Tao's is an incredible dining spot! I had an amazing experience there. Their salt and pepper wings are absolutely fantastic – crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The pad thai is equally impressive, with a perfect balance of flavors and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a place with great food and excellent service, Tao's is definitely worth a visit!

Visited Taos Restaurant in Prestwich and was really impressed! The Pad Thai was absolutely delicious – one of the best I've had. The flavors were spot on and the portion size was perfect. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were very friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Food was eatable but clearly precooked and microwaved! Ordered 4 meals, starters, rice, noodles and salt and pepper chips all to come out at the same time. Food was all on the table in less than 5 minutes. I made a point of walking past the kitchen and looking through the window to see 1 chef in a hoodie and body warmer utilising “chef Mike”. I didn’t complain at the time as this would have ruined our family celebration and out of respect to the other tables eating. I did call back afterwards and spoke to the manager who told me everything was cooked fresh from scratch and that they had special gas to cook faster as well as having 3 chefs in the kitchen? Chicken alone would take 5-6 minutes to cook never mind ribs, beef, chips ect… I appreciate side orders such as rice and noodles would be pre-made but the price does not by any means reflect the quality of food!! On a separate note they also try to con you when ordering drinks. One of my guests ordered an amoretto and coke. The waitress advised it was £8 for a single or £10 for a double. Only ordering a single I was surprised when the bill only showed £5. Clearly they bank on people thinking they are getting a “deal” by doubling up when clearly there is no benefit and the staff are obviously trained to mislead and manipulate guests. WOULD NOT GO BACK IF THE MEAL WAS FREE…. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE VALUE FOR MONEY, SERVICE AND FORGETTABLE FOOD. Give it a wide birth!!!!

We only found this place when visiting Osma and so glad we did, cannot fault the price so reasonable. We had the set meal for 2 and didn’t need to change anything, all dishes were piping hot and very tasty. Restaurant atmosphere lovely and staff were faultless, very friendly and attentive. Absolutely recommend and without a doubt returning. I’m not really a sweet and sour lover but couldn’t stop eating it 😟 that was a dish we was going to change and so glad we didn’t

We visited here today for my 66th birthday, and quite frankly am confused by the negative comments. It was clean, had a nice atmosphere and pleasant and helpful staff who were happy to provide containers at the end to take home. The food is good, served hot, and we will definitely return. If you wish to experience the absolute opposite try the TCB Bury - Im sure the people providing negative comments about Taos will soon change their tune, the place is a nightmare.

Booked to go Saturday night, not busy yet i ordered a chicken ginger spring onions, no ginger to be seen ,beef dish lwarm , rice went back it was cold disappointing meal .no complimentary prawn crackers any more or no after eights or mints with the bill

Booked a table for 2 for Saturday night. A lovely warm welcome. It was busy but the service was still friendly professional and timely. Had tempura prawns and scallops, then a rest until we were ready. Had sea bass and fillet steak satay and Chinese veg. Fabulous food. A few wines too. Lovely night. Will be back soon. The evening started by the server insisting that my booking did not include requesting a round table but eventually allowed this even though only three tables being used.then the server was quite arrogant when we were asking her to explain the set menu's.we asked for two separate bills which she clearly wasn't happy with.when the bill came my sister in law was overcharged by £11 this was questioned and we received a barrage of insults saying she'd knock it off this time but not next.well there won't be a next disgraceful

We all had a wonderful evening at Tao's, the food was delicious with good sized portions. The only downside was having to wait far too long for the food and as we were near the front door we could see a steady flow of deliveroo drivers so it was clear they took priority.

From the second that we walked in we were made to feel welcomed. Food is excellent (good portion size, we took some home as we couldn't finish it). Good value, good atmosphere, this is a little treasure in Prestwich and we will be back.

Seems to be under new ownership. Food is still pretty good but the old furnishings and draughty atmosphere, alongside the less than friendly service mean there are much better local options. Given it’s quite expensive we’ll probably use places like Number 8 down the road in Whitefield which has a far better ambience and atmosphere and much friendlier staff at a similar price point.

