Frydays Fish Bar in North Tyneside

I’ve ordered a few times now the pizza has always been nice & the staff are lovely x

I used to get a pizza wrap from here whenever I visited my mate who lived round the corner, but hadn't been back since he moved out of the area years ago. I was reminded of them the other day and drove all the way from Stanley just to get one and was not disappointed. Just how I remember them and very cheap for how huge they are. Won't leave it so long to come back next time!

I ordered the meal for me as a disabled OAP it said at start it was a delivery upon paying it changed to collect which as a disabled OAP and Wallsend is across the River Tyne I had to cancel order then I was informed money would not be returned. Surely robbery.

Food was ordered for 10pm and it was delivered at 8pm, the delivery driver was pleasant and kindly took it back to shop and said he would redeliver it at 10pm as requested. Food came on time for 10pm however they must have put our cod bites in the warmer from 8pm to 10pm as they were awful dried up and chewy, will not order from here again very disappointed

I Just received my Pizza walked Home and opened it Just to find Out the dough is raw NEVER Go there they are triyng to poison me

Needs to learn how to make proper batter, and learn how to put cheese into stuffed crust pizzas... This shop used to sell perfect fish n chips... They are now disgusting!

Had a small kebab wrap and it was unreal, chilli sauce is the best I’ve had and so was the garlic! The chips were lush too. Had stuff from here once before and it’s never failed.

First time customer, probably my last aswell. I only ordered from here because Willow doesn't deliver and I regret my laziness! I ordered a Cowboy meal, and it must be named that because a bunch of cowboys are cooking it. Burger was cheap/nasty with soggy batter, no crisp or even colour to even a 10 year old asked me if it was cooked. Don't worry the dog enjoyed it. I would give the benefit of the doubt and say the grease from the burger made it greasy but this was not the case. I also had 2 battered sausages equally as soggy/colourless. I mean if you're struggling to catch the basics of battered food, I'd rethink your business plan. Chips were fine, food was hot, that was your saving grace from making the review a 2 and not a 1

Used to go here on me lunch break when I worked in Wallsend, thought it was canny and never had a problem. Even when I got a small portion I seemed to get a load of chip!

Had two bad experiences here lately just don't seem to pay attention to what your asking for even daft things like would you like batter on your chips yes and you don't get it sick of it not same as it use to be

Food really bad chips overdone but hard, some chips still had roots on battered sausage was a savloy without skin just dipped in batter it was disgusting first an last I will never order here again terrible food as for service couldn't get through would not answer telephone

Food was terrible. Chips were over done, still had roots from the potatoes on the skin, haven't even been able to finish my meal it was that bad. Sausage wasn't even a pork sausage, it was a savoly sausge in batter. Don't waste your money or time. Won't be back again

Pizza was burnt to a crisp cut snap in half and chips were soggy and full of grease I use to always get it from here ill not be returning

Got kebab and chips lunch time special with chilli sauce was £4. I have had food poisoning! Only thing I ate so I know it is definitely that from here! I would never ever eat from here again nor would I eat kebab now from anywhere again that’s how bad I’ve been. Absolutely Disgusting!!

best donner meat I've had in a long time sliced nice and thin so its cooked through,delivery really quick and driver very pleasant and polite

The Food is still good, well priced but there's been a few times I've gotten thr wrong food so double check before you leave. Otherwise still good and a good range on the menu

Friendly staff, food is always spot on. One of the cleanest places to order from. I wouldn't use anywhere else.

Ordered a kebab and chips I got no pitta bread and the kebab was dry and tasted horrible I'll never go there again was awful

Had fish and chips..fish was OK too much batter for me but that is a preference.

Food was disgusting battered sausage and burger were rubbery went in the bin we didn't receive the curry sauce the bolognese and chips went in the bin it wasn't even mince just a lump of mushed god knows what 🤮

Very quick delivery time, food super fresh, i had the fish and chips, the fish was cooked great, lovely crispy batter, chips were really nice too. defo recommend

In a word disguisting pizza bases not cooked playdoh would be the only thing i could compare the texture of them too, one of the pizzas had about 2 tonne of garlic butter on for no reason whatsoever saying as i didnt ask for a chicken kiev one and even if i had it would of been a chore finding any chicken on it! Hotshot pizza was basically a mushroom and red onion pizza with the above said garlic, chilli sauce was chopped tomoatoes the tinned kind, toped up with with sweet chilli sauce from greenways avoid altogether

Worst pizzas we've ever bought, 4 pizzas all not cooked still doughy , pineapple on the vegi pizza which wasn't listed, not heard back from them when we complained pizzas went in bin

DONT eat from here, ordered 2 LG bags of chips I LG curry 1lg gravy, got home,the chips were horrible and hard, gravy and curry was cold and lumpy, phoned up to complain to be told that the day’s chips were cooked in the morning and had been sat there till 14.30. Not a good restaurant, at least at willows you get FRESH food , not b eating here again.

