Love this place. Always a treat to come here. The staff are professional. Welcoming and attend to your every need! We've stayed over, had several afternoon teas (vegan also) and hosted my mums 70th in a private room. The library is a lovely room for afternoon tea. Definitely worth a visit.

Was staying as part of wedding party. Booked table for 7.30, meal didn't arrive until 9.05, considering the restaurant only had 3 other diners, my 10 year old lost appetite when meal came. £116 wasn't worth the wait.

I don’t think Iv ever left a review but this one was a must! We couldn’t find a menu online so we phoned ahead to ask if there was one online , we were told there wasn’t one but she kindly took our email address and forwarded one over. On arriving we were lead through to a beautiful dining room by our waiter (we didn’t pick up his name) who made our visit perfect. We were served some beautiful warm bread with butter and water for the table which is always a nice touch when ur with child and hungry lol. My partner and myself both wanted fish and chips which was listed on the email but when the menu was brought out to us fish and chips wasn’t on it so when our waiter came over to take our orders we politely asked why and he told us that it wouldn’t be a problem for the chef to whip that up for us. It took about 10 minutes for it to come out and it was absolutely beautiful, the fish was so fresh, the batter was perfect, the chips were amazing and so was the tartare sauce 10/10! We ordered the cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, the presentation was outstanding and the taste was to die for. We didn’t find it too expensive for what we got £68 for 4 dishes and 2 drinks. We have paid much more elsewhere for terrible service and food so we would definitely recommend it and next time visit Aberdeen we will definitely be returning! Thanks again Tapestry, keep up the good work

This hotel restaurant oozes with character being in a 100 yr old Building. We enjoyed the sea trout on the first night of our stay. There was a limited choice of desert.

I couldn't fault the food or the service it was beautiful. I was surprised we were in a side room off the restaurant when my husband had booked it for a surprise, the main beautifully decorated room was full when we arrived and I know the other family hadn't booked so it looked like we had been found tables through the back. Anyway I had steak and it was perfect with loads of well seasoned fries, I enjoyed it very much and the waiter who has served us in the bar was friendly, polite and attentive

We were staying at the hotel so may be swayed by bias of convenience but we had a wonderful night. Very enjoyable meal. I had the goats cheese and steak and husband and terrine and pork. Was really yummy we were both sharing everything so as to taste everything. Even shared a dessert! Which we shouldn’t have done we were so full. I would go back again if I was in the area even if not staying at the hotel. Once in a lifetime chance to dine in a building like that. Really takes you back in time!

Staying in the hotel we had a set menu dinner included in our rate. Food was excellent, great service and good wine list. Dining room very elegant although very warm. We had to change table twice due to heat from open fire then radiator. Had breakfast the following morning and again excellent.

If you fancy dining out in a traditional 19th century country house atmosphere surrounded by magnificent period architecture and antiques, the Tapestry Restaurant at Norwood Hall Hotel will amaze you. Congratulations to Macdonald Hotels for not updating this period gem. It is unique in Aberdeen, which is not renowned for preserving its heritage buildings! Service upon arrival was efficient and courteous. The Menu is not extensive but provides a good range of locally sourced produce. I ordered a chunky Beef Fillet which was very tasty with the accompanying jus and selection of vegetables. My wife enjoyed Sea Trout, nicely presented with a selection of vegetables. The Wine List is perhaps a little limited, especially in terms of their 'By The Glass' offering, but the range is certainly comprehensive and we had no problem making our selection. We finished our evening with coffee in The Georgian Bar, again with wonderful period features which will have you checking out the richly decorated walls and ceiling, rather than the other patrons! A lovely experience, and one we can strongly recommend. We'll be back for more!

4 of us ate in the restaurant. One of us did not want a starter, but asked about bread. we were told it would be at the table. It never emerged. The starters of haggis and black pudding were in fried balls, so didn't really do either justice. The main fillet steak was ok, as was the lamb shank. The fish dish managed to be a bit tasteless and the crab in potato was not to our taste. The chicken dish was the best. The malbec was drinkable but that was it. The colleague who had 3 courses and one glass of malbec (fillet steak too) needed up with a personal bill of £60ish. Really not worth it. I had decaf coffee to finish, but as i couldn't sleep at all that night - very unlike me - I had suspicions that it wasn't decaf.

The place is beautiful: nice antique decoration in a palace-style building. Shame the food is boring and the service is disastrous. Not rude - in fact most are polite - but just very unprofessional. Tonight they managed to have my wife's starter and my main dish wrong. The bottled water arrived warm and with no ice and the bill with incorrect items. Disappointing this is not the first time it happens. It is really time to re-train chefs and waiting staff.

We had a meal here last week andit was the nicest meal that we have had in Aberdeen. Service was great throughout the meal, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. My partner asked the waitress about a particular feature of the room and she had obviously taken the time to learn about the building as she happily explained what it was nad its original function. The food was to do for, both had the mixed seafood cocktail and the pieces of crab, lobster and prawns were all full size and sauce was lovely. I had the lamb chump, and partner had the chicken and both were delicious. Cheese board and ice cream desserts were equaly good. All were sourced from local suppliers. Coffee and delicious chocolates taken relaxing in the lounge rounded off an all rounf great evening. One of those places that is not cheap (3 courses, drinks and bottle of wine came to £115), but you leave feeling that you definitelu got value for money. We will return.

Had a mediocre meal with my wife, and there was a wedding on which was fine until the band or dj had to carry their equipment right through the foyer past where we were eating, I've never seen anything like it, also to add to this when we ordered a taxi it could not get to the door as the road was coned off, the manageress needs a course in people skills. Will not be back far to dear for a weak service

Had 3 course meal. Salmon for starter- very nice but portion a bit on the small side. Main course was steak burger @ £17, and was most disappointing part of the meal - you would get better at frankie and bennys. Finished with cheese platter which was fantastic but too much for one person. Service was excellent but restaurant too hot (as was the whole hotel). Another problem common in many restaurants is the lack of lighting which makes it almost impossible for someone with less than perfect eyesight to read the menu - a problem when you dine alone as you don't have your wife or partner to help.
