Taste of Ceylon in Leicester

Please don’t get deceived for the 5-star rated comments. The atmosphere was awful and unclean. Nobody was there to take the order. After like 2 minutes a lady came up & asked another customer in Tamil why we were there. And he said to place an order. That lady couldn’t understand English and misunderstood our order 2 times. Finally that customer was telling us that these people are only doing take away orders. Toilet was out of order as you can see in the below picture. Seats were very dirty as you can see below. I don’t recommend anyone to go there unless you can talk Tamil and taking food away. Even then, I’m not sure about their food quality.

Amazing food!! Drove all the way from London for their food. Their lunch menu is a must try. Fresh warm and authentic Sri Lankan meal!

was not what expected at all, no chefs when the shop was open? would not recommend it at all

Very disappointing experience, we were expecting some nice Sri Lankan cuisine and instead were awkwardly greeted with a lack of food as everything we ordered they apparently ‘didn’t have’ and were denied of our order. The restaurant also lacked in attentiveness as there was a clear language barrier where the worker could not understand what we were asking. Overall, horrible experience and would not recommend unless you want to leave starving and disappointed. Absolutely no chefs present and very much dirty!

Was very disappointing definitely will not be returning they did not have any of the food available on the menu.

I will never be returning again wasted uber money to get there and back only for no food to be served from the menu due to no cooking staff available and the place was run down and dirty. There was also a language barrier between me and the one lady working there so communication and service was poor. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
