For takeaway I go here when two others are closed or not delivering, personally I'd cook all chicken dishes another 3 to 4 minutes

Food was generally good, a bit spicier than I expected. Not there problem of course. The rice was a bit oily though but otherwise was ok

Ordered salt and chilli spare ribs for £6.40, they come in a batter, like you would get in a chip shop. No where on the menu it mentioned they came in batter. I called to complain and asked for a replacement item or money back and was given neither. So I'm sat here still hungry because I threw the ribs in the bucket. Probably won't go back now. Disappointing as previous visits were good.

Always had a top tier tasty takeaway from here! Such great, efficient, speedy service, good options and mwah! I’d always recommend collection if you can

Favourite Chinese I’ve ordered from. They are usually very busy. Sometimes small army working in the kitchen. Think they just be doing something right! Very good food and fast, friendly service

This is always my go to for a Chinese 🇨🇳 takeaway, it’s without question the best on Slateford Road, the food is excellent, and the staff are always helpful if your looking to try something different to your usual order. 👍

Jolly good scran I have to say. The sweet n sour chicken is sooooo scrummy! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting an affordable and delicious meal. The staff on the phone were delightful as well! -1F1

The food is presented beautifully and tastes absolutely incredible! Doesn't get much better than this! The chicken is crispy, not soggy or dry; the sauces are a great consistency; the rice is fluffy; and the prawn toast isn't dried out at all, and comes with a lemon slice and amazing sauce! Takes a little while to arrive, but totally worth it for the price and quality... I'll definitely be ordering from here again!

Got battered king prawn with sweet an sour sauce? Prawns were not prawns totally straight and covered in thick bread batter stripped one off and looked like monkfish pieces tasted similar too? Had chicken fried rice before which was processed chicken bits on a carton of rice same as dominoes use on pizzas?? Terrible especially as prices don’t reflect cheap ingredients? Will never use again ? Prawn in batter are shaped like prawns and have prawns inside! Total rip off terrible especially when you take away to find rubbish for the cost

The pork chowmein was disgusting. Boiled vegetables thrown in with grey, fatty pork and some plain flavourless noodles. Vegetable spring rolls more like burnt mushroom spring rolls. Will never be ordering again. Worst Chinese ever.

i was a bit worried to order the chow mein after reading the reviews but wow I’m so glad I ordered it, it was so savory and delicious it really hit the spot. tender beef. also the salt and chilli chips were phenomenal and the curry sauce was outstanding

Got a take away tonight and the fried rice was disgusting!!! Very stodgy and no taste !!. It has definitely went downhill in the last couple of years ! Very disappointed !

Such a great place to eat. I became obsessed with their salt and chilli chips. The customer service is pleasant and the food is served at the speed of light.

Not happy with food chicken chow mein was so dry also tasted like it was cooked in a wok with rotten oil won’t be back!!

Well... I wasn't expecting that. First time at 'Taste Good'.. We'll be back. Very impressed.

Prawn toast - excellent, sweet and sour chicken - great, special curry - great, but whatever you do dont get the satay chicken - very watery, onions added to bulk it up, not a peanut in sight!

Just had chow mein which was tastless and overcooked. Salt and chilli chicken had a hair and chips were raw everything in bin unusual for here usually pretty good

Not many choice of quality takeaway around. Our fav one had closed this week. Food was 3/10. Quite an unpleasant experience. Had better quality nearby I wont mention. Not recommend

Got a takeaway right after the calcuta cup rugby match. Was served in a efficient manner by friendly happy staff. Didn't have very long to wait at all. Food was delicious. We had wafer wrapped prawns followed by beef, green pepper with black bean sauce and fried rice. Highly recommended.

I've been a customer for over 26 years and have always had excellent meals, travel through regularly from the West to get our favourites and the one and only best in scotland smoked shredded chicken and it's exactly the same from 199x thank goodness!!! Thank you for being able to continue to stay in business, we look forward to if/when sit in is available again....maybe one or two days a week??🌸

i asked for veggie spring rolls i bit into one and there was DUCK (i’m vegetarian and have been for 10 years) inside i went back to complain and they took my food and gave me the wrong order with no spring rolls and no compensation WILL NOT BE GOING BACK

Ordered food for collection just for one of the items to be messed up when I opened it up at home. Instead of Special Chow mein, I got Special fried rice. Upon phoning up the restaurant, didn't get any apology but was asked if I can bring it back and collect special chow mein. Again no apology was offered at the shop and the staff asked for the special fried rice to be returned which made me wonder if they'll be shifting it to another customer as well as if my original order was made to order? The food itself wasn't that great, too dry and tasteless. Definitely not for me, doubt I'll be going there again.

Not very impressed with this service, waited an hour for our food, yet when asked for an update we were told it would be another 25 minutes. It feels reasonable to say that is unacceptable timing for a delivery on a Thursday evening. Unfortunately, the food didn’t even make the wait worthwhile; heavily battered, cooked to the crisp dishes. Was hoping to find myself a new go-to place in Edinburgh for chinese food, this will not be our choice. I would recommend this place if you’re not hungry and have plenty of time to build up an appetite🙂

The shredded chicken in garlic and honey sauce is the best thing I've ever had from a Chinese!! Kung pao was not as thick and rich as I hoped but had a lot of veggies which I appreciated. I keep coming back for that shredded chicken, yum.

