Taste Of India in Lambeth

Had a great set meal from here. The chicken tikka and seekh kebab starters with salad, onion salad and minted yoghurt were delicious. Portion sizes were generous throughout. The naan bread was soft and excellent. However, two of the main course dishes were slightly spoiled by being just too sweet. The chicken tikka masala tasted as if the chef had tipped half a bag of sugar into the mix. A little would have been fine, but it was sweeter than a sweet pudding. Same with the mattar paneer. Pity, because the underlying dishes were good. I’d have given 5 stars if they’d got this right. Also - we booked online. We then got a text message saying that delivery would be 40 minutes longer than the initial 40 minute estimate (ie 1hr 20m). We were inclined to cancel. A phone call and they delivered in 30 minutes! So worth phoning!!

Didn't arrive and was provided with the excuse of a 'strange chain' of events that led to the order not arriving, and then told it simply didn't come through. Either way, no food, no offer to re-order and told that I should dial in directly, placing onus on customer and not provider. Really poor.

Pedimos llevar curry y pan de ajo. Curry era muy aguada y pan naan sabor soagy. Hablé con el gerente para comentar sobre la comida y era gracia y colgó. Nunca había probado una tan mala comida india, mucho menos horrible servicio al cliente. Qué desperdicio de dinero!

This place needs more credit. So glad I stumbled across this establishment. There may not be any fancy marketing schemes or ridulous offers to lure you but trust me the food does all the talking where it counts. I never do reviews but this place needs a voice hense why I had to break the silence.

Food came warm, chicken was tough and pink, naan bread tough also and Pilau rice didn't make it, so had to wait another 20 minutes for it to arrive.

My meal arrived exactly when they said it would. I was disappointed with the spicy poppadoms. They were stale and I had to throw it out. The curry had just the right amount of spice.

Most authentic Indian food I've found in London so far. Nothing fancy, but down to earth, home cooked style fare. And very good value for money as well!

The two curries that I ordered were very tasty. I will definitely order from here again. I do however feel that the samosas were a bit too small and I would have thought I should have had some free popadoms for spending nearly £25.00. Maybe this should be taken into account.

One of the worst experiences I have had from a takeaway in recent years. Late by 1 hour, cold, over-spiced food. There are several much better alternatives in the Victoria area.

Nice little restaurant with good Indian cuisine at great prices. Service was fine and quick! Location is good, but seating is cramped. A great choice for a casual Indian food dining experience.

Tried many curries in kennington area and found them disappointing and overpriced. This wasn't the best I've ever eaten but it was the best ive found and will definitely use again. I Lived in Manchester 11 years which set the bar high so im probably not easily pleased.

This was one of the best Indian takeaways i've ever had. Really nice please spiced ingredients were fantastic. The delivery time of 55 minutes was a bit slow but I'd like to try them again and see if they are quicker because the food was wonderful and the leftovers the next day even better

They have always done great curries here. On my last visit it'd undergone a bizarre refurb. It now also sells burgers and kebabs from a separate fast food counter.

Not the best meal we have had . We ordered three different lamb dishes , a chicken korma , pilau rice , tarka dal , a potato dish and naan bread. All meat dishes had a large amount of oil in them and seemed to be made from the same basic masala sauce with a few different onions or tomatoes added . The tarka dal was salty . Delivery time was good and food was still hot . I don't think I would use them again , the meal came to nearly £50.00 and I don't think it was worth the price .