Disgusting rude service by the same rude young girl who is referred to in other reviews. She needs training in customer service. She’s acts like a spoilt brat if you dare to complain about anything and think by trying to talk over you is the way to do it.

On the whole nice food Pricey for sure but isn’t everywhere these days Brisk Chinese service and efficiency which some would see as robotic

Went here for my mums 70th birthday, dropped off a personalised made cake beforehand and told them to not put it in the fridge as it affects the icing, however when it came out parts of the handmade decorations on the top had been moved and the icing had melted as they still put in the fridge! When we complained they then denied that anyone had touched it! Duck rolls we ordered were stone cold in the middle and mains were luke warm, staff were not very friendly and just no atmosphere in there. It was also very draughty so overall not a pleasant experience!

Called for a takeout as have done many times, but for the last two occasions, after taking the order home, food has been cold, tasteless and hugely overpriced for the poor quality and portion size. First occasion you give the benefit of doubt, but second time I will not be returning again. Customer service when collecting is poor to top it all off.

I would give this place zero if I could. I placed an order on deliveroo at 7pm which eventually turned up at 9. I paid £30 for some salt and pepper chicken and rice and what turned up was the rice and no chicken. I understand mistakes happen so I phoned the takeaway, the rude woman on the phone is on another level. Literally screaming and shouting at me that they had no chicken. I’ve been here lots in the past but that was my last time. The food that actually did arrive was cold and inedible. It’s a shame that such a lovely place has gone down hill so badly!

Placed an order online for collection, came to collect but didn’t realise they got one of my orders wrong until I got home. However, I started eating the food as I was hungry anyway, even if it was not the correct order. I couldn’t finish eating the food because it was not what I wanted to order. On second thought, I decided to ring them and explain the situation. The lady at the desk who claims she is the manager was so rude on the phone, kept interrupting me and insisted I come back to the restaurant as she was sure she gave me the right order, she even insinuated maybe a family member tampered with my food, what an accusation! I buckled up and drove back to the restaurant, on meeting her, her rudeness was compounded, wouldn’t let me speak, kept asking if I want a refund. It was a shock to me, and still wouldn’t let me speak. She belittled me, gaslighted me and I demanded to speak to the manager to which she claimed she was, I simply told her “I love the food, but this is the worst customer service I have ever received, and that I’m extremely dissatisfied and disappointed”. Left the food over the counter. I don’t usually review restaurants and I am one to cut some people slacks, but tonight was below board.

Prawn parcels lovely.beef dumplings and prawn dumplings I’ve had better. Beef in chilli and garlic meat overcooked, chicken in black bean nice , red Thai curry very good. Would not return there are better places to eat .

Six of Us ate and service was fast. Food was all nice, fresh and hot. The chips let the food down a little, I believe good restaurants should use fresh potatoes and not frozen chips.

We have been going to this restaurant for about 10yrs every week, but recently it has been taken over and we noticed it wasn't that friendly or welcoming anymore. We took our friends for dinner and my friend and I had fish which was very overlooked and chewy, so at the end of the meal my friend happened to mention it to the waitress to tell the chef. When we got up to pay I asked the waitress if she had mentioned it to the chef and she pointed to the manager. He was very nice and apologised and said he would take it off the bill. At that point the girl stain behind him at the bar slammed down the bill and shouted no there was nothing wrong with the fish and it was just the seasoning. We said we didnt want any reduction and the girl just went off on one, the manager tried to calm her down but she wasn't having any of it. Considering we have been loyal customers for so long to be treated like that is unacceptable! After talking to other friends they have also said that they have stopped going there as the service has gone down hill

A hot summer night and a table at the front. Friendly and efficient service accompanied well prepared food to make it a meal to remember. We shared the various dishes and all were tasty. No wonder this is our local friends' favourite Chinese restaurant!

We had a small birthday party in the room upstairs of 30 people, the menu option was fantastic for gluten free, vegetarian and vegans, the staff were as good as always. Many thanks to Lee and his staff!

