Taste Of Greece in Bolton

I decided to go early and had a butty, unfortunately it was so greasy, I think they have spelt the name wrong.

Absolutely delicious can’t recommend highly enough. What a lovely couple that own this place, excellent service with a smile.

Was visiting Bolton and decided to have some lunch. Sat outside in the sun, with small bottle of Mythos, and really enjoyed my Gyros. Freshly cooked, nice bit of salad, lovely garlic sauce, what more can you ask for! Well worth popping in if you're ever in Bolton!

I have been regularly eating at Taste of Greece and I am never disappointed ! Excellent wraps and salads! I highly recommend :)) Very affordable prices and great service.

We often get Gyros when we go to Greece on holiday so I bought 2 x Yeeros for myself and my wife. Safe to say I wasn’t disappointed - great value for money and packed with meat. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and we had a nice conversation. I also ended up getting some drinks to take away to help this business whilst unable to dine in. Professional, friendly service and great food. Would recommend.

This has been a regular over the years for the family that is split over 3 households. The trip for a gyros and baklava often sees us do uptown a 20 mile round trip or one of us bringing back when in Bolton. One of my daughters cravings during pregnancy too. As authentic as Santorini. Lovely staff and owners. Nice place to eat in too and a firm favourite of the local businesses. I’m writing this now as it’s my daughters 30th birthday and one of her birthday wishes is gyros breakfast. We have negotiated lunch. Happy Birthday Amy! X

I used to lived in Athens and the food here was as great as some of the best food I ate there. Authentic and tastes amazing. Highly recommended.

I heard so many nice things about this place, but really was not happy with the final product. I ordered 3 veggie yeeros and ended up with a meat yeero. I really don't think this is acceptable, considering I get 30min for lunch it really did upset me. I will not be going again!

I love the gyros, but only found out that the meat was Halal after a Halal butcher came into the cafe to drop off some chicken. I totally disagree with Islamic method of slaughtering animals I won't be going back.

The gyros is bangin , an authentic wrap and inside is a very well seasoned chicken with a choice of many veggies which is just REALLY NICE .

Had a yeeros, filled with griddle chicken, plenty of salad, tzatziki sauce a few chips and all wrapped with an authentic pitta. The first bite made me feel on holiday! The couple who cooked and served us were genuinely very nice people, even when they took the micky out of my husband for eating his with a knife and fork!!! Very reasonably priced, cheap really, will be back very soon.

what a change from the cheap tasting fast food kebabs in nearly all the takeaways near me, had the chicken yeros and it was just like being back on holiday in santorini, excellent value and top quality, well done to the owner/ chef and his team, cant wait to go back.

Nice surprise finding taste of Greece. Excellent lamb burger , with salad and fries wrapped in nice pita bread.

This is a place to visit if in Bolton a genuine taste of Greece all food is fresh and prepared to order did call in the summer and you could sit outside when busy you may have a slight wait but well worth it.

I have been to Greece many many times. I love Greece and Greek folks and the food. Eating here takes me back to a favourite place in Greece. Never had anything other than a lovely experience.

Got a small greek salad for 3 quid (large box being 6) and came in a tiny box tasty tho but sadly not worth it

Very fresh kebabs - meat, salad and bread all very tasty and with good seasoning. 4.50 for a reasonable size in a cafe is a very good deal, wish I could find a deal this good in the evening! Lovely chunks of lamb.

This is a small (Greek) family run cafe close to the town centre. my wife and I always call in when we are in Bolton for anything. Take my word for it, you won't find anything more authentic this side of the Med!!The Gyro meal is very good value for money and delicious, cooked with the family's secret recipe of mixed herbs etc, and very filling. If you are expecting restaurant style food you will be disappointed, but if you want traditional Greek family food at very reasonable prices this will be right up your street. Take my word for it, and give it a visit.

We have ben here 4 time now and what a fantastic place, the food on every visit was excellent, the staff are really nice and friendly, I would thoroughly recommend, and looking forward to our next visit

In bolton Christmas shopping and had a few drinks before going for a meal with friends and kids - looked on trip adviser for restaurants and spotted this little gem!!!Walked in to a cafe, not a restaurant as we thought but were not disappointed, staff fantastic, food fantastic and very nice house wineWould not hesitate visiting again

Popped in tonight prior to watching Bolton Christmas light switch on, food was delicious and wine very reasonably priced, this will be my defo stop of when I nip into Bolton ....

