Absolutamente fantástico lugar. El personal no podría ser más servicial, la comida fantástica y gran ambiente. Reservamos McQs para una sorpresa fiesta número 50 para mi marido que es originario de Stirling (ahora vivimos en Liverpool). McQs fue increíble de principio a fin. Los huéspedes comentaron lo encantador que era el buffet, y el alquiler de funciones, etc es increíblemente razonable, especialmente teniendo en cuenta el excelente servicio y la calidad de la comida. Estoy deseando mi próxima visita a Stirling para ir aquí a almorzar. ¡Su pastel de carne está destinado a ser increíble! Gracias de nuevo que gran lugar para todo el mundo.

Local patrons were as friendly as the staff. We enjoyed our visit and the steak pie was top notch. Highly recommend.

Fuimos a comer el día de Navidad con la familia y amigos , primera vez que salimos el día de Navidad a cenar y todos lo disfrutamos tanto así que vamos a volver este año , la comida estaba deliciosa y sobradamente de ella , fue servida por un personal encantador y servida a un ritmo relajado , Sandra incluso hizo una visita , también hubo juegos para los niños , bien hecho a todos los involucrados en entregar una gran experiencia

El gerente no tiene servicio al cliente no me dejó tomar mi servicio perro señaló a mi madre no vaya fue tan grosero muy irrespetuoso

Actually, this is such a lovely, cozy and homely wee place (the tartan arms) to have a family munch. I since tried to book for Xmas din dins but its fully booked. Not surprised. Very good. Impressed. These type of places are more rare these days. We will book early for next Xmas. All the best x

Para empezar, me encanta estar aquí, he estado yendo desde que era un chico. Desafortunadamente en los últimos años, la comida se fue cuesta abajo. Pan rancio, sopa insípida, papas fritas empapadas. El personal es agradable y me gusta el ambiente, pero lamentablemente no puedo recomendarlo en su estado actual.

We come here often with our grandson he loves the kids hot dog meal . We love the food also.

Very cosy, friendly ,pub restaurant. Traditional decor and comfortable booths . The blackboard specials are always a treat. The menu offers traditional, pasta ,Mexican style. Children's menu too. Nothing too much trouble for staff. So accommodating.

Fish and chips very nice and steak pie. Nice friendly atmosphere. Very clean and comfy with good decor. It's quite large pub with public and lounge bars. It stretches right back, which you wouldn't realise as, from the front, it looks really small.

Ideal para una cena familiar fácil. Quería probar el restaurante para poder recomendarlo con precisión a mis huéspedes. Llevé a mi hijo, hija - en la ley - y nieta de 3 años, para obtener un buen cruce de opiniones! Es comida típica de pub, pastel de carne, scampi y macarrones. Seguido de pastel de manzana caramelo, natillas y lo más importante helado de fresa con un copo para la persona pequeña! Todos recibieron una gran aprobación. Sin duda entrega y por un precio muy razonable.

Llamamos para el almuerzo en nuestro camino a las Highlands el personal era tan acogedor e incluso proporcionó un tazón de agua para nuestro perro. La comida era excelente todo servido en tubería caliente. Definitivamente vamos a llamar en nuestro camino de regreso a Carlsle. Qué joya es este lugar.

Been a few years since I've been at McQs and didn't disappoint. Food was good and service quick and friendly. Reasonably priced as well

Consiglio di modificare gli orari di apertura, perché risulta aperto fino alle 23 ma noi siamo arrivati alle 19.40 e non abbiamo potuto cenare (la cucina chiude alle 19.00). Non è l'unico: in molti pub e ristoranti funziona così in Scozia. A maggior ragione andrebbe specificato sempre.

Staff are all lovely and most of the other customers are fantastic and full of banter. Very friendly and welcoming. Food is great, they have loads of veggie options and will tweak meals to suit.

Absolutely taken by surprise by this place in the most pleasant way. Lovely atmosphere, quality food and great service at a very reasonable price. A telling fact was how busy it was in midweek. Really happy we stopped by.

What can I say 5 stars across the board. The service was very efficient and quick. The food was brilliant and very tasty. The atmosphere was just as u would expect a traditional eaterie to have. Lots of people in having lunch. It was a busy place and our first time in there. We will be back, tho. Well done to all the staff out front and behind the scenes on the work u all do to make The Tartan Arms & McQ's such a welcoming place to stop off for a drink or something to eat.

On rute to Penicuik where we had the hotel we stoped based on the reviews and honestly the restaurant didn’t disappoint. The food, the service and the prices were very good. Highly recomand this place.

An impromptu drop in for dinner en route home, did phone ahead tho just to make sure could be fitted in which they did but only just. Arrived & shown to table, place was pretty busy with a couple larger parties in. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff & good selection of dishes on offer along with some specials. I had the gammon steak which was really tasty & husband the steak pie. We both enjoyed our meals & the apple pie to follow - all reasonably priced. Would go again if passing by.

