What an amazing restaurant ! 1st class food. Great energy, friendly service. I would highly recommend Tao as a 5 star restaurant. Food was exquisite.

We had the pleasure of visiting for a family meal to celebrate my husband's birthday. Fabulous food which we all thoroughly enjoyed and the staff were extremely friendly and ensured that we were very well looked after. A surprise birthday cheesecake was a lovely touch. Can definitely recommend the venue and we will be back - they now have a loyalty card scheme too!

An absolute delight, found Tao on Google when looking for somewhere in Warrington. was really impressed with the look of the menu. Simply delicious, super staff who explained and recommended different dishes. Probably the best Chinese restaurant I've been to!!

Tao is a culinary gem for discerning palates and the restaurant provided an exceptional backdrop for a special occasion (my girlfriend's birthday celebration dinner). The ambiance was elegant and intimate, and the staff welcoming and attentive. The food we sampled was genuinely delightful and the manner with which they were served was truly exemplary. The siu mai and har kao showcased impeccable freshness and nuanced flavors, while the crispy duck pancake - a signature dish prepared by co-owner Chris himself - was nothing short of a revelation. To our surprise, we were offered a complimentary serving of their new fried mochi dessert. This turned out to be a wonderful finale to a truly memorable meal. For those seeking a refined and exquisite dining experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly! Perhaps unsurprisingly, we will be sure to return soon!

Tao is the best Chinese in Cheshire, it’s absolutely stunning inside and the food is equally fantastic! The staff there go above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect for you. We recently went for my mother’s birthday, we had a huge table and everything was absolutely perfect. Thank you to the team at Tao, we can’t wait to come back. Fabulous place

We do not live far away so walked to Tao’s. We were shown immediately to our table, having booked the day before. We ordered water and soon decided on our food. We went for the set menu and shared a platter of starters. All were delicious. My wife then had chicken in lemon and I had the Sichuan beef with chillies, both had jasmine rice. All washed down with a Shiraz. It was excellent, wine, food and service. We first went in their opening week and then Covid struck. We have had takeaways since but decided to experience the real thing! No question that we shall return, we are lucky to have such a gastronomical feast round the corner.

Visited Tao on Saturday 6 Jan, place was quite busy. Food and service very good and will definitely return. The restaurant was very clean and kept on top of by the waiting on staff. Your table is kept clean by being wiped down after every course which is unheard of in most restaurants. Keep it upTao

Visited New Year’s Eve wonderful tasty food great environment really helpful staff just lovely food from start to finish Still a little bug bare of mine is the 10% service charge for all tables regardless of the amount of people I feel this should be stopped and as the same else where you can tip if you like I would ordinarily tip £5 not £15 pounds for a table 😞 please change this Tao I know it says discretionary but people may struggle to ask for this to be taken off this may be the decider as to whether people visit you or not.

Absolutely beautiful food - delicate and fine flavours. The restaurant is clean and the staff are attentive and patient. A real gem of a restaurant and if I could give this 6* I would.

Delicious food, attentive service and lovely clean restaurant with relaxing decor. What's not to like. There is a car park right outside the door, you have to put your reg number in when you first go in the restaurant. We all had a great night here and will be back... highly recommend

Beautiful food, catered for our meal choices which were not on the menu, the duck spring rolls were amazing, great atmosphere which was busy when we arrived, nice touches that arrived with the food & made the meal special. The only thing I would say is it’s a little bit pricier than other Chinese restaurants in the area but you would expect to pay more when you’re sitting in nice surroundings like this one & for me it was worth the extra money spent. Service was also great.

My friends organised my baby shower at Tao’s and it was a lovely experience. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly. We had a good time. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because the food was surprisingly more expensive than anticipated. We were 6 friends and we spent £237 in total which was more than what we budgeted. But the experience made it worth it in the end. I’ll definitely be going back again.