The menu is not vast for dinner but we enjoyed a variety of starters followed by Giros. They also catered for a vegan member of our party. Not a great selection of wine, but the red we chose was really very good. We happily enjoyed a shot of ouzo with the compliments of the owner/chef.

Called on a Sunday morning for breakfast, my husband had s full English I had a feta cheese omlette it was lovely and fresh, not the cheapest £6.00 for an omlette, but a nice treat

First time I have been to his place. My friend had recommended it. We went in for a quick bite to eat, the food was great and very friendly staff. Highly recommend this place!!

The food is cooked fresh when you order, authentic Greek gyros cooked by Greek staff. You cannot fault anything food fantastic, lovely staff and top hygiene standards.

This place is so welcoming. The owner is from a little village called kremasti in Rhodes. He has definately brought with him the skills of presenting and making delicious food at a amazing prices. Its only tiny but so very clean and the toilets are downstairs so if you have a disability you may struggle. He will also play greek music if you ask. Will definately go back again.

We were just feeling nostalgic for that taste of real Greek food from past holidays and we found it at Taste of Greece in Bolton. The Gyros was excelent. The value is amazing and the service friendly and efficient. I highly recommend you visit

Great Greek restaurant on Deansgate. Inexpensive, traditional Greek food. Not a lot of indoor seating, so it gets full on a Saturday lunchtime. Recommend the gyros - really delicious and includes chips.

Very clean , food really nice and good value for money. Would definitely recommend and will be returning again very soon .

Oh my word. Why have I waited so long to come here? My daughter told me about this place over a year ago. I come to Bolton every week or so but I've never gone in. I had some time to spare and being lunchtime I thought I'd pop in with my wife. It's a tiny place with only 16 seats however there were a couple of tables free. The menu is only small but and chips. Each one is freshly made and its just the best thing ever. The only bad thing to say is that the beer (all Greek), is quite expensive. However £12 for our meal was a bargain. Can't wait to go back.

Great quality food and lovely, kind service. Quality home cooked food which you can tell is completely traditional greek food done to perfection! Unbelievable value

Tried this quaint little place after seeing it on TripAdvisor.Restaurant is small with a small menu too. No complaints from me and everything was clean and tidy.We went for the Yeeros which I guess is similar Gyros. It came in reasonable time as everything was cooked fresh. It tasted delicious and now we know where to go when we want a nice quick authentic Greek snack.Thanks Taste if Greece!

Took my 6yr old here and he cleared a chicken Greek salad! Never been easier to get your 5 a day! The food is amazing, potion sizes are spot on and the prices are very reasonable. Been here before and you can tell it is a great place as so many people order and collect, plus the place is always full. This is a small cafe with 6-8 small tables inside and a small menu selection with specials on a board too. This is the place to go if you want to feel like you are in Greece whilst sat in a very rainy and full Bolton.

I visited The Taste Of Greece last Friday 9 August 2019 and waited 45 minutes for a Lamb Burger. Their were several people coming in and getting their food before me so when I questioned this I was told by the Chef / Proprietor that I was next his attitude was Very Condescending then I still had to wait another 15 minutes before I was served, the Waitress was very pleasant but I did not like his attitude one bit. While I was leaving he shouted to m.e that my Lamb Burger was ready, I think that he thought that he was being clever well the only clever thing I will say to him is I will never set foot in there again and neither will friends that I have told about his attitude.

First visit today with daughter and 6 week old grandson. Wondering why I've never been before - outdoor seating with room for pram. Pay and order at counter and food is brought to table. Never tried Greek food before but if it tastes as good and fresh as this I'm a fan Chicken Gyros and diet coke in the sun - what could be better. There is inside seating and a Greek Phrase of the Week Board. Children welcome - friendly staff Thank you - we will return x

I booked this restaurant (based on the excellent reviews) a month ago to visit today following my sons graduation. We arrived by taxi at 1pm to find it closed. A notice on the door informed us it is closed from 16th - 24th July. A polite phone call would have been nice beforehand to inform us but all ended well with a delicious tapas just up the road.