We are a party of four, we dined there last night and had a super evening. Set dinner for four people and the quality of the food was outstanding. The staff were friendly and very attentive, definitely recommend this restaurant. Good value for money

We are regular customers of this restaurant and have never complained. Last week we were surprised to see how much smaller the portions are. I am aware that it is very competitively priced but I do think 4 salt and pepper mushrooms as a starter is rather stingy. We also ordered a beef dish as a main course and it had 6 pieces of beef!

Visited Tao,s last night the food was excellent & the service was really good . I would of scored it at 5 there was a issue with a soup dish . That said the Ribs & special chow mien were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.

From start to finish the service and food was disappointing. The waitress constantly made mistakes with our orders bringing the wrong food and when it did arrive, was not of a good standard. Such a shame - with effort and attention to detail this restaurant could be a little goldmine

Went for an early bird with a group of friends. The sweetcorn soup was like wallpaper glue (the consistency - obviously never eaten wallpaper glue!!)

My wife and 5 children (aged 2 - 12) enjoyed a lovely dinner. Waitresses were very keen and attentive. Food was good. All enjoyed the experience.

Since the new ownership I think standards have dropped and greed has increased. I had a table booked but after 15mins we were told we’d have to wait at least a further 20 mins as our table was occupied. Their response was ‘what can we do?’ I don’t think you need to be an expert to tell the customers when they arrive that the table is booked for..... so will need to be vacated at that time or leave the table unoccupied. Taos decided to slip another customer in and hope we’d wait - greedy!

Myself and my son decided to have some mum and son time and went to Taos. It's the second time since it has been taken over. Sadly we were not impressed again. The spring rolls were lovely but the sweet and sour was not very nice. Both of us had the same meal and both of us said we wont be returning. It's a shame because the food used to be very good.

Lively local Chinese. We went for the first time whilst staying with our daughter. Food was tasty and plentiful and staff were helpful and pleasant.

Tucked away in a little side street this is a hidden gem. The food is very good with a huge range of choices on the menu, including some you would not expect to find in a Chinese restaurant. I had scallops which was a bit of a risk but they were perfectly cooked and tasted lovely. Some may ask why this is not in the City centre Very happy that it isn’t. Well worth a visit.

Order ready on time and all tasted nice except the soft noodles were very dry. Would use them again without the noodles.

I have allergies and am staying up here in Prestwich. I really fancied something with beansprouts and went to the take away on the way back to my hotel only to be told they couldn't make me anything without it containing gluten. I can back to my room and found Tao's on trip adviser. Not only could they make me something without dairy, egg and gluten, but because I really fancied duck with beansprouts, and they don't have it on the menu, the kitchen custom made it for me! it was delicious too. Awesome service!

Come here regularly with mum dad and i. Mum is wheelchair bound and as Dad and i are both disabled. it was pre arranged that we would be helped on arrival This was handled with little fuss and was gratefully recieved. Was busy and the £9.50 soup starter and main meal deal was being the pull as it finishes at 7pm The three course meal over all is hard to find fault with.and particularly my chicken chow mein was full of lovely fresh veg loads of chicken great value tasty fayre We all could not finish as it was so plentiful it is our regular and woukd always recommend it The two pleasent waitresses kept there promise to mum a d took here to the car and helped dad fold the chair inthe boot a nice touch.Thanks we wii be deffinately be back soon

Came in yesterday with my friend because we'd heard nothing but great reviews. However I was shocked. The decor was nice but it was freezing cold. We got served 2 flat Chinese beers which weren't even in branded glasses. One of them was in a worthingtons ale pint pot which isn't nucliated so the beers went flat straight away. We decided we'd share a meal and get a special platter for "2". When the platter came it had 2 minuscule bbq ribs which were marginally cooked to ash. 2 tiny chicken wings which were probably the best part of the whole thing. The special platter you had to order a 2 person portion anyway in order to even be served it but when it came it looked like it wouldn't feed a hamster. The beef spring rolls seemed like they'd had so much ginger put in them I couldn't taste anything else. We also ordered chips, beef curry and egg fried rice. We wanted it all together but for some reason we were served the tiny platter as a starter and made to wait half an hour for the rest we had ordered. As soon as the Platter was taken away a guy came in with hot plates yet no food. After half an hour waiting the plates went cold then the food turned up. The rice was very sticky and and tasted over fragranced I don't know what it was but it was strong. The same could be said for the curry. If it wasn't for me asking them to make it spicy I wouldn't have been able to eat it. My friend went to the toilet and for the second time in the evening a guy who wasn't out served tried to take my plates and I told him twice I wasnt done eating. The first time he tried to take the platter I'd had about 2 bites out of. All in all I'd say this was very, very average. 16 quid for a platter that would leave a baby starving. Better off going to a Chinese takeaway around the corner. Better standard of food and better value for money. Well I'll admit there was a big portion of beef in the beef curry but that's it. At £9.50 a head this meal is amazing value. Choice of starter, soup and main with boiled rice or fried rice or noodles at nominal extra charge. Service superb and very friendly staff.

