I visited this takeaway yesterday, looks to be the successor of Veggie King, a vegetarian-friendly Chinese takeaway in exactly the same location many years ago. I tried the Hong Kong sweet & sour Quorn dish. A treat for long-term vegetarians like me as I miss things like sweet & sour pork from my youth. Delicious it was too. Will be back to try other dishes on their extensive vegetarian menu.

Takeaway was average prices on website did not reflect what I was charged. They did place a menu with my food and the prices were different and they charge extra per item for delivery. Not seen that before won’t be going back

This food is about as Chinese as Cornish pasties. It took 90 minutes to deliver and less surprisingly was cold when it arrived. Poor effort and waste of money.

I have heard such good things about this place and have been eagerly waiting for it to reopen so we could try.I called up to ask for home delivery and was politely told they haven't got a driver yet, and would I like to collect. I accepted and placed my order.Upon collection, the lady behind the counter knew who I was and was lovely. I bumped into a friend who had just placed her order and they kept my food warm for me so I could leave with her and get a lift. It's a little confusing that they have changed the name to 'superstar' but haven't changed the sign outside. And a little weird that they have been closed for a refurb but that it is still very basic inside. But the food is fantastic! We are vegetarian, not vegan, so we had the crispy quorn balls, egg fried rice, the mixed platter appetiser, vegetable dumplings, and they threw in some (vegan!) prawn crackers. It was all SO good. My 4 year old who doesn't eat anything loved the seaweed of all things. Very happy.I also emailed them en route because my husband queried the vegetarian-ness of it (some foods were marked V or VE on the menu and others weren't, so it can be confusing) and the next day I had a very nice text from them assuring me and thanking me for my business.I will be returning for sure.

This superb takeaway with a fully vegetarian and large vegan menu re-opened on Friday 10 November 2017. I missed it when it was closed so had to celebrate the re-opening with my favourite vegan-style king prawns in crispy batter with sweet & sour sauce complimented by Singapore chow mein and vegan "prawn" crackers.

Came across this place when searching for veggie chinese food in Gloucester, and I am so impressed! The food is amazing, so tasty which can sometimes be difficult when making classic Chinese dishes vegetarian. My Mum & I are both vegetarian and we thoroughly enjoyed the chilli 'beef' and sweet & sour 'chicken' :-) My Dad isn't vegetarian but also really enjoyed the food and said he would be happy to order from here again.Only downside - I don't have a big enough stomach to order everything!

We had our first take-away from this lovely family-run place a few weeks ago and would recommend this to vegan, vegetarians and meat eaters alike! There are plenty of options, including tofu, mock meats and vegetable dishes. The service is warm and friendly and they couldn't have done more to help explain the dishes and give recommendations. I had mock chicken in black bean sauce which was to die for. They even accommodated my request to have a side of fresh, organic pakchoy. We will definitely be going back!

This is by far my favourite takeaway place. The food is fantastic and we're left feeling stuffed for hours. Great place for veggies/vegans missing Chinese takeaway. The owners/staff are lovely, they keep you updated if an item in order has been changed/unavailable, certain things can be changed for you. I'm obsessed with their 'chilli beef', highly recommend.

My partner suggested we try this place as she is a vegetarian. I am a meat eater and don't really like food that contain no meat( beef, lamb, chicken or seafood)We ordered a takeaway for delivery but was advised it was above a 3 mile radius so we has to collect. I ordered the mixed platter for starter which I must say was tasty. I enjoyed the prawn toast and satay chicken. I ordered the Singapore vermicelli noodles and requested this to be spiced up with addition chillies. I must admit this was very disappointing, it was a little bland and not spiced as requested. I wasn't sure on the quorn chicken chunks or the prawns which were slightly rubbery. My partner had the crispy noodles which tasted slightly better than what I had. The lady who served me is very nice and friendly.

We have previously loved the food here but unfortunately our last meal included rancid mock chicken pieces in two of the main dishes. We both had to spit it out because it was so disgusting - an overpowering flavour of mould. We called and politely explained, saying that the rest of the food was delicious and it wasn't their cooking but that the mock chicken was clearly off. They argued with us over the phone for some time, saying maybe it was due to a change of spices. It definitely wasn't. They finally agreed to speak to the manager and come back to us in a few days. We waited and heard nothing so I Facebook messaged them after a couple of weeks, asking them very politely if they had managed to get permission from the manager for a refund on the two mains. I know that they received the message as they have an automatic reply. However, we heard nothing more from them. We are really disappointed but no longer feel able to trust that they care enough about their food quality, hygiene or loyal customers.

