Totally incompetent people running the business. Booked weeks in advance for New Years, only to be told 2 days before it will be a set menu at an extortionate price (being someone that only likes certain Indian food) of which I didn't like much. Too late to then find somewhere else. Just done the same for Valentines, rang me 2 days before to say it will be a set menu at an even more extortionate price. Both times, nothing advertised on there website so you are aware, as i wouldn't have booked if i'd known. Their explanation is it's too busy to order from the menu and the kitchen can't cope. Gods knows what they do on other nights when it's busy. Won't bother booking there ever again.

THE WORST RESTAURANT IN ESSEX Went to Tanishq with my partner today for Valentine’s Day. Saw it on open table and it looked quite nice so thought let’s give it a try. This has got to be one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had so far. Firstly I was called by someone on the team a day before to say we now require a deposit for the reservation as we are fully booked and needed to ensure guests dont cancel last min meaning other guests would be missed out on that spot… which to an extent I understand so I obliged and paid the £10 per person deposit. On arrival to the restaurant we was greeted by one of the staff members who was very polite and she took us to our seats. The restaurant itself looked quite nice but what came after was a joke. We then sat down and a waiter came and placed the Napkins on our laps and asked us if we wanted any water. Again he was very polite and can’t fault the 2 waiters so far. The third waiter was an absolute disaster, as he would serve every other table but ours, there was apparently a fixed menu for the day which wasn’t advertised pre booking and so was a surprise, it was a very limited menu and had very strange options to choose from, 3 starters served with 1 main and the sides are included in the price as well as desert. This was offered to us without a drinks menu and when we asked if we could order form the Ala carte menu we was told it’s a fixed menu only for the day. Looking into the drinks menu we asked if Reisling was a sweet toned wine to which the very flustered waiter responded with I don’t drink so I don’t know… we then ordered a pornstar martini and a spiced rum and coke… which arrived an hour and 20 mins after ordering it. We was also served poppadums with 3 chutneys that all tasted the same with different colours. Our starters came an hour after being there watching waiter after waiter walk passed us and pay no attention to us, the table next to us was there 30 mins before us and they were only seen to 40 mins into their seating whilst we were getting our water. The table next to us asked to leave as they had waited too long and just like us experienced such horrible service. The manager then came and did try to salvage this all but by this time it was too late. An hour and thirty mins into this seating we had a glass of water with 6 popadums and chutney whilst our drinks were brought to us whilst we was putting our coats on to leave. It felt like the team did not have a meeting before the doors opened today to discuss what’s on the menu, what we’re offering to our customers, how many waiters per area or tables, drinks menus at the ready, make sure the experience is superb for the London prices we’re charging…. Awful. Being of Indian heritage myself I wouldn’t call the starters that were eventually presented even acceptable. You cannot put chickpeas on a samosa and call it a samocha chaat, you cannot roll an aubergine with sweetcorn and call it an Indian dish and you cannot burn a paneer on one side and call it a masala paneer dish. ( I could’ve cooked a much better dish myself) You absolutely cannot open your doors again to customers without having a team briefing! Lastly there was another manager (the bald one) who was initially complained to about the service and just nodded and walked off with his hands in his pocket. Atrocious!

Breath-taking and stunning grounds and views on the outside, even the interiors in the restaurant are beautiful, it’s a real shame that’s where it ends as the location has good potential. The service was poor, lack of communication, food was NOT authentic Indian food with Indian flavours - Butter chicken tasted like it was full of tomato based gravy and the meat platter lacked flavour. Portions were ridiculous - and the food took ages to come out. This is good for those who just want to have a drink and a curry without knowing true Indian flavours, and just want to dine in a beautiful ambience. I do hope they improve as I said there is scope for a lot of potential.

Had a wonderful birthday celebration here! The food was absolutely amazing—flavorful, authentic, and beautifully presented. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making the experience even more special. My boyfriend loves Indian food, and this place truly impressed us both.