The food here might be great but unfortunately we didn’t get to find out. We booked a table here for my brothers birthday after hearing nothing but positive things from friends and family. We arrived promptly Sunday evening for our booked table only to find it wasn’t available. There were numerous other families in the same scenario one of which said they had been waiting up to an hour for their table despite also booking. After waiting 30 minutes we gave up and decided to head elsewhere. Needless to say this will be our last visit to Tao. Avoid!

I booked a table for 8pm still not seated at 8:30pm. Countless others in the same scenario. We left hungry. Very poor, you shouldn’t be taking bookings if you can’t honour them.

We come here often for our family get togethers because we know the food will always be done to a high standard. The front of house are attentive and they always make sure we were well looked after. It’s very rare you get authentic Cantonese food these days so we always go all out and order too much! Always leave with a full stomach.

It’s regrettable i have to write this review as i hate the idea of putting something negative about a local business however to many times the same thing has happened so I’ve had enough so i know this is something that may make them think twice for next time. We have been here many times and the food is generally pretty good, the problem comes every time i ever get a takeaway something goes wrong. I actually live 30 mins away from here now but when in the area which i am regularly i still nip in, I can’t have anything spicy as i have medical conditions that just means I can’t have is and several times I’ve asked them to make sure something isn’t spicy and they have assured me it isn’t then when i have got home it’s is covered in chilli, like the chef has mistaken it for extra chilli, by the time i get home I can’t just come back to rectify it so it just goes in the bin. Then we’ve had the wrong meal before and other issues. On a couple of occasions they have offered us a replacement meal next time which we have accepted and it’s been fine so we have forgiven a lot. But last night i went and called first to order the lady i spoke with on the phone was nice and i asked i know you do a menu for 20 pounds with a starter mains and side can i have the curry and a fried rice please and i asked what starters are included in the offer, she went of to tell me them then said duck and pancakes, I asked the duck and pancakes are in the 20 pound offer are you sure. She said yes, i then said that really surprises me as I didn’t think it would be she again said yet it is so that will be 20 pounds and will be ready in about 15/20 minutes is that ok, so i ordered that and grabbed 20 pounds and set off, When i arrived I’m assuming someone else served me and said that’s 26 pounds please, so I asked i thought it was 20 and she said yet but you order the curry which is an additional 2 pounds and the duck which is an additional 4. I said I’ve only brought 20 as i asked several times if that was right. She then said actually it’s 24 as that’s wrong. So i have to go and get another 4 pound. Not that it’s the money just the sounds strange to get 3 different prices. So whatever i paid it and left. I asked can you definitively make sure everything is in the bag and the curry has no chilli in it. She said she had double checked and everything was right, so i drove home and when i got back i opened it up the curry was indeed correct however they had forgot the sauce for the duck meaning it was just dry duck on pancakes, pointless, out of frustration i called and said is there kent to be sauce with the duck and the gent I spoke with Said yes, so i told he it was missing, i said I’m quite annoyed as everything i come there for a takeaway there is so often something wrong or missing. He again offered me a free one next time but i just said forget it. For every free one I’m paying for ones that go in the bin so, I’ve had enough. I decided to write this hoping the management would see it and sort this out as it seems the kitchen are great at what they do but organisation wise its just a shambles. Don’t have a clue what the prices are mistakes on orders, wrong orders, missing items. It’s not a huge deal really but a one off id just ignore but sooo many times it can’t just be me this is happening to. They need to stick a rocket up the front of house staff to just simply write orders down correctly and then check the order before given to a customer. And check you know your products and prices. It’s not that difficult and really annoying now as i wont be returning here even though i like the food. We came yesterday Tuesday the 3rd October around 730 ish i think. I really hope you fix these issues and don’t need to loose more customers over silly avoidable things.

I love this place. We went on a Sunday, which is always busy, so you will need to book a table. You have a 2 hour slot, but they don't rush you. We had 21/2 hours from sitting down to paying the bill.