We went for a meal out on Valentine day. As usual delicious meals served with friendly professional good service. The best ideas was whoever cow and eat that day everyone got a red rose was a really thoughtful idea. Really recommended this restaurant.

Last 3 visits have kept me waiting 20-30 minutes after agreed pick up time for take away collection. Items missed off recent orders and declining quality of meat in meals (I assume they are trying to maximise profits with cheap / old meat). Real shame, they’ve lost me as a loyal customer and I’d strongly recommend you look elsewhere for your Chinese food.

We had a family visit. The service was superb and the food even off the midweek set menu was really good and so tasty and only £9.50 per person for 3 courses. Drinks aren't too expensive either

Four friends had an early dinner on a Sunday evening.The place was neat and clean and the welcome from the staff very warm. The menu was large and had excellent dietary information.Gluten free items were clearly marked and I was spoilt for choice.Amounts of food were very generous and good value.Starters were delicious.Threeof us had sweet and sour cod which was superb.Steamed cod on soy and ginger was the other.It was plentiful and delicious.No room for puddings.A very pleasant surprise for a local Prestwich restaurant.

Ordered the early bird menu plus a dish off the main menu. Hot and soup and chicken and sweetcorn soup, shredded chicken and meat spring rolls for a starter, chicken was delicious and done in a sticky ok sauce, the spring rolls were the freshest and crispiest I've ever tasted. Mains followed and again were lovely. Resteraunt was busy but service was good. We will definitely be going again and Taos comes recommended.

Not been to Tao`s for a long time - Sunday night, a large party took up a very large table, otherwise the place was empty. Under the impression short staffed - The meal was poor, Atmosphere - nothing, so will not be returning.

Visited Taos last Friday for a early evening meal out with Mrs K. The food and service excellent was great value for money and in this lovely hot weather the outside eating area was delightful all in all a lovely evening

I visited last night for my birthday with my grown up children and arrived at 6.20. We were surprised how empty the restaurant was (only 4 other tables of people) After 20 minutes we asked the waitress if she could take our order. The soup arrived after 25 minutes!! We noticed nobody else was being served food but they were busy completing all take away orders. 30 minutes after our soup was cleared I asked how. much longer it would be. Another family with crying, hungry children eventually left after waiting over an hour for their meal. Our mains arrived 55 minutes after our starter. It was pure salt. At no time did anybody make an effort in between to ask if we would like another drink or apologise for the delay. One regular customer now lost

Still a really good chinese restaurant. Very efficient staff. Food and wine is good value for money. Well worth a visit.

Visited Tao's as a party of 4 including 2 children. Prawn dim sum, seaweed, paper wrapped prawns and spring rolls to start. Chicken with broccoli, Szechuan prawns and beef and spring onions for mains, banana fritter for dessert. The food is consistently good, we have tried lots of different dishes over time. The service is courteous & prompt but not overbearing. We will definitely be back, they offer a takeaway collection too, restaurant quality food at home.

We went to Tao for a special meal to celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday 17th June.

We've visited here a number of times, I live locally.

Food was a good choice on early bird menu.two starters and a main I had hot and sour soup was very nice then had salt and pepper mushrooms they were ok batter was a little soggy then I had tofu/beancurd in curry sauce and rice and noodles for my mains noodles were salty and on the whole good was a little on the bland side I thought but other than that staff are pleasant and it is always a pleasure to eat in here.

