Visiting over this way and we fancied some fish and chips, this is the local and it's lovely to visit! Staff were smiling and friendly, great business supporting the younger generation getting into work. Food is made to order but worth the extra wait time. They are only cash just like many other small local shops, so don't forget to visit the cash machine in the co-op up the road first 😊 We had large chips, steak pie, chip bap and a fish cake, I popped the fishcake in the chip bap and it was perfect! All great food and high standards. All packaging is also recyclable which is an added bonus, and don't forget to bring a bag or ask for one when you order otherwise you'll be like me carrying it under your chin up the hill 😂

Visited on holiday. Two people in front but had to wait 30 minutes for order. Food was lovely. Fish really thick and chips tasty. Food is cooked to order so just be prepared to wait.

Ordered cheese burgers. Received plain burgers! Really?? Not the first time for mistakes, but definitely the.last!!

40 minute wait for 2 lots of fish and chips when there was only one customer in there before us. Didn't ask me if I wanted salt & vinegar, just put it onto my fish and chips. When challenged I was told that it was my fault that they didn't bother to ask if I wanted them. Waste of £10 and wasn't offered a replacement or refund. Avoid!

Unfortunately the food was substandard at best, the sausage was not fresh it appeared to be a precooked sausage dropped in batter, this resulted in the inside drying out and it not being fit to consume. The chips were under cooked and hard and lacked taste again ruining the meal. My children had the kids meals which unfortunately suffered the same fate as my meal, the nuggets were not pleasant and my children did not eat them. The chips were also not great. The facility did not have a clean feel either which always puts an error of doubt in your mind, having spoken with family members I was informed they now purchase else where due to the drop in quality.

Fantastic chips and beautiful cheese and onion pasty. No soggy chips or pastry- some of the best I've tasted. As a vegetarian the Tap Hill has plenty of options, and though I wouldnt have it the fish looked great.

Not great chips. More like frozen oven chips that were deep fried. Hopefully mine was an isolated case.

Brilliant quality and great staff! Served quickly, didn’t need to wait long. And for any vegetarians I highly recommend the veggie wrap!! Sublime.

The chips here are lovely. Crunchy outside and fluffy inside. Cooked to perfection

Ordered large chips , half the size of other chip shops ...chips were over cooked and half not edible .. Fish was very poor

They do a good selection of food, not just fish and chips. The food is good though not great but if you want better then you would need to travel into Plymouth. It's possible to park just around the corner. Overall a very good fish n chip shop considering the location and that they have no competition. They could just provide standard food but they do better.