Yesterday we had without doubt the best meal in an Indian restaurant ever. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings. The presentation and food was unrivalled with amazing flavours. The wines on each course were very complementary and certainly added to the overall experience. If a comparison was needed, it outperformed any top London Indian resturant we have visited. With the convenience of local and easy parking. Their were 4 of us and all agreed we would be back very soon to enjoy the experience

Incredible food in a gorgeous venue. The menu is inventive and different, with food for all palates. The people that work there are all wonderful, especially Hasan - he was particularly kind and knowledgeable. We've been twice in the last month, and I am already planning our next visit.

Whilst the premises is beautiful, the food was not up to standard at all. Very bland, seemed like the curries were a few days old and re-heated, food did not taste fresh even though we were the only customers there. Very over-priced for below average food, i left the restaurant feeling hungry because most of the food was not tasty.

Much to say.....this restaurant looks absolutely beautiful and the service is quality. Lovely staff who are very attentive. Now the food......is amazing. Reasonable portion size and just tastes great. Not too spicy but they are flexible and made us a Lassi, even though it was not on the menu :-) Would highly recommend.

This place is a hidden gem and I recommend everyone to come here at least once. Their food is amazing from starter, mains and dessert. Most importantly their customer service is exceptional, they are very caring and attentive. The decor and scenery is amazing. This place is well recommended for celebrations or just a nice dinner out. The price was decent for the high level of customer service considering I’ve been to many fine dining restaurants, this place is highly recommended.

I hope the team reads this review- this is not Indian food... Coming from an English background, this as an abysmal attempt to cater to the local palete. However the only palte this is suitable for are COVID victims who may have lost their taste or hospital patients (who need bland tasteless food). Unfortunately, the only credit I can give this restaurant is the outside terrace, and the inside of the restaurant, which is nicely done. However, that is about where the positives end. The food is by far the worst "Indian" food I have had- bland, no taste, far from normal Indian food would even taste like. The saag paneer was undercooked, with no taste yet alone spice and salt. The butter chicken tasted even worse- bland, no salt, no substance, no taste. Extremely poor for the establishment it is set in. Service was mediocre. Food - Terrible. I don't think the chef or team are even Indian- there was no authenticity in any dish ordered. Price wise- overpriced for what was served. I would say mediocre at best, but this would be below mediocre. Very disappointed, and will not be visiting for food at least again.

Our family had a delightful experience at Tanishq Restaurant. From arrival, We were greeted by a beautifully lit entrance displayed with flowers which created a welcoming tone. We booked beforehand and were greeted by a waiter. The atmoshphere was very modern, clean and elegant. The waiters were friendly and helpful and ensured we had a luxary experience. The restaurant was spacious and the waiter allowed us to choose the biggest table at the back where we were able to enjoy the Golf Course view. The food was exquisite and delicately presentated. The prawn was tender and chicken curry had a rich taste. We were able to mix everything with the biryani and naan which was delicious. The Tandoori Platter had a smoky flavour and Veggie Platter was very tasty. After we finished our meal, The owner personally approached us to ask about our experience and if we enjoyed the food. We were all impressed with the service and was definitely the best Indian Restaurant we have ever been.

i went to the tanishq resturant whilst i was visting London from Birmingham.Amazing customer service and has to be the most beautiful resturant i have been too.The food was 10/10 and it also had an outdoor golf area with a water fountain which is great if you are looking for a fancy resturant to go to.will definatley be back again the next time i visit London and i highly recommend.