My family, friends and I have been to this hidden little treasure lots of times.

Comprehensive menu. Delicate flavours nicely presented. Fish is particularly good. Not cheap but worth it for a special occasion.

We visited for my nieces birthday and a family get together, the atmosphere and drinks service was great, we selected our food off the set early bird menu and the limited menu offered up a basic Chinese menu, we made our choices and the food arrived, the starters went down well with everyone and the soups also went down well, some of us found the main courses to be a bit bland and watery, we have certainly eaten better! Having said that we will visit it again

Love everything about the food here. So tasty and the Singapore noodles are amazing! They also do takeaway which is brilliant as we only live around the corner.

Went here with a friend mid-week and although the restaurant was full, the service was slower than it should be and the food was substandard. My friend had a chicken dish which he felt was undercooked and I had a fish dish which was overcooked. I have heard good reports of this place, but I certainly didnt experience this. It could have been an off-day. But this shouldnt really happen. Not sure if I will go back. the restaurant itself is very nice inside and well presented.

Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever visited. The menu is huge and the food is absolutely gorgeous; so tasty and huge portions too. Staff are really friendly, can’t recommend this place enough.

Been to this restaurant about 4 or 5 times now and always left feeling full up and good. The portions for all food were most generous and the bill at the end of the meal has always been reasonable and no mistakes at all. The staff whilst being friendly enough do always seem in a mighty hurry and the food itself is kind of thrown at you in a hurry too. However that aside the overall experience has been pleasant and the food good value for money.

This place is really hard to find. Set quite far back from the main road and virtually no parking spaces - but the value for money food and excellent service is worth the trip.

We've recently moved to the area and Tao's has come highly recommended by a number of friends so we thought we'd give it a try. Safe to say we weren't disappointed!! The menu is extensive and the food fantastic. The duck was excellent as was the crispy shredded beef. The service was also very very good! Really reasonable prices for the quality of the food and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. 5*

We'd just had a terrible experience at a different restaurant where we didn't even get to order. Our baby was getting fussy. We were hungry, tired and grumpy. We were ready to go home in defeat. Then there was Tao's. The modern shop front glowed invitingly. We were able to park right outside. We'd called ahead just 15 minutes earlier to book a reservation and we were unsure what to expect. Warily we stepped inside. The warmth of the lighting and the minimalist but well chosen decor was instantly welcoming. We were greeted by the friendly people at the bar who recognised us from our call and directed us to a table where they had already set up the highchair. They had chosen a table with plenty of room all around it for easy manoeuvring, away from the busy front of the restaurant. We were offered help in getting settled at the table.The service was prompt. They struck the perfect balance between patience and efficiency; we had time to choose what we wanted but were not left waiting once we had decided. We had one primary waitress throughout the night who was well spoken, kind and attentive. Several other members of staff also checked in with us and interacted with our baby but the were respectful and non-intrusive. We did not wait very long for our food. The starters looked wonderful. The food was hot and freshly prepared. I ordered the vegetarian spring rolls which were cooked to perfection. The crisp outer layer gave way to succulent insides with the perfect mixture of invigorating and soothing tastes. We were given time to eat and chat and as soon as we were done the plates were taken away. We had the perfect amount of time inbetween courses to enjoy the lively atmosphere and excellent company. There were a few rowdy customers in the place but the staff dealt expertly with them, managing to calm and control without disturbing anybody's evening. The main courses were mouth watering. At this point I was cuddling my daughter on my knee and the waitress placed the plate in the middle of the table rather than infront of me so that the baby could not burn her hands on the hot plate. I ordered the crispy shredded beef with rice and it was sublime. The coating provided the perfect texture whilst also melting pleasantly in the mouth. The flavour was marvellous and the seasoning gave a beautiful kick without overwhelming the rest of the dish. Even the rice had a succulent flavour which complimented the beef perfectly. My partner, who has eaten at several high end establishments, commented that the steak was the most tender he had ever experienced. The wait staff ensured that we were finished before approaching us. The food was so excellent that we asked to take the leftovers with us (including a tiny piece of steak that my partner couldn't bare to leave behind!). These were packaged incredibly well and upon revisiting the dishes the following day we discovered that the quality of the food had barely declined and was still of a much higher standard than the usual takeaway meals.I was stunned when my partner revealed the price of the meal. Even including an expensive bottle of wine and a well deserved tip we would have expected it to be much more.Overall I feel that Tao's restaurant is one of the best places that I have ever visited for quality of service and the meals themselves. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for giving a tired family a great experience. And where most restaurants would recoil at young families or loud patrons they took it all in their stride and made it a pleasant experience for everybody involved. We will definitely be returning.

