First time here - I never bother with reviews but couldn’t recommend this place highly enough ! The food was fresh hot and very good quality - the service was excellent. It’s hard to find a great fish and chip shop! Look no further Bedford this is seriously number 1

Me and my mate just had a 2xLarge Cod and 2xRegular Fries for 21£ which is banging price for that meals.Food was been fresh and delicious.Staff working there was been very kind and friendly. Highly recommend that place to anyone who like good food

The fish and chips were amazing and you get a lot of chips , the fish is huge and thats a standard, even my husband was impressed, we used to go to Onley we were very disappointed, so now we will go to Tasty Tucks even though its 6 miles they were still warm when i got home. The staff are very friendly.

This is the only place in town that sells proper fish and chips.No only looks good but actually tastes good too.ever been disappointed.Value for money too and the Guns that own and run it are always there to serve and treat you like gold.If these guys weren't around I would be so miserable.

Tasty tuck is without a doubt the BEST fish and chip shop in Bedford! The quality of the fish is insane and the portion sizes are amazing! Mustafa is the loveliest person I have ever met and could conversate with him for hours! Do not hesitate to choose this as your all time favourite fish bar!

I ordered just a small fish - I was in town with my elderly mum and she suddenly felt weak and wanted something to eat - the owner served a beautiful small battered cod and placed a small serving of chips on top - I did not ask for them and he did not charge for them but he said it would be nice to try them. He brought a smile to my face. This small but significant act of kindness and going that extra mile is what sets great businesses apart from the average ones. It is a differentiator. I’ve bought fish and chips here just once before, and I thoroughly recommend the place. And by the way, the fish and chips are of the highest quality. Use this place ... or should I say, use this plaice? 😉

A generous serving of fish chips and mushy peas. A nice guy ,who served us lovely food. Our son told us to go there. Good food cooked well and a friendly atmosphere. It was just what we needed we had had a hard day that ended with a very welcome helping of fish and chips.

For years now this has been and remains the best chippy I'm Bedford. Friendly and courteous staff, great portions, reasonable prices. The fish used to be skinless but today we got home and found it had skin. Not an issue, but just remember, if you don't like the skin just ask them for a skinless fish. It'll also be cooked fresh too! The chips are lush, crispy & delicious scraps and according to my mother in law "the best mushy peas she's ever had"! Also, who doesn't love a cheeky pre-dinner battered sausage for the journey home. I've never lived close to this chippy but gladly drive across town, past many other chip shops to collect. If you don't go here then either you don't know about it or you have a hankering for substandard chippy food. Get off ya haunches, tide on down to the Tuck and do yourself a favour.

We stopped in after a family outing and got a range of dishes. The large cod was absolutely huge and the chips (while a bit soft as the often are in the south) were tasty and again the portion large. The scampi was well cooked, and the doner kebab massive. All in all this was a first class stop in the chippy realm/

The place is very clean. The staff are very friendly and talkative with myself. Fish,chips mushy pea and curry sauce is excellent. I do have burgers with donner meat is also excellent. I go once a week. No problems at all.

Chips are nice, but only the chips. Also check your order before you leave, they forget the order.

We decided to treat ourselves as we were going into tier 4 in Bedford. And went to the tasty tuck chippy wow what a fantastic takeaway. The fish was amazing white with such a light crispy batter and the chips were golden on the outside and fluffy in the middle. I must say that they were the best fish and chips I have eaten in a long long time, thank you tasty tuck. Truly amazing thanks. Scott

Shop ok I guess...sum food cooked ok...found on numerous occasions chips always greasy...staff are always chirpy even wen busy...parking outside a big problem...I recommend ppl try Fisherman's chip shop located further up the road...

Always absolutely excellent food and never a long wait. They are also friendly and happy even though they are so busy. Going there is a highlight of my moving back from Spain after 12 years.

I gave this one star as it would not let me post without, but I wouldn't give them any stars at all, unless they were in the minus, then I would give them 10. I would not visit this place again. Whatever the food was cooked in was stale and tasted off to me, I wanted to reach, also the chips felt claggy like they were cooked in stale lard as it left a residue in the mouth, not pleasant to say the very least. On the rare occasion I eat fish and chips, I much prefer The Golden Chicken Barbecue in Bromham Rd Bedford, or Denmark St. Bedford. One of the best, has long gone, and that was the chippy in bus station in Bedford.

Had my parents over for supper before lock down end we decided on fish and chips as it always pleases everyone. My Dad being a Yorkshireman, living on the coast was literally brought up on fish and chips and knows a good fish and chip shop or two. It was the first time he had sampled the fish and chips and he said it was one of the best he’s tasted!! The fish is always huge and well battered in a crisp not to thick coating and the chips are simply delicious... in fact, everything we have eaten from there has been including the batteries sausages and mushy peas... it’s the best Fish and Chip shop in Bedford and we wouldn’t go anywhere else now!

What happened.. so disappointed, chips were gritty and firm. Not what I was expecting.

Gone downhill big time, no PPE gloves or mask cooking and serving food and then touched my food with his hands.

First visit since lockdown easing, one person in at a time worked well. Cod and chips plus spring roll and chips ordered, waited outside whilst food was being cooked. Cod was first class but the chips weren't up to their normal standard. My spring roll was cold in the middle. Room for improvement based on today's visit.

I really don't understand why anyone in Bedford goes anywhere else. I've been to them all and this is by far the best. Wonderfully fresh fish, chip portions to die for and yet somehow cheaper than anywhere else!

Tasty Tucks is around the corner from our office and as well as ordering large orders for all staff, our team quite often visit the shop on our lunch break. The chips are always fresh, hot and tasty - and actually taste like potato! The portions of fish are huge but I love the battered sausage. The man who runs the shop is always so friendly too! Definitely a 5/5!

"just 2 minutes for your chips" over ten minutes later still waiting and had to moan to get them. They were alright as chip shop chips go, but not great. While I was waiting I noticed the tall glass front fridge behind the counter had raw burgers and other meat products together with prepared salad on the same shelves. Glad I only ordered chips!

Discovered this chippy on the way back home and what a find. Lovely fish so fresh and lovely chips. Mostly cooked to order so you know what your getting. Lovely.
