I hadn't been in Tastebuds for some time for a breakfast so today I thought I'd give it a try. I t was busy and so I was prepared to wait, 40 mins. later I got my food, some of it was warm some was cold(tomato) the sausage was well cooked and hard on one side and hard to cut through and the bacon... must have been the smallest piece I have ever had, the egg when picked up dropped to bits, oh the mushrooms were ok and at £8.95 I thought it was very overpriced for the quality and what I got.

Thank you for providing such impressive buffet food for us last week. We had a hectic few days of courses which we were hosting, and so being able to rely on you to provide the food for everyone was great. As always dealing with Tastebuds is so easy, the service is fantastic and friendly. The food always wonderful and great value for money. You will always be our go to for hot or cold outside catering. Thanks again.

How long would you expect to wait for two coffees? 10 minutes? OK, let that one slide. How long would you wait for 2 slices of cheese on toast? 40 minutes? Well we did and only when I stropped out and went to pay was I told it was ready. As politely as I could I just paid for the coffee and left. Wouldn't have minded but the amount of staff didn't justify the wait of a full forty minutes.

A warm welcome. Accessible. Serving staff are helpful kind and Disabilitiy aware. Accessible toilet. All on one level. Parking outside. Food wonderful. I had the skillet which is a small frying pan with cubed potatoes , bacon ,spring onion , cheese and egg. It was perfection. Cubed potatoes were superb. Husband had an excellent breakfast. The food is freshly prepared so allow time for perfection to be served. Small display of craft items to buy at sensible prices. Food sensibly priced. A must visit.

Visited today ( Friday) for light lunch. Shared a salmon and prawn sandwich between us with fries and side salad. My wife has a mocktail Pina Colada and I had a Latte. Food was first class as usual. The staff at this place are at the top of their game re authentic customer service. Nothing is to much trouble and are always eager to please. The menu is very reasonably priced ( sometimes I think they should actually be charging more for the quality of food and service!) Great management and and a regular favourite now of ours in Whalley. Well done.

We called here for lunch today after reading some excellent reviews on here. The staff were all very pleasant and everything looked very clean and inviting. There is a large choice on the menu and we chose the hot beef and onion baguettes which came with a side serving of chips. I am not a great fan of thick chips, preferring a side salad, but I have to say that these were the best chips that I have had for a long time. Piping hot and lovely crunchy exterior with nice fluffy insides! The baguettes were excellent too!! Lovely place to eat!

I tried Tastebuds with a friend and we are so glad we did, there are two rooms so don't think it's small. The staff are friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they are great at advising too. We had a cream tea and were amazed at what we got, plus two cups of soup, all for under £20!! I will definitely be back with mum too, do go but be sure to book if you can as it always seems busy

I visited the previous establishment before it was taken over and found the service poor. Thought l would give it another go and so pleased l did. The owners have got a winning combination with a varied menu including lots of homemade offerings. My wife had the homemade soup and l had the hot beef sandwich with homemade chips. The portions were generous and the menu extensive. The service team were mature and worked like beavers to provide a great experience. Little add ons like "would you like more hot water for your tea" made it special . So strong menu, brilliant faultless service and reasonable prices make this a winner. Even though it was a Monday it was still busy so booking advisable.

GF likes here as the chicken liver pate and accompanying pizza garlic bread also hit the spot. So there ended up a couple of those on the table plus a king prawn ginger starter. All OK. Mains a bit more disappointing especially the Sunday Roast Beef. Thin tough slices of beef served with their basic veg that they serve with their other dishes. No effort there. The Madeira pork was nice and GF enjoyed her fettuccine paradiso. Couple of desserts - one someone’s second sundae of the weekend and the other a decent crème brûlée. £36 for a bottle of standard Soave is outrageous and I have to say the place lacked any atmosphere and the staff any warmth.

Turned up at about 8.50am on Easter bank holiday Monday. Had checked the website before hand. It said open at 8am. So we went along. 4 of us. Three adults and a 2 year old. Got to the door, which was open. Was told “we open in 10 minutes” we asked if we could sit inside for that time (because it was a bit chilly outside) but the dark haired girl said she was doing the cashing up so no we couldn’t. I was there with my daughters and a 2 year old. We were hardly going to rob the place. Plus, it turned out when we got inside that this was a building with a very open communal seating area which she could have let us sit at for 10 minutes. We ordered our food. I asked if there was any juice for kids (the 2 year old) - the dark haired girl working said “only what we’ve got in the fridge”. I said “don’t you have any orange juice or anything like that?” The reply being - “only what we’ve got in the fridge” which was those pretentious glass bottles of 1930’s fizzy pop (the brand that does stuff like dandelion and burdock). I bought two bottles of “Orange and Mandarin” thinking they weren’t fizzy. They were. More fool me. Basically Tory Fanta. Anyway. I went and sat down with my older daughters and my 2 year old son. My daughters ordered avocado on toast with salmon. I had a full English being the uncouth soul that I am. I asked if they have a kids menu for my 2 year old. The answer was no. I ordered him beans, one sausage and some scrambled eggs. I was told this could be done from the side menu, that alone cost £7.50. The beans, sausage and eggs came out on the same plate as one of my daughters breakfast. We had to guess that was the case (not mastermind but still ridiculously daft that they’d do this) we had to ask for a plate for my 2 year old who was in a high chair. Anyway. Another family came in about the same time as us. Low and behold another of their staff bought out two huge glasses of orange juice for them. So they did have other drinks available. My full English was ok, but it wasn’t great. The bacon was burned. It wasn’t crispy like the menu says. It was burned. So if the proprietor/owner wants to reply to this with a clever comment. The bacon was burned. Also, the poached eggs were COLD. And I don’t mean not quite warm, they were cold. We were the first people in, the place wasn’t busy and somehow I was served cold poached eggs. I’ve re read through the menu tonight before writing this review. Whenever I choose a place to eat again I’m always going to look for the word “Artisan” because that to me, on the whole means not very good. The “Artisan” toast I received was just sliced bread, but toasted. They even claim to have an “Artisan” Brioche bun If you look up the definition of “Artisan” in the dictionary it says. a person or company that produces something (such as cheese or wine) in limited quantities often using traditional methods —often used before another noun artisan breads I don’t think that you can claim that obviously pre sliced bread or even a Brioche Bun is “Artisan”. There’s too many mediocre cafes/restaurants who have latched onto this word and used it. The company website claims “We focus on quality and sustainability above all, which extends to everything we do. From our suppliers to takeaway packaging, we carefully select each element keeping you and the planet in mind. We support local, and well-being of the community is at the heart of what we do.” This is nonsense. My daughters asked for some tap water, they were pointed towards one of those fancy upside down glass water bottles, and plastic cups, plastic lids. Lots of plastic. They had paper straws. I don’t know about you, but if you want to be really sustainable, if someone asks for tap water, give them a glass of tap water in a glass. Zero plastic, zero waste. To finish up. Pros - pretty pattern on the coffee. Cons - Really incredibly gormless staff; bad cook who can’t even cook bacon or keep a poached egg warm; rude; not child friendly as no kids menu even at weekends/bank holidays (although there was a couple of high chairs). As you can imagine I will never be going back to this place. I’ve given them two stars because my daughter liked the swirly pattern on the top of her Flat White.