This is the best place to eat in Bolton value for money lovely owners friendly and relaxed and the food excellent eat in or take-a-way highly recommended

I saw this little cafe a few days ago and thought I'd give it a try. There were only two staff on duty and it was busy so tables were a bit slow to be cleared and the food took a little while but it was delicious when it arrived. The staff were really lovely so I will be going back for sure.

Me and my partner love Taste of Greece and go here regularly. The gyros are so cheap and amazing at £3.50, they are so fresh and tasty. The cafe is ran by a lovely family who are all so friendly. The food is amazing 😃

This friendly little eaterie is hidden away on the edge of the town centre in Churchgate. It offers quite a simple menu in simple surroundings but the food is excellent. The friendly owners use fresh local ingredients to produce a real Greek experience. The Gyros really is the best I have tasted outside Greece.Well recommended.

Absolutely amazing food! I can not highly recommend this place enough! Small family run business that have done an awesome of brining fresh delicious food to the small town of bolton! The food is always fresh & hot, the staff are so friendly and polite and couldn’t be more helpful if they tried. If you are in Bolton and want lovely food with a lovely atmosphere, then this is definitely the place to come! :)

Called in here with my wife after a matinee show at the octagon the food was as good as usual and the staff extremely helpful it's a great place to come if you like Greek food although they do other things the prices are extremely modest

Visited today with my husband for lunch. Menu is small, but enough choice. Food is fresh and cooked to order. Portions are generous, and very reasonably priced. Will visit again.

We called last Friday for lunch. And as advertised, it really is a Taste of Greece! We both enjoyed our food and it was good value. You may have to be patient depending when you go,because it's very popular.

We had visited that cafe with some of my friends for lunch, food was tasty but service was slow and we had to wait gong time.

Visited for the first time today with a friend and her little girl. Sat outside in the sunshine we both ordered a yeros meal (pictured) It cost £6 and it was enormous! Lovely little place on churchgate in bolton. The menu hasn’t got a massive selection, but the food they do have is amazing . Very tasty , choices of Greek beer and spirts askin avalaible .

Great little place handily situated with advantage of outside seating area, tried first time this week very good Greek salad & pita bread small but interesting range of Greek beers partner had a chicken yeros which again was very good head and shoulders above any other in its price range

Called here on a Friday evening following many recommendations. We chose the Yeros meal deal, Chicken and salad pitta, with a portion of chips and a side salad plus a drink. Absolute bargain, freshly made and really tasty. Definately be returning very soon.

This is a great little place to enjoy quick, healthy, good value food. Although there is not a big choice on the menu, it's all hot and fresh, which to me is more important that a larger menu where the food is less than adequate. We have eaten here now twice within a few weeks of each other.Ordered the chicken yeros and large glasses of wine.Although the drinks are a bit dear, the food is reasonable enough and the staff are lovely.I'm not convinced all the chicken is breast meat, but it's still lovely never the less and we will eat there again.Well done Taste of Greece

We come here every time we are in Bolton without fail and every single time the food is just incredible it really feels like you are in Greece.The owners are lovely and can not do enough for you.The food is really good value for what you get but to be honest you can not put a price on amazing Greek food.Everything is cooked fresh and I can not recommend this place enough to anyone.I saw a bad review on this place but I don’t know how you could not enjoy this gem of a place.Will look forward to visiting this place again soon.

Very impressed, small place , with a small menu. I guess when you have something that works you should stick to it, and I’m glad they have. Food was fresh, well seasoned and ridiculously good value. Service was great as well as quick. Will be returning soon.

I was expecting very high class food after seeing the restaurant top on the TripAdvisor. The service was better but food was very greasy and expensive. I will not be back.

After a lovely morning shopping with my daughter, we were stuck for somewhere to go and somehow ventured to a part of Bolton that we don’t normally go and came upon this little cafe. Being a rare sunny day, we sat outside and chose our meal. Not an extensive choice but what there was looked good. We both decided on grilled chicken in Greek pita bread with salad, fries and a drink. It was so fresh and tasty, we didn’t want it to end - and when we were eating it, we didn’t think it would. I could’ve eaten the bread on its own it was that good. Its only small so I’m hoping people don’t go as we won’t get in next time. A little gem I hope stays a bit hidden!