We visited yesterday following a recommendation. Really pleased we did make the 50 minute journey. Beautiful setting. Modern and exceptionally clean. Staff very pleasant and helpful. The food was exceptional. Not your usual run of the mill Indian. Be surprised and look at the desserts menu….not an ice cream in sight. Beautiful, tasty combinations. What a Gem of a restaurant set next to beautiful views of the countryside and golf course. The restaurant has many elegant and different areas to sit in. The food is not only delicious but a work of art. The desserts and food are Michelin star quality. It's well worth the drive to get away from the hustle and busle of City life to this hidden paradise. There is no restaurant that comes anywhere near Tanishq for a mind blowing experience of joy to the pallet and eyes. Can't wait to get back there with friends to see their shock of delight seeing this wonderful restaurant and experience fine dining. Huge secure carpark ample space for all types of vehicle. The staff are conscientious and have very nice personalities. I have been to many high class restaurants in UK and Tanishq is the winner.

Visited for the first time last Wednesday. Really impressed with the location, decor, friendly staff....and of course wonderful food (great vegan choice, including dessert!) Mentioned in conversation we were there to celebrate our engagement....Next thing we knew a beautifully decorated fruit and flower plate was brought out for us, so sweet of them!

Been here a couple of times now, this place, all round, is so nice!! The atmosphere, people, food and desserts, all amazing!!! Set in beautiful surroundings in toot hill! Highly recommend this restaurant! Cannot fault it in any area. The location and interior is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service was amazing! Highly recommend the desserts, it was very light and refreshing, and you can tell it made with a lot of effort just by looking at it. The dessert chef even kindly came to explain all the desserts, and our waiter was also nice enough to explain all the dishes in detail and was very helpful throughout our meal.

We've been meaning to come here for a while as my mother's friend lives down the road, and we always pass this place enroute to see him. We went on a whim yesterday and although I felt rather underdressed - I'm so glad we did. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. The interior is what you would expect from a Michelin starred establishment. The food itself was outstanding. I wasn't really hungry and was only out as I didnt want to go to bed without dinner however I finished everything on my plate - including the complimentary aperitif and mini desert taster. My partner and I ordered based on yhe recommendation of the waiter which did not disappoint. The dishes offered were a mix of your classics as well as some I'd never heard of, which all looked absolutely delicious. I had to take a picture of the desert menu as I simply didn't have room to have one unfortunately, but I was so impressed with the selection and ingredients, I wanted to show my mother who has a sweet tooth. Last of all, thankyou to the staff, including Dida - the owner's son. Beyond attentive, polite and friendly. Dida even escorted us to the outside gates as if he were hosting us at his own home. The only negative is that this restaurant isn't situated in a location with the footfall it deserves. I'm sure it would be constantly packed if it were. Thankyou once again and we will be sure to come back along with empty stomachs so I can try alot more of your menu:) 5 stars all round

The owner himself was taking care of his customers which made our dining experience more wholesome. When he got to know that it was wedding anniversary he was very kind to offer us a dessert on the house and made us feel very special. I would recommend this restaurant anytime to anyone. I was at Tanishq with few friends and it was an amazing experience. The food was simply delicious with high quality service. It was a value for money. The view of the restaurant is also very nice.

Food menu had very little variety, it was so expensive definitely not worth it. I got a bottle of Lemonade the guy poured it into my long glass and it was only 1/4 full. He left it like that. I was drinking barely anything out of this tall glass wasn’t happy. Service was nice the guys there were lovely opening doors and taking our coats. Atmosphere was beautiful the restaurant is such a pretty place to be and the lovely water fountain outside was so nice to look at. But other than that I won’t be coming back here.

Most Amazing Indian i have ever tasted, i stated with the scallops which was delicious the chicken korma ( A recommendation) which was not your usual korma was tender and delicious i ended the meal with a mango dessert unbelievably tasty....ever dish on our table looked Amazing even the poppadoms and side's....definitely recommend hopefully visit again very soon.

Great restaurant!! Everything about it feels new, carefully thought out and well executed. The decor is modern, yet very comfortable and it’s easy to relax, especially with one of their signature cocktails in hand. The service was very attentive and every member of staff held themselves to a really good standard (evidenced through uniforms and conduct). The food was fantastic throughout, special shout out to the lamb shank and the Mango Delight dessert - heavenly! Overall a truly 5 star evening, we will be going back.