A 1 star is too generous! Ordered food had a message with time to expect it, waited in the window for the driver. 25mins after it was expected we called to find out where it was. The woman was unapologetic and made it out it was our fault said the driver apparently waited around for half an hour? Really?? Who would ever do that and hold up other orders. The driver is an utter liar, no one came to deliver our food. Offered to deliver us our what would be COLD food but would have to wait another 15/20 mins. What an absolute joke! Happy to take the money but not deliver the food. Will never order from here again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. You need to work on your customer service you could have offered to replace the food as an apology but NO this was the fault of your driver not us the customer. Didn’t once try to ring us as they have done on previous deliveries. No one came into the car park. If we ordered food and paid for it we clearly wanted it!

Got a kebab meat and chips from here and the kebab meat was dry and tasted old the chips were OK but the garlic was horrible would not go again 😑

Went to frydays fish shop for for 1st time today nd it wont be the last really tasty food and friendly staff would highly recommend this to everyone

Great staff and service with well cooked, fresh fish and chips. They kept us well supported with our Friday treat throughout the pandemic.

Not impressed with the food we got yesterday for "good Friday". I understand it was busy and we would of happily waited for fresh fish to be cooked as the food is normally nice from here! We ordered a large cod and chips to then be given two small fish as apparently it's the equivalent to a "large fish". Service was quick to so thought even better with what's going on. Got home and no wonder we were hurried away, the fish was dry looked like it had been sat there a while and wey there was more batter than fish very disappointing.

Really disappointed, over cooked burnt fish and under cooked chips . No care taken when wrapping up as you can see in picture . Gutted gills up road was shut

Ordered haddock and chips wife server shouted ran around asking for door to be open.its freezing outside..shouted at boss whole time rolling her eyes.(scatty to say the least) she rolled the fish and chips up that tight when I got them home they were destroyed. Scraped them out of bag not going all the way back as I live in howdon but drove so it's not like I got a but and dropped them.

Ordered for delivery fish and chips . The chips delivered one hour later no fish , phoned shop they said would send it straight away 30 mins later fish. All in bin waste of money never again.

Spent nearly £30 on an order, no curry sauce in the bag. I really cant stand how someone cant read an order and put all the items in the bag. It's not like I ordered a million things, it's just incompetence of the highest order. And it's a good job I haven't put a photo of my fish and chips on here as they wouldn't sell any, ever again.

I bought some food from this place. I ate the food. It was quite nice.

This chippy was recommended by one of our friends, so today we decided to give it a try. The Jumbo Cod was cooked nice and tasty, we also got a welcoming smile from the fryer guy. Will definitely go back

Friendly staff and the fish was lovely, my kids liked the burgers. It is our favourite chippy in the area now, will definitely order from this place again.

Went to Frydays for lunch, got a kebab and cheese Pattie and chips. Can honestly say was one of the worst meals we have ever had. We binned the lot. The chips tasted like they had been heated up from night before. The cheese Pattie has no cheese might aswell been a potato Pattie. Kebab meat wasn’t best but was edible until we found a long black hair. Safe to say we won’t ever be going back

I still love this place but I've noticed the past few takeaways the portions have got smaller.... which is a real shame because the prices aren't the cheapest. My fish and chips are very small now not too happy for what I paid for.

home delivery can be a bit of a wait and sometimes do not get fish that was ordered and batter offten soggy not drained enough and if you call into the shop the staff are very nice but takes ages as deliveries seem to take preference

I go here a few times and all the time it is good. Nothing to say bad about this place. My opinion is that it is good place to go but not as good as partrinis in whitley bay. Pug64 i read ALL of your reviews and only see 6 reviews 5 of them 1 star and one of them 2 star. I ask have you ever come across any restaurants you would give a five star to ? I doubt you ever will. My suggestion stay at home and cook for yourself.