At last I have found it the food was absolutely delicious in fact it was amazing. The dishes were just like I remembered except no meat. We have found our second takeaway from Tangtastic just as delicious as the first one. It's Chinese food good food at its best. It's impressive how many options they have. The food is freshly prepared, tastes light and pure and the dishes are very reasonably priced. The staff are extremely friendly and very knowledgeable on vegan food. So far our favourites are the Singapore vermicelli and the vegetable chow mein. But we will definitely work our way through their whole vegan menu eventually. 5 stars.

We're not vegetarians but we decided to give it a go. I liked the substitutes and preferred them to real meat. However we had a 'special' rice and a 'special' chow main. But unlike specials you get from other takeaways where you usually get several different meats and lots veg these were lacking. Some pieces of vegy meat and some peas. On the whole it was comparable with takeaways we've had from other Chinese but the specials weren't as good. I understand their serving it all as vegetarian for health reasons but if that's the case are they not cooking it with msg? I thought I could smell the palm type oil too. If they're serious about doing healthy food and the impact on the planet use a quality oil and cook it with natural products

I'm not a vegetarian but my wife is, which makes life difficult on taste and texture of food, plus separate meals! This said I'm very mindful of health, provenance of food and benefits of not eating to much meat. So, this great gem of a take-away is brilliant, as to be honest it's so tasty, their chicken etc. tastes just as, if not better than cheap chicken. Yes, I would prefer Tang Tastic healthily vegetarian chicken to processed factory force feed risk meat. I honestly am very impressed. The owner lady was so very helpful. A great family business deserves to thrive. Well done.

I used to work in Gloucester about ten years ago and always used this place for a fantastic vegetarian meal and to my delight found it still there. Well it's no suprisre as it a excellent place to a get a veggie take away. In fact far better then anywhere I have ever tried. The food is amazing even one our meat eating friends remarked on the taste and quality and said if all veggie food tasted so good they could become a vegetarian. Absolutely brilliant 10 out of 10 .

I was very excited to try this veg*n take away and they certainly didn't disappoint! Delicious food, delightful staff. We had picked up a take away but they missed a rice dish which they then delivered to us. All staff are vegetarian including the chef and a good proportion of the dishes can be veganised. We had (quite a lot between two!) Won Ton soup, sesame toasts, mini samosas and spring rolls, vegan chicken curry with boiled rice, sweet and sour crispy vegan chicken balls, seaweed and special veg chow mein. Everything was delicious and I want it all again today!

Well, I was really missing Sweet and Sour Chicken Cantonese Style and Jumbo Pancake Rolls since I became a vegetarian and then this wonderful takeaway opened on the Stroud Road. They sell all the Chinese favourites done with alternatives such as Quorn and Soya Meat. What's more Kam, who runs the restaurant is very health conscious, so she uses low oil in everything and healthy alternatives.I recommend everything I have tried on the menu so far - it is all either vegetarian or vegan, although the menu mentions chicken and beef whereas it should really read "mock chicken, mock beef, Quorn" etc. Also, if you are on a diet and want a sin day, it would be the perfect place as the calories in Kam's food must be much less than a standard Chinese takeaway - it certainly does NOT have that greasy aftertaste that you get with most takeaways. If you are vegetarian and want the full choice of a Chinese menu this is the best place in Gloucestershire. Also, there is a non-veggie Chinese takeaway three doors down, so if you are with a meat eater no problem - but don't ask Kam for any meat product - for her meat is an absolute no, no.

We visited this restaurant as a group of six and tried 31 dishes over the course of two hours, all for £23.50 per person—a great value for the variety! The service was excellent; the staff were friendly and very attentive throughout the meal. You order a certain amount of dishes per round and have to finish everything or you pay £6 a plate - which is good for food waste but not good if the dish you chose is not nice. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed bag: • The salt and pepper chicken and prawns were fantastic—an absolute must-order! • The Singapore noodles were also great and full of flavor. • The Tom Yum soup was nice, but personally it was missing a bit of tang. However, some dishes fell flat: • The prawn toast was a bit oily and lacked flavor. • The chicken chop suey was disappointing—tasteless and not worth ordering. • The Szechuan beef wasn’t spicy as expected; it tasted more like sweet chili sauce - the beef itself was well cooked and not chewy. We also came in at 5 when the restaurant reopened and the dishes came freshly cooked and hot, but about an hour in when more tables started arriving, the food came cold. On the bright side, I appreciated their use of plastic straws that don’t melt in your mouth—a small but thoughtful touch. Overall, it’s worth visiting for the great dive and value, but some of the dishes could be better!

Decided not to order here again, since the young lady is not taking the orders, the bloke who has been taking them for a while is absolutely useless, for the past five times I’ve had an item missing, ever after raising this on many of occasions including tonight when I called them, to then get home and realised they have not given any sweet and sour sauce, I know every fast food takeaway sometimes forget stuff but this is way too often.
