Tannin & Oak in Camden

Wonderful wine bar; great wine, delicious sharing platters and really friendly staff! Will definitely be visiting again soon.

After a day at work, I did not expect to be questioned on my education and told how to hold a glass, but unfortunately this was my experience after visiting Tannin & Oak this evening. I’ve never posted a review about somewhere before, however after an uncomfortable interaction with Avie which spoiled an evening with friends, I feel it is necessary. I didn’t expect confirming a bottle to lead to condescending questioning on my schooling and knowledge of wine. It’s interesting to hear about the way wine is made, but it seemed Avie wanted to educate me when all I wanted to do was enjoy a drink with friends. After the initial questioning, I was also interrogated about the way I held my glass. This was embarrassing and unnecessary, being told that I must like my wine warm. In addition to this the service we received was slow. Initially I got up to ask for the wine list, then I had to chase up the bottle we ordered and later the crackers. It’s a shame as a local that I won’t be returning to Tannin & Oak. As a lover of cheese and wine it would be lovely to have a wine bar nearby that I could return to and not be in fear of snobbery and judgement.

Where do I start? I had my birthday here at tannin and oak- You need to reserve in advance as the place gets fully booked quite quickly. Me and my friends were treated so well - we had a great selection of wines and were talked through our tastes with our wines to match. Thank you so much!

Visited as part of my wife's Birthday celebrations, very friendly and busy Wednesday evening, certainly worth booking first. Two glasses of prosecco followed by two big reds - all excellent. Great atmosphere and good to have as a local venue.

What a gem of a place! The staff were really knowledgable on all wines that suit all budgets, from a super expensive bottle of red that makes a high impression to a equally as pleasing house white, they all tasted great but it really was the staff and the atmosphere that came up trumps. Adam and his team really make you feel welcome and are all full of knowledge, from a night out to a collected take away night in, these guys will really help you make the moment and do not skimp on customer service.
