Taste in West Lothian

Had come highly recommended by friends but was a little disappointing, some of us ordered soup with bread and the rest of us ordered soup with half sandwich, seemed expensive for what we had when paid bill including the teas and coffees and the cake from display. A shame wasn't a bit cheaper as otherwise would consider going back when next up. The only small thing is it was quite cold and noticed quite a number of people still wearing their coats in the cafe.

Got a table in front of the toilets . Glancing at the adjacent radiator revealed a disgusting mess inside. Never been cleaned for years by the look of it. Mentioned this to the staff who claimed to be unaware (genuinely). Poached egg was obviously fried.

Entered cafe at1535 as waitress was leaving. She said cafe would shut early at 1600 but ok for coffee and cakes. However staff stopped us entering as one of them had switched off the coffee machine. Needs change of management urgently. Dreadful example of Scottish hospitality

Very nice cafe and deli offering breakfast and lunch. Stopped for lunch and enjoyed a very good potato and leek soup and Prawn Marie Rose sandwich. Very cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Prices reasonable. Deli counter in front with a few tables, but most tables are in the back room. Small outdoor seating area. Family and dog friendly. Recommend.

Met up with friends from Hove and we were all impressed with the standard of friendliness and obliging service we were given . Food was excellent and the scones homemade. Very dog friendly. At the shop bit were an excellent array cheeses and local produce. All in all a very pleasurable experience and I'm glad I chose this place to entertain my guests.

Happened to pop in for cake and coffee and found it lovely , clean and helpful staff. A good place to visit snd will do do again for more food.

Efter att ha landat i Edinburgh ett par timmar tidigare var det dags att få lite i magen. Vi ramlade på Tast och gick in för att kunna sitta ner och äta. Vi blev varmt mottagna och visades in till ett trevligt bord. Vi beställde 2 getostsallad, 1 lasagne och 1 kyckling-bacon sandwich. Allt smakade hemlagat och utsökt. Alla råvaror verkade vara lokala. Portionerna var väl tilltagna med mycket grönt. Servicen var vänlig och inte alls påträngande. Vi rekommenderar verkligen Taste.

Parfait pour grignoter un petit plat chaud ou un sandwich avant de repartir. Pas cher du tout. Très bien situé par rapport au chateau. Service rapide. Gâteaux maisons à se pamer.

Under new management again who is Joanna all she does is talk no work done! The breakfast is really good but staff sometime over talk! Ben before never had a problem hope things change.

My friends and I came here for tea and we were not impressed. We asked for the soup of the day, and when the waitress told us and we ordered it, she then said they had none left. Then, when my friend asked for fresh squeezed orange juice -- after the waitress said they had some -- she then said they were out. Even though we saw them making fresh squeezed orange juice. Guess the waitress was just lazy? We were also given no forks to eat the dessert we ordered. Honestly I probably could have liked this place if the service wasn't so horrible.

lovely place for breakfast or lunch. Food never disappoints. Scones are delicious as are the cakes and the haggis and cheese Panini is amazing

Vale la pena una paradita en este resto/bar. Tiene take away pero podes sentarte en unas mesitas que hay dentro al fondo. La atencion es super amable. La comida muy rica. La sopa estaba super.Recomiendo. Precios accesibles. Una sopa con medio sandwich y un sandwich ambos platos acompañados de ensalada papas fritas saladas muy bien servido una gaseosa y un vaso de agua 15 libras.

Party of 4, three having breakfast and 1 lunch. Menu options good and service polite and attentive. Food presented nicely and to a good standard, very enjoyable and satisfying. Only suggestion would be to buy larger coffee cups and offer free refills!!

Si buscáis algo rápido y rico para comer, este sitio es ideal. Yo tuve la oportunidad de probar las Jacket Potatoes y los paninis de Huggis con queso. ¡Muy rico todo!

Was in during the week and couldnt believe the prices of the food. Staff werent very professional and extremely unpolite, didnt have a care for the customers. Glass of juice is literally like a gulp and is most definetly not enough to wash down whatever you have just had to eat, also it is very over priced, not just for the food but the juice aswell. i was shocked at how good the reviews were.

リンリスゴーに行った時にランチで立ち寄りました。店内奥で食べれますが、ランチタイムにいったのでいっぱいで座れずに、テイクアウトしました。店員はフレンドリーでいろいろ要望を聞いてくれます。今回はサラダ（£2.95）パニーニ（£2.85）とカフェラテを注文。サラダはトッピングが選べます（今回はおすすめのツナ）パニーニも数種類から選べます。天気が良かったのでリスリスゴー宮殿の芝生にあるベンチで食べれて良かった

Having lived in Linlithgow now for 4 years I never worked out that there is a nice cafe and seating area at the back until I walked past a sign today.So went in for lunch, staff smiles and friendly. Quick service. Food was freshly cooked and very nice. I felt compared to others it was a little expensive for some items but cheaper for others. So overall nice seating area, good staff and good food.

This place is so welcoming, the staff are so friendly and the wifi is fast. There is alot of food and drinks to choose from and all made to high standards

Popped into Taste with some friends for lunch. We wanted to try somewhere different and thought the cafe/deli looked really welcoming.When you enter you are faced with a lovely traditional deli, lots of different choices of hand, meats, cheeses and deli options. There was something different for meat and vegetarian lovers alike!We were seated as soon as we went into the cafe and had our order taken within 10 minutes, even although the place was mobbed. I had the special, meatball melt, and my friend had the chicken ceasar salad. Both were beautifully presented and stacked full of flavour! The staff were attentive without being intrusive and the general feel of the cafe was both lively and friendly. I often don't bother eating out much these days as feel the service and food are just average, but Taste seemed to tick all the boxes!We will definately visit again when in Linlithgow!
