Taste Deli Cafe in West Lothian

Very welcoming, homemade soup was delicious, gluten free catered for. Waitresses were very polite and attentive. Service was great.

I have been a customer of Taste Linlithgow for more than 10 years, travelling over 10 miles to visit. Today I was very disappointed with my breakfast. I ordered a bacon and egg roll but when it arrived I was unable to eat the bacon as it was very thick and tough and seemed very pale which I put down to it being under cooked. At first I thought that it was 3-4 slices stuck together but I was unable to separate them and was unable to eat it. On leaving I took the plate to the server and commented on the fact I was unable to eat the bacon. The comment from the kitchen as told by the waitress ‘ I have been told to tell you that; that is how the bacon comes and it’s not under cooked as it comes to us pre-cooked’. This thought of pre-cooked bacon has somewhat put me off but the main annoyance is that I did not even receive an apology, never mind any recompense. I usually always leave a tip but decided not to on this occasion as I believe the very least I should have had was an apology for my disappointment. It will be a while before I return but I am sure the management will not be bothered by one person choosing not to use their establishment, hence this review.

Previously visited Taste on several occasions when visiting Linlithgow and rated it highly. Sadly a recent visit was disappointing. A sandwich lunch and one small cup of very average coffee cost £25. When paying with card I was presented with a screen and asked to rate my experience. Given that the staff were very nice I rated it excellent and pressed the button only to realise too late this rewarded the staff a tip of £4. 95. This brought the total bill for a sandwich and coffee for two people to £29 95. Several other establishment have opened in Linlithgow and sadly I shall look elsewhere for my lunch when I return to Linlithgow.

Visited with a friend and a lovely wee cafe, great food with plenty choices and the staff were super friendly. Opted for the coronation chicken panini and friend have the special faijata wrap

Delightful deli/cafe with friendly welcoming owners and staff, The chicken Caesar salad was perfect - fresh with a tasty dressing and crispy bacon topping. Decent wines by the glass. Dog friendly. Highly recommended.

Popped in on the off-chance as the sign said dogs were allowed. So glad I did! The staff were all lovely and everything was so clean and welcoming. The service was excellent and really quick and my soup and sandwich were just what was needed for a November walk around Linlithgow Loch! It's a bit out of my way to become a regular, but I will definitely be back. 5 stars all round!

Lovley food, great service and an absolute lovley surprise to eat here. The portions were superb, the options were great, absolutely loved it.

Popped in here for a quick bite on a Friday afternoon. We were greeted with a smile and shown to a nice table. We both had tasty Lentil soup and half a sandwich, there was a good deal on this offer. Sandwich came with a small portion of crisps and salad leaves. The bowl of soup was large and sandwich delightful. Nice coffee and good selection of cakes. We will return next time in Linlithgow.

We had a sharing platter for two and a chicken sandwich, both of which were tasty. Unfortunately the website and menu in the cafe explicitly stated that a glass of wine is included with the platter but according to the staff this costs extra. Server was reluctant to correct this, and i notice its still stated on the website now. One server very friendly and one rather unenthusiastic.

Fabulous place for lunch. Varied menu and top quality produce. Soup delicious and perfect to have with a choice of half sandwich, generous salads and amazing cakes, well priced wine by the glass and really lovely staff. Highly recommended.
