Holiday Inn Leeds - Wakefield M1, JCT.40, an IHG Hotel in Wakefield

Booked a premium room, but it felt below average—old and not worth the price. The only plus is the convenient location near the motorway. Staff wasn’t welcoming either.

Disappointed, on the lower end of Holiday Inn’s. Nothing special, restaurant service good but food took ages to arrive and it wasn’t the best tasting meal. Room was tiny. No on-site gym facilities. Ok for 1 night.

Ridiculously loud music from a christmas party until 12.45am. No consideration for residents trying to sleep. No forewarning or apology either.

Perfectly fine Holiday Inn, but rather than trying to be a hotel has decided to focus on becoming a night club. Hosting a Christmas party to make revenue, which clearly is far more important than paying guests. Impossible to sleep in this hotel when music is playing so loudly from the DJ in reception at 1am at the morning. No warning provided. Avoid this hotel at all costs ⚠️, and this is coming from a IHG Gold member!! Just shocking.

very poor service, unreasonable check in times, booked on day of stay as weather was very unsafe to drive in, Was told couldn’t check in till 3PM, Absolutely fuming!

What an amazing team, Ash, Bex, Ellie, Georgia, the lads (sorry my memory is a bit pants, Harry & James I think) all of you are brilliant, including the reception staff. So friendly and helpful. They really do go above and beyond. I will definitely pop by when passing to say hi once we’ve finished training. Cheers guys

Looks like an 1980s workman's club from the outside but very modern and clean throughout the inside, and I can't really fault the hotel. Food was decent (dinner and breakfast) and drinks were reasonably priced. We stayed here and popped to Wakefield for a night out so we were not in the hotel for long. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're planning a night out in Wakefield.

Been upgraded since our last visited! Well done in creating a more accessible bar and resteraunt area! Very engaging staff and enjoyed breakfast.

What a lovely place, the staff are absolutely amazing!!! Super friendly and helpful, I have been working away and using these hotels for 11 years and I have to say this is the best breakfast I have ever had!!! Thank you Bex for your help with my coffee accident 🤦 Well done! 👍

Funnily enough. I worked here 30 years ago. The hotel has had a refurb and it's alot fresher look. And it appears better than the 3 stars it gets. Good hearty breakfast and decent bar area too.

Restaurant food is horrible and extremely overpriced. When mentioned to staff they said oh ok, took my food and walked away. No question of would I like anything else. Rooms weren’t very clean. If you turn on the shower too much, your bathroom floods.

Didn't stay overnight but used the conference area. Hotel doesn't look much from the outside but it is clear that it has had a refit inside. Very modern feeling.

Great place for a meeting, lovely food and service

Room was too small and very beaten up. There was a lot of noise. Stay at the premier inn next time cheaper and better!

Excellent service from staff in restaurant and bar . Breakfast was also excellent. Let down by staff in reception as a wedding disco went on till 1230 and no apology was given or anything done. Luckily had ear plugs .

The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, loads of choice and enjoyable. The location was just right for us. Had a great stay!

Usual HiE standard, close to Leeds centre...business trip

Beware of rip-offs!!!! The hotel charges a parking fee, but you have to register the license plate separately on a tablet (as requested later on the phone). Otherwise you will be charged a parking fee of £100 plus £40 from the car rental company (for 15 hours of parking). This is not pointed out to you at the reception!!!! It is also not enough for the reception staff to write down the vehicle registration number.

Perfect work stop over, great location super close to the motorway but not noisy. Hired a room for interviews, great location and friendly staff. Comfortable room. Huge shout to Alex, who was running the conference rooms that day. Exceptional service, every conferencing service needs an Alex, thank you!

Staff here are lovely and friendly - for the most part. Recent renovation of the bar is good. The hotel is old and tired and this is reflected in the rooms. It’s also used a lot by energy or rail workers or similar so there can be a bit of noise in the corridors and bar. As the hotel is at the junction of a major motorway and main roads there can be a bit of noise from traffic too.