I would highly recommend Tanishq restaurant. The ambience and decor of the restaurant was clean and immaculate down to the small details. The service of all the staff was outstanding. They were welcoming and the head chef came around to introduce himself. All the staff were very polite, friendly and attentive. The quality, freshness and taste of the food was outstanding. It is high-end Michelin quality cuisine and presentation. Would highly rate the restaurant as an alternative to travelling to central London.

We were recommended to visit and we were not disappointed. The service was perfect, and the team recognised my parents from their previous visits. The food was presented beautifully and tasted lovely. Could not fault the whole experience. I hope you have all the success this deserves, we will most definitely be recommending our customers here. To find an Indian restaurant of this high quality in a semi rural location is fantastic. It has been refurbished inside to an extremely high standard and the staff are very knowledgable and welcoming The prices are not cheap but the depth of flavour, quality of meat/fish and presentation is outstanding We visited last night for the first time and have already booked a revisit - it was a most enjoyable evening

My husband has been here twice before and raved about the place so we went for our anniversary and it didn't disappoint! Food is AMAZING most delicious starters and mains but the dessert is out of this world! If you go here you have to try a dessert! Staff are attentive and decor is very plush! An amazing Indian! The food was absolutely incredible and we could not fault. We each has the tasting menu with the paired wines. The views are absolutely stunning of the golf course. This was a truly delightful visit. Indian food at its finest and done really well 💯 For starters, I had the eggplant rallotini which was stuffed with vegetables. The combinations of chutneys/sauces that garnished this dish were truly tantalising and offered the right balance of zing. For mains, I opted for the Malai Kofte, the gravy to this was a treat on the tongue, offering the perfect creaminess and when dipped in the coriander and garlic naan this was a match made in heaven. Although I was royally stuffed by this point, the desert menu was too tempting to pass! We went with the Hazelnut and Dark Chocolate Raspberry Twist which had so many textures and elements and the right balance of sweetness. The ambience and service were also faultless. Shout out to Kay our waiter who was lovely and even threw in an extra desert for our special visit. A must visit if you’re looking for class Indian food with a little something different 😃😋💯

My husband and I had dinner at Tanishq last night for the first time. We will definitely be adding this restaurant to our list of favourites. The food was amazing and all the staff very friendly and helpful. We were served by Babu and Onim and they were wonderful. We also got to chat to the chef and also the pastry chef too. We were made very welcome and we can't recommend this restaurant enough. A 5 star experience for sure!

Outstanding! I visited last week with a friend and was so impressed I took my husband tonight to enjoy this culinary expertise! This is a totally different Indian dining experience...Indian spices, French presentation and top quality British produce. This is our go to 'West End' dining, but in a beautiful setting in Essex. Imran is completely charming and a perfect gentleman, Mo has a panache for making you feel special & his knowledge of the menu is impeccable. The staff are a credit to the restaurant, polite, smiling and friendly. Cannot wait to sample the further delights of their menu that we haven't yet tried...but, leave room for dessert, unbelievable!

New fine dining Indian restaurant had opened in Totts Hill Golf Club. We tried it and it was amazing food and service. The Chef is Michille star and unusual for Indian restaurant to have a pastry chef also. We are personally assisted by Mo who helps us choose the dishes and explained fully what ingredients were included before ordering. I don't normally have a dessert in Indian but the pastry chef came out explained his dishes so had to try and it was mouthwatering. Well worth a visit for special occasion or if you like to treat yourself to high class dining expereince. Quality and service beats high end London restaurants. I would highly recommend it and I am quite fussy with my food.

Excellent food with excellent staff. Came here for my wife's birthday and we were not disappointed. Cocktails were on point, food was excellent and the staff went over and beyond especially for kids. Highly recommended place for dinner!