A very good Chinese restaurant indeed…..for our party of five on Saturday 30 September we were made welcome by all the staff. Everyone in our party of five rated the food very highly as also the beer and wine. There’s a nice ambience to Tao’s interior: spaciousness, high beams with a nice quirky tropical fish tank-type display either side. Car parking spaces outside too - you can (almost) step out of your car into the restaurant front door! Thank you to all the staff for making Tao a nice evening!

Found this restaurant on google, while staying in Warrington for work. I was not disappointed, we ordered from the a la carte menu. We didn't go for the all you can eat menu as we weren't overly hungry and thought it was slightly overpriced. However now i would highly recommend this menu, well worth the tasty food. The food was soo nice and tasty and the presentation was stunning. The staff were very friendly and were there when we needed them.

Been waiting to come and try this place ,the restaurant inside is lovely ,staff very nice and polite ,food was good although i feel the chicken satay on the mixed starters could do with a peanut sauce or something as it was a bit dry ,best thing for me was the hot and sour soup OMG it was super tasty ,the best i have ever had

We've been to TAO several times now and we can now confidently recommend this restaurant. The food has always been consistently delicious. Yesterday we tried the pork ribs and they were so tasty and not greasy at all that we had to order more. A special mention for the aubergines in curry, which were really flavourful. What really sets this restaurant apart from the competition is the amount of effort they put in client satisfaction, with super nice and helpful staff. The restaurant is also very clean and tidy, with tables wiped not just before sitting clients but between courses too.

This was our first visit and it will not be our last. We had the set menu and it was great value for money..The service was friendly and warm from the minute we entered the restaurant. Food was of a high quality not just in presentation but flavour too. The restaurant was spotlessly clean 5 stars all round.

We have become regulars at Tao as the food is always without a doubt exceptional. We know we are being served the best quality authentic ingredients as we have spoken to Vanessa, the owner, many times about this. The service is also brilliant. We especially love being served by Leo. We dined there tonight after being busy for a few weeks and we were reminded of why we eat there so often. Absolutely divine!

Visited for the first time on Sunday, it was really good, excellent service and the all you can eat offer is so good, everything is cooked fresh to order, and the starters were some of the best we've had. Excellent cocktails too Perfect place for a special meal

Based upon word-of-mouth and looking at some of the reviews on here, I was expecting a lot more. The food is ok, but not the best Chinese food I've had. The service was ok, but we did have to wait for one of our starters as the waiter taking our order got confused. But the cost was very expensive for what it is. I've paid less at Tatu (Spinningfields) & Lu Ban (Cains Brewery) who I'd consider to be 'fine dining' experiences.

Very expensive for average quality. Staff should highlight that rice is extra. Lemon chicken was not much better than Findus crispy chicken. My recommendation...Choi Hing every time.

Best around for food and service

Quite simply the Best Cantonese meal I have ever had! Went for the set menu which included dim sum and mains each, we chose Cantonese Chicken and Katsu Chicken with Egg Fried Rice and Jasmin rice. The Dim Sum was amazing, the ribs were delightful and the prawn toast was a taste sensation, very light, not greasy and full of flavour. The presentation of the food was perfect, what you would expect of a very high class restaurant in a major city, this place is an absolute gem and a must try.

Absolutely loved it here. Would definitely come again. Food was heavenly. They have a set menu where you get a starter, a main and a side all for a set price or you can go off the normal menu. I went off the set menu and would highly reccomend the ribs and shredded beef/chicken

OUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANT We couldn't recommend TAO enough.From the moment me and my girlfriend walked through the door the service was exceptional! The staff really do go above and beyond for anything you need or any questions you have. Making sure your table is clean inbetween courses, Any specific requests we had for the food were met with out a problem and we never had to wait if we needed a refill of our drinks as soon as we had finished our drinks the waiting staff would ask if we needed another and overall just very polite and great at what they do! The food is with out a doubt the best Cantonese/Chinese food we have ever had.We ate from the Sunday Feast menu and it has a good mix of everything you could possibly need. ​ The flavours of the food are on another level and everything was fresh and cooked perfectly! (Very Reasonably Priced at £35 each) We Ordered: Prawn crackers Duck and pancakes x2 King du ribs x4 King du wingsx4 Lemon grass and ginger Chicken skewers x4 2x Bbq Boa buns Salt and pepper wings x3 Salt and pepper ribs x2 Sea weed x3 Sichuan chicken x2 Jasmine rice x1 Mango cheese cakes x6 Choax Buns with vanilla ice cream Hard to pick a favourite dish but the Skewers and Bbq Boa buns are unreal. Can't wait to go back!

This is a really great restaurant, one of the best we've been to in Warrington. Service was excellent, so friendly and attentive. The food tasted freshly-made. Highlights were the duck spring rolls and the crispy chilli beef. Portion sizes were very generous too. Parking nearby can be tricky as the car park is only very small, but worth the walk if you have to park on one of the streets nearby!

Amazing food with great vegan options!

Great food service was great I had for starters Ja Ping (price per person, min of 2) A starter platter that includes all the favourites including Duck spring rolls, Sesame prawn toast, Chicken skewers, King do ribs & Seaweed. Mains TAO curry / DF Chinese style curry with king prawns, beef, chicken & char siu. Finished with chilli oil for that extra delicious kick!! Crispy shredded chicken in Cantonese sauce Strips of beef or chicken coated in a light batter, tossed in a sticky, tangy sweet sauce with fresh chillies Noodles and Jasmine rice Beautiful presentation attached pictures and video x Thumbs up 👍 Had a Almond milk dessert on the house.

As a family that includes two vegans we were delighted by the number of choices and the keenness of the owners and their staff to make everyone feel welcome. We had the Sunday Feast and the food was exquisite and plentiful, it is clear that customer satisfaction is more important than penny pinching. Even though the restaurant was very busy we didn’t feel rushed at any point, in fact I found the service far superior to that I received in a London Michelin starred restaurant last week. My son has autism and we were initial concerned about the noise in the restaurant (it was full and busy) but the quality of the food overruled his desire for quiet. Indeed he rated the restaurant 9.5 out of 10. In short this has to be the best Chinese restaurant in the NW. Thanks to the whole team for making our evening and first visit to Tao awesome.

Really impressed with Tao - genuinely fresh food, including the best dumplings I think I've ever eaten. In fact everything we ate was brilliant. I was also super impressed that the winelist had been thought about. Wine that actually matches the food on offer rather than the usual dull and mis-matching selections that you get in so many places. So a massive thank you to Tao for having Gewurtztraminer and Resiling on the menu! We'll definitely be back.

Actually no. They will make you feel like of you were invited in their home, for a family meal. The food is freshly homemade by high skills chefs, service is amazingly friendly and they are here to help and answer questions regarding the menu.

My family and I, on the way back home, stopped to eat something and came across TAO, we had no idea it was such an exclusive restaurant. The friendly staff immediately took care of us and helped us choose food. At the very entrance, we were asked if we had any allergies, were vegetarians, etc. because there were not many people and we received the food really quickly, in perfect sizes. Was very good. Se objectively rate this place and I would give it four and a half stars. very nice restaurant with delicious Cantonese food, incredibly kind and helpful staff. prices are quite high but quality has never been cheap!

I really cant say anything bad about the food. At first I wanted to give it maybe 4 stars cause yes the food was really, really nice. But for the price the portions could be slightly bigger, but even then I would be stretching it to take away a star. Service was really nice and attentive, could also be cause the restaurant isn't huge. Music wasn't too loud so it was easy to speak to each other. My only problem and even then it's a really small problem was the size of the tables. You order meat and veggies for example, and it comes with with a serving of rice or noodles on separate plate. You have two people doing the same and you quickly run out of space on the table. Was it bad? Not really. More like annoying. Even then can really recommend the place.