The simple burger and chips was tastless and dry. The chips were pale and undercooked. Not exactly hard to get that right. Got moved from our seat ( which wasn't reserved) because a regular on a Sunday always sits there! 😅 Avoid if possible!

Went for lunch had the Xmas special which was turkey dinner the turkey was very dry the frozen vegetables were cold the Brussels were disgusting under cooked pigs in blankets and don’t know even how to discribe the round pale sausage meat worse meal I have had in my whole life. Forgot to mention the potatoes which I asked are they roasted and was told yes but no I got boiled baby potatoes with skin on. Do not spoil your Xmas by eating this meal absolutely shocking.

I liked the venue and the food was good. It seemed busy for a midweek lunchtime, which is good, and we were served quickly, and our food arrived promptly. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

First time going to this establishment and I'm pleased to say it won't be the last time. Went for lunch with family. We all enjoyed our food, great size portions and everything is brilliantly priced. Staff were accommodating, friendly and efficient. Best to reserve a table as it was busy. You'll have a great meal. I can't wait to return.

Not our first visit to the Tartan Arms and as usual the food and service was excellent. Prices are very reasonable. If you are in the area I would recommend this restaurant.

From arriving at McQs I met a few friends outside was just simply chatting away , completely sober as I went to go get a drink, the owner of this bar refused to serve me , obviously I questioned why. This was for no other reason than I am a local at the empire bar in bannockburn. As a regular diner customer I found this a form of discrimination as I was refused drink for no other reason than having a drink in the empire on other occasions. As from now i won’t set foot in there again and will not be recommending again.

We were regulars of mcques but the past twice have been poor. We won't be returning. I got the special cod which was absolutely tiny. My mother's lasagne was burnt, very disappointing.

My family and I were staying at a local caravan site we searched local pubs offering grub. The Tartan Arms and Mcqs came highly recommended. We had an amazing night, food was 10/10 service was 10/10. You will love it.

This Restaurant is Amazing, the restaurant is amazing because they had excellent service, great food and lovely staff, also the starter that I had when I went was the Garlic Mushrooms with the Garlic Mayonnaise, this was lovely because the mushroom had been well cooked and the Garlic Mayonnaise went very well with them, also to add the main was brilliant, I had the roast dinner and the mash didn't have any lumps in it which was great, the Roast beef was lovely and soft not chewy and the veg was simply brilliant, and the dessert was very nice, I had a mint choc chip ice cream bomb with chocolate sauce over the top and the chocolate over the ice cream was good including the sauce and the Ice cream, The staff were very nice when we were there and was appreciative of us being there at the time, they are very funny, and also to add for the football fans if you were to go there they have the premier league, Scottish league too, but overall the service, food and price value was outstanding

Food was very good, and the staff were amazing. Taking out my friend who is disabled, the staff ensured we got seating to suit his needs! They were very friendly.

After a few misunderstandings with our order, all was well afterwards. Staff attentive and willing to assist. Chicken stuffed with haggis, very tasty and a huge portion!

The lentil soup is a local institution, as is the steak pie. One of our favourite destinations for a family lunch. Some of the dishes are available in half portions. Reasonably priced, booking recommended.

Very friendly staff and great choice of drinks

Prebooked table. On arrival we were shown to the tiniest table. Staff were professional, pleasant and helpful. I had steak pie and my friend had texan chicken melt. The plates took up the whole table. No room for cutlery at the side. The beef with the steak pie was lovely, the pastry was flat with no crispness, peas were hard (not birds eye brand) and carrots had a 'tinned' texture. The chips were nice. There was very little chicken in the Texan melt however it was very very tasty. I would recommend the steak pie and chips but no veg.

I have ate in McQues for many years. The portion sizes have been ridiculously cut, I dread to think what a half portion may look like now. Dreadful. I had steak pie and my Daughter had macaroni, I could count around 12 chips on the plate. Very poor.

For £47 we as a group were so disappointed with the meal given to us at the party night, not good at all Very small and not the usual standard I have had in here before, all of us felt the same! The disco and band and service was good But if you are going to charge this prices you need to make this better

First time here today and omg I was not disappointed had potato skins which were absolutely delicious, then I had steak pie, what can I say that is the best steak pie I have ever had, compliments to the chef, staff are friendly to, I would highly recommend this place, I will certainly be back, if going book in advance as this place is so busy which doesn't surprise me

Following the recommendations of our host at Hillhead Farm we’ve down in this pub and have enjoyed our time. Great food, nice staff it was pure dead brilliant! Let’s go and enjoyed like us.

Meat pie was fantastic. Cute little place. Liked the ambiance. Server was very friendly and helpful.

Returned with family for a meal which was excellent as always. I was surprised and delighted by the quality and range available on the wine list, the wines provided are fantastic and not what expected to find in a village pub! Better wines and selection than some much fancier and pricier places. Well done and kudos to the sommelier 👍.

This place has gone DOWNHILL over the past few years. Our meal was less than mediocre and the service was not at all friendly or accommodating. I hope they can turn it around quick, because I really want this place to survive. It has a ton of history.
