb

My wife had a burger from here last night and has been up being violently ill from it. The chef was seen handling raw chicken for a kebab before for two orders and commented on by another customer. I didn’t realise it would have contaminated my wife’s burger. She’s so ill. I am going to report this via the relevant channels.

Honestly, I'd rather go next door to Papillon. They serve almost identical food but are better value for money (cheaper). They're also more pleasant and do not take forever to make your food! Stop turning off your machines tasty, turning them back on to make food adds an extra 15 minutes!

This place has recently become a late night favourite of mine. The doner kebab is lovely 4 star just because portion size isn’t really the best

Best burgers going and the kebab meat is sliced then grilled on the chargrill again giving it much more flavour which adds to the burgers flavour mmmm eat there almost every weekend now

Been eating here for 20 years although the famous mario has now retired it’s still owned and run by Rico , amazing flavours family recipes u won’t get anywhere else and portions that are so worth the money

Technically I am to blame for the dire kebab I was faced with on Saturday night. I know all the kebab places in Whitley Bay and I know that they are pretty much all better than this place. But it was late, and all the other places were closed so I thought "ok I will give it another go here" - big mistake"! Why the hell I am voluntarily ordering from somewhere that was awful last time I was here? What kind of an idiot chooses to eat bad food twice on purpose? - Me apparently :-( Note to self 'make sure to polish off that last pint before Plaza Pizza or Turkish Delight close in future.'

Best and cheapest take away for kebab style food in Whitley bay, mario and the staff are all good guys. Been there 50 times never had a bad meal and I'm always really impressed, Plus out of all the kebab houses in Whitley bay the garlic sauce and kebab meat and salad here is amazing and the best on town by far!!!!! It can get busy in there friday and satutday late on, so I always give a tip, as there alot cheaper than all other kebab houses in town and they always look after me whenever I go. Plus they deserve it there service is A1 and they are always smiling, polite and talkative. They have been open for 30 years for a reason

Decided to go there after a few recommendations and considering it’s halal and Opened late. Pizza was delicious, the cheese and sauce was too perfect.

Absolutely disgusting I know Rico the owner but went to get food tonight got fobbed off said it would take an hour and a half to get my order because the Asian customers who were in wanted chicken waited for a while hoping he was joking yet no waited half an hour other customers came in and were getting served total disgrace I will never set foot in the place again

Tasty Turk is definitely a takeaway to stay away from, the staff are rude and the food is vile, I became ill with food poisoning after eating a margarita pizza, which just shows how disgusting and dirty the place is. Avoid!

Pathetic excuse for a takeaway. The owners let my female friend go to the toilet but wouldn't let me. Never faced anything like this before. They should be ashamed of themselves. Pathetic customer service. Take a look at yourselves before opening tomorrow night. Won't be using again. Ridiculous.

After a good night out The Tasty Turk is ideal for a late night Kebab,burger etc with good sized portions and friendly staff.

My favourite place for chicken kebabs and also the best chips. The 1 star reviews must be from competition as you can see all the genuine 5 star reviews account for most on here. I have tried kebabs all over Whitley Bay in over 5 years living here until I discovered this place only about 6 months ago. Don't let the size or look of the place put you off you wont regret trying it.

This place what can I say.....?? It's got to be the worst food, worst service.. if you eat from here or the place next door be prepared to wake up in pain and have a toilet roll handy I would not even eat from here if I had been 9n the beer all night

The first thing you notice is the unusually friendly staff. Mario is wonderful. I highly recommend a visit here if you are in the area.

Good food, very clean! Ask for the chicken kebab and take it with no sauce. They coat it in lemon juice and it tastes fantastic 😊

Got a taxi here to get some food, took over an hour to get a pizza whilst we paid for a taxi to take us there.No explanation why it took so long and the food was shite. DO NOT EAT HERE

Would like to express my feelings about tasty Turk!!! Order my pizza at quarter past 2 and still waiting at quarter to 3. Many people coming in afterwards and getting special treatment and getting served after me!!!! Been going to this guy for years but after tonight no more. Sorry Mario but you lost yourself a customer from tonight and in the future. Not acceptable when already paid my money however waiting more that 30 mins when others afterwards waited 5-10 mins. Disappointing service.

I remember getting donner kebabs from the Tasty Turk back in the mid 80's when they were the 1st proper alternative to fish n chips.. Can't believe they are still on the go...well done & best of luck to them...they always served up amazing grub..

This place has been going for years now. That's testament to its good food and good service. Always friendly and nice. While others have come and gone the tasty turk has stood the test of time. Other cafes such as joffers didn't last as poor food and moody management. Well done to the Tasty turk

Good late night kebab, highly recommended will be calling again when in Whitley bay. Very good and fellow travellers thought the same all customers very happy and satisfied with the portions.