With my Other Half, who is VERY PICKY, and difficult to keep happy... We picked up a couple of gyros to go, late morning, and had coffees sat outside while we waited. It was one of those balmy spring days when the Bolton sky is so blue it could be Kefalonia, but actually you are sat looking at the Man and Scythe. Lovely coffee, nice caramel biscuit... comfy seats, clean tables, and 2 really tasty Gyros. What is not to like? Great value... our previous visit was in the evening... we had 2 Greekbeers while waiting for 2 Gyros... again lovely... Great value... This place is a winner!

I came across this place the other week thought I might try it when I got the chance, anyway wasn't disappointed,place clean and tidy. What I did like about it was the menu is short and simple and you weren't over faced with choice.Staff very friendly I order off the menu a yeros which consisted of a chicken and salad in a pitta, I know you have to wait a little while but hey this meal is cooked from scratched and its worth the wait it's so fresh and very filling would definitely recommend it Bolton's little gem .

A pleasure to see a family run business with really tasty food for a bargain price. Don't be put off by the size of the premises. It is clean, homely and the owners are friendly. Ignore going to the run of the mill chains. Recommended to go whenever you can.

I went here yesterday it was a good atmosphere friendly staff and most of all lovely fresh food and very reasonably priced I will most definitely look forward to going again the halloumi was 10/10.

We used to come here every week but haven't been in a while so decided to pay them a visit. We order a yeros with halloumi and it always comes very packed with everything. The flavours are amazing and it's as cheap as a happy meal. Amazing food, amazing value and amazing service. Definitely our favourite food :)

One of Bolton's little gems! We love this place and it always tastes so good.My partner loves his food and its the best he's tasted in Bolton. Its a little cafe with a minimalistic vibe but fantastic taste. Great value, taste, atmosphere and beers .

If you want to have a taste of a true gyro straight from Greece, that is the place to go. Authentic Greek food, in a very nice and cozy atmosphere, at great prices. The staff is very attentive. If you just want some Greek frappe or a Greek beer, it is a nice place to chill and relax. I have visited many times and never been disapointed.

Our first visit was not good, we ordered two English breakfast, we had to wait for our tea and coffee for 15 minuets & another 10 minuets later food, toast was very hard, I was very uncomfortable setting because staff were talking behind the counter in other language without asking us how was our food, very bad customer service.

A cracking little eaterie on Churchgate that me, my wife and daughter visited to sample the gyros.......... we were not disappointed.Excellent food and friendly staff, could have done with more tables and chairs but it isnt a Tardis and makes the best out of the room it has. Will definately return as the value for money and experience was fantastic.

Authentic gyros kebabs from Greece made by Greek people who make you feel like you are there, also great coffee and prices very reasonable. They are good people who run the place.

We have visited a Taste of Greece on a number of occasions and we absolutely love it,. The staff and management are so friendly and helpful...the food is absolutely gorgeous its all cooked freshly in front of you. Their prices are amazing for the quality of food...they could charge so much more and we would still buy from here as it it so good. We would highly recommended A Taste of Greece to anyone..it is by far the best place to eat in Bolton whether inside the cafe or as a takeaway.

I was working in Bolton, and have a Greek wife so decided to eat here. On Monday I sat in the restaurant and was served by a very nice friendly lady. I had Gyros with chicken and another with the beef burger in. They were both amazing, really nicely cooked and a lot of meat and chips in.It was so good I went back on Wednesday but was pushed for time for called ahead and collected for a takeaway. This time there was less meat and hardly any chips in. Still tasted great but wish there has been more meat filling and less salad in it. I’d still recommend trying the food here, but sit in rather than take away!

My partner and I visited this cafe for a bit of lunch today after looking at the menu in the window it seemed a little disappointing however how wrong I was, we went in and sat in the window to be greeted by really friendly staff decided to order 1 halloumi yros meal and 1 burger yros meal, all i can say is WOW they were amazing, freshly cooked to order with loads of filling on both. The portions were huge with a massive side of fries and a greek salad (which was also delicious) plus a drink...... for £6.00 each I for one will be back. Hopefully they can survive charging these prices

I popped in for the first time tonight , an absolutely splendid little taverna, top food , great service and nice people .. Excellent .... just opposite the Man 'n' Scythe ...

Took my partner here who has never eaten Greek food before so thought it would be a great introduction to the cuisine.She was absolutely bowled over by the food but I think I've created a monster as shes constantly pestering "when are we going back?".All the food was missing would be a glass or two of retsina and it would have been complete.Try it, you wont be disappointed
