Taste of China in Wakefield

Best chineese in Normanton amd area. My favourite is combo box. Black pepper is second in lane.

I ordered on just eat at 1954 and was told an estimated delivery time of 2055 to 2115. The delivery had still not arrived by 2135, so I called and the staff had stated that because I live "far" 10 minutes it would take longer to come. They then stated it was on its way. I called again at 2230 and they said it was still on its way. It is now 2316 and I'm still sat waiting. It's safe to say we will not be ordering again anytime soon.

Waited over an hour for our order, and called only to be told it’s only being made. Should have just gone with our usual place. Maybe put a note advising to order 2-3 hours before meal intended.

Food took 2 hours, was cold and chicken was raw definitely will never eat here again please avoid!!!!❗️❗️

Waited an hour for food , Singapore vermicelli awful. smells of FEET, tastes horrible. chips were okay I suppose. makes me feel sick tho and not salted at all

The best Chinese takeaway in West Yorkshire! I have been to various Chinese takeaways in Leeds, Pontefract and Wakefield, but even at 20 miles away, I ALWAYS come back to this one! Gilbert is always happy and full of positivity, but most importantly the FOOD is consistently great every single time! The salt and pepper chips are perfect, not curried like most others. Crispy shredded beef is actually crispy, and I strongly recommend the Singaporean Vermicelli. Flavours are always on point here, but the portions I find are very generous as well. Great value for money, and after nearly 10 years, they have never disappointed me and the family. HUGELY RECOMMENDED!

Ordered food at 5:40. Now currently 8:48. Waited 3 hours for the damn food for them to say to come and collect to get there and be told it’s out for delivery. To ring them back and to hear them say it’s just on now. Absolutely ridiculous. Refused money back. Disgusting service.

3 hours waiting and still no food phone constantly engaged don't order from here

Took an hour and a half to arrive. When it did arrive we were missing 2 dishes. Tried to ring them up and then kept hanging up my calls so I couldn’t get through. Really disappointing!

All of the soups had an issue, tom yum was actually not a tom yum. Sweet corn and crab meat is a joke, it is not crab meat these are crab sticks made from fish... not crab. Hot and and sour was fine. Cantonese rolls were ok. Nothing amazing. Delivery was good.

First time ordering from here, we picked up as they don't deliver to Pontefract and I'm so glad we did! Best Chinese I've ever had! Food was stunning! Had to try the noodle box. Absolutely delicious... food was still nice and hot by the time we got home. Will definitely be ordering again. 10/10 🫶

Absolute disgrace. Ordered roast chicken, chips and gravy. Drove 20 minutes. Got home to find a dry fried piece of chicken with no gravy. What a waste of time and money. Who sticks a 1/4 roast chicken in a fryer. The bin had a good feed!

Ordered couple of times and the food is always fresh and very tasty (especially chips), order delivered within 15 minutes. Will definitely order again and again. Thank you😀

Ordered special chow mein with mushroom rice, mushroom rice was spot on but the chow mein falls very short. A chow mein for me should have pork & beef pieces with vegetables & a good amount of sauce, what I got was a dry, non sauced, no vegetable, & no bloody meat except, the smallest chicken (only) bits, never going again. Then they wonder why they can't stay in business. Disappointed.

Used to be good but has gone downhill. Orders seem to take ages (hours) and turn up half cold. Food quality has gotten worse too. Gave them a few more chances but we'll be going elsewhere. Sorry.

Very tough ribs and not really salt and pepper just Bbq ribs with bland onions and pepper. Disappointing. Was good but why have you changed. Will order elsewhere you can't palm poor quality off.

I ordered sweet & sour prawns never had anything as awful batter was rock hard couldn't even cut it with a knife when I cracked it open prawns still had their tails on threw it away

Ordered food for me n friends. Food turned up but my order was missing. I rang n asked why. I have crohns n diabetes, so I asked for a specific order. When it didn't turn up I rang n the owner called me a liar. Refused to send me the order I asked for and then hung up on me.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!!!!! order half crispy duck at 19.27 not the hardest dish to knock up. Ordered online to be given a delivery of 38mins A hour later I ring to ask if we was going to receive the food to be told it’s on its way. (no sorry) 30 minutes later still io food, so ring back to be told the ticket as only just come off the machine (still no sorry) Then we are offered £2 off for the inconvenience but the food would be made and delivered when the driver returns. Still no apology just excuses!! Don’t do it!!

Waited almost 3 hours for delivery. Phoned the restaurant after waiting 2 hours and was told it was on the way. Finally got the delivery after a further 30 minutes and the food was cold.

Ordered my takeaway for 5.40pm, Arrived at 6.30 pm. Expected a partial refund due to the delay, but didn't get any. Customer service lacking.

Highly recommend take out from this place. Everything arrived hot and taste amazing. Only downside was you may have to wait a bit longer than they say but it's well worth it.

Not our usual Chinese we order from but it was absolutely fantastic... delivery set at an hour.... have waited over 2 from some others during lockdown and came 10 minutes early! Food was hot, tasty and plentiful... thoroughly recommend

Well we usually order Chinese food from 2 other takeaways in normanton tonight we tried taste of China dalefield Avenue for other reasons so so glad we did cant fault any of there services highly recommend taste of China dalefield Avenue well done taste of china would recommend salt and pepper ribs chicken balls and special curry mint well enjoyed thank u taste of china

The ribs where far over cooked and the chicken was to hard like a brick the gravy was like paste chould use as cement the chips where ok I guess who but can't make chips

Really like the food from here, I don't know how they make their food stay so hot but it's always red hot when it comes any time that I've ordered. Staff are pleasant, prompt delivery. The only issue I have with them is that they never have just eat turned on which is really annoying!! Or it would have been 5 stars

I went in to order food, the wait was far too long. The order was wrong, and the prices were way too high for the quality of the food. I would definitely not recommend going here. I will not be ordering again

Been going to Taste Of China now for a good 2 years (every weekend) and never had a bad dish , food fresh and is hot plus delivery is fast by a friendly and very well mannered young man , I would recommend this take away" highly" ***** from me , keep up the good job Taste of China

Food is always good but on Just Eat it's never open or available to place orders. Really frustrating....

Top notch Chinese Everything tastes fresh, the portion size is generous, and as a rule the deliveries are pretty prompt. Very good!