Chicken Tikka Kebabs and mixed Kebabs are the business! however the Fish is poor they used to be high quality and massive now they are average at best cod bites used to be huge aswell now they're tiny, pizza's are nice! customer service is good!

Came here at around 9.30pm and got chips and garlic sauce. The chips were like rubber and we chucked them in the bin. First and last time we visit this place.

frydays was our regular fish and chip shop,however tonight we ordered our meal picked it up and when we got it home the chips were cold. Fish was fine, we rang back to tell them and we were offered another bag of chips (us collecting them while our fish sat on the plate getting cold too.we were then offered fresh fish and chips with them delivering them we declined. Hot fish and chips isn't too much to ask for.A nother customer lost.

Like most take away in this area the food is crap not enough care under cooked chips . Frozen fish used when you have a fish quay a few mile away . The meal was rank and really inedible . We will not return it's as bad as sidhus battlehill

This was one of my ‘go-to’ places - don’t get me wrong, the food is delicious - but only when they can get the order right! My past two visits have left us bitterly disappointed and unfortunately won’t be returning anymore. My first disappointment came after a long day at work, not having much time to get food so I thought what better way than to have a treat and sink my teeth into a nice piece of fish in a bread bun. I was so looking forward to it... So I returned home and opened the goodies and found two large tubs of garlic sauce in place of my bread buns. Ruined. I did call and all I got was ‘oh, I’m sorry we’ll be careful in future’. Not good enough - I paid for my meal - you should have been more careful this time! Then I’ve gone back thinking oh it’ll be fine and this time, we ordered a jumbo fish and chips and yeah it tasted nice! But half of it was left in the shop! Fair play - it’s a big fish. But to pick it up - snap it clean in half and then leave half of it in the cabinet (so much that the other staff were asking why there was fish in the cabinet that clearly wasn’t meant to be there). So there we have it - 1 less customer for Frydays. Bravo.

Mam and Dad have raved about this place in the past, so we ordered for all of 7 of us. Kids meal deals were great couldnt fault their fish and chips, beautifull crispy batter. Ours on the other hand was awfull thick and rubbery, chips were ok but where was the salt, vinegar, batter?? Must of ran out, Parents couldnt beleive the difference to what they normally get, wont be going back to see if they were just having an off day,

food arrived early and hot , lovely kebab and pizza.....will use again

Having ordered from Fryday's for quite a while now I have noticed the quality has deteriorated recently. The order is always correct and on time but the food is cold and very greasy. Sad to say we won't be ordering from them again

have to give 5* for there bolognese cheesy chips first time trying them hear and they were beautiful really fresh bolognese sauce to. kids meals are a great size not like other chipys small sizes my daughter love the pop corn chicken. definitely will be ordering more.

Food has always been lovely and hot and delivered on time - bonus when it's early! A wide range of menu to choose from keeps on bringing me back here, I never go anywhere else now.

Frydays fish bar is in a good location and the quality and service is of a good standard. The prices are competitive and the variety of food is good.

Food was over an hour late. The original chicken kebab wasn't worth £6 not enough chicken or salad.

Delivery time 18.35 but didn't arrive until 19.10. Pepperoni and ham on a VEG Special pizza. I haven't eaten meat in 25yrs and had to endure a mouthful. First time I have been disappointed in Fryday's. Will be reluctant to order online again.

Very poor. Poor service, poor delivery and cause of that the food was poor! Delivery was due 19:10, I rang them at 19:30 they said wait another 10mins so I did. I rang again at 19:40 they told me hold on while they rang delivery driver. He was lost and couldn’t find my house... GREAT... I placed the order at 18:20 more than long enough time wise. I could have went out fishing and cooked the fish myself in the time it took to receive my order! 19:55 we receive our food. It felt warm in the bag but it wasn’t very hot and the paper was so soggy off grease and steam off the heat and being in the bag so long it just fell apart when trying to unwrap the food. Very very VERY disappointed! I wish I had of just asked for a refund and cancelled the order! Almost £17 down the drain! Waste of money!

Used to get our chippy tea once a week from here it was always beautiful Past few times seems to be something different. Not sure if it's changed hands please go back to the way it was thank you
