Tasty Joy in Newcastle-under-Lyme

Only found this gem of a place a couple of weeks ago, I had shredded beef with Singapore noodles and some barbecue spare ribs and it was absolutely gorgeous, I hope I’m in for a similar experience tonight as I have ordered the same, beautiful food and great service, 5 stars.

Ordered at 17.30 its now 19.30 and still no food. Rang 3 times and every time I get told its on the way. I am so hungry so it better turn up. Very very disappointed

Two lovely meals. Food was piping hot and fresh. Shredded beef in chilli was gorgeous. Loads of fresh vegetables in the rice and we loved the barbecue sauce. The sharing Dim Sum was excellent value with varied starters. We'll definitely be back. Thank you 😊

This had been recommended to us, finally got round to ordering from them for the first time tonight, the food was absolutely delicious, this is definitely our Saturday night delivered takeaway , well done

I guess it’s okay, I ordered special chow mein, salt and pepper chips, and the mixed starter box & curry sauce Flavours are nothing to write home about, chips were soggy chow main was okay, the curry sauce had a strange texture, almost like a jelly of some kind, and tasted pretty bad Delivery time was an excruciatingly long 90 mins… on a Tuesday? Deliver driver seemed nice Would not use again as much better options, however also not the worst I’ve had

The food overall was good, however we had two sweet and sour chicken ball value boxes and there was very little sweet and sour sauce on either. It ruined the meal and we could finish it as it was dry. Very disappointed ☹️

The food taste so good, the service is really good also and the person who's doing the counter is really respectful.

I made an UBER order and an hour later they cancelled it, without any reason! Too late to make another order What a load of TRIPE

Vast menu choices,The food is quality,and you can see that time has been taken to prepare.Vegetarian options available,Great prices for dishes and the value meals are excellent.Staff in the shop are polite,delivery drivers are prompt and polite.I would highly recommended tasty joy Chinese.

The best Chinese style food in SOT. Spicy curry sauce, perfect rice dishes, crispy duck to die for. The legendary Tina Turner actually wrote a song about this take away, Simply The Best!!!

Very expensive for when we got, saying it was large but it was standard portions, plus it did t taste fresh and it was very quick to get to us, the chips went straight into the bin, curry sauce was like a a very hot curry sauce , chicken wasn’t fresh, very dry chow main, so this was a waste of money as it went all in the bin after a few mouthfuls, out came the toaster , that wasn’t fresh food from that take away at all .

The food here was absolutely lovely, we were having a big party so we ordered quite a bit of food, all of it was very nice and came with a few freebies due to the amount that we bought. Our only issue was that it took 90 minutes to arrive (they did state this when we ordered) but was worth the wait and because they were transparent we would not knock the rating.

This is the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had. I always have the vegetable sweet and sour but I love that there are so many vegetarian options! Me and my partner order from here regularly and our friends love having a Tasty Joy when they visit too. They agree that it's the best around. Delicious food, friendly delivery drivers. Highly recommend.

Delivery on time would recommend tasty joy.

1st and last time I eat here Food not good Ribs dry, chewy I couldn't swallow the meat Egg fried rice had a really odd smell and taste, like dry odd texture I can't explain it. Chips greasy and crunchy and the spring rolls were soggy. I have since been sick after eating some of it 😩 partner refused to eat his half. Prawn crackers were nice and delivery driver was really friendly. Didn't wait long for delivery either but food wasn't good maybe just an off day or my personal taste but couldn't have from here again.

Delivery took over 1 hour 30. I called after 50 minutes to be told it would be 10 minutes. By the time the food arrived it had been sat in the box for a long time so was starting to go cold

I tried this place last night and enjoyed the food and the service. I had the salt and pepper ribs which there was a big pile of with loads of meat on them. Also a beef curry which again loads of meat fresh mushroom onion and peas in there too,And chips which were chunky fresh and tasty. I was there about ten mins from opening time . I will have no problem driving up from Alsager again to return.

Good value for money compared to other Chinese takeaways, really tasty and the delivery driver was lovely.

If i could give 0 stars i would. Terrible service, over 1.5hours for delivery, which I can accept if I hadn't called the take away after 30 minutes to see if the delivery time would be another hour, I was happy to cancel rather than wait but I was fobbed off. Upon arrival the food was cold, dry and I could plaster with the curry sauce. All in all not a pleasant experience and if you value good food, go elsewhere. Complete waste of hard earned money.

Food was absolutely delicious and nice and warm

Literally just ordered crispy shredded beef and egg fried rice. Got home to find that I've been given special fried rice chocked full of prawns, which I am allergic to. Simply not good enough, never again.

No flavor, very disappointing and under cooked Plus it is cash only.

We’ve been ordering from Tasty Joy since moving to Kidsgrove and the food has always been really nice. Today I ordered food just for myself as my partner wasn’t feeling well and we haven’t done food shop yet. Despite getting the minimum order amount, the driver was very rude when he came. He kept mentioning the items we ordered and then asked if we had paid, which we had as it said on the receipt and he said ‘he’ll be back later if we haven’t’ which was really unnecessarily threatening. Hasn’t come back yet, didn’t expect him too anyway, but definitely not ordering from there anymore if this is the attitude the drivers have. If you don’t want to deliver small amounts of food then up your minimum order. Wouldn’t mind but we paid the delivery fee as well.

Amazing place, tried it on a quick stop and definelty worth it for a Friday night

Ok so my first time in here since new owners and was pleasantly surprised, ok I went into the shop to order but the food came very quickly, portions were impressive, very impressive actually, wasn't over priced, wasn't expecting gourmet food, but it was tasty and mega hot, actually put half up for another meal,

Just had our first delivery from Tasty Joy and can say with 100% certainty that it will be our last. Food was absolutely awful, luke warm, everything tasted the same and that one taste was almost flavourless. Far from tasty and certainly not a joy.

I ordered pork and mushrooms and was left disappointed as there was no taste in it whatsoever. The egg fried rice was tasteless and greasy as was the seaweed. The bbq ribs were hard and chewy. Husband enjoyed the schezuan duck. Wouldn't use this place again.

Just had our first delivery from Tasty Joy and it won’t be the last. The delivery lady was very pleasant and brought our food 50 minutes earlier than expected which was a nice surprise. The food was plentiful and very tasty and hot,we thoroughly enjoyed our meal thankyou.

Terrible service. Took 2 hours for delivery. They forgot about us and only sorted the order because I called. Just not on!

Worst chop suey i have ever had it tasted like sweet and sour sauce with bean sprouts thrown in 1st and last time ordering from here.

We have had a few meals from Tasty Joy and not been disappointed. The value range are as they intimate really great value and tasty too. 👍