The Hong Kong BBQ meats (Siu Mei) have to be the best I ever tried in Edinburgh so far! The service was wonderful. A place to go of you want awesome Cantonese food! I recommend fully. I just hope soon they will open their restaurant dining area soon 🙏

Nice food, for a competitive price. Had the duck and pancakes, crispy chilli beef, prawn toast, and duck spring rolls. Everything was really good bar the spring rolls they just weren't it. That said recommend this place! Packaging was really good too! 🛑 FYI this place isn't a restaurant anymore. It's takeaway only. 🛑

A bit like aberdeen football club once was famous and amazing however mediocre at best. Last two times have been a complete let down so having to find another decent Chinese. The salt and pepper chips were top class and now soft, squidgy and ended up in the bin! First time I could ever say that.

Best Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh I would say, don’t think I’ve had better, got it delivered and usually comes pretty fast but last night took a while, hard to comment on atmosphere as only ever had it delivered but I’m sure it’s 5 star like the food. The Salt and Chilli chips are great, the Szechuan sauce is amazing, the crispy chilli is good, the prawn toast is the best I have ever had everything they do they do very well.

We recently had takeout from Taste Good. The reviews were good and thats why we decided to try it out, however the food was ok. The garlic chicken had a lot of vinegar so didn't taste pleasant. And the chicken itself was just a breaded breast piece cut into pieces and put over the gravy.. it was not what we expected. The prawn with babycorn and straw mushroom & the chowmein was ok. Could have been better. The service was good and on time,and the people are friendly.

I absolutely love the food here - been going to this restaurant from sit-in and takeaway for around 10 years, and never had a bad meal yet 🙌

Mostly amazing food, nothing ever forgot or missed when delivering but food can be below the normal excellent standard by being burnt (burnt noodles and meat) or can appear or taste like they've been rushed

I enjoyed my dinner but the crispy shredded beef was no where as hot as it should have been when it was served to me as I tried a bit in the car before I left and it was warm at best but I just microwaved it when I got home!

Sadly tonight’s meal was not as good. The peppers and onions were not really cooked / very hard. Taste was still good

First time using this place in years and I found A STONE in my chicken fried rice. Yes, you read that right, a stone, the kind of stone you'd find in your garden! Just about broke my tooth when I chewed my food! Put off for life now 🤮

Taste Good had been verified vegan for a long time, however suddenly the tofu, curry sauce, chips, even the mixed vegetables are no longer vegetarian at all. It was very, very good while it lasted and I'll miss their food & their incredibly friendly staff a lot.

Awful, rude delivery driver, arrived about half an hour earlier than the shown time, called once that went straight to voice mail then left. We called back and received a lecture from presumably the manager, blaming the customer for a poor job themselves, them told us to either cancel or wait another hour and 15 for the food. Won't be ordering again

Love the people and the food every time I go there. I discovered this place last year during my short stay in Edinburgh in late summer. Love all the Siu Mei and it is 100% similarity with what you get in Hong Kong. I am a big fan of this restaurant and will keep coming.

This is the only place we go to order roast duck, crispy pork and char sui. Every Chinese person should know the high quality food from Taste Good!

Walking about 2.1 miles, then they tell us BBQ duck is sold out. We can only order meals and some dishes. And we can’t eat here. So sad about that.

Great food - both authentic and LaoWai (read dishes that are really a western take on Chinese food). The decor in the downstairs seating area makes for an amazing ambiance but sadly it's been closed recently. Hope it reopens soon. For good but less authentic things try salt and chilli chips and sweat and sour chicken balls (or salt and chilli chicken balls going off menu) or lemon chicken. For authentic try some of their duck dishes and egg fried rice or hot pot/BBQ. Anyway a great place with nice staff and when sit in resumes it's a beautiful environment. Recommended.

As someone who’s tried every Chinese place in Edinburgh I can say that this is the one that has gone beyond my expectations. The food was amazing. 5 star restaurant. Will order again and again!

Good food in very reasonable price. The place has a variety of choices, something very handy for big group of people (football/movie nights). The deep fried options may come a bit greasy for some people but in general the vast majority of the options are good. You may want to get extra prawn chips for nibbling as they are very good.

It's very hard to find a good takeaway these days and having tried most in the gorgie/Slateford area thought I'd give this place a go.The meal was lovely and arrived very quickly with a very pleasant delivery driver.The only thing was that it was a little expensive,but tasty nonetheless.

Not my favourite to be honest. Portions small and chow mein dry also over powered with chilli's covering up the bland taste of the kung po. Won't be back.

Thursday night and the delivery time was over an hour. The food was decent but the veg was chunky and partially cooked which spoiled the meal a bit.

Second to none, they really "taste good". Roast duck "烧鸭" (Shaoya) is a must have dish.

I think I can remember this place opening over 20 years ago if not longer. We have never had a bad meal ever. Unfortunately live too far away now for delivery but every time we do have a chance we order from here. Absolutely beautiful food .