A quality restaurant, locally situated in Prestwich as good if not better than any city centre Chinese restaurant we have visited.Reasonably priced with good waiting-on staff, difficult to fault and strongly recommended.

This restaurant is one of the best in Manchester for Chinese food. The menu is large and full of choice items. Even when it is extremely busy the service is second to non. I advise you to book a table in advance.

Been here few times now, best Chinese/Cantonese around. Lots of choice for everyone including the vegetarians. Friendly and helpful staff. The food is very tasty and well cooked. Yum!

We booked a table before we had read the reviews, and I am so glad we did! There's a couple of bad ones here, but I can only think they have got mixed up and are talking about somewhere else!We visited last Saturday with friends and had a fantastic evening. The service was great, food really was delicious and was great value for money.Our favourites were the salt and pepper ribs and the sweet and sour king prawn. Fantastic!

I came in to order food for my wife who is expecting our second child as she had a compulsion for noodles. My visit was solely based on TripAdvisor. After coming in at what I thought was peak time to an empty restaurant, except two people. I simply ordered vegetarian chow mein and aubergine starter and a vegetarian egg roll. When I bought the food home within six minutes of being handed the takeaway bag, we opened it to the fresh smell of.... vegetable oil. The chow mein the first I have ever seen with 70% cucumber as the main vegetable and it was totally unseasoned and the vegetable reduction had been stretched with oil as our noodles were actually swimming in about two millimetres of oil at the bottom of the tray. We could clearly see where the soup started at the vegetable oil stopped thanks to the floating oil bubbles. The Aubergine fried starter was soggy, again due to too much oil. I believe this was because the oil needed changing and the food was absorbing most of it. When I called to say that my wife and I we are unable to even eat it as we were put off by the greasiness of the food, I was told to bring the food back and to get a refund. When I collect my money and began walking out the door the staff member proceeded to say that next time I should try a different restaurant and not come back... with some serious attitude. When I turn back and confronted him he said he was talking to his colleague to which I said man up and stand by what you say.. say it to my face and not behind my back as I am walking out. After a to and fro about justifying the quality of the food I simply took my money and left because once the containers were opened, the look on their faces told me that knew that this is where they messed up as the unnecessary amount of oil in the food was clear to see. I would genuinely have gone back and tried a different dish, but if this is the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen on a quiet night for a very simple dish I don't want to know what happens on a busy night if they ever have one. Disgusting food and disgusting service. TripAdvisor should be ashamed of letting them put their certificates on the walls of this restaurant

This place is a gem, ive been many times and its time it got some recognition. The choice on the menu is so diverse, so if you fancy a change get these guys to talk to you about what yo like and they will recommend accordingly. Weekend's get busy so best to book. They also do a set menu meal for under £10 (It finishes at 7pm though) which offers a great choice. Staff are always attentive and the service very good.

The first time we went the service was ok. Right at the end of the meal my auntie noticed the last bit of chicken was raw inside. Needless to say the meal was returned and not charged for. We returned last week to give it a second chance. Wish we hadn't my mother had fish and woke up Fri night Being sick with stomach pains. Both people who had the fish have been really ill. Ruining a weekend away that was planned for month's. I will never return. If you do go avoid the chicken and fish.

Good choice and variety on menu, and plenty of choice for vegetarians. The food is lovely, the service is good, doesn't take them long to prepare food. Relaxing atmosphere. Prices very reasonable as Chinese restaurants can be a bit expensive. Only thing to point out is perhaps place some plants on outside sitting area to cover view of car park.
